There are a lot of things to keep track of when it comes to the Grammys: Who’s nominated? Who’s going to win? Who’s hosting? Who’s performing? Who’s gonna be there? Who’s presenting? That latter question has an answer as of today (January 31), as the Recording Academy revealed who will be this year’s presenters.

Who Is Presenting At The 2024 Grammys?

Per Billboard, the list includes Christina Aguilera, Samara Joy, Lenny Kravitz, Maluma, Lionel Richie, Mark Ronson, Meryl Streep, Taylor Tomlinson, and Oprah Winfrey.

Ronson has a big night ahead of him, as aside from presenting, he has five nominations for his work on the Barbie movie soundtrack. Joy has a couple nods as well, for Best Jazz Performance and Best Arrangement, Instruments And Vocals. Maluma’s Don Juan is also up for Best Latin Pop Album and Streep has a nomination in Best Audio Book, Narration, And Storytelling Recording for Big Tree.

The 2024 Grammys broadcast will air live on CBS from 8 p.m. to 11:30 p.m ET (5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. PT). Learn more about how to watch the show, via the CBS broadcast or alternative methods, here.

The Stacked ‘Barbie’ Movie Soundtrack Will Feature Nicki Minaj, Dua Lipa, Lizzo, And Even Ryan Gosling

The much-hyped Barbie movie is getting closer and closer, and as it does, we’re learning more about the film’s music. A Dua Lipa song for the soundtrack, “Dance The Night,” will be here in a matter of hours. Now, we know who else will be involved with the soundtrack.

As Rolling Stone revealed today, the project will feature Ava Max, Charli XCX, Dominic Fike, Dua Lipa, Fifty Fifty, Gayle, Haim, Ice Spice, Kali, Karol G, Khalid, The Kid Laroi, Lizzo, Nicki Minaj, PinkPantheress, Ryan Gosling, and Tame Impala. That’s not even everybody, as more artists are set to be announced ahead of the project’s release. Mark Ronson is the album’s executive producer.

Gosling on the soundtrack may seem like a surprise to some, but it shouldn’t: Aside from all the singing he did in La La Land, his band Dead Man’s Bones put out a self-titled album in 2009 (and Cat Power covered one of their songs in 2021).

Beyond that, Minaj’s presence is also notable, since she’s long adopted a Barbie persona. Ava Max, meanwhile, previously sampled Aqua’s classic “Barbie Girl” on her own 2017 track, “Not Your Barbie Girl.”

The album is set for release on July 21, the same day the movie premieres.

Madlib And Mark Ronson’s New Collaboration Is In The Can And Made From Recycling Plant Sounds

From conscious hip-hop to environmental consciousness, Madlib has dropped a new album featuring samples of sounds from the Coca-Cola recycling plant. Having teamed up with Mark Ronson, the two superproducers introduced Recycled Records in a new video narrated by rap veteran MC Lyte.

“It sounds very crazy and overstated to say it, but anything can become a sample, right? Ronson said in the video. “Like any sound, you can somehow manipulate in to a drum. The sounds and the rhythms and the pulses of sounds from everyday life can also be incredibly inspiring.”

In the video, we see both Madlib and Ronson in their studios, mixing, looping, and distorting sounds from the recycling plant — like the sound of crushing trash, and warping and reshaping bottles — into hip-hop-influenced instrumentals.

“It’s not everyday you get the opportunity to create music using objects found in everyday life to emulate new forms of sound,” Madlib said in a statement on the Coca-Cola website. “Recycled Records is an EP of original tracks made from the sounds of the closed loop recycling process.”

The album consists of seven unnamed tracks, five of which are Madlib beats, and the other two, Mark Ronson beats.

Mark Ronson Shares Amy Winehouse’s Raw ‘Back To Black’ Vocals On TikTok

TikTok is truly the gift that keeps on giving. For every goofy dance or pointless challenge or oddball meme that’ll make you consider giving up on society, throwing away your phone, and moving to the wilderness to live off the land unencumbered by the society that creates such foolishness, there’s at least one magic moment that makes everything worth it. Today, that moment was provided by superproducer Mark Ronson, who used the ability to engage with his fans (a truly criminal mere 100,000) to offer a tiny glimpse of the late Amy Winehouse‘s genius musical process.

After introducing himself and explaining who he is — because TikTok is made up of mostly teens who wouldn’t really know, I guess — Ronson details how he wrote some of Winehouse’s most iconic songs, including “Back To Black.” “Amy came to my studio,” he begins. “And when we met for the first time, I instantly loved her. She played me all this great ’60s music and she left and I got very inspired and I came up with this piano.” After playing the chords from the song, Ronson then shares Amy’s raw vocals, which she sang after “scribbling” out the lyrics one room over after hearing the tune. Mark Ronson, Damon Albarn, And Wale Assist Our Flying Friends With Their New Benefit Song ‘Bird Calling’

Damon Albarn may have devoted a significant chunk of his life to gorillas (rather, Gorillaz), but they’re not the only animals he cares about: He and a bunch of other artists contributed to For The Birds: The Birdsong Project, a five-volume collection of 242 recordings inspired by birds and their singing, with proceeds benefiting the National Audubon Society.

The first volume rolled out today and among the new songs is “Bird Calling,” a collaboration between Albarn, Mark Ronson, and Wale. Ronson offers some rhythmic, midtempo production while Wale carries the song with rapped and Albarn provides the hook.

Project organizers say, “The Birdsong Project is a community dedicated to the protection of bird life, and to the celebration of the joy and mysteries of birdsong. We believe that birds — no matter feather or flock — are precious and inspiring and fundamental to our world. That a world without birds would be a world without freedom and flight and song. We believe birds matter. Are endangered. And need our help.”

Elvis Costello, who contributes to the endeavor, adds, “This should be so very obvious; without birds we would be knee-deep in worms, swarmed by bugs, the trees bereft of song. The least we can do is raise our voices in praise or lament. I’m grateful to [producer Randall Poster] for asking me to join his magnificent flock.”

Mark Ronson And Lucky Daye Premiere A Groovy New Collaboration, ‘Too Much’

Just months after dropping his highly acclaimed sophomore album, Candydrip, Lucky Daye has teamed up with Mark Ronson for a groovy new collab. On their single, “Too Much,” Lucky provides his sugary vocals, desiring an adventurous night with over a funky, jazzy Ronson-produced beat.

Lucky’s voice syncs perfectly with Ronsons’ thumping drums and intoxicating horns. “We’re just catching up to time,” he sings. “Let’s do too much, Something that we never tried, we never tried.”

Ronson and Lucky have previously collaborated on “Fly” from the 2019 Spies In Disguise soundtrack. For their most recent collab, the two teamed up with Audemars Piquet for their Syncing Sounds series, where they can be seen building “Too Much” from scratch.

“When I’m in the room with [Ronson], he doesn’t have to keep reminding me that he’s a legend, and I don’t even have to remind myself,” Lucky said. “I can literally vibe, and we vibe like it’s nothing, and every time we work, it’s just easy flowing.”

Ronson didn’t share an update in regards to an upcoming album, however, he recently revealed via Instagram that he is working on a book about his teens and his early 20s as a hip-hop DJ in New York City.

“It’s the story of an undocumented era before smartphones and VIP booths when ascending hip-hop moguls, artists, hustlers, models, posers, dancers and hard-working 9 to 5’ers all rubbed shoulders with each other in the club,” said Ronson in a post. “At that moment, New York was still the center of the music game and in the land of Biggie, Wu-Tang and Tribe, we celebrated them every night.”

Lizzo Reveals She’s Working With Mark Ronson While Sarcastically Insisting She’s Not Making An Album

Things on the Lizzo front have been relatively quiet as of late, but it turns out part of the reason for that is because she’s hard at work on new music. In fact, she just revealed that she’s working on new music with Mark Ronson and Philip Lawrence, the latter of whom is best known for his work as part of the songwriting/production team The Smeezingtons, alongside Bruno Mars and Ari Levine.

In a recent TikTok video, Lizzo responds to a comment that reads, “I HEAR AN ALBUM IS COMING.” Talking while moving the camera around to show off her surroundings, Lizzo lays the sarcasm on thick and says, “A album? Absolutely not, I’m not making no f*ckin’ album! I’m not in a studio. This isn’t Mark Ronson. This isn’t a whole board. I’m not hanging out with songwriters like [Lawrence]. [laughs] I’m not making a f*ckin’ album! Where you get that from?”

It would make sense for Lizzo to have new music out soon, considering she has a busy summer and fall ahead of her: She’s set to perform at festivals like Bonnaroo, Firefly, and the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival.
