Nicki Minaj has roared back into the public eye with the release of her 5th studio album Pink Friday 2 earlier this month. The project was her first new studio album in 5 years and came in on a massive wave of hype from her devoted fanbase. Nicki didn’t hold anything back from the project including a trio of singles that had already reached chart success and a variety of high-profile features. Drake, J. Cole, Future, Lil Wayne, Lil Uzi Vert, and more appear on the project.
One of those features is from gospel singer Tasha Cobbs Leonard. She appears on the track “Blessings” which pops up near the end of the album. The genre switch-up ultimately netted Nicki a brand new achievement on the charts. The song hit number one on this week’s edition of the Hot Gospel Songs chart, the first time Nicki has topped this specific chart. The song marks Leonard’s 5th time reaching the very top of Hot Gospel Songs chart. It’s one of numerous charts that were rocked by the release of Pink Friday 2. Pink Friday 2 also had an impressive impact on the Hot 100. 14 of the album’s 22 tracks made an appearance on this week’s chart. Three of the songs cracked the top 50. They were led by “Everybody” featuring Lil Uzi Vert which debuted inside the top 30. The number are particularly impressive given how much Christmas music dominates the Hot 100 this time of year. Christmas songs make up the majority of the Top 50 on this weeks chart.
Where the album made its most dominant impression was on the Billboard 200 where it stormed to a commanding first week debut. The album debuted at the number one spot after pushing more than 200k units in its first week. That total is enough to place it among the ten biggest first-week debuts of 2023. SZA, ScHoolboy Q, Jay Rock, and several other Top Dawg Entertainment (TDE) artists performed at the label’s 10th annual Christmas concert at the Nickerson Gardens Housing Project in Watts, California on Tuesday and Wednesday. Jay Rock, who grew up at Nickerson Gardens, served as the host for the two-day event. Watts previously honored him with a key to the city back in 2019.
“I grew up here and for people to see us come back and give back, it’s a blessing,” Jay Rock said in a statement. “I was one of these kids out here too. This lets them know that they can do this too. If there’s a kid out there trying to strive for something great, it’s motivation that no matter where you come from, you can make it out if you stay dedicated.”

For SZA, the performance comes as she continues to prepare for the release of her next effort, Lana. While the project initially began as a traditional deluxe version of her 2022 album, SOS, SZA admitted to Variety back in November that it was starting to feel more like its own full project. “It became more than I thought. It was gonna be something really soft because I had made all my screaming points [on ‘SOS’], and I just wanted to glide and not think [too much], and just get out of my own head. I was so happy to say some shit that didn’t mean a fucking thing. But now it’s definitely turning it into its own album. I guess I could drop another album randomly, because no one’s actually expecting that from me right now,” she told the outlet.
Lately, Cardi B has been wrapped up in quite a bit of drama involving her and Offset’s breakup. The split has led to plenty of speculation, with cheating rumors running rampant in recent days. The “Bodak Yellow” performer has taken the time to give back amid the debacle, however, attending a charity event earlier this week.
The event, hosted by the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation, took place on Tuesday (December 19) in New York. The foundation aims to provide economically disadvantaged children with presents around the holidays. Cardi appeared to be in good spirits at the event, smiling and posing with fans for a good cause. Clearly, Cardi wasn’t about the let the drama stop her from attending, and supporters are glad to see her out and about wearing a smile.
After all, it was only a few days ago that followers saw the hitmaker driven to tears on Instagram Live, going in on her ex for his alleged wrongdoings. “He likes to play games with me. He knows that I’m at my house because he knows I am not doing my most. I’ve been sparing you, b*tch a** n***a. Your b*tch a** album is sh*t. F*cking doing me dirty after so many years that I helped your motherf*cking a**. Not even a f*cking thank you,” she said during the stream. Of course, fans followed suit, and have been bombarding the former Migo with hate as of late.
While it remains unclear whether or not the former couple with ever reconcile, it looks like they may have to at least be civil with one another in the near future. Earlier this week, it was reported that the two of them are scheduled to perform at the same venue on New Year’s Eve. DJ Khaled has a brand-new album coming out next year. Overall, fans are very excited for this project. Just like with any Khaled album, you can expect there to be quite a few features here. Of course, those are going to be massive features, and even Drake is going to be part of it. It seems like he will have at least two features on the album, which is a huge deal. Either way, the artist will be looking to roll this album out soon, and we are intrigued. Hopefully, he is able to deliver to the fans.
In the meantime, Khaled is living his best life as a dad. He and his wife are raising two kids right now, and they have been proud parents. Of course, Asahd was their first child together. Overall, Asahd became famous right away thanks to his appearance on album covers and even album names. That said, it seems like Khaled isn’t as public with the kids as he once was. Regardless, if one of them does something that makes him proud, he flaunts it. That is exactly what he did recently as Asahd got a school award.
Asahd was student of the month and it was announced in an assembly room with all of the parents present. As soon as Asahd won, Khaled rushed to the stage to hug his son. The teacher presenting the award seemed to be pretty taken aback by all of it. Even some of the parents didn’t seem too impressed with the display. After all, this was supposed to be Asahd’s moment. Regardless, Khaled is a proud father and he is content with showcasing that in his own way. Overall, you have to admire it.

Seven-year-old Heiress’ new holiday track “What Does Christmas Mean To You?” got some airtime on Monday, and the proud father couldn’t help but boast. He shared a clip of himself driving as the song played in the vehicle, adding a heartfelt caption.

With the joy of the new year came the news that Macaulay Culkin and Brenda Song had gotten engaged. A source told People that “Macaulay and Brenda have loved being together as a family since welcoming Dakota. The engagement is the natural next step for them. They are excited for their future together.”
Come September, Brenda Song spoke to People about her and Culkin planning their nuptials. “Wedding planning is so expensive and it takes up so much time,” she said. “Being a new mom, we’re so busy. It feels so convenient to be able to sit down and be able to get everything done all at once.”

Culkin and Song welcomed their second child in March, naming the baby boy Carson. Nine months later, Song and their two sons joined Culkin as he received a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame. While giving his speech, the actor teared up as he showered Song with some beautiful words. “You are absolutely everything. You’re my champion,” he said. The actor continued by referring to Song as “not only the best woman I’ve ever known, you’re the best person I’ve ever known.”
Big Sean says that he doesn’t consider the leaked Kendrick Lamar song that mentions him by name a diss. Speaking with TMZ about the unreleased track, he explained that he would’ve fired back with a response had he considered it one.
“Ain’t no diss,” Sean quickly remarked when the outlet asked about it. As for his current relationship with Lamar, he says they’re cool. “Of course. If it was a diss, it would have been a diss. If it was a diss, it would have been another diss.” Altogether, Sean appeared to be in good spirits while discussing the lyrics.

As for the track in question, Lamar targets many more artists besides just Sean. “F*ck subliminals, I put you on the roll call/ French Montana speaking on me in interviews/ Very cynical, dry hating something I don’t approve/ Jay Electronica put silencers on my Grammy night/ Another dead prophet hoping the God’ll give him life,” Kendrick raps. “Big Sean keep sneak dissin,’ I let it slide/ I think his false confidence got him inspired/ I can’t make them respect you, baby, it’s not my job/ You finally famous for who you date, not how you rhyme (boy). Cute-ass raps, get your puberty up/ Then make you a classic album before you come at us/ Drake and Meek Mill beef might got you gassed up/ But I’m a whole ‘nother beast, I really f*ck you up.” It appears that the lyrics stem from an alternate version of “Pandemic,” which landed on Lamar’s Black Panther soundtrack.

HoneyKomb Brazy was arrested in Alabama earlier this week following a traffic stop, and is now facing drug and gun charges. According to jail records obtained by XXL, the rapper was arrested on Monday morning, and charged with possession of a controlled substance and a pistol. Further details about his arrest are not available at the time of writing. It’s clear, however, that the incident will only complicate his ongoing legal battle.
Last month, HoneyKomb Brazy was released from prison after serving 30 months behind bars. Only days later, he returned to turn himself in for allegedly exposing himself to a police officer back in 2021. This only scratches the surface of the Alabama native’s legal trouble, however. In 2020, the artist was sentenced to 15 years for possession of a firearm as a felon. He was later released after serving 18 months. In July of 2021, he was booked once again for violating his probation after authorities spotted him in music videos with guns and drugs.
While he was serving his sentence in 2021, the performer’s grandparents died as the result of a house fire. New details emerged the next year, and investigators alleged that the incident took place due to a Facebook post from OMB Peezy. Terrance Watkins, Jamarcus Chambers, and Patrick Lewis were charged with their murder. They’re accused of firing multiple shots into the home under drug kingpin Darrin Southall’s orders. Prosecutors believe that Watkins was upset by Peezy’s Facebook post, and later came up with a plan to “hurt Jones.”
“A likely scenario is that the gunfire resulted in the explosion of an oxygen tank, which in turn would have caused the explosion of other oxygen tanks in the house, which would lead to the fire,” attorney Louis Walker said of the alleged attack. Playboi Carti’s recent comeback has fans unbelievably excited. He’s recently released a series of new singles with accompanying music videos on YouTube. Even though the tracks haven’t hit streaming yet that hasn’t stopped fans from listening to them and sharing them online. In fact, there’s so much renewed interest in Playboi Carti that his 2020 album Whole Lotta Red returned to the charts this week as fans revisit the project in anticipation of what’s coming next.
Carti has also returned to social media where he’s made repeated posts to his Instagram story in particular. A lot of the posts have been logos of unclear and loosely defined projects but occasionally there’s something more concrete. But there’s also examples of Carti getting even more abstract and he shared another one today. In a recent story post he showed off a screenshot of three texts made to look like they’re sent to him by god. The texts read “Biggest in the world,” “You’re the best of all time,” and “the greatest.” Check out the bizarre post below.
Among Playboi Carti’s new singles is the breakout hit “2024.” The song features production from Kanye West among others and the music video has already racked up over 12 million views. Today (December 20), Drake treated fans to a music video for “You Broke My Heart,” a highlight from the recently released Scary Hours Edition of his For All The Dogs album. And there are some serious surprises.
Is Morgan Wallen Featured On Drake’s “You Broke My Heart?”
While Morgan Wallen is not featured on the song itself, viewers who started the music video will find the country singer having dinner with Drake. The two discuss the ways they were hurt by their exes but have no idea what else is in store.
Drake and Wallen go to head home from the restaurant, only to be blown up as the car explodes. The two women that play their exes then carry the rest of the video doing a lip-sync to the track.
Before Wallen’s appearance in the video, it didn’t seem he had much of a relationship with Drake. He previously took over Drake’s record of the most simultaneous entries on the Billboard Hot 100. And there was a Delaware DJ who made a viral mashup of Wallen’s “Thinking About Me” with Lil Wayne’s “Right Above It” (which features Drake). But that was the closest the two came in the news to interacting… Until now.
