Chloe X Halle Rock Elegant Dresses For The VMAs

Slaying sisters and superior singers Chloe Bailey and Halle Balley know how to dress for any event. They could make sweatpants and oversized t-shirts look like the hottest trend in the fashion industry. While they would never pull up to an award show wearing that, both of them stunned once again. The VMAs last night brought out a ton of stars. Offset was there to support his girl, Cardi B, for her “Bongos” performance.” Another was Justin Timberlake. He got involved with Megan Thee Stallion in a controversial interaction that has everyone talking and trying to break down what happened.

However, Halle and Chloe were there having a great time it seems with no drama, for now. The two were in attendance to enjoy the festivities and to hand out some trophies to some lucky artists. Chloe x Halle were asked to be on the cast of presenters for the 2023 MTV VMAs, a big honor for the lovely ladies. Of course, they put on their very best for national television.

Both shared their photoshoots to their Instagram accounts on the night of the event and they look drop-dead gorgeous. First, you will see Halle pulling off a zesty orange dress that has gold accents to match her high heels. Her caption reads, “#vmas 🧡✨” Then, Chloe contrasts her twin’s bright colors with a darker fit. She dons a midnight blue dress with some silver accents. Her caption boldly says, “b*tch i said what i said,” possibly in reference to Doja Cat’s song “Pain The Town Red.”

What are your initial thoughts on Chloe and Halle Bailey’s outfits for the 2023 MTV VMAs? Were they the best-dressed celebrities at the award show? Whose dress is better, Halle’s or Chloe’s? Saweetie Roasted For Bone Dress And Teleprompter Mishap

Last night was the VMAs and there were a ton of massive artists at the event. Overall, this is one of those awards shows that both the artists and the fans love. There have been some iconic moments at the Video Music Awards over the years, and that has not changed. When it comes to female rapper representation, there was a ton last night. For instance, Nicki Minaj was the host. Moreover, the likes of Doja Cat, Megan Thee Stallion, Cardi B, and even Ice Spice were also there. Furthermore, we also got to see none other than Saweetie.

In terms of clothing, Saweetie definitely had one of the more interesting looks of the entire evening. Below, you can see that she had on a pink dress that matched the theme of the carpet. Additionally, there was a huge bone sticking through the dress up near the collar. In the eyes of many, this was something that could be compared to The Flinstones. Although we imagine that is exactly what Saweetie was going for when she put the look together.

Metro Boomin Performs At VMAs, Teases Future Project, And Pays Tribute To His Mother

Metro Boomin is on an unprecedented winning streak right now. After taking over the backend of 2022 with the release of his incredible HEROES & VILLAINS tape, it seems like there is nothing that is going to get in the way of Metro’s dominance. He swung into the recording booth to produce the soundtrack for the Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse film. Now, we have two of the most-anticipated releases maybe of the past five years, with his two collaboration projects. One of those is his project with Future, which has been teased relentlessly up until this point. We got more confirmation at the VMAs last night.

According to Fader, right before Future joined Metro Boomin on stage to perform their hit, “Superhero (Heroes & Villains),” the producer gave the crowd another update. “MTV VMA 2023 what we doin? Me and Pluto album on the way,” Metrooo shouted out to the crowd. He hovered about the stage behind the DJ booth, as the Atlanta trap rap superstar spit his verses. Then, right before the beat switch on “Superhero,” Future exited stage left so three other artists could take the stage.

Metro Boomin And More Perform “Superhero (Heroes & Villains)” And “Calling” At VMAs: Watch

The hit song “Calling” from the Spider-Verse album was up next. Swae Lee, followed by NAV, and then A Boogie Wit da Hoodie, came together to put on a laid-back show for the fans. The phone flashlights were waving in the crowd as all three put in a nice performance. It was touching and low-key, but there was a reason both of these songs were chosen by Metro. Uproxx got word that he was paying tribute to his late mother, Leslie Wayne.

What are your initial thoughts on Metro Boomin’s performances of “Superhero (Heroes & Villains)” and “Calling” at the 2023 MTV VMAs? Which song was put on better? Megan Thee Stallion’s Morning-After Video Explains Just What Happened With Justin Timberlake At The 2023 MTV VMAs

For a minute, it looked like there was some beef going down at last night’s (September 12) 2023 MTV VMAs (aside from Selena Gomez and Chris Brown). A video of a backstage interaction between Megan Thee Stallion and Justin Timberlake showed Meg pointing her finger and wagging it at Timberlake while she sported a seemingly unhappy facial expression.

It appears things weren’t as they seemed, though. Later, reports surfaced that Timberlake said to Megan, “It’s so nice to meet you,” to which the rapper responded, “No no, this don’t count, this don’t count, we gotta meet proper.”

A video that Meg shared on TikTok this morning seems to further prove that everything is good between Meg and JT, and that the supposed beef between them was just a big misunderstanding. The video — set to Do As Infinity’s “Fukai Mori,” which was previously used as an ending theme for the Inuyasha anime series — shows Meg and Timberlake hanging out backstage, smiling and laughing as they enjoy a friendly conversation.

Meg also included what appears to be an explanation for the video that sparked feud rumors, writing in her post’s caption, “I just talk with my hands lol [raised hand emoji] see ya next time @Justin Timberlake.”

Sexyy Red Reveals Why She Looked Bored At The VMAs

Sexyy Red is someone who has been having a massive moment in the music industry right now. Overall, she is actually quite beloved by the fans. Although some believe her music lacks depth, others love the approach she takes to songwriting. She has quite a few bangers out there, and she also has a loveable personality. At this point, it feels like she can absolutely do no wrong. Moreover, her efforts have gotten her invited to awards shows, such as the MTV Video Music Awards.

Yes, that’s right, in her first year on the scene, Sexyy Red was invited to the VMAs. This is always a huge night for music, and the fans at home are usually the ones who get the most out of it. Regardless, Sexyy was there and she was wearing a cute pink dress that fans seemed to enjoy quite a bit. However, during the actual show, it appeared as though she was bored of what was happening. This subsequently led to viral photos of her looking a bit annoyed at what was going down. Luckily, she took to Twitter to reveal what truly happened.

Sexyy Red Reveals What Happened

Essentially, the rapper was just very hungry. At multiple points during the night, she took to Twitter to showcase her displeasure with the lack of food that was on display. She figured there was going to be a lot more to choose from. However, the only thing being offered were some drinks here and there. Needles to say, the artist just wanted the night to end so that she could go out and get some sort of food. If only they could have let the guests Uber some food over to the venue.

Perhaps Sexyy Red will be the catalyst for the VMAs to go out and get some much-needed food for its guests, in the future. After all, it is a long show that ends with people getting very hungry. Let us know what you thought of the Video Music Awards, in the comments section below. Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for more news and updates from around the music world.

Selena Gomez Couldn’t Help But Make A Face When Hearing A Chris Brown Nomination At The 2023 MTV VMAs

Earlier this year, Chlöe faced (and later addressed) criticism for collaborating with the controversial Chris Brown on her album In Pieces, on the song “How Does It Feel.” Regardless, the collab found some success and landed itself a nomination at last night’s (September 12) 2023 MTV VMAs. That doesn’t mean everybody was happy about it though: As Selena Gomez sat in the Video Music Awards audience, she couldn’t help but make her feelings known.

As the nominees in the Best R&B category were announced, an audience camera was fixed on Selena Gomez (and “Calm Down” collaborator Rema seated next to her). Nominated in that category was “How Does It Feel” and as that was read, Gomez’s demeanor noticeably changed. Before, she had a subtle smile and was holding her hands together up in front of her, as though waiting to applaud. When she heard Brown’s name, though, she put her hands on her lap, looked down, frowned, and made a clear grimace. When Yung Bleu and Nicki Minaj’s “Love In The Way” was announced next, though, Gomez clapped as her smile returned.

SZA’s “Shirt” ended up winning that award, by the way. Also nominated aside from the aforementioned were Alicia Keys’ “Stay” Feat. Lucky Daye; Metro Boomin, The Weeknd, 21 Savage, and Diddy’s “Creepin’ (Remix)”; and Toosii’s “Favorite Song.”

Meanwhile, Gomez and Rema’s “Calm Down” was up for three awards and won one of them, in the Best Afrobeats category. This also isn’t the first time in recent days Gomez has drawn some attention for reacting from the audience.

Check out the video of Gomez’s reaction above.

Cardi B And Megan Thee Stallion Go Tropical With Their Performance Of “Bongos” At The VMAs

The MTV VMAs always draw plenty of attention from viewers and last night, of course, a lot of big headlines are being talked about. Justin Timberlake and Megan Thee Stallion’s conversation is already a hot topic, as well as Taylor Swift racking up more awards for her trophy case. However, another storyline is Cardi B and Megan’s “Bongos” performance. This was the first time the electric duo had been able to show off the viral track to a live audience and it did not disappoint.

Firstly, Cardi B made her extravagant entrance on a lowering down from a platform on top of a bright crystal ball. The backdrop of the stage included some fitting palm trees, shirtless men playing the bongos, and background dancers donning blue and green dresses. Cardi and Megan also shared similar outfits creating a cohesive look. Megan did not show up on stage until her verse began and eventually the two reconnected in the middle of all of the fiery dancing.

Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion Perform “Bongos” Live At The VMAs: Watch

There is a running joke going around online of the camera cutting to Taylor Swift and Ice Spice a lot, and sure enough they showed both of them vibing to the tropical performance. Additionally, right at the end of “Bongos,” Cardi B’s man, Offset was all smiles as he looked on from the crowd. Fans were going absolutely bonkers for the live debut of the song. Next year, there is a good chance this track will go on to rake in quite a few awards.

What are your initial thoughts on Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion’s performance of “Bongos” at the MTV VMAs? Was this the best song performance of the night? Do you think this song will win awards at next year’s VMAs? We want to hear what you have to say about all of this. Metro Boomin Dedicated A Haunting 2023 MTV VMAs Performance With Future And Swae Lee To His Late Mother

Metro Boomin brought a who’s-who of hip-hop superstars to his performance at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards, overseeing the proceedings from a DJ booth hovering far above the stage. First, Future appeared to perform their song “Superhero” on a mist-covered stage. Then, Swae Lee popped out to sing the Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse soundtrack standout “Calling.” He was joined in short order by Nav, then by A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie (whose name got mangled by announcers and presenters all night. How hard is it to say “A Boogie?”). The performance ended with a loving dedication to Metro’s mom, Leslie Wayne, who was killed last year.

Their performance closed out an eventful night that saw exuberant performances from the likes of Olivia Rodrigo, Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion, Doja Cat, Nicki Minaj, Stray Kids, and more. The night also saw an reunion of sorts for NSYNC — although Megan Thee Stallion might not have been completely impressed.

However, because of the ongoing WGA strike, it was pretty clear that show didn’t have as much room for the scripted moments that have made the VMAs must-see TV in prior years. That left more room for music and awards, making the three-hour show feel much shorter than it actually was.

You can watch Metro’s performance above.

Nicki Minaj Previewed A ‘Pink Friday 2’ Song And Performed ‘Last Time I Saw You’ At The 2023 MTV VMAs

Nicki Minaj has a new album coming soon, so what better time for her to return to the VMA stage? Nicki took a break from her hosting duties — one year after being honored as a Video Vanguard — to perform her new single, “Last Time I Saw You.” As the song itself is relatively intimate in comparison to NIcki’s last few chart toppers, her performance was suitably stripped-down, opening with Nicki standing at the mic in a billowing gown — which she slowly doffed as she continued her performance.

Then, at the close of the song, she decided to hit the audience with a new song from the upcoming Pink Friday 2. “I like my hundreds blue,” she declared on the hook, while issuing combative lyrics demanding acknowledgment for her trendsetter status. There are definitely going to be some Barbz taking this thing way too seriously by tomorrow morning and I’m already exhausted — but the beat’s nice and it’s Nicki at her battle rapping best.

Nicki is also one of the artists nominated for awards this evening, including Video Of The Year and Hip-Hop Video Of The Year for “Super Freaky Girl,” R&B Video Of The Year for “Love In The Way” with Yung Bleu, Artist Of The Year, and Song Of The Summer. Watch her performance above and keep up with the VMAs on Uproxx here.

Doja Cat Gave A Sensational Performance Of ‘Attention,’ ‘Paint The Town Red,’ And ‘Demons’ At The 2023 MTV VMAs

Doja Cat‘s new album Scarlet is almost here, and hers was one of the most highly anticipated performances of the 2023 MTV VMAs, especially after her sexy spiderweb look on the pink carpet.

It’s impossible to prepare for Doja. She performed most of her Scarlet single “Attention” in the audience all dressed up as a businesswoman, followed by creepy dancers painted in all red and looking quite devilish. On the stage, she went straight into the viral, infectious “Paint The Town Red,” which just recently became the first rap song of the year to reach No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Then, she smoothly transitioned into the cheeky “Demons.” During her flow, she unbuttoned her shirt as papers flew all around the stage. She finished the song with a big smile, knowing she owned the room.

About Scarlet, she recently said, “One thing that I wanted to mention was that I have music that came out — these three songs came out, these were the first three songs I made during the period that I was making music,” she said. “And then there’s a second half where I went to Malibu and I made all this music in ten days. That half is very different from the first half.”

Watch clips of her performance below.
