Timothee Chalamet Shuts Down Selena Gomez Kylie Jenner Golden Globe Beef Rumors

Over the weekend the Golden Globes took place marking the beginning of a run of high-profile award shows over the next few months. While there’s always drama surrounding the awards themselves, the show ended up more controversial than many expected. The tone was set for the night during a disastrous opening monologue that was blasted by fans for having bad jokes and even worse improvisations.

But the biggest stars of the night turned out to be Timothee Chalamer and Kylie Jenner. The pair have been dating for a few months now after pushing through early rumors over their connection this summer. It’s already been controversial for the pair in the meantime as they’ve fought off breakup rumors and even a diss from Jenner’s ex Travis Scott on his new album UTOPIA. In the wake of the pairs public intimacy making the rounds after the Golden Globes, even more drama emerged. That all spawned from a video of Selena Gomez talking to Taylor Swift.

Timothee Chalamet Denies Beef

The new viral video of Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift chatting doesn’t even feature any discernable audio. But keen-eyed fans trying to lip-read and gauge facial reactions think they’ve figured it out. The most common speculation is that Gomez is telling them a story about trying to get a picture with Chalamet and being denied by Jenner. That rumor spread online for days causing a spat of rumors about potential beef between the two that either already existed or was sparked from that encounter.

In the wake of the beef rumors, TMZ caught up with Timothee Chalamet. While he’s at first resistant to answering any questions about the whole thing, eventually he caves. In the video they recorded he does eventually deny that there are any hard feelings between Gomez and Jenner, though he seems reluctant to give any comment. Do you believe Timothee Chalamet when he claims that there’s no beef between Kylie Jenner and Selena Gomez? Let us know in the comment section below.

Selena Gomez Announces Plans to Retire from Music

Selena Gomez Announces Plans to Retire from Music

Selena Gomez‘s next album may very well likely be her last. This week, the pop artist announced her tentative plans to “retire” from music so that she could focus on acting.

Speaking to hosts Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes, and Will Arnett on their SmartLess podcast, Gomez spoke about how she had always found it difficult to strike a balance between music and acting going all the way back to her time on Wizards of Waverly Place.

In addition to the busy schedule that comes with touring, she noted that the pressure to perform and do multiple things eventually took a toll on her mental health, stating “I went to a mental institute and canceled one of my tours” and continuing to explain that “it just got to me because I love working and it distracts me from bad things.” She also noted that acting has always been her primary passion and that music was originally a hobby that she ended up turning into a profession.

However, she noted that she isn’t retiring from music…..just yet. “I do feel like I have one more album in me, but I would probably choose acting,” she said. While she didn’t reveal any specifics about a potential upcoming album, it’s likely that like her past albums, it will feature other pop and hip-hop artists. On past albums, she has collabed with big names in the hip-hop industry such as Gucci Mane, ASAP Rocky, Kid Cudi, and Cardi B as well as major pop artists such as Coldplay, Blackpink, Katy Perry, and more.

Selena Gomez Follows SZA On Instagram After Justin Bieber Collab

Is there anything Selena Gomez can’t do? The black-haired beauty’s resume is incredibly impressive even dating back to her childhood, when she appeared on Barney. Since then, she’s brought more serious roles to life, such as Alex Russo on Disney’s Wizards of Wavery Place, or Mabel Mora in Only Murders in the Building. She’s also constantly raising money for mental health thanks to her Rare Beauty makeup brand, and making her social media followers smile (not to mention thirst after her) with regular selfies. Apart from all of that, Gomez has also made a name for herself in the music industry, with her last album, Rare, arriving back in 2020.

As she works hard at preparing the follow-up to that, we’ve heard Gomez’s voice shine on “Single Soon” earlier this summer, marking her first release of 2023. It’s unclear if she has any collaborations in the works for her new album, but internet sleuths did catch her showing love to another musical icon, which could suggest that something is in the works between them.

Selena Gomez Lets SZA Know She’s a Fan

On Sunday (September 17), the former child star followed SOS songbird SZA on IG. Interestingly, the online connection comes just days after she joined forces with Gomez’s ex, Justin Bieber, on the acoustic version of her “Snooze” song. Prior to that, she and the Canadian also linked up for the flirtatious music video. Obviously, a follow doesn’t confirm that the two are planning on hitting the studio together, but seeing as they’ve both got music on the way, anything is possible.

There’s still much that remains unknown about Selena Gomez’s third studio album, but pop fans are eager to hear what she’s got up her sleeve. A few months back, rumours suggested that she’s channelling her inner Rihanna by taking inspiration from one of the Bad Gal’s earliest LPs. Read more about that at the link below, and check back later for more music/pop culture news updates.

Chris Brown Shares Telling Message After Selena Gomez VMAs Drama

Let’s be real, what’s an award show without at least a little bit of drama? After a busy NYFW, countless artists and socialites recently made their way to the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards. Nicki Minaj was notably on hosting duty for the evening. She also debuted a new song from her upcoming Pink Friday 2 album that still has the Barbz talking. Another moment pop culture fanatics are still discussing is Selena Gomez’s apparent reaction to hearing Chris Brown’s name called during the event.

The Wizards of Waverly Place actress looked unimpressed, to say the least, in a circulating video of her face when Breezy’s name was read off on the list of nominees for Best R&B Artist. As HipHopDX reports, Gomez initially tweeted, “Who cares, lol,” when the moment first went viral. Since then, she’s also declared on her Instagram Story that she’ll “never be a meme again.”

Chris Brown isn’t Phased by What Went Down at the 2023 VMAs

It’s taken a few days for Brown to chime in on the situation. However, his own IG Story lit up with a telling message ahead of the weekend. “I’M THE GOAT and you know it 😏❤,” the father of three wrote over a black screen. He’s not bothered by the situation, no matter how much trolls want to see a feud break out. Even if the singer’s post wasn’t about Gomez directly, at least we know that his confidence is sky-high stepping into R&B season.

Try as she might to stay out of trouble at the VMAs, Selena Gomez unfortunately still landed at the centre of controversy. Regardless of how people feel about her lack of a poker face, the Disney Channel alum is focusing her energy on making new music and growing her Rare Beauty brand. Read more about her latest single, which is reportedly about her ex, The Weeknd, at the link below. Make sure to check back later for more music/pop culture news updates.

Selena Gomez Couldn’t Help But Make A Face When Hearing A Chris Brown Nomination At The 2023 MTV VMAs

Earlier this year, Chlöe faced (and later addressed) criticism for collaborating with the controversial Chris Brown on her album In Pieces, on the song “How Does It Feel.” Regardless, the collab found some success and landed itself a nomination at last night’s (September 12) 2023 MTV VMAs. That doesn’t mean everybody was happy about it though: As Selena Gomez sat in the Video Music Awards audience, she couldn’t help but make her feelings known.

As the nominees in the Best R&B category were announced, an audience camera was fixed on Selena Gomez (and “Calm Down” collaborator Rema seated next to her). Nominated in that category was “How Does It Feel” and as that was read, Gomez’s demeanor noticeably changed. Before, she had a subtle smile and was holding her hands together up in front of her, as though waiting to applaud. When she heard Brown’s name, though, she put her hands on her lap, looked down, frowned, and made a clear grimace. When Yung Bleu and Nicki Minaj’s “Love In The Way” was announced next, though, Gomez clapped as her smile returned.

SZA’s “Shirt” ended up winning that award, by the way. Also nominated aside from the aforementioned were Alicia Keys’ “Stay” Feat. Lucky Daye; Metro Boomin, The Weeknd, 21 Savage, and Diddy’s “Creepin’ (Remix)”; and Toosii’s “Favorite Song.”

Meanwhile, Gomez and Rema’s “Calm Down” was up for three awards and won one of them, in the Best Afrobeats category. This also isn’t the first time in recent days Gomez has drawn some attention for reacting from the audience.

Check out the video of Gomez’s reaction above.

Morgan Wallen, Taylor Swift, And SZA Lead The ‘Billboard’ Songs Of The Summer List For 2023

As summer comes to an end, music fans everywhere have one question on their mind: What was the song of summer? In 2023, the song of summer can be defined using all sorts of criteria: What was popular on streaming apps? What went viral on TikTok? What was inescapable on the radio?

Today (September 5), Billboard dropped their Top Songs Of The Summer 2023 list, which factors in all of this data (specifically, chart data from June 10 to September 9).

At No. 10 is Gunna, who made a return to music this year after being released from jail on racketeering charges. His latest single, “F*kumean” has proven to be a hit, as his return has proven polarizing.

Occupying spots 9 and 8 are SZA, with her hit singles, “Kill Bill” and “Snooze,” respectively. Also taking two consecutive spots is Taylor Swift. At No. 7, Swift pops in with her remix of “Karma,” which features Ice Spice. At No. 6 is “Cruel Summer,” which was originally released in 2019 on Swift’s seventh studio album, Lover.

Lil Durk and J. Cole came in at No. 5, with their collaboration, “All My Life.”

Flowers” by Miley Cyrus, which was released this past January, continues to be an anthem for the summertime. This one came in at No. 4. Rema‘s remix of “Calm Down,” which features Selena Gomez, earned the No. 3 spot.

This summer proved to be a country music summer, as Luke Combs‘ cover of Tracy Chapman‘s “Fast Car” made its way over to No. 2. And at the top spot is Morgan Wallen‘s “Last Night.”

You can see the list below.

Selena Gomez Speaks Up About Rumors That ‘Single Soon’ Is About A Certain Famous Ex Of Hers

Selena Gomez’s new song “Single Soon” is about preparing for a breakup, so naturally, there’s been tons of speculation and theorizing about whether the song is inspired by one of Gomez’s famous exes. Some believe the track is about The Weeknd and the song’s opening verse certainly helps fuel that speculation: “Should I do it on the phone? / Should I leave a little note / In the pocket of his coat? Yeah / Maybe I’ll just disappear / I don’t wanna see a tear / And the weekend’s almost here.”

Gomez is putting all that to rest, though. Over the weekend, Hollywood Life shared an Instagram post that made note of the speculation about The Weeknd, and Gomez commented, “Couldn’t be more false.”

The Weeknd was on Gomez’s radar recently for a different reason: She caught wind of an AI-generated recording that made it sound like she was singing “Starboy.” She commented simply, “Scary.”

She also recently spoke about her classic hit “Who Says,” saying, “I was working with Disney at the time, and they were actually giving the song to another artist. I cried — I remember I was with my mom — because I loved the song so much. […] And so maybe it just didn’t work out with the other artist, but that was a gift to me that I did not know I needed. I love that song, and it has carried with me through my whole career, and I fought for it. So to be honest, I, to this day, need to hear it.”
