Mustard Drops His Best Album Yet With “Faith Of A Mustard Seed”

Mustard’s hit-making ability cannot be questioned. He was one of the producers who defined the sound of the 2010s. He has too many classic singles to count. That being said, Mustard’s propensity for singles extended to his albums. He had solid solo outings, but nothing that lived up to his one-off collabs. Until now. Faith of a Mustard Seed, Mustard’s fourth album, is his best yet. The Los Angeles producer finally put together all the pieces and delivered a project that’s catchy as it is cohesive and consistent. There are legitimately too many standout moments to catch in one sitting.

Kirk Franklin provides a spoken word intro, and once the album gets going, it doesn’t slow down. “Up Down” chops up an 80s synth line into a superhero theme for the likes of Lil Yachty and 42 Dugg. The next track, “Pressured Up,” goes full G-funk with menacing verses from Vince Staples and ScHoolboy Q. Quavo and Rob49 help Mustard switch things up yet again with the string-heavy street anthem “One of Them Ones.” The Travis Scott-aided single “Parking Lot” is still one of the best songs here, but it’s a testament to Mustard’s sequencing that the sample-driven banger fits in with the rest of the material here. The album’s slower moments also stick the landing. Ty Dolla Sign sounds perfect on “A Song for Mama,” while Blxst skates over “Worth a Heartbreak.” There’s not a weak link in the tracklist, and that includes Mustard’s own bars on the epic closer, “Pray for Me.” Mustard is not only still here, but he may be entering his prime.

Lil Yachty Doubles Down On His Ian Co-Sign With ‘Hate Me’

You’d be forgiven for being unaware of 19-year-old Dallas rapper Ian. There’s an understandable generational disconnect when it comes to Gen Z and Alpha’s internet rap heroes. But look… it might be time to get familiar. Especially as he’s received the co-sign of Lil Yachty, the original point of generational divide between young millennials and their Gen X predecessors.

After bringing the buzzy teen artist out during his set to perform his breakout song “Magic Johnson” at Lyrical Lemonade’s Summer Smash last month, he doubled down on his support with “Hate Me,” a defiant new single that gives the young rapper plenty of space to show off his lyrical talents. The song is accompanied by a glitchy music video directed by Lyrical Lemonade’s AMD for a simple, yet effective platform for both rappers to boast and slag off their enemies.

So, who is Ian?

A SoundCloud producer turned rapper, Ian released his debut mixtape, Valedictorian, in May. Featuring a cover referencing the You Know I Had to Do It to Em meme hinting at a tongue-in-cheek posture (think a young Jack Harlow, but more ironic), the tape displayed a young talent very similar to rule-breaking predecessors like Yachty. A laughably bad review on Pitchfork probably did him more good than harm, especially as videos for “Magic Johnson” and “Figure It Out” (also a Lyrical Lemonade production) blew up on YouTube. With Lil Yachty’s backing, we’re likely to see a lot more of Ian in the future.

You can watch the video for “Hate Me” above.

Drake & Lil Yachty’s New Song Draws Mixed Reactions

Drake might be coming back with new music soon. After a first half of 2024 that the Toronto rapper would probably like to forget, it seems that he’s trying to get himself back on track. Popular Twitch streamer Kai Cenat previewed a new Drake song, featuring frequent collaborator Lil Yachty. Cenat and Drake are friends, with Cenat often supporting his new music by playing it on streams. Drake shouted him out on the track “First Person Shooter” with J. Cole, though not by name.

Drake and Yachty have collaborated a lot in recent years. Yachty appeared on the For All The Dogs track “Another Late Night,” released last year. Yachty also has production credits on For All The Dogs and the Grammy-nominated Her Loss, Drake’s joint album with 21 Savage. Drake cited Yachty’s influence as why For All The Dogs became what it did. Fans had a lot to say about the new snippet, which is currently untitled.

Drake & Lil Yachty Song On Kai Cenat’s Twitch Stream

“Man Drake saving the summer once again,” said one Instagram user. Another took the new snippet as an opportunity to make fun of Kendrick Lamar fans. “Meanwhile Kenny fans still listening to that burnt out ahh track,” the user said. If nothing else, Stephen Curry agrees with Lamar’s hit “Not Like Us” being “burnt out.” Some fans did not want to hear Yachty appear on the song. “Nahhhh we didn’t need lil boat on this one,” and “Song is fire without yachty part!!” said two other users. Lil Yachty has often divided opinion, and this latest snippet is no different.

Drake has done two joint albums in the past. First was What A Time To Be Alive, his hit album with Future and Metro Boomin that took 2015 by storm. In 2022, he released the aforementioned Her Loss with 21 Savage, which was nominated for Best Rap Album at the 2024 Grammy Awards. Considering Drake and Yachty’s recent history, a joint album between those two next does not seem like an unlikely destination. Are you here for a collaborative album between the two? Will that get Drake’s career back on track? Sound off in the comments.

Kai Cenat Played An Unreleased Drake And Lil Yachty Collab Live On His Stream

Drake seems to be putting his feud with Kendrick Lamar behind him. Since dropping “Family Matters,” currently his final contribution to the diss track swap, Drake has linked up with Sexyy Red on “U My Everything” and Camila Cabello on a couple new tracks. Now, the story continues via a new Lil Yachty collab.

Streaming icon Kai Cenat previewed an unreleased Drake/Yachty track on his stream last night (July 23). The song doesn’t have an official title, but some have dubbed it “Supersoak” or “Super Soaked”

Drake sings on the chorus (per Genius), “I’m watching the moves and playin’ it close / S.O.D. (Stacks on deck), super soaked / Rainy days isn’t hers, matchin’ coat / Jet so big, it feel like a boat, stayin’ afloat / I’m watching the moves and playin’ it close / S.O.D., super soaked / She was a hoe, but I ain’t gon’ judge, ’cause that was way before.”

Drake isn’t the only one who’s kept busy in 2024. Yachty started the year by dropping his psychedelic album Let’s Start Here in January. In June, he linked up with James Blake for a joint project, Bad Cameo. Beyond Blake, he also collaborated with everybody from Faye Webster to McDonald’s.

Kai Cenat Premieres New Drake And Lil Yachty Song During Live Stream

Kai Cenat has skin in the hip-hop game. At least, he’s notable enough to warrant a mention. Drake referenced the Twitch streamer by name on his Kendrick Lamar diss, “Push Ups.” He also showed love to Cenat during a 2023 show. “Make some noise for my brother Kai Cenat one time in here, you know,” the rapper told the Atlanta crowd. The two appear to be on good terms, but fans were still totally caught off guard on July 23, when Cenat played a previously unreleased collab between Drake and Lil Yachty.

The song doesn’t have an official title, but Kai Cenat lets the entire thing play while he reacts in real time. The Twitch streamer counts down from ten before premiering the song, which he seemingly had never heard before. The beat and smooth cadence of the opening verse is classic Drake, or at least, the Drake that fans have gotten in the 2020s. His flow is reminiscent of numerous tracks on Her Loss (2022) and For All the Dogs (2023). Mileage may vary. That being said, Kai Cenat loves it. He struts around the room while Drizzy makes reference to an unfaithful woman.

Drake And Lil Yachty Skate Over A Moody Instrumental

The rapper also drops the line “Cleopatra working at the Pyramid tonight.” This seems like a direct nod to Frank Ocean’s 2012 single “Pyramids.” There’s a brief instrumental break in between Drake and Yachty’s verse, and Kai Cenat grows impatient. “Where you at, Boat,” he asks. The rapper then hops on the track with his trademark vocal warble. Yachty doesn’t flow as smoothly as Drake, but his bizarre inflections are more in line with what his fans like. Overall, the untitled song is pleasantly catchy. Not a smash, but the kind of deep cut that could anchor the back end of an album.

The timing of the song’s premiere makes sense, given Drake’s recent remarks. The rapper recently told DJ Akademiks that he plans to get back to making hits. “This is him to me,” Ak told his viewers. “He says, ‘Yo Ak, I’m back to giving everybody who loves me what they love from me.’” There’s no word on when fans will get a CDQ version of this Yachty collab. In the meantime, though, Drake will appear on the new Gordo album Diamante, which is out July 27. Maybe the rapper has a 2024 comeback in him after all.

Lil Yachty Goes For The Jugular On “Lets Get On Dey A**”

Lil Yachty aptly named his new single “Lets Get On Dey A**”. While the subject matter mostly pertains to the grind to stealing somebody’s girl, the hidden meaning behind it why this title is so perfect. The polarizing Georgia rapper and singer has been on an absolute tear over the last year and a half. From Let’s Start Here. to songs like “Strike (Holster)” and “A Cold Sunday”, to his recent James Blake collab tape, Bad Cameo, he has been on the competition’s “A**” for sure. Produced by Cardo and Kyuro, it features a synth, kick drum, and bass heavy intro with Yachty’s warbly vocals looming in the background.

Overall, the single sounds like a mixture of Playboi Carti and ian of all artists. The latter is known for being influenced by Yeat. But with Yachty being seen working with him as of late, he might have borrowed some ideas from Valedictorian. Overall, the track is extremely well-produced, however this one of Yachty’s more inconsistent tracks as whole, sadly, His rapping performance is sort of all over the place and it feels like he has hard time finding a pocket. However, we still encourage you to check it out for yourself and see what you think. You can do so by watching the “Lets Get On Dey A**” music video, which features his fellow Concrete Boys members.

Lil Yachty Drops New Single, Visuals For “Let’s Get On Dey Ass”

unnamed 66

Lil Yachty has officially released his latest song “Let’s Get On Dey Ass” along with an accompanying music video. The new track highlights Yachty back in his rap bag at full force, weaving his melodic and whirly auto-tuned vocals over the track’s distorted 808s, howling synth lead, and bouncy hi-hats to deliver a high octane, bass heavy, rap anthem perfect for a festival mosh pit. Directed by Zhamak, the “Let’s Get On Dey Ass” music video shows Yachty and the Concrete Family dancing around the city, draped in luxurious matching vintage outfits and jewelry. Lofi VHS style shots of Yachty and his crew alternate with clips of the style icon shopping for another signature outfit along with a cameo from social media star and model, Teanna Trump. The new song comes on the heels of Yachty’s collaborative album with James BlakeBad Cameo, and follows their most recent visualizer for “Save The Savior.”

Lil Yachty Tell His Concrete Boys Crew ‘Let’s Get On Dey Ass’ With An Electrifying New Video

Earlier this year, Lil Yachty launched his record label, Concrete Rekordz, and signed his first act: The raucous, Atlanta-based crew Concrete Boys, which includes a collection of proteges Yachty believes can get hip-hop out of the “terrible state” he fretted over last year. To that end, he’s been releasing a slew of off-the-wall, free verse-style singles, including “A Cold Sunday,” “Something Ether,” and now, “Let’s Get On Dey Ass,” an electrifying track in the vein of fellow ATLien Playboi Carti’s amorphous, video gamey sound.

In the colorful video for the song, Yachty and the Boys (and Karrahbooo — I guess it’s like a “Storm from the X-Men” situation) vibe out and parade through a series of sparse tableaux sporting matching gear to show off their team spirit. They also demonstrate an astonishing array of complex high-fives, careen through the Georgia woods in a luxury SUV, and peruse racks of vacuum sealed fashion pieces. The vibe just screams good times and camaraderie, and suggests more boisterous and defiant hits to come.

Yachty isn’t just trying to save hip-hop, though; last month, he also teamed up with UK producer James Blake for an experimental collaborative album called Bad Cameo.

Bhad Bhabie Essential Songs

Ever since she became unexpectedly famous, Bhad Bhabie, or Danielle Bregoli, has grown from a viral internet star to a player in the rap game. What kicked it all off was her catchphrase, “Cash me ousside, how ’bout that?” on Dr. Phil, which turned her into an overnight sensation. Yet, instead of fading away as quickly as she blew up, she did the opposite. Bhabie turned her 15 minutes into a full-blown music career — signing with Atlantic Records when she was only 14. Known for her style and unapologetic demeanor, she consistently drops tracks that connect with fans.

Moreover, her discography reflects this growth. Each song shows a different side of Bhad Bhabie as an artist. She can make hits, too: With her first single being “These Heaux” to going platinum with “Hi Bich,” it’s clear that chart-topping music isn’t foreign territory. Collaborations alongside established names like Lil Yachty and Kodak Black prove just how versatile she really is. The tracks below mark growth in skill and placement within today’s rap scene overall. They truly demonstrate what it means to have ambition among such fierce competition levels today.

1. “Hi Bich” (2017)

“Hi Bich” is one of Bhad Bhabie’s most iconic tracks. Released in 2017, this single quickly became a fan favorite, showcasing her sassy attitude. The song’s beat and unforgettable chorus made it a staple in her discography. It also defined her place in the rap scene. Its triumph was further highlighted by its RIAA certification as a platinum record.

The music video for “Hi Bich” also significantly impacted the song. The song’s success helped dispel initial doubts about her longevity in the music industry, proving that she had the chops to make it as a rapper. “Hi Bich” remains a defining moment in her career, capturing the energy and defiance she has become known for.

2. “Gucci Flip Flops” Ft. Lil Yachty (2018)

Teaming up with Lil Yachty, Bhad Bhabie delivered another hit with “Gucci Flip Flops.” This track appeared in 2018, showing that she can keep up with established artists. It is a unique song, among other things, because of its silly words and lively beats, which show how much the singer has grown as an artist and her talent for making sing-along anthems. The RIAA gold certification it got represents its commercial success, hence cementing Bhad Bhabie’s position in rap.

The music video for “Gucci Flip Flops” also contributes to its catchiness with colorful imagery and appearances by Lil Yachty. Collaborating with him on this track showed what kind of big-name acts could be attracted to work alongside Bhad Bhabie at such early stages of her career. This also shows the depth of influence she had already gained within the industry. Besides being widely loved by fans who made it clear they wanted more hits like “Flip Flops,” this song proved that she has the potential to make mainstream records.

3. “Bestie” Ft. Kodak Black (2018)

“Bestie,” featuring Kodak Black, marks a notable chapter in Bhad Bhabie’s career. Released in 2018, the track explores themes of friendship and loyalty, showcasing a deeper, more reflective side of Bhad Bhabie. Kodak Black’s contribution adds a layer of grit and authenticity, creating a dynamic interplay between the two Florida artists. Moreoever, collaborating with Kodak Black brought additional attention to the song and demonstrated her ability to blend different rap styles into a cohesive and compelling piece.

4. “These Heaux” (2017)

As Bhad Bhabie’s debut single, “These Heaux” is a critical piece of her musical journey. Released in 2017, this track introduced her to the music world with a bang. The song’s catchy hook and confrontational lyrics quickly caught listeners’ attention, helping it climb the charts and reportedly making Bhad Bhabie the youngest female rapper to debut on the Billboard Hot 100.

The success of “These Heaux” was instrumental in securing Bhad Bhabie a multi-million dollar record deal with Atlantic Records. It highlighted her transition from a viral sensation to a serious artist. The music video perfectly complemented the song’s audacious spirit with its bold visuals and rebellious themes. “These Heaux” set the stage for Bhad Bhabie’s future in the industry, proving she had the talent and tenacity to back up her internet fame. This track remains a fan favorite and a testament to her ability to make a solid first impression.

5. “Do It Like Me” (2018)

“Do It Like Me” displays Bhad Bhabie’s confidence. Released in 2018, this song’s heavy bass production accentuates her resolve to create her niche within the music industry. The self-empowering tune shows how she asserts her personality over everyone else’s. Also, the music video for “Do It Like Me” augments what the song is all about by presenting Bhad Bhabie in different visually dazzling, high-energy contexts. The video’s lively visual style and energetic fight scenes also emphasize her magnetic stage presence and artistic direction. “Do It Like Me” reflects Bhad Bhabie’s belief in herself while serving as an anthem against conformity among people who may look up to her or identify with themselves through her music. This track solidifies not only her standing within rap but highlights how she can motivate young listeners, too – fearlessly approaching music creation that inspires others like never seen before
