Lil Durk may be a Platinum-selling rapper, but he’s also an entrepreneur.

The campaign is shot by Dana Scruggs and features Lil Durk, alongside OTF artist Doodie Lo and Durk’s DJ DJ Bandz. This partnership aims to reshape the narrative behind hip-hop jewelry, blending intimate artist storytelling with GLD’s signature iced-out aesthetics. Both Durk and GLD share the same values: creating from the ground up and standing on business.

Lil Durk shares, “This collection is a homage to our roots, our growth, and the family we’ve built along the way. It’s an invitation to our fans to share in this journey, to wear these pieces as symbols of resilience, unity, and personal growth.”

Anyone who’s a fan of Durk is aware of the trials and tribulations he had to overcome to get to where he is today, forging his own path of resilience and determination.

“The ‘Only The Family’ campaign transcends traditional fashion narratives, offering consumers not just a product but a piece of a shared journey, says GLD Founder and President, Christian Johnston. Johnston, who is also the master jeweler and head designer for GLD, continued “This campaign invites consumers to wear our pieces as a representation of their own stories, intertwined with the ethos of OTF and GLD. It’s this personal connection, this feeling of being part of the narrative of hustle and success, that sets GLD apart, fostering a community where each piece is a tangible link to the family we’ve built with our collaborators.”

Prices for the collection start at $148 and go up to $229. Additionally, every item can be crafted in 14k gold, with these versions priced between $12,500 and $50K.

Lil Durk Faces Criticism For Wearing Large Islamic Crescent And Star Chain

Screenshot 2024 05 03 at 11.00.35 PM

Earlier this week, Lil Durk took to Instagram to show off a gold Moon and Star medallion and chain in celebration of his Muslim faith, but some devout Muslims have been slamming Durk for his jewelry choice, especially since the religion of Islam considers hoarding or wearing of gold by men “haram” or forbidden, .

On May 2(Thursday), the Chi-Town native posted a pic of him rocking the coveted moon and star, immediately drawing criticism from the Islamic community and even some who aren’t Muslims, but who are familiar with certain tenets of the strict religion and were calling out the Windy City drill rapper and their perceived contradictions.

Kanye West Explains Why Lil Durk “Broke His Heart” & Fell Out With Him

Kanye West’s new interview on Justin LaBoy’s The Download podcast contained a whole lot of scandalous, bizarre, or interesting revelations. We could talk about the “Like That” remix he premiered, his lewd obsession with Michelle Obama, the alleged assault investigation against him after Bianca Censori was allegedly sexually assaulted… it’s a doozy. However, something that folks probably didn’t expect to hear about was that Ye and Lil Durk fell out of favor with each other, or at least, that’s how the Yeezy mogul sees things. They previously collaborated on various cuts, and as two Chicago rappers, some hometown fans likely feel very disappointed by this rift.

“Durk sent in a verse and he said, ‘Take my Yeezy shirt off and make it a doormat,’” Kanye West claimed of Lil Durk. “He said it four times. I hit him up and said, ‘You’re breaking my heart. Who told you to do this?’ I’m like, ‘Man, this is bad for the city. Who told you to do this?’ It’s like when J. Cole did the diss track or whatever. You got Drake, he’s really paid to come at my neck. But it’s another thing for somebody like that to come around you. It’s the whole friends [and] enemies talk.

Kanye West Speaks On Lil Durk: Watch

He must have never really liked me,” Kanye West went on concerning Lil Durk. I don’t know exactly what it is. I spoke to this man a few times about the line and then he changed the line to: ‘I take my Yeezy hat off and give my lil’ h*e that.’ And I’m just like, ‘Why y’all think y’all can play with me?’” It seems like he might be referring to a leaked track off an upcoming VULTURES volume, “Field Trip,” which also reportedly features Playboi Carti and Kodak Black.

Meanwhile, the “PROBLEMATIC” creative also expressed that these lyrics hurt him more than Drake taking Smurk on tour during the VULTURES 1 rollout. “And it’s f**k Drake for taking Durk right at the beginning of the Vultures role [sic] out I’ll come back to yall if I think of more f**k you’s,” he had ranted on Instagram. These issues between these former partners could extend to them removing each other’s contributions off of their respective most recent albums, or perhaps some disagreements over label contracts. All of that, though, is purely speculative. Nevertheless, for more news and the latest updates on Kanye West and Lil Durk, keep checking in with HNHH.

Lil Durk Serenades India Royale With Some R&B Amid Tensions

Lil Durk and India Royale, according to some fans, were exhibiting some tension online thanks to some alleged social media shade that they threw each other’s way on Monday (April 22). If this is true, and they had something to patch up, then it seems like they found a common link to try to get in better spirits: their love of R&B. Moreover, a clip emerged of Smurk serenading his boo in the car with some singing, and there were wildly different reactions to it you can find in the comments sections of the post below. While some fans thought this was very cute and wholesome, others aren’t buying their romance or brought up past issues between them to argue that they should just call it quits.

Furthermore, this speaks to celebrity couples not having it the easiest on the Internet, as typical relationship bumps in the road become massive potholes when exposed to an audience ready to comment on every move. Regardless, it had been a while since the couple popped up in the headlines, so at least they were seemingly staying away from all the drama. Hopefully they did this not to heal a scar, but to ward off any suggestions that their social media shade was directed at each other. After all, Lil Durk happily, proudly, and gratefully showed off his Valentine’s Day gift to India Royale earlier this year.

Lil Durk Sings To India Royale: Watch

Elsewhere, both are quite busy with their respective careers and endeavors from what social media and other developments indicate. For example, the Chicago rapper announced the launch of Smurkchella in his home city, a concert promoting anti-gun violence causes, donating proceeds to charitable organizations in the community, and bringing on other artists to spread the word. While all the details aren’t confirmed yet, as it seems in its very early stages, he suggested that it would be at the Bears’ stadium. Lil Durk has come a long way since his early drill days, and to see that he reached a position to possibly execute this type of initiative is very heartening.

Meanwhile, do you think the couple is actually fighting? Are the XXL critic‘s attempts to sing to India futile or is music really as cornily healing as the industry would have you believe? Whatever the case, drop your thoughts down in the comments section below. Also, stick around on HNHH for the latest news and more updates on Lil Durk and India Royale.

Lil Durk Announces “Smurkchella” Concert To Stop Chicago Violence

Lil Durk is tired of the violence. The rapper has been one of the loudest when it comes to speaking out against the murder rate in Chicago, and now he’s taking steps to combat it. He took to his Instagram on April 10 to announce plans for a musical event he dubbed “Smurkchella.” The concept behind the event is to promote peace and positivity within the Windy City. Dirk also plans to use the proceeds from the event to give back to those in need.

The event may still be in its early stages, but Lil Durk is serious about bringing it to fruition. “I’ma do a Smurkchella next year at the bears stadium in Chicago,” he wrote on Instagram. “It’s gone be a stop the violence event and we gone split half the money with different non profits from big to small. I need help I need every artist who locked in with me to help save these kids.” The rapper went on to clarify that he’ll be partnering with his own charity, the Neighborhood Heroes Foundation, to ensure that everything is legitimate. “@neighborhoodheroesfoundation will help put it together,” he asserted. “Let’s go this my way of giving back without saying it to look cool.”

Lil Durk Will Organize The Event Through His Foundation

There’s no word yet on which artists will perform at “Smurkchella.” Lil Durk is currently seeking out rappers to come and perform, as evidenced by his official statement. The rapper has has never put together a concert, but he has organized several events with his Neighborhood Heroes Foundation. In 2022, the foundation helped supply Chicago inmates and correctional facility workers with 29,000 of hand sanitizer to combat the COVID-19 crisis.

This is not the first time Durk has put his money where his mouth is. The “All My Life” rapper recently teamed with Amazon Music to launch the Durk Banks Endowment Fund. It was started to aid participants in the Durk-affiliated Chicago charities, Neighborhood Heroes HBCU College & Career Readiness Cohort Program, as they seek out higher education. Two participants were selected out of 20, and given $50K scholarships to attend Howard University in Washington, D.C. All things considered, Durk seems like the right man to get “Smurkchella” off the ground.

Lil Durk Wants to Host Smurkchella in Chicago to Stop the Violence

DSC09171LilDurk

Lil Durk is looking to stop the violence in his hometown of Chicago. Hitting Instagram, Durkio revealed his desire to bring back Smurkchella, eyeing the Bears stadium, Soldier Field, as the host location.

“I’ma do a Smurkchella next year at the bears stadium in Chicago,” he wrote. “it’s gone be a stop the violence event and we gone split half the money with different non profits from big to small. I need help I need every artist who locked in with me to help save these kids.”

He added, “@neighborhoodheroesfoundation will help put it together let’s go this my way of giving back without saying it to look cool.”

Last June, Durk detailed his desire to unite Chicago Muslims for a prayer to eliminate beef.

“I want to hold the biggest prayer in Chicago for the Muslims that bring everybody together soon,” Durk wrote. “Price to the side then after get problems off the chest help the petty beef go away private location.”

Last May, Lil Durk live-streamed himself on Instagram visiting a homeless man in Los Angeles who went viral on TikTok last month for playing Durk’s “All My Life” video with J. Cole on a projector screen inside a sidewalk tent.

Looking to help out this man who has fallen on some hard times, Lil Durk rewarded the man with a hotel room for a month, a cell phone, gift cards, and an unspecified amount of cash.

“I want to do something real special. I got kindness in my heart, right?” Smurk said during his Instagram Live broadcast while driving around L.A. “So the homeless guy that was playing ‘All My Life’ in the tent, I found him and I’ma pull up on him. I got him a hotel room for him. You never know what people are going through. I’m finna walk up to him, let’s get it.”

While Durk did live stream, he gave the man some respect by asking him first if he was Ok being on camera. Durk then positioned him in the frame and asked him his name.  “Pedro,” the man replied.

Durk has made headlines recently with his streak of good deeds. In April, the 30-year-old partnered with Amazon Music to launch the Durk Banks Endowment Fund to help two lucky students attend Howard University in Washington, D.C.The two students were each given a $50,000 scholarship to the prestigious HBCU and were selected from 20 participants in Durk’s Neighborhood Heroes HBCU College & Career Readiness Cohort Program. He also announced he’d be donating $250,000 to Howard’s GRACE Grant, a program created to help students needing tuition assistance.

Lil Durk Reflects On The ‘Old Days’ In The First Taste Of ‘Love Songs 4 The Streets 3’

Lil Durk is back with some heat. Tonight (February 23), the Chicago rapper has begun rolling out a new project, sharing his new single, “Old Days.”

On the new single, Durk looks back on his tumultuous journey, which has shaped him into who he is today.

“I miss the old days, the old ways, my history iconic / I was takin’ so many pills, I was so high, I really abused it,” he recalls on one of the song’s verses. Now, in a better place in terms of both his mental and physical health, he finds himself wanting peace, but fears the idea may now be a pipe dream. “I wish I could stop the war, I really wanna live in peace / I wish I could stop the war, but it’s too late for them to speak.”

2024 is gearing up to be a big year for Durk. Earlier this month, Durk won his first Grammy for Best Melodic Rap Performance for his J. Cole collaboration, “All My Life.” He also joined Cole and Drake for their It’s All A Blur — Big As The What? Tour. While celebrating these huge milestones, Durk has been teasing his next project, Love Songs 4 The Streets 3.
