In June, Gunna made his return to music, but who thought he would drop a diss in the first release? The new single is “Bread & Butter,” and Gunna combats snitch allegations.
Gunna also reveals he was misled by the lawyers and district attorney:
“Lawyers and the D.A. did some sneaky shit, I fell for it On my Ps and Qs because this time, I be prepared for it.”

The year was 2018 and Lil Baby and Gunna were both just beginning to break out of the Atlanta trap scene. Both had tremendous buzz surrounding their names, so when they teamed up for a joint album, Drip Harder, it and its lead single, “Drip Too Hard,” took off like a rocket to the stars, accelerating their ascent to household name status (and still hits new high watermarks).
Since then, though, their trajectories have diverged somewhat; while Lil Baby continues to rack up streams and endorsement deals, Gunna took a detour through the Fulton County Jail thanks to the ongoing RICO case against the two rappers’ shared mentor Young Thug and his YSL label, to which Gunna is signed. Gunna’s out now thanks to a plea deal, but many of his former peers have turned their backs on him as a result — including, it seems, Lil Baby.
This week, a video surfaced online in which Lil Baby apparently repudiates his former partner-in-rhyme in no uncertain terms during a recent show. As the DJ begins to play the beat from the duo’s signature hit, Baby apparently barks, “F*ck the rats — turn this sh*t off.”

At least, that’s how fans on Twitter have interpreted his exclamation. It’s hard to make out and there’s no real confirmation that he’s speaking specifically about Gunna but it’s hard to deny two facts: “Drip Too Hard” does feature the newly controversial rapper, and Gunna was villified earlier this year for “snitching” on Young Thug to get out — although even Young Thug’s closest family denies anything he may have said could hurt Thug’s defense.
If Lil Baby really has fallen out with Gunna, it’s sure to be disappointing to longtime fans who look back fondly on the duo’s shared breakout in 2018. it isn’t exactly Migos breaking up but it still sucks for the Atlanta trap scene.

The YSL RICO trial has been giving us regular updates on Young Thug and his co-defendants from their Georgia courtroom, though we still don’t have answers on how the So Much Fun artist feels about his frequent collaborator, Gunna. His BUSINESS IS BUSINESS album includes some shady bars at the 30-year-old, but according to Thugger’s father, Jeffrey Williams’ family has no issues with the lyricist. Many major players in the industry made it known that Gunna isn’t in their social circle anymore, either by unfollowing him on social media or even publicly accusing him of snitching.
Lil Baby is one artist who’s been shading the “fukumean” hitmaker with reckless abandon, even throwing up the YSL symbol while spitting bars about rats earlier this fall. Before that, the father of two went viral when an unreleased snippet hit the internet, including lyrics that appear to reference Gunna’s plea deal. “Some ni**as taking pleas at trial / I know Slime ain’t happy,” Baby spits on the song, hinting that Thug didn’t approve of is “Hot” collaborator’s legal move.

Smino’sLuv 4 Rent record plays around the 3:03 mark as Shawna & Mia get ready for their first performance. The duo is dressed in aprons as they believe that they’ll be matching Reina Reign, but Duke informs them that Reina will not be on theme with them which frustrates both Shawna and Mia.
Nardo Wick — “G Nikes” Feat. Polo G
Nardo Wick’s track with Polo G is heard around the 4:42 mark as we check in with Lamont and his daughter Melissa. Due to an early release from her school, and the unavailability of Lamont’s grandmother and Mia’s mom, Lamont is forced to bring Melissa to the studio with him as he works with an artist.
Reina Reign — “Tongue (Remix)” Feat. Shawna & Mia
Around the 6:38 mark, this track plays as Shawna & Mia take the stage with Reina Reign to perform their remix of “Tongue.” Though the performance went well, it’s clear that Shawna & Mia aren’t on the same page during this performance. Future’sI Never Liked You song plays around the 17:13 mark as Duke finally gets into Lord AK’s green room where the party is live and active. Duke meets one of Lord AK’s closest associates, Gat, and offers him some party favors to enhance his party experience.
Ron Suno — “Door”
This track plays around the 18:42 mark as Duke finds Shawna & Mia in the party. She’s clearly under the influence after taking a bit of cocaine with Gat. Duke launches into an energetic rant about making money and finding opportunities that leaves Shawna and Mia very confused.
Dear Silas — “Smoke” Feat. Sauce Father
Around the 19:45 mark, the track can be heard as Mia joins the fun of the party to play a game of flip cup with a gentleman we later find out to be Courtney Lou, the artist that Lamont told Mia to look out for. Meanwhile, Shawna stumbles into a few awkward moments at the party including one where she’s told that she gives “Rapsody vibes… if she was a hoe.”
Peachcurls — “Ass Shaker”
Peachcurls’ track can be heard around the 22:19 mark as the party in Lord AK’s room is still going strong. Shawna tries to talk to Gat but he pays her no mind. He instead kicks off a game where the winner will get to go on Lord AK’s tour bus. This game does nothing but show Gat’s colorism, and when Shawna calls him out for it and flexes her rap knowledge, he rudely sprays her with champagne.
Baby Rose — “Fight Club” Feat. Georgia Anne Muldrow
Baby Rose’sThrough And Through highlight plays around the 28:27 mark to close the episode as Shawna cleans herself after she is showered with champagne by Gat. She’s also frustrated by the disconnect between her and Mia, something that only gets worse when Mia lets the crew know that she’ll fly into the next city because she got an offer to spend some time with Cash.

Under the record label information for 42 Dugg’s last album, Free Dem Boyz, which dropped in 2021, it seems he inked a deal as part of a joint venture between Lil Baby’s 4PF (Four Pockets Full) and Yo Gotti’sCMG (Collective Music Group).
When asked about the decision to ink a deal with 42 Dugg in May 2019, 42 Dugg told Billboard, “I’m really proud of Dugg’s growth and development over the years. His hard work is starting to pay off, and he’s only gonna get better as an artist. Baby and I know Dugg has the potential to be a superstar, and we’re both gonna do everything we can to keep putting him in the best positions to succeed.”
That makes 42 Dugg labelmates with artists such as Rylo Rodriguez, GloRilla, and Uproxx cover artist Moneybagg Yo, to name but a few.
A viral video of a man giving oral sex to another man is being addressed by Lil Baby after social media users questioned if it was him.
Hitting Instagram, Lil Baby wrote “Y’all gotta stop using my name and likeness when y’all get bored, then the extremes mfs go to four clouth is sick!!”

Earlier this year, frequent collaborators Skrillex and Fred Again.. welcomed UK artist Flowdan on “Rumble,” released in January with the video arriving in May. Skrillex and Flowdan are certainly ready to rumble in their latest single, “Pepper,” and this time, Lil Baby joined the party.
The Courtney Phillips-directed, London Alley-produced “Pepper” video opens with Francis Ngannou sparring with a rock before a fierce leopard arrives and flashes its fangs. Elsewhere Flowdan overlooks a city at night, rapping, “Take a walk with the full moon / We’re all button and zipped up / It’s all kickin’ off soon / Let’s stay real quick, bruv / I don’t know about your goons / ‘Round here, everything lift up / Whether it’s draw, win, or lose / None of my friend dem give up.”
Next, we find Lil Baby in a control room of sorts. That footage is spliced and juxtaposed with a motorcycle street race and a young man in a diner noticing news on the television, reading, “NGANNOU TRAINING IN SAUDI ARABIA.” Baby raps, “Told you you can’t f*ck with us, you shoulda knew it, yeah / We gon’ do the most, yes / Foot all on them throats, yes.”
As news of Ngannou’s fight with Tyson Fury spreads, the song briefly pauses so we can hear Cristiano Ronaldo’s prediction at a press conference: “Next question!” And then, Skrillex’s innovative and textured production takes over, with Flowdan’s grime flow soundtracking Ngannou sprinting through a desert and spars at the ocean floor. “Battle of the baddest, only one of us leavin,’” Flowdan says to punctuate it all, as the leopard growls and closes in on the camera.
