Kanye West Accused By Another Lawyer Of Ghosting Him

Kanye West is unsurprisingly dealing with a million different things at once by only focusing on one at a time. Moreover, he’s probably thinking a lot about his Ty Dolla $ign collab album Vultures, which is supposed to drop tonight at press time… but you never know with Ye, do you? Regardless, the Chicago rapper stands accused of ignoring plenty of other action items, including responding to lawsuits on behalf of companies and entities that want to hold him accountable. The latest of these is from Scott Spivey, an attorney for Trax Records that asked a Louisiana judge to approve of other means of serving him with a lawsuit on Monday (December 11), according to court documents reportedly obtained by AllHipHop.

“The necessity for this motion arises from the fact that counsel for Ye has been notified. But [he] refuses to provide an address for his client,” the lawyer expressed in the legal filing. “Additionally, Defendant Ye is constantly traveling around the world, making conventional service of process impossible. This motion is crucial to uphold due process and ensure Defendant Ye is duly notified of the ongoing legal proceedings.” This lawsuit from Trax is over a Marshall Jefferson sample– the track “Move Your Body”– in Kanye West’s 2022 Donda 2 cut “Flowers” that was allegedly used without permission.

Kanye West At The Power 106 Powerhouse Show In 2016

Furthermore, Kanye West’s lawyer Greg Nelson claimed via email in June of this year that the California home that Spivey tried to serve him papers at in December of 2022 is no longer where he stays. When asked a month later in July whether he would accept the attorney’s service or indicate how to present the papers to the 46-year-old, Nelson allegedly said that his client is in Japan. He didn’t have an address for him and claimed to have no authorization to waive service. Therefore, Trax Records requested alternative service for “essentially… an international defendant” and await the judge’s decision.

“Considering the unique challenges presented by Defendant Ye’s circumstances, the following alternative service methods are proposed,” the motion read. “Service by Publication. Publish notice of the legal proceedings in reputable international newspapers. [Also,] online platforms that are likely to be accessed by Defendant Ye. Service by Mail. Send copies of the summons and complaint via international certified mail to any known addresses associated with Defendant Ye. Service through a Designated Agent. Utilize a legal representative as a designated agent to deliver the necessary documents to Defendant Ye. Each method has its advantages and potential drawbacks. But all are aimed at ensuring that Defendant Ye receives proper notice.” For more news and the latest updates on Kanye West, log back into HNHH.

Iman Shumpert Releases Statement On Teyana Taylor Divorce

News of Iman Shumpert and Teyana Taylor’s divorce already shocked the world a couple of months ago, but the new court filing added even more fuel to that fire. Moreover, according to secret documents that leaked online, she labeled him as a “narcissist,” and it turns out that infidelity might have played a role in their split. In fact, there are even rumors that the former basketball star leaked Taylor’s secret filing himself and then acted surprise at the news. Regardless of the truth or lies behind all that, we now have an official statement from him regarding this legal process. The 33-year-old’s attorney Stephen C. Steele gave TMZ some remarks on his next moves and priorities.

“Mr. Shumpert hopes parties and counsel can work toward a fair resolution, keeping the best interests of the children of paramount concern,” Iman Shumpert stated via his lawyer. This is a far cry from his initial reaction on social media, which suggested that he felt blindsided by this revelation and was not expecting it. Overall, in these early stages of the divorce process, it’s going to be hard to tell what is true and what is just gossip. With that in mind, the musician’s initial acknowledgement of their breakup points toward this being a relatively amicable process.

Iman Shumpert’s Brief Statement From Lawyer: Read

“AHT AHT! Not too much on my bestie!” Teyana Taylor wrote on social media back in September. “In all fairness, Iman and I are separated and have been for a while. To be 1000% clear, ‘infidelity’ ain’t one of the reasons for our departure. We are still the best of friends, great business partners and are one hell of a team when it comes to co-parenting our 2 beautiful children. Most importantly we are FAMILY & in the 10yrs together, 7yrs married we ain’t ever played with or about THAT.

“We just keep y’all a**es out the group chat lol,” she continued. “Which is the reason we’ve been able to successfully & peacefully separate without all of the outside noise. The only reason I’m even sharing THIS part of the chat is because the narratives are getting a little out of hand & it’s unfair to all parties involved. I hope this provided some clarity for y’all. Okay AunTey taking y’all back out the chat bye!” For more news and the latest updates on Teyana Taylor and Iman Shumpert, stick around on HNHH.

Young Thug’s Lawyer Upsets Judge With “Farce” Comment

Tensions are already flaring in the newest proceedings of the YSL RICO trial. Opening statements are expected on November 27 but today in court the judge had in a “gang expert” to answer questions about the YSL outfit as a whole. After dealing with frustrating answers from the gang expert and repeated objections from the prosecution, Thug’s lawyer Brian Steel made a comment the judge didn’t appreciate.

Steel described the proceedings as a “farce” which the judge quickly hit back on. “Mr. Steel, I’d be careful about the characterization, sir. Farce is not the word I would use,” Judge Glanville responded. They had yet another exchange after the prosecution raised an objection for the form in which Steel asked a question. He disagreed with the objection. but the judge once again shut him down. “Mr. Steel, I’m the person that decides that not you. And the other thing is you keep asking him things that he may not have any knowledge base to,” Glanville replied. Check out the livestream of the events of the trial below.

Young Thug’s Lawyer Going Back And Forth With Judge

Last week, there was a new development in Young Thug’s trial that had a lot of fans and fellow rappers concerned. The judge ruled that lyrics from some of his songs would be allowed as evidence in court. The prosecution almost immediately introduced lyrics from Thug’s Juice Wrld collaboration “Bad Boy.” They claim that in the song he brags about shooting at YFN Lucci’s mother’s house.

Rappers like Killer Mike and Meek Mill quickly spoke out against the move. Mike called it an infringement on the first amendment rights of every citizen while Meek tweeted about being scared to even do interviews with everything that was being allowed in court. It’s unclear how many more songs the prosecution plans to use. What do you think of Young Thug’s lawyer getting into multiple exchanges with the judge in his case? Let us know in the comment section below.

2Pac Murder Suspect Keefe D Can’t Afford A Lawyer

At the end of September, Las Vegas Metro Police arrested Duane “Keefe D” Davis for the murder of 2Pac. He had a court hearing last month, asking a judge for a continuance because his lawyer failed to show up. He’s now listed as having no lawyer, and according to VladTV, it’s because he doesn’t have the funds to hire one.

As a result, the man authorities believe acted as the “shot caller” in 2Pac’s 1996 shooting will use a public defender instead. His arraignment is now scheduled for November 2. The news follows recent reports that prominent Las Vegas attorney Ross Goodman might be representing the alleged former gang member.

At the time, Goodman told KTNV that Keefe D would be pleading not guilty and requesting bail. “I’m not yet hired to review the grand jury transcripts,” he also added. “But the things that jump out, there’s no gun, there’s no car, and there are no witnesses from 27 years ago.”

While only time will tell what’ll happen to Keefe D, recent rumors suggested that he wasn’t faring well behind bars. Luckily for him, it appears that the speculation is unfounded. DJ Vlad took to social media last week to clear up the rumors. “There’s a rumor going around that Keefe D got beat up and stabbed in jail,” he wrote. “I looked into it, and it doesn’t appear to be true.” What do you think of Keefe D reportedly being unable to afford legal representation? Big Lex Dropped By Lawyer Amid Joseline Hernandez’s Assault Case

Big Lex’s lawyer has jumped ship amid the ongoing assault case against Joseline Hernandez, in which Lex is the alleged victim. In court documents obtained by Rader Online, attorney Brian Andino asked to withdraw from the case, citing “irreconcilable differences.” He didn’t provide any further explanation and the judge has yet to accept his withdrawal.

The case stems from a fight between Lex and Hernandez backstage at the Floyd Mayweather v. John Gotti III in June. Clips from the night show Hernandez brutally beating on Lex even as security tries to step in. Hernandez is facing charges of felony resisting officers with violence, felony battery on law enforcement officer, misdemeanor battery, misdemeanor battery/touch or strike/cause bodily harm, and a misdemeanor trespass charge.

In the arrest report, one officer said he saw that Hernandez “exited the bathroom within the dressing room and began to verbally assault law enforcement officers as they informed her that she needed to leave the property.” Officers cited in the report also spoke to a female victim “who advised that while sitting on the event level of FLA Live Arena the defendant walked up to her, threw a cardboard box at her head, and then began to strike her about her face and head with closed fists.”

Hernandez addressed the arrest during an appearance on The Breakfast Club afterward, arguing she wasn’t the aggressor in the incident. “I can’t really speak too much on that but what I can say is that I’m always gonna protect myself,” she said. “If you see me out here in the streets and you know I’m just making sure that I’m straight an no one hurts me. The media only shows you one thing, it looks like a whole lot of chaos but you might not know what happened prior to that chaos.” Be on the lookout for further updates on Hernandez’s case on HotNewHipHop.

Post Malone’s Lawsuit Is “Idiotic,” Kodak Black’s Lawyer Claims

Earlier this week, it was reported that Post Malone is being sued by the law firm Martorell Law. Martorell Law is accusing the performer of “physically abusing” his ex, Ashlen Diaz. They claim they have photos and text messages to prove their allegations.

Diaz hired the firm back in 2020, when she was seeking palimony after their breakup. Her deal with the firm included a percentage of her awarded settlement. She decided, however, to settle with Post privately instead, receiving $350k. Now, the firm wants their cut. “Defendant Diaz, unfortunately, gave in to such duress (as victims often do), to her own detriment, separating her from legal representation she desperately needed,” the suit reads. “Rather than face accountability, however, Defendant Post downplays his control over his ex-girlfriend, attempting to portray this action and twist this clearly wrongful behavior as somehow akin to a party trying to stifle competition.”

Bradford Cohen Weighs In On Post Malone Lawsuit

Malone responded to the lawsuit, requesting for it to be dropped and claiming that he didn’t control her decision. The firm further accused the artist of “coercion and pressure of one’s romantic partner combined with physical and emotional abuse.” Now, attorney Bradford Cohen, who’s known for representing Kodak Black, has weighed in on the situation. He took to Instagram to share his thoughts, and had some harsh words for the lawyers suing Post.

“This is an example of in my opinion, what disgusting lawyers do and what gives lawyers a bad name,” he explained. “This lawsuit is idiotic, in my opinion, breaches several legal fiduciary duties and is something that gives attys reputations of being jerks. Nasty move and a nasty way to try and get 100k in fees. Weak lawyering weak case and weak move.” What do you think of Cohen’s response to the lawsuit? Jonathan Majors’ Lawyer Insists Viral Fight Video Isn’t Fake

Earlier this week, a clip of Jonathan Majors appearing to break up a fight between two teenage girls surfaced. The duo were throwing punches outside of an In-N-Out when he decided to step in. In the video, Majors is seen running up to the two girls, standing between them, and telling them to stop fighting. Though at first glance it looks like Majors was merely doing a good deed, social media users have other ideas.

Upon the release of the video, speculation immediately started surrounding the situation. Many thought the incident was staged, and released as an attempt to make Majors look better amid his legal battle. The actor is currently facing allegations that he physically abused his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari. Majors’ attorney, Priya Chaudhry, recently spoke to TMZ about the debacle, claiming that the video is completely real.

Majors’ Attorney Responds To Allegations Fight Was Staged

Chaudhry also adds that the idea the fight could have been staged is “absurd.” She went on to claim that one of the students involved in the fight has since come forward, confirming that it was real. She appears to have been referring to a Twitter post, which features another clip of the fight from a different angle. The poster claims that they go to school with the girls seen in the video, and says that it was totally legit. “The Jonathan Majors fight was 100% real,” the unknown Twitter user writes. “I go to the school the fight was at, I know one of the girls who fought. It was over stupid high school stuff. Here’s another angle for everyone who’s saying there was no one there. No idea how TMZ got it first.”

After the fight, TMZ caught up with Majors, who claimed he just wanted to make sure nobody got hurt. What do you think of the viral fight video? Share your thoughts in the comments section down below, and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates on Jonathan Majors.

1090 Jake Continues To Refute Snitching Allegations

1090 Jake has made a living by putting other people on blast for “snitching.” Earlier this week, however, the internet personality was called into question after some of his own alleged “snitching” surfaced. A letter handwritten by 1090 Jake from his time behind bars went public, leading many to believe that he told on a fellow inmate. He’s since denied this, emphasizing that a complaint is different than snitching. He also went live with Riem for No Jumper, claiming that he broke down the situation in a YouTube video years ago.

“This ain’t no new story,” he said on Live. Despite his claims, he’s continued to be hit with an endless amount of criticism online. This is mainly due to the fact that he’s “exposed” so many others for their “rat” behavior in the past. Lawyer Bradford Cohen, who’s represented a slew of people in the rap game like Drake, DMX, YNW Melly, Kodak Black, and more, recently took to Instagram to weigh in.

1090 Jake Responds To Kodak Black’s Lawyer

“This story is strange,” Cohen began. “[1090 Jake] wanted an interview with kodak about his feature on a record. When he didn’t do the interview, this guy came out and said that somehow kodak told on jail guards, when I filed a lawsuit against guards (part of the basis for the commutation) for failing to allow kodak access to religious leaders and abuse, that was telling. Meanwhile, I just got DMs from a person with docs where [1090 Jake] gave a SWORN statement as a witness in a shooting and gave a statement to police about other ind.s.”

1090 Jake clapped back in a comment on his post. “You a lawyer,” he wrote. “Request that shooting case and see nobody existed in that case.” The internet personality continued, calling for Cohen to “talk bout why Kodak ain’t come out his cell.” It’s clear that those impacted by 1090 Jake’s “snitching” exposés in the past won’t be letting his own allegations slide any time soon. 50 Cent’s Lawyer Speaks Out After Mic-Throwing Incident

50 Cent has been making headlines recently, after his onstage outburst left Power 106 host Bryhana Monegain injured. The rapper had been performing in LA on his “Final Lap” tour, when some technical difficulties got in the way of the show. He was given various microphones that weren’t working properly, and eventually, he had enough. He threw two different microphones into the audience out of frustration, and one of them hit Monegain right in the head.

Monegain posted photos of her injuries on social media following the incident, unveiling a large, bloody gash on her forehead. It was later revealed that she had filed a police report about the incident, and that the rapper is now a suspect in a criminal felony battery case. In her police report, Monegain claimed that she believed 50 Cent looked right at her just before throwing the microphone, alleging that she was his intended target. Fif’s attorney, Scott Leemon, recently shared a statement with Page Six about the incident, denying her claims.

50 Cent Hits Woman In The Head With Microphone

“Let’s be very clear,” he began. “As I told LAPD this afternoon, my client Curtis would never intentionally strike anyone with a microphone.” Leemon continued, “Anyone saying something different doesn’t have all the facts and is misinformed.” So, according to 50 Cent’s lawyer, the entire thing was an accident. With that being said, he could still be facing legal repercussions.

The Game took the opportunity to clown 50 Cent for the incident, sharing the clip on his Instagram Story. “Curtis, yo fat a*s came to LA hittin women,” the rapper wrote. Fif’s LA show did have some good moments, despite the scandal, as Nas joined him onstage for a couple of songs. He also gave the performer his flowers, telling the crowd “when this man dropped, the whole rap game changed.” Keep an eye on HNHH for more updates on 50 Cent.

Lawyer Who Got Gunna Out Of Prison To Represent Donald Trump

Donald Trump is expected to turn himself in at Fulton County jail today August 24). The former U.S. president is facing 13 felony counts surrounding his attempt to overturn the 2020 election. Trump was previously represented by Drew Findling, the “Billion Dollar Lawyer.” He’s worked with the likes of hip hop artists like Gucci Mane, Cardi B, and more. Now, however, the 77-year-old is looking to switch things up. He’s bringing attorney Steve Sadow onto his team, who famously got Gunna out of prison at the end of last year.

“I have been retained to represent President Trump in the Fulton County, Georgia case,” Sadow told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “The president should never have been indicted. He is innocent of all the charges brought against him.” Incidentally, this isn’t Trump’s only tie to the YSL RICO case. He was indicted on RICO charges by the same DA as Young Thug. The rapper has been behind bars since May of 2022. Gunna is famously accused of “snitching” on the YSL figurehead, making for quite the controversy in the world of hip hop.

Gunna took a plea deal last December. The rapper maintained his innocence while accepting a guilty verdict on one racketeering charge. He was given a four-year suspended sentence and was ordered to special conditions, like 500 hours of community service, amid his release. The terms of Trump’s surrender are currently unknown, but the former president is not expected to be held.

Trump has maintained his innocence, calling the investigation a “witch hunt.” “We look forward to the case being dismissed or, if necessary, an unbiased, open minded jury finding the president not guilty,” Sadow explains. “Prosecutions intended to advance or serve the ambitions and careers of political opponents of the president have no place in our justice system.”
