Hitmaka Had Some Thoughts About ‘P*ssy Rap’ And Fans Justifiably Found Some Faults In His Arguments

Remember “Thot Box?” You know, Hitmaka’s 2019 posse cut featuring 2 Chainz, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, Meek Mill, Tyga, and YBN Nahmir? No? Well, you almost certainly remember that the remix — which did ridiculously better than the original — featured a who’s-who of up-and-coming female rappers including Chinese Kitty, DreamDoll, Dreezy, Latto (pre-name change), and Young MA. There it is up top.

Well, the guy responsible for it, Hitmaka (formerly known as Young Berg, the walking lick), had some thoughts about female rappers and their X-rated subject matter, and unfortunately for him, he decided to share those thoughts on Twitter. Apparently, he missed how it went for the last handful of guys to offer their two cents on this topic, including Jermaine Dupri.

“Can’t wait to work with a pretty female rapper that’s strictly about bars to even the playing field,” he wrote. “Pussy rap was cool when it had shock value & was rare. Now it’s like every girl taking it there. It’s sum who aren’t but they need a hit producer 4 impact.”

It didn’t take long for him to come under fire from fans who pointed out the sexism inherent in this sentiment. Also, it’s like… Wrong. Plainly. Clearly. Obviously. Women have addressed this repeatedly in the last few years. Cardi B called it out. Megan Thee Stallion called it out. City Girls called it out. Latto called it out THIS WEEK. Plus, as Noname rightfully pointed out last year, women are better at rapping about sex than men, anyway. Case in point: “Thot Box” and its much more successful remix.

Women also rightfully brought up Berg’s past controversial colorist comments and accusations against him for sexual assault.

Moral of the story: Stay out of women’s business, gentlemen. It will not go well for you.

Stacey Abrams Gave Latto The Key To Her Georgia Hometown, Where The Rapper Also Got Her Own ‘Latto Day’

Latto is in the spirit of giving this holiday season. Over the course of the past weekend, the “Big Energy” rapper donated Christmas dinner, gifts, and other basic essentials to over 500 families in Clayton County, Georgia. Among the gifts were TVs, bikes, toy cars, and whole turkeys.

As a reward for her generosity and philanthropic efforts, Latto was presented with the key to the city of her hometown, Clayco, according to a report from People. Stacey Abrams presented Latto with the key, as well as her own Latto Day (December 18).

“I feel like I owe my success to Clayco, so this means so much to me,” Latto said. “I’m committed to using my platform to create opportunities for the next generation of Clayton County youth.”

Latto made these donations at Clayco’s “Christmas In Clayco” event, which took place at the Carl Rhodenizer Recreation Center. According to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Clayton County commissioner Alieka Anderson and Chair of the Clayton County Board Of Education Jessie Goree were in attendance at the event, along with Abrams.

“Latto is the epitome of greatness here in Clayton County,” Clayton County commissioner Alieka Anderson said at the event. “Our kids love her, the commissioners love her, and this is a collaboration that has been great for the community and for the children in Clayton County Public Schools. I want them to see the spirit of giving. When you give, it reciprocates back to you. What we tell our kids in Clayton County is that you can go and be anything you want to be, and Latto is a great example of that.”

High-end toys, TVs, bikes, motorized toy cars, and Christmas mainstays were among the gifts.

Clayton County commissioner Alieka Anderson also acknowledged Latto for her ongoing humanitarian activities in the community by formally declaring December 18th “Latto Day” and bestowing her a key to the city. Former Georgia State Representative Stacey Abrams, Fly Guy DC, Clayton County Board of Education Chair Jessie Goree, Clayton County Commissioner Alieka Anderson, and others were in attendance.

Latto Calls Out The Fake Online Outrage Around Her New Single ‘Another Nasty Song’

Grammy-nominated rapper Latto is turning lemons into lemonade, so why are critics online left with a bitter taste in their mouths? After a hacker leaked over 130 of her unreleased tracks, the Clayco native decided not to let that stop her from getting those tracks out to fans. Her new song, “Another Nasty Song,” one of the hundreds of songs leaked dropped yesterday, and fans love it. But, unfortunately, for Latto, not everyone online is a fan.

The track produced by Yak Beats samples an underground cult classic, “The Nasty Song,” by Lil Ru, making it irresistible. However, nearly 24 hours after hitting streaming platforms, critics have begun to flood Twitter with the same remark, “p*ssy is that only thing she raps about.”

There’s no denying the explicit nature of the song. The chorus opens with, “You know that I’m a freak / You know I like it slow / I’m tryin’ to make a movie / I’m givin’ you the code / So let me put this p*ssy on you (Let me put this p*ssy on you) / Yeah, daddy, come and let me put this p*ssy on you.” However, across Latto’s debut album, 777, the rapper does display range, regardless of what her recent loose singles, “FTCU” featuring GloRilla and “Clap” with Trina might have you believe.

Latto took to Twitter to clap back at critics who claimed her discography is one-dimensional writing, “I got plenty [of] songs [that] not about ‘p*ssy.’ Y’all don’t blow them up & that’s not my problem.”

She isn’t the only woman rapper to receive these critics; Megan Thee Stallion’s catalog has come under fire for being too sexually centered, as has Cardi B’s.

Latto Is Back With “Another Nasty Song”

Throughout her career, Latto has built herself something of a reputation for making salacious songs. Like many other female rap divas, she’s not afraid to let her confidence shine through as she talks her shit. Of course, this sort of attitude comes with its share of haters, but the 23-year-old isn’t letting them phase her.

On her aptly titled new single, “Another Nasty Song,” the “Sunshine” artist dishes about some of her bedroom preferences. “‘Cause this here another nasty song / He love it when I pull up wit’ no panties on,” she saucily teases on the chorus.

Other bold lyrics from the rising recording artist include “Gangster bitch, I make him wear my chain whilе he drillin’ / And me and my bitch might run a train on this n*gga.”

The sexy single comes following a massive leak that Latto’s unreleased music was a part of. Hundreds of tracks that she had locked and loaded in her arsenal were sadly shared with the world without her permission, though they’ve made their admiration of certain titles very clear.

Latto heard her fan’s praise loud and clear and was quick to officially unveil “Another Nasty Song” with them as a result.

After sharing her own 777 album back in March, the reality star has had an impressive 2022. Most recently, we saw her work with GloRilla on “FTCU” and on Chlöe’s “For The Night” single.

Stream Latto’s “Another Nasty Song” on Spotify or Apple Music below. Afterward, let us know what your thoughts are in the comments.

Quotable Lyrics:

Pull up on my pimpin’, say my name while you in it
Type of p*ssy make him say my name while hе swimmin’
Gangster bitch, I make him wear my chain whilе he drillin’
And me and my bitch might run a train on this n*gga

Latto Gets X-Rated On Her New Single, ‘Another Nasty Song’

Latto has shared another nasty song, appropriately titled “Another Nasty Song.” On her latest single, Latto revels in the joys of a really frisky sneaky link.

“You know that I’m a freak / you know I like it slow / I’m tryin’ to make a movie / I’m givin’ you the code / So let me put this p*ssy on you,” she rap-sings on the song’s seductive chorus.

As if the song couldn’t get more raunchy, Latto gets rather vivid on the song’s verses, rapping, “Pull up on my pimpin’, say my name while you in it / Type of p*ssy make him say my name while hе swimmin’ / Gangsta b*tch, I make him wear my chain whilе he drillin”

This past March, Latto released her sophomore album, 777, which featured hits like “Big Energy” and “Sunshine.” In a recent interview with Flaunt, she revealed that fans can expect even more hits in the near future on a potential deluxe edition of 777.

“They sleep online, so we gonna have to deluxe it, repackage it, and put it back in their face,” Latto said. “But fingers crossed, if everything goes as planned, there will be a highly anticipated feature on that.”

Miley Cyrus Revealed Sia, Latto, And Rae Sremmurd Will Be Performing At Her Annual ‘New Year’s Eve Party’

Miley Cyrus is planning to end 2022 and kick off 2023 with a bang. Last month, it was announced that Cyrus would return to NBC and Peacock for Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party, which she hosted last year with Pete Davidson. Although this year, Davidson won’t be returning as Cyrus’ cohost. Instead, she will ring in the new year with none other than America’s treasure — her own Godmother, Dolly Parton.

While plenty will be tuned into already to see Cyrus and Parton, the “Midnight Sky” hitmaker announced that she will be bringing in even more exciting guests to her annual New Year’s party. Yesterday (December 9) on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Cyrus revealed Latto, Sia, and Rae Sremmurd would be performing throughout the night.

Cyrus also noted that these aren’t the only performers who will be taking the stage at her New Year’s Eve celebration.

“As we get closer to the show, I want to start revealing who else we have,” she said. “But the lineup is very me. It is curated in a way that makes no sense, but makes total sense.”

Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party will air live on Saturday, December 31 on NBC from 10:30 p.m.-12:30 a.m. ET. The special will also stream live on Peacock.

Gangsta Boo Is Back With Boo Lingo 101 Part 2 For Uproxx

Your favorite rappers aren’t speaking in code; you’re just not hip to their lingo. From onomatopoeias to regional idioms, an artist’s chosen lyrical content help tells the stories and paint pictures of music culture from around the globe. We can thank dirty South icons like Soulja Boy, Gucci Mane, and Lil’ Flip for padding our rap vocabulary with clever words and phrases — think “crank that,” “trap house,” and “flossin’,” respectively. Today we’re back with more from The Queen of Memphis, Gangsta Boo, who sits down with Uproxx’s Cherise Johnson and deconstructs some dirty south slang.

Gangsta Boo is back in the public consciousness after a Verzuz fight between Bone Thugs-N-Harmony and Three 6 Mafia — and more importantly, the southern rap icon teamed up with Latto and GloRilla for their new single “FTCU,” which samples Three 6 Mafia’s “Tear The Club Up.” Her UPROXX Sessions performance of ‘I’m Fresh,’ produced by Nick Hook, “is a bass-blasting, drum-heavy club anthem” in which she implores listeners to “smoke weed [and] eat p*ssy.”

In part 2 of Boo Lingo 101, she breaks down slang like “jackin’” and “bumpin’” and reminds us of how to use the acronym “FYTB” properly. You can watch pt. 2 of Gangsta Boo’s Boo Lingo 101 for Uproxx Music above.
