777 Radio, a limited radio series that will only be broadcast on Apple Music’s international live-streaming radio station Apple Music 1, was just announced by Latto.
Latto is prepared to provide her already fervent fan base with new means of communication through 777 Radio.

“I’m going to keep it very personal and play what I actually listen to,” Latto said of the show. “I’m going to highlight new artists that I feel like the world needs to hear, artists that I think deserve more spotlight. I listen to a lot of female rap, so definitely supporting the girls, and definitely a lot of Southern music.”
The moniker 777 Radio is taken from Latto’s critically acclaimed album of the same name, which came before a long series of achievements that reads like a checklist for upcoming superstardom.
In the premiere episode, Chlöe—a singer, composer, and actress—discusses relationships, body image, parallels with her sister Halle, and other topics with Latto.
Beginning on March 30th, Latto’s 777 Radio will be broadcast twice weekly on Thursdays at 11 a.m. PT / 2 p.m. ET on Apple Music 1. You can see the trailer below.
Latto uses Twitter as her main outlet to debunk false stories and address rumors on the Internet but now, she’ll have a new radio show that fans could look forward to. The Atlanta star continues to rise the ranks of the entertainment world, though she’s evidently pivoting towards broadcast. This morning, she took to Instagram where she announced 777 Radio on Apple Music. Latto’s upcoming show will make its debut on Thursday at 11 a.m. PT with special guest Chlöe Bailey, who drops her debut solo album In Pieces on Friday.
The announcement came alongside a short trailer that Apple Music debuted on its social media page. Latto takes on the role of a flight attendant (and passengers) as she announces the arrival of 777 Radio. “Welcome aboard 777 Air,” she says. “Make sure to put the BS on airplane mode and leave all your baggage at home ‘cause we goin’ outside, baby.” The launch of 777 Radio could be a sign that she has a new album coming soon, so hopefully, she’ll debut some new heat this Thursday.
Unfortunately for Latto, everything she does creates some sort of backlash. Just after her apparent back-and-forth with Ice Spice, many fans seemingly felt as though the “Big Energy” was taking cues from Nicki Minaj, who launched Queen Radio on Apple Music. Of course, the comparisons to Nicki began to lead the Latto hate train on Twitter on the heels of their beef. Still, it’ll be interesting to see how Latto’s personality translates onto the radio waves. Perhaps, this might open up more doors down the line, similar to Trina’s transition to radio.
In the midst of divisive opinions, Apple Music’s Karlie Hustle shared revealed that she worked closely with Latto over the past year to bring the show to life. “I’ve been working with Latto and her team on developing this radio show for nearly a year! Latto just teased two mystery, but fan-favorite collaborations on her next album. Moreover, the revelation came after people started to speculate on who’d appear on the 777 star’s next project. After her single “Lottery” dropped last week to much acclaim, fans are already thinking about what’ll be next for her. Furthermore, one fan specifically had a wishlist of potential features. “10 Collabs I want for Latto’s next album,” they wrote before listing them out. They suggested Cardi B, Megan Thee Stallion, Summer Walker, Chris Brown, Don Toliver, SZA, Lil Nas X, Lizzo, Kim Petras, and Doja Cat.
Then, the Columbus rapper quote-tweeted the fan’s suggestions with some exciting news. “1 of these already done,” she shared, before reading the list over again and making the good news even better. “Wait, I read the list again… *2,” she added. Soon after, fans made their guesses and tried to decipher the new guests. However, it’s unclear if she meant that they were already done for her next album or in general. If it’s in general, we know that she worked with Chris Brown, Meg, and Doja Cat to some capacity.
Of course, many fans prayed and hoped that Brown wasn’t the collab that Latto was talking about. Moreover, a recent announcement of his collab with Chlöe caused many to bring up his history of abuse again. However, given they worked together already, that ship sailed a while ago for these hopefuls. Still, it’s quite the eclectic list with a lot of potential. After all, Latto already remixed SZA’s “Smoking on my Ex Pack,” so there aren’t many degrees of separation there.
Meanwhile, Petras recently won a Grammy for her collaboration with Sam Smith, “Unholy.” Even though the “Big Energy” MC is pretty firmly in a rap lane, hearing her cross over into more hyper pop-inspired sounds would be insane. Regardless, Latto recently fell victim to a 130-song leak, which she handled with grace. Latto has shared another nasty song, appropriately titled “Another Nasty Song.” On her latest single, Latto revels in the joys of a really frisky sneaky link.
“You know that I’m a freak / you know I like it slow / I’m tryin’ to make a movie / I’m givin’ you the code / So let me put this p*ssy on you,” she rap-sings on the song’s seductive chorus.
As if the song couldn’t get more raunchy, Latto gets rather vivid on the song’s verses, rapping, “Pull up on my pimpin’, say my name while you in it / Type of p*ssy make him say my name while hе swimmin’ / Gangsta b*tch, I make him wear my chain whilе he drillin”
This past March, Latto released her sophomore album, 777, which featured hits like “Big Energy” and “Sunshine.” In a recent interview with Flaunt, she revealed that fans can expect even more hits in the near future on a potential deluxe edition of 777.
“They sleep online, so we gonna have to deluxe it, repackage it, and put it back in their face,” Latto said. “But fingers crossed, if everything goes as planned, there will be a highly anticipated feature on that.”
Latto celebrates all the boss bitches in the new video for “It’s Givin” from her album 777. “It’s Givin” was one of the album’s standouts, receiving attention on its release night for its thumping beat and motivational messaging. Latto keeps that energy (ha) with the video, creating an inclusive workspace where all women can be bosses. The video highlights several disabled women and features cameos from stars like Angie Martinez, Ella Mai, Flo Milli, and Chloe and Halle Bailey, as Latto herself leads business meetings and drapes herself over the copy machine in a heavily modified business suit with strategic cutouts that show off her assets.
The Atlanta rapper’s work ethic certain gives “boss bitch”; in the five months since the album was released, she has supported it with a remix to its standout hit “Big Energy” featuring Mariah Carey and assisted a slew of fellow entertainers with fiery guest verses. 2020’s Queen Of Da Souf may have been Latto’s official major-label debut, but it’s on her new album, 777, that she finally arrives. The Clayton County rapper gets an effective redo on her first impression thanks to a timely name change and the world reopening post-pandemic. She makes the most of it on her latest LP, which presents a polished and poised new version of the instantly compelling artist she was on her debut.
You’d be forgiven for not even noticing when Queen Of Da Souf dropped in August of 2020. The world was five months into a global lockdown to prevent the spread of COVID, but that state of affairs also prevented many of the emerging artists who released music that year from being able to spread their art, as well. Despite having strong, deeply-rooted records such as the Gucci Mane-featuring “Muwop” and the Lil Baby collaboration “Sex Lies” on it, Queen Of Da Souf was unable to gain much traction outside of Latto’s previously established fanbase.
It likely didn’t help that she was hampered by her unseemly stage name at the time, Mulatto, which evoked accusations of colorism. Despite not choosing the name she was saddled with as a child performer in her native Georgia, she was forced to field uncomfortable critiques and conversations about intent and perception. Now free of that particular burden, she can direct the focus where it ought to be: on the music.
As much focus as there is likely to be thrown onto big pop swings on the album like the lead single, “Big Energy” – which is her most successful song to date – where Latto continues to shine is in the songs that most heavily draw from the Southern influences of her hometown. Atlanta’s preferred emphasis on booming 808s and snickering snare drums is often the lane in which Latto finds herself most comfortable. On tracks like “Soufside,” “Stepper,” and the pair of title tracks, Latto swaggers and shines, projecting the essence of hip-hop’s foundation of braggadocio.
“It’s Givin” is a standout, stripping down the lush instrumentation on her more radio-ready material to offer a throwback to the skeletal drum machine productions of the late ‘80s. Likewise, “Wheelie,” which reunites Latto with fellow ATL staple 21 Savage, gives her the room to stretch her legs and strut her confident, unapologetic sex rhymes. However, her biggest risks tend to be the ones that pay off the most; on “Sunshine,” she goes to church with Lil Wayne and Childish Gambino, outshining her collaborators on the lush, organ-driven inspirational. It’s by far the most interesting song on the album, even when Gambino can’t help but stick his foot in his mouth by recalling Latto’s old moniker in reference to his own kids.
Fortunately, the other collaborators on the project, like Lil Durk and Nardo Wick, manage to stick to the subject matter at hand. It’s disappointing that she chooses to be part of Kodak Black’s ongoing image rehabilitation campaign (it’s probably only a matter of time until he finds a way to publicly embarrass her with this bet), but Durk and Wick largely do what they’re expected to do. Still, it’s Latto’s show, and like the fond diminutive she’s floated for her growing fanbase, she hits the jackpot, earning her spot in rap’s upper echelon. Whether boasting and bragging on the party joints or turning inward on tracks like “Sleep Sleep,” Latto makes one hell of a second first impression.

Latto‘s 777 is absolutely rolling and showing no signs of slowing down. Two weeks after the release of her second studio album, the Atlanta rapper took a break from her Monster Energy Outbreak Tour to perform a pair of songs on The Tonight Show. While her playing “Big Energy” comes as no surprise, considering it’s her biggest single to date at No. 3 on the Hot 100, she also throws in her verse from the 777 standout “Sunshine,” which features Lil Wayne and Childish Gambino on the album.
Opening with “Sunshine,” Latto begins the performance sitting on a stool with a huge, elegant-looking dressing gown on. Backed by a team of backup dancers, she almost looks like the leader of a praise team, which works well with the gospel references throughout the song. As the song picks up, she stands to roam the stage, bopping along with the live band’s rendition of the song’s beat. The stage clears for the second half of the medley, as Latto removes the gown while the band vamps, and when she returns, she is joined by a pair of dancers who perform some vibrant choreography for the Mariah Carey-sampling “Big Energy.”

The opening track, “777 Pt.1,” lets us know she’s a force on the microphone. Not rapping raunchy, she deliberately delivers bars.

She continues to the same hard flow on the second track, “777 Pt.2,” but the LP comes with 13-tracks and has a loaded roster. The Georgia native enlists a few of her hometown peers like 21 Savage and Childish Gambino. She also called upon other big names like Lil Wayne, Lil Durk, Kodak Black, and Nardo Wick.
777 also includes the Mariah Carey-sampling “Big Energy” track. Latto recently announced that Mariah Carey would be on the “Big Energy” remix, which will drop on Monday. Latto expressed great joy behind this legendary collaboration. She took it to Twitter to share her thoughts.

Latto has been having a huge 2022 so far, and it sounds like it’s about to get a lot bigger. The rising rap star is coming off the release of her 777 album today, her second full-length project and follow-up to her 2020 debut Queen Of Da Souf. But a mystery feature on the tracklist has been generating a lot of speculation, as the massive single off the project, “Big Energy,” has been quickly working its way up on the Billboard chart and is due for a remix.
The song samples a rather iconic song from the early ’80s, Tom Tom Club’s 1981 single, “Genius Of Love,” which most fans will recognize from Mariah Carey’s own iconic hit, “Fantasy.” And since the two stars share a sample on respective hits, it only makes sense they’d team up for the remix. While a lot of fans thought Latto would tap either Nicki Minaj or Cardi B for the new version, she made it clear that while she loves them both, she’s not getting into any drama by picking sides.
These tweets between Latto and Mariah today make it pretty clear that we’ll hear Mimi on Monday’s remix. Stay tuned for that, surely Mariah is going to bring a big verse and some signature vocal gymnastics for this one.
This past week has been an eventful one for Latto in both good and bad ways. She was able to build anticipation for her second album 777 which was led by a pair of singles: “Big Energy” and “Wheelie.” However, in an attempt to shed some light on her struggles as a female rap star, she brought an overflow of attention to herself. Latto revealed that there was a male artist on the album that made it “difficult to clear” a guest verse because she did not respond to their Instagram DM. She later expressed her regrets about making the reveal due to the drama it caused, but that’s behind her now.
At long last, 777 is here for us to enjoy. The project comes with features from some rap peers in close proximity to Latto’s class like Lil Durk, 21 Savage, Nardo Wick, and Kodak Black. However, there’s also a song that features appearances from two big-time names: Lil Wayne and Childish Gambino. They appear on “Sunshine” and it’s a warm record produced by Bongo ByTheWay that finds the trio taking a moment to send prayers to their enemies as they continue to elevate and defeat the odds.
While the song adds to Lil Wayne’s long list of guest verses over the last couple of years, it’s the first musical contribution we’ve heard from Childish Gambino, better known as Donald Glover, since he released his fourth album 3.15.20 back in 2020.
