Kodak Black’s Legal Troubles Got Simpler After A Count From His Recent Arrest Was ‘Completely Dismissed’

Last December, Kodak Black was arrested in South Florida. At the time, The Associated Press reported that the Florida-born rapper was facing charges of cocaine possession and jailed in Broward County. The substance was later identified by a lab test as oxycodone rather than cocaine. In late February, Kodak Black was freed “after a federal judge sentenced him to time served for a probation violation,” according to The Associated Press. Prior to his release, as reported by the Sun Sentinel, Broward County Circuit Judge Barbara Duffy had dismissed Kodak’s oxycodone charge because prosecutors’ arguments “do not refute or negate” that Kodak had an oxycodone prescription.

On Wednesday, April 17, Kodak Black’s attorney, Bradford Cohen, posted on Instagram that Kodak has had another count dismissed.

“Count 2 is now dismissed of Kodak’s ‘possession of cocaine’ that wasn’t cocaine case that should have never been filed or brought by the Broward State Atty Office,” Cohen captioned his post, which shows the documentation of “Order Granting Defendant’s Motion To Dismiss Count II.” “We showed them his script prior to filing, and they decided to file anyway… even knowing the officer was wrong about the substance and his story changing and making no sense. That case is now completely dismissed.”

Kodak Black Drops New Visuals For “Stressed Out”

Kodak Black Unleashes New Album 'When I Was Dead'

Combining street vignettes with the soul of a world-weary blues singer, Kodak Black is rap’s most indelible innovator. Since releasing “No Flockin” in 2014, the 26-year-old has turned pain, and mortal danger into block boy scripture. He’s earned 42 Billboard Hot 100 chart placements, billions of streams, over 30 platinum and gold RIAA-certified records, and status as one of his generation’s most gifted songwriters. He reinforces his reputation with When I Was Dead, a cathartic new album for Capitol Records.

After building momentum with popular freestyles, Kodak consummated his level-up with Project Baby, a 2013 mixtape that crystallized his penchant for immediate, first-person narratives and anthemic hooks that invoked the spirit of his neighborhood. By 2016, he’d become XXL Freshman. The following year, his debut album Painting Pictures debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 album. In 2018, his Travis Scott and Offset-featured single, “ZEZE,” peaked at No. 2. Despite several stints in prison, his winning streak has only continued. At the end of 2021, Kodak’s searing “Super Gremlin” peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100. His appearances on Kendrick Lamar’s Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers only reaffirmed his status as a young legend.

Now, Mr. Kapri is back with the visuals from his latest single “Stressed Out”, where he talks about having a baby on the way, being delinquent in his attorney fees and a host of other problems that comes with being South Florida’s most wanted rapper.

Kodak Black Posts IG Video Of James Harden Signing His Jersey

Kodak Black loves to make a scene at sporting events. The Florida rapper went viral for grinding on a woman at a Florida Panthers hockey game in 2022. He also popped up in the locker room of the Florida Atlantic football team, which led many fans to clown him for acting like he was a player. Kodak kept the outrageous sports behavior going at a recent Phoenix Suns game, as he cornered James Harden and asked him to sign a jersey. Not in the stadium, mind you, but on top of a car in a parking garage.

Kodak Black posted a video of the exchange on his Instagram Stories. He can be seen standing next to Harden as he signs the jersey. The “Tunnel Vision” rapper also made reference a mutual friend of theirs, Drake, by quoting lyrics from Drizzy’s song “The Shoe Fits.” “What that boy say??” Kodak asks Harden. “He say the n***a lost his h*e to James Harden, the Snip.” Harden laughs in acknowledgment, as “The Shoe Fits” tells a story about a woman who ends up striking up a relationship with the Suns superstar.

Kodak Black Rapped Drake Lyrics to Harden

“My new boo hoopin’ tonight and he said he play at the Garden,” Drake raps. “He said if I ain’t watching, then that n***a ain’t startin. She point to the guy that she talkin’ ’bout and it’s James Harden.” Kodak has expressed frustration with Drake in the past, claiming that he was supposed to make a collab album with the 6 God before he made Her Loss (2022) with 21 Savage. Evidently, Kodak is still enough of a fan that he knows the words from Drake’s latest release. So does Harden.

Kodak may have a reputation for being a troubled celebrity, but he has given back in the realm of sports. He organized a charity basketball game in Broward Country in 2022, eventually raising $5K for Lippman Youth Shelter in Oakland Park. Broward County Commissioner Dale Holness subsequently made June 11 “Kodak Black Day.” Hunter Pollack, who organized the game with Kodak, praised his kindness towards the next generation of athletes. “He cares about the community he grew up in, and the entire community is proud of him,” he noted. “It shows he has a good heart, and he wants to make a difference.”

[WATCH] Kodak Black On Breaking His Pill Addiction: I Never Been This Happy In My Life

Kodak Black Says He's Drake's Favorite Rapper | The Source

South Florida rap standout Kodak Black took to Instagram to talk about his road to recovery, telling his fans and followers that he’s back in the driver’s seat when it comes to his abuse of prescriptions pills, specifically the opiate Percocet.

I remember a point in my life when I was chewing a lot of Percs,” he said. “Bro, I’m proud of myself. I’ve never been this happy in my life, bro. I don’t know where this came from, what the fuck going on. I ain’t even going to say I’m anti-Perc. Like, I never took a Perc since I been home. But bro, my dosage so low that I can’t believe it myself. Man, I’m telling y’all, bro.”

Yak added, “Before I just went to jail, bro, I was taking… I can talk about this because it’s my testimony. Bro, I’m hollering at y’all, ain’t no shame in my shit. I was taking, bro, at least 100 Percs. Bro, my average was 40 Percocets. I’m telling y’all this man. I ain’t know, to the point where I look at this shit and be like, what the fuck was wrong with me, bruh? I listen to my music and be like, bro, what the fuck, fam?”

Prescription drug overdoses are the third leading cause of all deaths in the United States and Europe, only second to heart disease and cancer.

Kodak Black Bewilders Fans After Shutting Down Diddy Comparison: “I Even Might K*ll Me A Kid But I Ain’t R*ping”

Diddy’s legal issues are all anyone can talk about right now and it makes sense as to why. Every allegation and lawsuit sent his way have been for serious matters. Sexual harassment, sex trafficking, r*pe, are just a handful of things that the music mogul has been accused of. It eventually led to Homeland Security Investigations to raid both of his properties in Miami and Los Angeles. A few rappers have been linked to the businessman, including Meek Mill, who has been on the wrong side of a lot of jokes. Now, some are throwing in Kodak Black as fans were making the comparison to Diddy over his new look.

According to AllHipHop, Kodak recently went on a live stream with one the biggest names in the space, Adin Ross. During their link up, the Florida rapper read a remark from a viewer that read, “Kodak look like Florida Diddy lmao.” The comparison kind of makes sense, as the hitmaker is now rocking a mustache and goatee, as well as a shorter hairstyle. However, Kodak did not find the comment to be that hilarious and his response back was eye raising.

“B**** you got me f***ed up. No Diddy. Take that Take it. I’ll smack me a elderly b****, I even might k*ll me a kid but I aint r*ping. I mean kill him as a baby, but I ain’t raping. I ain’t doing that,” Black said with a slurred delivery. It seems he was a bit under the influence during that rant, but it did not stop fans from pointing out the obvious red flag. “Am I the only one who caught him saying might even ki.. me a kid!? I’m not tripping,” one fan replied. Kodak has had his fair share of legal problems as well, but this is very alarming to hear, nonetheless.

What are your thoughts on Kodak Black denying Diddy comparisons in this manner? Regardless if he was under the influence or not, why do you think he said this? Does his new look make him look like Diddy to you? How do you see this playing out down the line? We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave your takes in the comments section. Kodak Black’s Lawyer Responds To The Limo Company Suing The Rapper For Over $618K In Unpaid Services

Kodak Black has had a few unfortunate runs with the law in the last two years. Since his release from prison in February, the “Last Day In” rapper has kept a relatively low profile.

But it appears his alleged past actions are catching up with him. According to HipHopDX (a fellow subsidiary of Warner Music Group), Kodak is being sued by a transportation service company for unpaid services.

In the documents filed on March 27, I&D Concierge, a limo company based in Queens, New York, accused Kodak of supposedly racking up a tab of $618,070.10. A representative for the business alleged that for several months, Kodak would average out six figures in transportation needs.

However, Kodak Black’s attorney, Bradford Cohen, spoke with TMZ. “I&D took full advantage of his client when he was going through a rough patch,” he said. “And capitalized on the situation.”

Cohen alleges that I&D “ran the clock” when Kodak would call for a car. Due to the hour-long wait, Kodak decided to order an Uber instead, forgetting to cancel his initial request with I&D. However, the I&D driver arrived at his home and sat there until Kodak came back; the company went on to bill him for up to 16 hours.

Read the full excerpt listed in the court paperwork below.

Commencing in September 2018, the defendant engaged Plaintiff’s services and began using Plaintiff for its transportation needs on a regular basis. From September 2018 to December 2023, Defendant’s charges with Plaintiff averaged approximately $150,000 to $200,000 per month.

Between January 2023 and December 2023, in accordance with the agreement and terms between the parties, as well their course of dealing, Plaintiff provided Defendants, pursuant to their specific instance, request and confirmed order, the following services totaling $618,070.11 (the “Charges”).

Kodak Black Raps About All That Is Holy On “Non Believer”

With his latest releases, Kodak Black has been getting more and more personal. The Florida rapper and singer has not had the cleanest record outside of music, but it seems he is trying to change his image. While not every track in this style has landed for him, we can certainly appreciate the effort in expanding his tonal range. That is what Kodak Black is doing on this latest single “Non Believer.”

This is now the fourth major release that we have seen the multi-hyphenate on. One of his best performances of the year without a doubt landed on “JEEZU.” THE BOOK OF CLARENCE soundtrack cut featuring Doja Cat and Adekunle Gold, was a powerful cut and major highlight on the project thanks to Black’s contributions. Like that film, Kodak is also focusing on God and religion.

Put the Glock in the converter and it turn into a rifle
Gunpowder in my dreads, I’m smokin’ paper out the Bible

Kodak Black Drops New Spriritual Single “Non Believer”

unnamed 1

Today, multi-Platinum-selling rapper Kodak Black unleashes “Non Believer,” a spiritual new song that marks one of his most deeply personal to date. Coated in piercing reflection and existential exploration, the new single is as vulnerable as it is mesmerizing. Listen to “Non Believer” HERE out now via Vulture Love / Capitol Records

Coasting bursts of insistent percussion and supple guitar strings that let his words breathe, Kodak Black dives into themes of morality. The Pooh Beatz, EJ Beats, and Juji produced record sifts through tragic outcomes and evolving morality with disarming honesty. “Lord knows I’m not perfect, but I try to make it right,” he raps, his raw admission spilling out with unguarded sincerity. Earnest, melodic and unflinchingly transparent, it’s quintessential Kodak. It’s also a sign of a young creator growing as a rapper while turning his mistakes into the most compelling art in the world of music.

“Non Believer” follows the release of “Shampoo,” a confident burst of street rap that typifies the style that made him a superstar. On “Shampoo” he effortlessly shifts his cadence as he victoriously and confidently assures, “I got the sauce—like a condiment. Of course, “Shampoo” was preceded by When I Was Dead, an engrossing album that sees Kodak lay bare his nightmares and blood-stained aspirations. Powered by lead single, “Lemme See,” the LP only reaffirmed Kodak’s status as one of the most powerful artists of his generation.

Kodak Black & 6ix9ine Collab Sent Former’s Career On Downward Spiral, Boosie Badazz Says

Boosie Badazz is a man with no shortage of opinions, and one person who’s always happy to hear them is DJ Vlad. Last year, the Louisana-bred rapper revealed he reportedly makes $500K from the media outlet for sitting down with journalists to discuss ongoing events and his contemporaries. On Monday (March 25), VladTV shared a new clip from a conversation with Boosie, this one focusing on Kodak Black’s diss on his “11AM in Malibu” song, which came out back in February.

According to the “Wipe Me Down” hitmaker, their ongoing drama is because Yak still feels a way about Boosie’s reaction to his collaboration with 6ix9ine. “What I said really affected him,” he told Vlad. “He not letting it go. What I said about [‘Shaka Laka’], it seem like since then, he been downhill. I think he regret what he did with Tekashi,” the 41-year-old went on.

Boosie Badazz and DJ Vlad Discuss Kodak Black’s Career

The Florida and New York track arrived in the summer of 2023, shortly after 6ix9ine experienced a brutal deatdown at a gym in Kodak’s home state. At the time, Boosie made it known that he wasn’t impressed with the young MC’s decision, leading to them trading shots online and in the studio. Since the “Mind of a Maniac” artist’s latest thoughts hit the blogs, we have yet to hear a response from Bill Kapri, but we’ll keep you posted on the latest as it comes.

While Boosie has his own reasons for detesting anyone who collaborates with 6ix9ine, it’s hard to deny that he makes some valid points. Kodak Black’s behaviour as of late has left many confused, from being arrested while sleeping in a vehicle earlier this year to seemingly rekindling his relationship with Mellow Rackz shortly after welcoming a baby with Maranda Johnson. Read all about the latter situation at the link below, and let us know if you think Yak can make a comeback musically in the comments.
