Juice WRLD’s Posthumous Release “The Pre-Party” Offers Two Highly Anticipated Tracks

Juice WRLD's Posthumous Release "The Pre-Party" Offers Two Highly Anticipated Tracks

Today, fans of the late Juice WRLD are treated to a surprise release, “The Pre-Party,” a two-track set featuring songs they’ve been buzzing about for years. This release includes the emo-rap track “World Tour (Aquafina)” and the Young Thug-assisted “Lightyears,” which adds a touch of country flair to the mix.

Released at 9 AM globally on September 9th, the timing nods to Juice WRLD’s cherished “999” mantra, symbolizing the transformation of negative experiences into positives.

“World Tour (Aquafina)” was first teased during Juice WRLD’s Instagram Live in 2018, leaving fans eagerly awaiting its release. The song starts with Juice inhaling before diving into DJ Relentt’s synth-heavy beats, delivering vivid lyrics about excess and euphoria: “I can’t feel my tongue, shorty, I’m off the moll’, yeah / I still see the snakes, n****, run inside, yeah.”

“Lightyears” showcases a different vibe, blending melancholic guitar riffs with a booming bass. Juice reflects on escapism, singing, “Taking trips off the Percs, I be sky high,” while Young Thug adds his own flex: “Ride big Bentleys everywhere that I go.”

Produced by Nick Mira, who has worked on multiple Juice WRLD albums, these tracks reflect the artist’s legacy and ongoing influence. “The Pre-Party” follows Juice’s recent appearance on Ski Mask the Slump God’s single “Wake Up!” and December’s “Lace It,” featuring Eminem and benny blanco.

Juice WRLD Drops Two Posthumous Tracks, “World Tour(Aquafina)” And “Lightyears” Feat. Young Thug

Today, from the late, legendary Juice WRLD comes The Pre-Party, a two-pack of highly anticipated songs fans have been trading notes about for years. The surprise set pairs luxe emo-rap cut “World Tour (Aquafina)” with “Lightyears” featuring Young Thug, which has a slight country sway to it. Listen HERE via Grade A and Interscope Records. The 9AM global timing of the 9.9 release is significant to Juice WRLD and his fandom as a cherished number (999) that symbolizes the concept of flipping a bad situation into a positive one.

Juice previewed “World Tour (Aquafina)” on Instagram Live back in 2018, leaving listeners wondering if they’d ever hear the official release. Now, they can listen closely as the Chicago star inhales at the top of the track, then swan-dives through DJ Relentt’s jewel-tone synths into a blissed-out fever dream that rolls drugs, sex, and threats into a technicolor blur: “I can’t feel my tongue, shorty, I’m off the moll’, yeah / I still see the snakes, n****, run inside, yeah.”

“Lightyears” takes a different tack, mixing downcast guitar with booming bass while the two rap visionaries paint a modern picture of class and excess. “Taking trips off the Percs, I be sky high / In the sky sippin’ on red lean like it’s red wine,” Juice coos, while Young Thug flexes, “Ride big Bentleys everywhere that I go / Keep the Lamborghini parked at the bank though.” The beat comes courtesy of longtime Juice friend and collaborator Nick Mira

The latter song has also been the subject of much speculation. Before Juice’s passing, Thug confirmed the two had more songs in the works, and their chemistry has been affirmed time and again, from Future’s “Red Bentley” (2018), to Juice’s “On God” (2019), to their collab track “Bad Boy” (2021), on through Thug’s “Money” featuring Nicki Minaj (2023) – to name a few. Mira’s involvement with “Lightyears” upped the anticipation — he’s had multiple songs on every Juice album to date, including Top 10 hits “Lucid Dreams,” “Bandit,” and “Smile.”

Juice WRLD’s Estate Drops Off “World Tour (Aquafina)” / “Lightyears” Ahead Of Rumored Album

There will always be a debate around whether or not dropping music posthumously is ethical or not. For the most part, though, it seems that fans of one rapper in particular are willing to throw that question out of the window. That artist we are talking about is Juice WRLD, easily one of the most beloved MCs of the 2010s and maybe ever. His impact on the genre is still being felt even after leaving us way too early back in 2019. Since passing away, we have received two albums and a multitude of singles. Today, we are receiving more of the latter from the estate of Juice WRLD with “World Tour (Aquafina)” and “Lightyears”.

This being billed as a two-pack referred to as The Pre-Party. If you remember, there have been serious talks about a third and final posthumous album in the works called The Party Never Ends. To us, this EP seems like even more confirmation that this is actually going to happen and maybe by the end of the year. Another reason why we feel this is all but true is because of the “Lace It” track we got with Eminem and benny blanco back in December of last year. That single is being billed as potential cut for the record. For now, though, all we can do is wait and spin “World Tour” and “Lightyears”.

Yeah, I hang with them demons, no 666

DJ Scheme Teases Two New Posthumous Juice WRLD Albums

Juice WRLD has been gone since 2019, but his music continues to dazzle listeners. He was a wildly prolific artist, which is why there have been more posthumous releases that official releases during his lifetime. Juice WRLD had a lot of music he wanted to get out. It sounds like fans will get a chance to hear more of it soon. DJ Scheme, Juice’s longtime collaborator, dropped a bombshell announcement on Twitter on August 27. He made it known that two posthumous Juice WRLD albums are in the works.

DJ Scheme told fans that he’d recently been in touch with Lil Bibby. The latter is the founder of the A Grade label that Juice WRLD was part of during his lifetime. Scheme claimed that Lil Bibby gave him an update with regards to new Juice WRLD, and that two different projects would be hitting shelves soon. The first would be an album comprised of entirely new material. The second would be a greatest “leaks” to commemorate some of the unreleased tracks that fans have heard over the years. “I know I said this before,” DJ Scheme wrote. “Bibby told me there an album and then another project full of his ‘greatest leaks.’ Jus tryna keep y’all updated.”

Juice WRLD’s Estate Will Release Fan Favorite Leaks

Juice WRLD’s posthumous released have been well received by fans and critics. It seems like there is lots of care taken with the mastering process. Plus, the rapper left behind so much music that his estate haven’t had to resort to recycling verses. He even got a posthumous feature on an Eminem album. There has been some hiccups along the way, though. At the top of the month, producer Joshua Jaramillo sued the Juice WRLD estate over songwriting royalties. He claimed that he co-wrote the song “Girl of My Dreams” and was subsequently given the runaround when it came to residual pay.

There have been some accusations of exploitation on the part of the rapper’s estate. Especially with lead singles being released under the ghoulish title of “Already Dead.” That said, the estate claimed that Juice WRLD wanted his music to be heard and shared with the world. “There was nothing more [he] enjoyed more than delivering new music to his millions of fans around the world,” the statement read. “He left behind an astonishingly deep catalog of music that will ensure his fans will have new songs to listen to for years to come.”

Nicki Minaj Previews Drake & Juice WRLD Collabs Ahead Of Next “Pink Friday 2” Deluxe

Yesterday, August 20, Nicki Minaj sent out a tweet that had the Barbz truly elated. “PF2 #GagCityReloaded – the album”. Yes, if two expanded editions of Pink Friday 2 weren’t enough for you, a third alternate version is on its way. However, we are currently being left in the dark about when it will release. That remains true today as well, according to AllHipHop. Nicki Minaj hopped on Instagram Live for about 45 minutes late last night with over 4,700 fans tuning in, presumably to hear any sort of extra news.

If that’s true, then the Queens, New York MC certainly fulfilled their wishes. As we said, she wasn’t able to give a drop date, but here are the words straight from the source. “I will be doing a deluxe version of Pink Friday 2. It will be called Pink Friday 2 Gag City Reloaded. It’s going to be out soon. Do I have the exact dates for you? No. Is it coming out this week? No. But it’s coming”. However, that was about the only disappointing part of the whole Live because she would go on to preview several tracks that could be on this deluxe.

Nicki Minaj Gives The Barbz A Taste Of Several Tracks

Some of them included Drake and Juice WRLD collaborations. However, it seems like the former won’t be on Gag City Reloaded as she was playing a version of Camila Cabello’s “HOT UPTOWN” with her on it that didn’t see the light of day. “I’m not on it but the song is out”. Later, Nicki would go on to play two, “Anxiety” and “Mamita”, with the latter having potentially multiple guests. Fans were enjoying the former and it turns out to be one of her favorites as well. “Isn’t that so beautiful”? Finally, for Juice WRLD, she’s really hoping she can get him on it. “It would be incredible for me I think to have Juice WRLD on this album. Because before he passed that’s what we were talking about. He recorded a bunch of stuff when he was in my studio, but I don’t like to exploit people, and people’s deaths and stuff like that”.

“Blonde Hair” was one of the tracks that made its way onto her IG Live. Overall, there’s a lot of excitement around this upcoming deluxe and it seems that there’s a chance for a lot of extra material. Juice WRLD Producer Sues The Rapper’s Estate Over Unpaid Royalties

Juice WRLD died under tragic circumstances in 2019. The rapper’s legacy, however, has only gotten stronger in the five years that he’s been gone. There have been three posthumous studio albums put out under his name, which is more than was released when he was alive. One of these albums, however, has sparked a legal battle between producer Joshua Jaramillo and Juice WRLD’s estate. Jaramillo claims he has yet to be paid royalties for the 2021 song “Girl of My Dreams.”

The song was featured on Juice WRLD’s album Fighting Demons, and is notable for featuring BTS star Suga. “Girl of My Dreams” was released as a promotional single, and peaked at 29 on the Billboard Hot 100. Joshua Jaramillo is credited as a songwriter on “Girl of My Dreams” alongside Juice WRLD, but the court docs assert that he’s still waiting on payment. Jaramillo claims he worked on the song in exchange for 1% of the royalties and 5% ownership of the rights. He’s reportedly reached out to the the rapper’s estate multiple times to secure payment. He attempted to determine how much money the song has made, but the estate did not provide an answer.

Juice WRLD’s Estate Is Being Sued For Unspecified Damages

Joshua Jaramillo is now suing the rapper’s estate for unspecified damages. The producer is also demanding he be shown the accounting numbers for “Girl of My Dreams.” The music Juice WRLD’s estate has released since the rapper’s death has been a source of intense debate. Some fans feel the rapper would have preferred to keep unreleased music, well, unreleased. Others are eager to hear what he had in the works prior to his death. Juice WRLD’s estate issued a statement addressing their decision to release posthumous albums in 2021.

“He left behind an astonishingly deep catalog of music,” the statement read. “That will ensure his fans will have new songs to listen to for years to come.” The legal complications brought about by Joshua Jaramillo is not stopping the estate from putting out even more music. Juice WRLD’s sixth album, and fourth posthumous, The Party Never Ends, is slated for release in 2024. The album has been teased since 2021, and is rumored to feature an Eminem collaboration. Juice and Eminem previously appeared on the song “Godzilla.”

Bronny James Is Honoring Juice WRLD By Wearing 9 With The Lakers

Bronny James met with the media for the first time as a member of the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday. James and fellow 2024 NBA Draft selection Dalton Knecht spoke about their jump to the league, and while James unsurprisingly got plenty of questions about one Laker teammate in particular, both players got the chance to dive into why they are wearing their respective jersey numbers.

James will wear the No. 9 in Los Angeles, and explained how he did it as a way to honor Juice WRLD, the rapper who passed away back in 2019.

“Juice has just been a big part of me keeping calm in some situations that I’ve been through,” James explained. “So yeah, just paying homage to him, especially cause he passed, it’s a really important thing for me.”

For Knecht, things were a little more simple, as he decided to take advantage of the fact that his college number is worn by Anthony Davis by going with a pun based on his last name.

“I knew eventually, like, I probably would have to run into the number 4,” Knecht said. “But, 3’s been my number my whole life, and then, yeah, 3, AD got it, so why not do Knecht 4? Why not?”

Bronny James Wearing “9” To Honor Juice WRLD Lebron Reveals

Bronny James’ path to landing on the Los Angeles Lakers via the 2024 NBA Draft is not as easy as some are making it out to be. Obviously, his dad played a fairly substantial role in helping him make his dream a reality. But the USC product had to still put in all of the work to train, learn the game, eat right, and etc. to get noticed to begin with. Fans are also quick to forget that he dealt with a major roadblock before his collegiate career even got underway. While training, the guard went into cardiac arrest, and it was a pretty scary moment for him and his family.

He never let that deter him and instead absorbed all the noise and now he can say what many people cannot, “I’m an NBA player”. All of this adversity is why Bronny James is wearing number “9” this season, as he is paying respect to the late rap legend, Juice WRLD. LeBron revealed this according to a Shade Room IG repost. It was revealed a while back that the 19-year-old got “999” tattooed behind his ear. For those unfamiliar, Juice WRLD essentially gave that three-digit number meaning by including it in every part of his life. According to Genius, the Chicago icon also tweeted back in 2018 about its significance.

“I took the hell I was going through (666) and flipped it over into something positive (999)”. Bronny James is certainly not going to stop hearing people talk down on him when he hits the NBA hardwood. Like LeBron, he is going to be under a microscope for everything he does. Bronny is already enduring “hell” in that regard, but he looks to be ready for the challenge. If Juice WRLD were here, there is no question he would be proud of the young star.

What are your thoughts on Bronny James wearing number nine for the late Juice WRLD? Did you know the meaning the rapper gave “999”? How do you think his career in the NBA will pan out? What kind of player do you think he will resemble the most? We would like to hear what you have to say, so leave your thoughts in the comments. Bronny James Reveals Which Jersey Number He’ll Wear On The Lakers

Bronny James is going to be under a microscope from now on. He was already getting tons of attention for being LeBron James’ son, but now that he’s on the Lakers, things have been kicked up a notch. He’s going to be subject to the same scrutiny as his dad. Especially since the two of them will be on the same team. Bronny James was drafted on June 27, and sports media erupted a day later when it was revealed which jersey number he’ll be wearing on the court. Bronny will be rocking number “9.”

TMZ broke the news on June 28. Bronny James has worn a number of different numbers over the years. He rocked “0” when he played on Sierra Canyon, but that has already been claimed by Lakers star Jalen Hood-Schifino. He wore “6” during his time with the USC Trojans, but he was never going to be able to wear it in the NBA. The number “6” has been retired league wide, in honor of Boston Celtics legend Bill Russell. Bronny also shied away from rocking a number that his dad has worn, like “23.” He ultimately settled on “9,” which is a number he actually has tattooed on his body. Bronny James has a “999” behind his ear. The tattoo is a tribute to one of his favorite rappers, Juice WRLD.

TMZ also confirmed that Bronny James will have a “Jr.” on his jersey name. The outlet did not clarify whether LeBron James will have a “Sr.” added to his jersey, however. Regardless of what happens with naming conventions, the Lakers are thrilled to have both James’ on their team. Rob Pelinka, the Lakers vice president of basketball operations and general manager, issued a statement following the draft. “In the history of the NBA,” he wrote. “There’s never been a father and a son that have shared an NBA basketball court. And that feels like something that could be magical.”

Bronny James has yet to discuss the historical significance of his situation. His father, who is rarely at a loss for words, has also been quiet. Sources close to the Lakers legend claimed that he was “emotional” following the draft selection. The only direct acknowledgment of the father-son achievement has been on Bronny’s Twitter account. He posted of him and LeBron on the court together, with the caption: “Los Angeles Lakers.” It’s going to be a special season for LA fans.
