Quavo’s New Song ‘Honey Bun’ Has A Nod To Drake And 21 Savage’s ‘Rich Flex’

In January, Quavo shared “Without You,” a powerful tribute to Takeoff, his late nephew and fellow Migos member. He took the song to the Grammys for the In Memoriam segment. The lyrics found Quavo in mourning: “Tears rolling down my eyes / Can’t tell you how many times I cried / Days ain’t the same without you,” he sings. Now, he’s back with another song for Takeoff.

“Honey Bun” is more playful than the last one; it unexpectedly references Drake and 21 Savage’s recent hit “Rich Flex”: “Honey bun, can you do somethin’ for me? (Do somethin’) / Can you go automatic just for me?” Quavo sings in the same melody. This time, he’s not asking for sympathy: “I don’t wanna hear no sorry for my loss,” he raps.

Last month, he also unveiled the song “Greatness.” He alluded to the end of Migos, rapping, “Came in, swept the game like a storm with the motherf*ckin’ flow, Take’ did that / So don’t ask ’bout the group, he gone, we gone…it can’t come back.”

The other week, he also went on NBC’s That’s My Jam to perform a humorous cover of Lil Jon and The Eastside Boyz’s “Get Low.”

Quavo Interpolates Drake & 21 Savage’s “Rich Flex” On “Honeybun”

Twitter has a way of inciting feuds between just about anybody. Given that it’s a free(ish) forum for public opinion, it doesn’t take long for people to air out their unadulterated thought and gain some sort of validation from the public. That’s especially true when it comes to rap beef and it appears that some feel as though Quavo might have a bone to pick with Drake. With the release of the Atlanta rapper’s new single, “Honeybun,” several references to Her Loss left many confused about the status between the former tourmates.

It’s one line in particular that fueled the suspicions of tension between the two artists. “N***as singing like Diana Ross, n***a/ I don’t wanna hear no sorry for my loss, n***a,” Quavo raps on the record. Though this doesn’t necessarily pinpoint an issue, Internet conspiracy theorists felt like Quavo referenced Her Loss in an unflattering way. However, there’s more than enough evidence available in this song alone to debunk this theory.

Drake Clears “Rich Flex” For Quavo

Though that one bar, in particular, led some to believe that Quavo took shots at Drake, the fact that he interpolated “Rich Flex” from the 21 Savage-assisted Her Loss is a clear indication that the two remain on good terms. On the hook for the single, Quavo flips the heavily meme’d intro for the chorus, rapping, “Honeybun, can you do somethin’ for me?/ Can you go automatic just for me?/ Tommy gun, can you do somethin’ for me?/ Can you call Al Capone for me?” Even though some felt like Quavo mocked Drake, the Canadian rapper, along with his Atlanta counterpart, would’ve likely had to clear the use of their song beforehand.

The latest release from the Migos rapper marks his third drop of 2023, which seems to be a strong indication that his solo album is on the way. The rapper took a rightful hiatus following Takeoff’s passing but returned to the limelight at the beginning of the year. He and Drake rang in the New Year together at Diddy’s party. Since then, Quavo’s released “Without You,” a tribute to Takeoff, and most recently, “Greatness.” Check out his new single above and let us know what you think of Quavo’s latest single.

Drake Becomes Latest Rapper To Flex The Virgil Abloh Maybach

Drake is one of the richest artists in the entire world. It is easy to understand how that came to be. Overall, he has some of the best-selling records of this generation. Moreover, he is someone who has been able to captivate audiences, which leads to sold-out tours. He even makes a lot of money through a plethora of endorsements and investments. One can just look at his role at Nike to understand that he is much more than a musician, he is also a global icon.

At this point in his career, he can pretty well afford whatever he wants. There isn’t a single piece of jewelry that he cannot acquire. Additionally, if he wants to purchase a new home or perhaps even his own private island, he can do that as well. As far as material goods are concerned, expensive cars are also very much on the table for Drake. Why not? They are fun to drive and they look very good. This is especially true when the car itself is designed by one of the most respected designers in the history of contemporary fashion.

Drake Takes The Maybach To Miami

In case you haven’t noticed, a lot of artists have been flexing the Virgil Abloh Maybach as of late. Abloh’s passing was devastating for the fashion world, although he certainly left his mark. One of the last things he did was create this gorgeous Maybach which can be seen in the video above. According to 2Cool2Bl0g, Drake was driving this vehicle around the streets of Miami. We’ve been reporting on Drake’s Miami exploits, and as it turns out, this car was a big part of his trip. Overall, the vehicle has neutral tones but is flashy thanks to the black and tan split.

Lil Baby and Swizz Beatz have also been pictured with this car. Needless to say, it isn’t the rarest car in the world. There are plenty of them out on the market for those who want or can afford them. That said, there is no doubt that Drake was excited to take this car for a spin. Let us know what you think about the Virgil Maybach, in the comments below.

50 Cent Gasses Drake’s New Music, Says Canadian Has “Hard Shit” Coming Soon

New music from Drake has been coming more frequently than ever before, and from the sounds of things, he’s not quite done with his rollout just yet. As he and 21 Savage prepare to head out on their It’s All A Blur tour in a few month’s time, the father of one has been teasing a new track on Instagram – one which 50 Cent is seemingly already co-signing. In the unreleased snippet, fans hear Champagne Papi sing about the qualities he’s looking for in a woman after so many years spent in the spotlight.

“I need someone to be patient with me / Someone to get money, would not take it from me,” his voice croons on the BYNX-produced beat. “They don’t even need to be as famous as me / I don’t think I meet ’em at the places I be / But deep down I think about you all day, mami.” While the untitled song has yet to hit DSPs, fans all across the internet are already begging Drake to share the fire single in time for summer.

50 Cent Co-Signs Drake’s Upcoming Releases

According to 50 Cent, that may not be the only heat we hear from his Canadian friend in the coming months. As HipHopDX notes, the New Yorker jumped in the comment section of a @gunitbrands post that sees Drizzy wearing a G-Unit shirt to give the Scorpion artist his flowers. “I f*ck wit Drake,” Fif confirmed. “He getting ready to come with some hard shit. You know the vibes n*gga,” he later added.

As you may recall, the Toronto native faced significant backlash earlier this week after cancelling his headlining performance at Lolapalooza. Hours before the announcement was made, photos of Drake partying with 50 Cent at a club in Miami surfaced online, causing many to speculate that a wild night out on the town resulted in the younger lyricist’s decision to cancel. Despite the gossip, his team maintains that it was missing production staff who resulted in the concert’s cancellation. Read more about that here, and let us know if you’re excited about more music from the 36-year-old in the comments.
