On Cam and Mase’s most recent episode of their It Is What It Is podcast, told their audience that he and Brooklyn Nets star Ben Simmons almost took it to the physical.
At around the 50 minute mark of the show, the Dipset head honcho turned sportscaster recalled sitting courtside at the Lakers vs. Nets game when he noticed Ben Simmons on the bench and joked that he forgot he played basketball.
Cam then spoke about going to the VIP area and crossing paths with Simmons after the game and mentally preparing himself for what might have to happen if the two took the beef to fisticuffs. Cam criticized Simmons for playing mind games and suggested that Simmons communicate honestly instead of engaging in such behavior, hinging on the fact that he doesn’t appreciate the games
Cam’ron and Ma$e’s hit sports talk show It Is What It Is has never failed to produce some downright hilarious moments. It is part of the reason why it was picked up by a major sports betting company and is raking in tons of viewers and money. Cam knows how to tell stories while also giving his unfiltered commentary on sports and it all comes together in a perfect symphony. Those two aspects of the show were on full display recently.
The New York legend retold something that happened to him this past weekend. Cam’ron attended the Nets at Lakers game on Friday, January 19. His Brooklyn squad walked out of L.A. with a 130-112 win. However, as they have done for the majority of this season, they played without Ben Simmons. The troubled LSU product for whatever reason cannot stay on the court. Cam’ron is at many of the Nets home games as well and as he was walking out of the arena, he and Ben had a tense moment.

Cam made quite a fun poke at Ben during his story saying that he was “buggin’” from the fact that he forgot he still was in the league. As the host continues, he mentions they had a stare-down essentially. Comments must have been made by Cam’ron to have Simmons be upset with him. However, it never went past that and he was quite frustrated that he did not confront him about it. Cam would have rather had that than him “playing games.” The panel asked frequent guest OJ Simpson about his thoughts on it and he mentioned that he would have had his back. “I have had to zip my n**** suit once in a while.” That sent everyone and had them laughing. Ben has only appeared in six games this season with his last one being against the Bucks on November 6.

Ma$e and Cam’ron continued their crusade to uphold the gender binary . The pair laughed at Dwyane Wade’s painted nails so hard that they cried. Wade had painted his nails in the Heat’s signature colors as he attended a Hall of Fame ceremony and statue unveiling in Miami. However, this mundane act was enough to reduce the pair of 40-somethings to fits of tearful laughter. Ignoring Treasure Wilson’s reasoning that plenty of male celebrities now paint their nails, the rap duo went as far as to nonsensically compare Wade’s actions to “Michael Jordan modeling lingerie”.
However, there is just a little bit of hypocrisy going on from the pair. After all, Cam’ron himself has previously gotten very upset when people have implied he is “gay” because he famously wears pink. “You know how long I had to hear, ‘Cam’s gay, he wears pink’? Bring your mother around, n-gga. See if she gives a f-ck, n-gga. See if your mom gives a whole f-ck, n-gga. I’ll tell her how gay I am. I’ll f-ck her in the pink mink,” Cam’ron said on a July 2023 episode of It Is What It Is.
Cam’ron Is “Jealous” Of OBJ, Ebonie K. Williams Claims
Meanwhile, Ebonie K. Williams recently argued that Cam’ron is “jealous” of the sexual freedom younger Black men get to enjoy. “Jealous of a sense of gender choice and sexual liberation that the Black men of my generation were denied/didn’t have access to,” Wiliams wrote on social media. Furthermore, Williams was responding to a comment musing on why Cam’ron and other men of his generation are “obsessed” with how younger men choose to live. The conversation had been sparked by Cam’ron and Ma$e mocking Odell Beckham Jr’s “feminine tendencies”.
Queerness and perceived “feminine” behavior is a common topic for Cam’ron, especially when it comes to OBJ. In August 2023, Cam’ron used a video of the wide receiver seemingly appreciating his teammate’s butts during a segement about Dwight Howard. Killa used the video to argue that queer athletes should be segregated from their straight teammates in locker room scenarios. However, the rapper then claimed that he is not homophobic because he’s “got gay relatives”.
Cam’ron and Mase took the time to show love to Jermaine Dupri during the iconic rapper and music executive’s appearance on It Is What It Is. Cam’ron began by recalling his contributions to his debut album, 1998’s Confessions of Fire. Mase, on the other hand, thanked him for helping him secure his first million dollars.
“[H]e’s on my first album with two different cuts, actually did a hook for me,” Cam’ron said. “When I was young, I was real arrogant because my man Mase just sold four million records, and I’m thinking I’m supposed to sell four million records. And I don’t think I ever gave J.D. his flowers for even doing what he did for me. It meant a lot to me that you did that for me, because you invited me to your house and you didn’t have to do that. So I just want to tell you thank you in front of everybody, because I probably never even did it privately, let alone publicly.”

Later in the interview, Mase also thanked Dupri for being “the first guy to ever pay me what I was really worth talent-wise.” He said: “I want to tell you thank you from my heart… I’m forever indebted to you for allowing me to be rich. Cam’ron escalated his beef with Melyssa Ford. The It Is What It Is host wore jeans in which Melyssa Ford’s face was prominently displayed on the crotch. The fashion statement came as Jermaine Dupri joined Cam’ron live in studio while Ma$e co-hosted remotely.
The most recent chapter in the beef between Killa and Ford came in December, when Cam’ron went after Joe Budden for defending Ford. “Ohh she’s an expensive escort? How much bro?” Cam’ron wrote over a clip of Budden’s defense. “Looking bad and sad! This wasn’t a wise decision! Move on y’all best bet,” the rapper also wrote as a caption for his post.
Melyssa Ford and Cam’ron have been feuding for several weeks now. It all started when Ford was commented on a wild story that he told on It Is What It Is at the end of November. “Well, we was gangbanging b-tches. I remember one time — don’t let me talk about the past — we was at this whore house, me and Murda. So we left the b-tch out the wh-re house. I had a lil’ stash crib over there between 7th and Lennox and we brought this b-tch over there,” Cam’ron began beside a mortified Ma$e.
However, Killa was far from finished. “Mase was on the way up, he was popping, he didn’t have his deal but it was about to happen. We so Harlem the b-tch sucked — pardon me ladies — sucking his d-ck so I gotta wait to get my d-ck sucked because I’m not hard yet, pause. So when he’s done hitting it I go get head. And he’s hitting it from the back. He started hitting her, ‘You wasn’t sucking my d-ck like that.’ Yeah, that’s my n-gga,” Cam’ron continued After Ford slammed the story, the rapper hit back, threatening to get her deported. He also went after Joe Budden after Budden defended his co-host.

Furthermore, many of Cam’ron’s actions on his popular sports talk show could be perceived as him further denying the queer allegations. In November 2023, Kisha Chavis, the wife of ex-NBA player Joe Smith, returned to It Is What It Is for a second time. She came at the request of Ma$e to give Cam’ron a massage live on the show. Furthermore, the move was a throwback to the previous week. Chavis revealed during an interview on Check That Stat that one of her non-OnlyFans side hustles was running a massage business. Killa hyper-fixated on this detail, asking Chavis if she would perform a massage on him.
In less than a year, Cam’Ron and Ma$e’s podcast It Is What It Is has gone from just an idea to a massive hit. Just last year the pair signed a major media deal for future seasons of the show. He sold it shortly after on eBay and it’s been in the hands of private collectors ever since. It was recently sold again for a measly $16k likely due to the mileage that’s been put on it in the years since.

And then I had another single with him, ‘Horse & Carriage,’ and he didn’t do that video so my label started gassing me like, ‘Yo why your man ain’t doing the video? He want $50,000 to do the video.’” At that time, Cam’ron was younger and more ego based, allowing himself to feed into the narratives about his friend, leading to them falling out but eventually becoming cool again.
He also told the podcasters that seeing Mase spending time strengthening his connection to God put a rift between them. “Then you know, he went to church. I kinda didn’t understand it at the time because that’s my man all day and I’m like, where church come from?” the multi-talent recalled pondering. “So I started bugging out on him because of that. To be honest with you, the whole s**t was my fault and just not understanding the kind of path he was on at the time. So I kinda was going at him on records and shit and he was ignoring me and shit, then one day he made ‘The Oracle’ and kinda flushed me one day. I was like, ‘That was pretty tough.’”

Anthony Edwards is currently in the news for a huge story that broke over the weekend. Essentially, a woman came out and leaked text messages in which he can be seen asking the woman to get an abortion. Overall, she claims that she was pregnant with his child at the same time that Edwards’ girlfriend was also pregnant. Of course, Edwards did not want the child and immediately resorted to demanding an abortion. Subsequently, the woman obliged although she was clearly uncomfortable with the entire scenario.
Following this leak, Edwards told reporters that he was sorry for what took place and that it was not in his character. It was a heartfelt apology although the damage was already done, in a sense. Now, many are commenting on the Edwards situation as they want to give the young man some guidance. Among those to do this was Cam’ron and Mase. Taking to It Is What It Is early this week, the two offered some sage advice for the young NBA superstar.
In the video above, Cam and Mase waste no time tackling the situation. In the eyes of Mase, Edwards needs to be more sensitive moving forward. He additionally noted that Edwards can’t rely on money to solve all of his problems. Furthermore, Cam chimed in noting that some women do not have good intentions. Consequently, you have to move properly, especially when you know that you have a large contract that may be attractive to people with bad motives. Needless to say, they just want the young man to be more careful.
