Cam’ron & Ma$e Rip J Prince Apart Amid Shakur Stevenson Beef

There is a new installment in the Cam’ron & Ma$e versus Shakur Stevenson beef, as the latter’s manager, J Prince, fires back. If you pay attention to the boxing world, you know that the young and speedy fighter has been trading words with the It Is What It Is panel. This heated debate’s origins trace back to last weekend after the still undefeated lightweight boxer defended his title against the underdog, Artem Harutyunyan. Stevenson went on to win by judge’s decision after showing off his incredible defense and tactical approach. However, a lot of viewers of the violent sport are not too keen on his style, including Ma$e and Cam’ron.

Ma$e started things after saying that he does not want to see Stevenson fight anyone ever again during the segment on their show. It got around to the WBC athlete, and that kicked off the beef. As we mentioned, it is still going, as J Prince is now getting involved, according to AllHipHop. If you are wondering why a musical artist manager is speaking on a boxer’s behalf, it is because Stevenson has been a client of his since late 2016. Prince clapped back at the podcast duo by sharing that his last match was the most watched boxing event of the year.

In the caption, Prince wrote, “NUMBERS DONT LIE HATERS DO”. He then went on to @ the talk show, “And to all of you haters who want to escalate that hate outside of the ring I’m Shakur’s manager and I handle all his business outside of the ring. In other words, Cam and Mase I will fade all his shots and take all bets”. However, Cam’ron and Ma$e are standing firm on their position. They returned the favor by resharing an interview with Top Rank‘s Bob Arum explaining why Stevenson’s methods do not attract the eyes. It Is What It Is also had some choice words for J Prince, stating, “THE FIGHT WAS “FREE 99” SO YEA #’s DO LIE SOME TIMES, N****S MAD AT US FOR SAYING WHAT EVERYBODY ELSE SAYING INCLUDING THE PEOPLE WHO #SHAKUR WAS SIGNED TO “FOH”.

What are your thoughts on J Prince, Cam’ron, and Ma$e continuing their back-and-forth surrounding Shakur Stevenson? Whose side are you on during this ongoing debate? Shakur Stevenson Unleashes On Ma$e, Calls Him “A Fake Pastor” After Rapper Critiques His Fight

WBC star Shakur Stevenson (22-0) took on Artem Harutyunyan (12-2) in the lightweight championship match over the weekend. It all went down in Newark, New Jersey at the Prudential Center and leading up to the fight, Stevenson was quite the favorite. If you are a boxing aficionado, then you know that he is more of a defensive boxer. Because of this more elusive approach, viewers of the sport are not too fond of him overall. At the end of the day, you can either hate the player or hate the game because it has worked swimmingly. Stevenson went onto defeat Harutyunyan by judge’s decision to keep his WBC lightweight belt.

One person who caught the action, was former rapper and co-host of It Is What It Is, Ma$e. Like many boxing watchers, the New York/Florida native is also not too impressed with Stevenson and the way he won. On his immensely popular and unfiltered sports talk show, Ma$e strongly expressed that he does not want to see him box. He cited the people Stevenson learns from and based on their techniques, Ma$e does not understand why the athlete is so different. “For him to be hanging out with Terence Crawford and Andre Ward, there is absolutely no way that he’s fighting the way he’s fighting”.

Well, according to AllHipHop, the champion saw this clip and he went nuclear on the podcaster on X. “Same way I felt bout his rap career n**** more famous for his podcast then his failed career😫”, Stevenson began. However, the It Is What It Is Instagram page had their guy’s back and responded, “3 MONTHS AFTER YOU WERE BORN #MURDA DROPPED HIS FIRST ALBUM & SOLD 5 MILLION COPIES & WENT QUADRUPLE PLATINUM BEFORE SOCIAL MEDIA 🤧 #FACTS WE JUST CALLING IT HOW EVERYBODY ELSE SEE IT 🤷🏽‍♂️”. Stevenson continued to pile on, calling Ma$e a “d*ke”, “a fake pastor”, a “Surviving Diddy a** n****”, and many more derogatory names. You can see more of the rant below.

What are your thoughts on Shakur Stevenson going off on Ma$e for critiquing his boxing match? Do you think both were in the right in terms of how they went about their back and forth? Mase Recalled Beefing With Big L Over Rap Lyrics And How It Led To Him Getting Robbed For His Rolex

Although hip-hop is 50 years old, allowing plenty of time for all kinds of histories to be remembered, there are still new stories to share and discover every day. Case in point, Mase‘s tale of an unexpected feud with fellow Harlemite the late Big L, and how it led to Mase taking a “big L” of his own, which he recounted on the latest episode of his and Cam’ron‘s podcast, It Is What It Is.

Mase explained how the rivalry started, recalling, “[Big L] started using a few of my lyrics… So I checked the n****.” After the confrontation, he said, he bumped into another rapper, Fat Joe, who was in a group with Big L called Diggin In The Crates (they have one album out together, D.I.T.C., released in 2000, and it’s really good. You should check it out). Joe refused to get into the confrontation, so L resorted to asking other mutual acquaintances to handle things.

Eventually, Mase was confronted by a stick-up boy (alongside basketball legend God Shammgod), and in order to get away, he took off his brand-new iced-out Rolex — his first one ever — and threw it away, hoping to distract the robber. However, they were saved by some police — but Mase never got his watch back. He later learned that Big L put the assailant up to the robbery. Check out the story below and the full episode above.

Mase Recalls Big L Allegedly Setting Him Up To Be Robbed

Mase says Big L once set him up to be robbed in Harlem after multiple heated arguments. He reflected on the story during the latest episode of It Is What It Is alongside Cam’ron. Mase began by revealing that they got into an argument because he felt L was biting some of his lyrics.

“Me and L start talking and the conversation goes super left you know. Next thing I know, I’m in The Tunnel [a nightclub] and the n***a Fat Joe comes up to me,” he explained. The two locked eyes but Joe decided not to do anything because he had no issue with Mase. “A couple months later, we get into it about something. I think it was over a chick or something,” he continued. From there, he recalled buying ice cream for the block on 139th Street in New York City while rocking his first Rolex watch. “I get around the corner on 140th and I walk up 140th on seventh to 141st and a Spanish n***a just run outta nowhere like, ‘Give it up. I’ma kill both of y’all n****s.’”

Mase dropped the watch and ran for his life with God Shammgod. Cops immediately pulled up on the robber and arrested him. Shortly afterward, he learned it was Big L who set him up. Fat Joe previously discussed his side of the story during an interview with Angie Martinez on Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson in 2022. At the time, he explained that he didn’t realize the person Big L asked him for help beefing against was Mase, who he was friendly with. He admitted that Mase never trusted him afterward.

Melyssa Ford Fires Back At Cam’ron After Freestyle Diss

Melyssa Ford has fired back at Cam’ron, who dissed her during his recent freestyle on It Is What It Is. While Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards was the primary target of the bars, Ford caught some ire as well, following their recent feud. In response to the move, she wrote on Twitter: “A lie gets halfway around the world before the truth even gets out of bed and puts its pants on. That [ninja emoji] is lying. I didn’t call anyone to deal with that bullsh**. And he’s still talking about it 6 months later. It’s giving…”

In the replies, fans shared supportive messages and advised her not to let Cam’s words get to her. “He just needed something to rhyme with the scheme so Kevin Liles, he made it work. Ignore him,” one user wrote. Another added: “Leave it alone Mel…you know how he goes and you don’t have any one that’s going to step about it. Sometimes you just let it ride. That was days ago, don’t amplify something that has died down with someone who is already looking for a reason to use his platform to embarrass you.”

Ford has been feuding with Cam since December of 2023 when she implied the Dipset rapper may have had sex with an underage sex worker back in the 1990s. Cam took issue with the remarks which prompted an apology from Ford. Despite that, Cam continued to go after her in the ensuing weeks. Eventually, he rocked a pair of jeans with a woman appearing to be Ford pictured with her mouth open over his crotch.

Cam’ron Trolled Anthony Edwards In A Freestyle After Being Shaded In His Adidas Commercial

Cam’ron and Mase’s It Is What It Is podcast has taken its fair share of shots at various athletes over the years, particularly NBA players like Jordan Poole and now, Anthony Edwards. Cam’ron targeted the latter with a few lines in a freestyle over the beat from Black Rob’s hit single “Whoa!” to open the latest episode.

Decked out in a Dallas Mavericks jersey (heh), Cam goes in on the 22-year-old NBA star, rapping, “Go ‘head and grandstand, no style can cramp Cam’s / P**** on a handstand, but f*ck wrong with Ant Man? / Gave him his props, homie got love from me / New commercial, y’all ain’t got love for me? / He shot a jump shot and said, ‘f*ck buddy’ / The receipt reader lookin’ like your f*ck buddy.”

So, what’s got Cam’s knickers in a twist? It seems Ant’s Adidas ad rubbed him the wrong way with its use of one of Cam’s tweets to make a point about Ant proving his haters wrong. The ad includes a printer for Edwards’ “receipts,” which spits out tweets from various celebrities questioning whether the young Minnesota Timberwolves guard is ready to be “the face of the league.”

The tweets are read to Ant by a friend as he takes practice shots, and when he hears that Cam’ron says he’s “an All-Star, but not a superstar yet,” Ant indeed gives a dismissive response and chucks another jumper. The ad’s being celebrated for its simplicity and directness, but clearly, not everybody appreciates Ant’s unfiltered demeanor.

Anyone who’s spent any time around hoopers knows that many of them — especially the best — are crazy petty and take anything less than unadulterated adulation as the saltiest criticism, so his response isn’t exactly surprising. But for the past 25 years, Cam’ron has been an equally petty performer in his own industry, so his response shouldn’t surprise anyone either.

But before anyone goes taking this super serious and demanding guns drawn at dawn, try to remember: it’s all in good fun. Talking sh*t is part of these guys’ livelihoods, so they both know there’s no ill intent. And if/when they see each other at the next All-Star Game, it’ll probably be all love.

You can watch Cam’s freestyle (and his explanation for the clap back) at the top of the episode above.

Cam’ron Reveals His Massive Return On Investment From “It Is What It Is”

Cam’ron has revealed the return on investment he’s made from his new sports talk show, It Is What It Is. He discussed the finances behind the show during a discussion panel at Black Enterprise’s 2024 Disruptor Summit, earlier this month.

“I did three–four episodes by myself,” he began. “I actually invited Mase to be a guest on the show and he was like, ‘Yo man, this is really dope — do you want to go half on it?’ And I’m like, ‘Yeah, we can go half, let’s do it.’ He didn’t even have to put any money up, but he was willing to. I probably did four episodes, maybe five, and they offered me a million dollars and I was like, ‘No.’ And then we got to probably 10 episodes and it got up to like three million dollars, and I was like, ‘Oh, we got something here.’”

He continued: “We actually did 35 episodes, so we did a deal, but I probably spent a $127,000 ’cause I just kept shooting and shooting, and Mase had this number in his head […] When it got to like six million dollars, I was like, ‘Mase we got to— it doesn’t make sense to not do the deal.’ And he had a real number in his head. He’s like, ‘Cam, we got to [wait],’ so we end up doing [a] $20 million deal.” Check out his full comments below.

WATCH: Mase Calls Diddy Raids ‘The Big Payback’

Mase has no remorse for Diddy after his homes were raided. He even highlighted the execution of the federal operations on the anniversary of The Notorious B.I.G.’s Life After Death album.

“Reparations is getting closer and closer,” Mase said in the opener of It Is What It Is with Cam’ron. “I’ll be sure to give you your percentage.”

Later on he would say the moment is “The big payback.”

Cam’Ron And Mase Called Diddy’s Recent Home Raids ‘Reparations’ And Commented On Their ‘Eerie’ Timing

Yesterday was an eventful day for rap record mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs. The music impresario saw his homes raided and family members detained as part of an investigation into alleged sex trafficking that arose as a result of a slew of sexual assault lawsuits against him.

It was also, coincidentally, the anniversary of two albums heavily connected to Combs’ musical legacy: The Notorious B.I.G.’s Life After Death and The Diplomats’ Diplomatic Immunity. Cam’Ron and Mase commented on the “eerie” timing of the raids on the latest episode of their sports podcast It Is What It Is, calling Diddy’s misfortunes “reparations” as they gloated over their former business partner’s legal troubles.

“Reparations is getting closer and closer,” Mase chuckled during the show’s intro. “I ain’t got nothing to do with that money, that’s all yours,” Cam responded. He also noted, “The last year has really been the been payback for you.”

The crux of their comments was Mase’s ongoing financial disputes with Combs, which started in the early 2000s and continued until last year, when Combs finally sold Mase the publishing rights to his music recorded under Bad Boy, along with a slew of other Bad Boy artists. Mase, of course, heavily contributed to Life After Death and became the Bad Boy golden child in the wake of B.I.G.’s 1997 murder, but felt that he was never paid fairly by Diddy, resulting in stints as a pastor and rapper on other labels.

In the prior week’s episode of It Is What It Is, Mase said he had to “escape” Bad Boy, recalling, “Even though I made those decisions and it cost me money, that’s why [when] I got with [Cam’Ron], [God] gave me the money back. I didn’t [really] lose no money. Destiny.”
