Lil Tjay Arrested For The Second Time This Month

It seems like Lil Tjay can’t catch a break: The New York City rapper has been arrested for the second time this month. Just two weeks ago, the “Resume” rapper was detained for gun possession while on his way to film a music video with Ice Spice. The video was presumably for their recent collaboration on the “Munch” rapper’s EP Like..?, on a track titled “Gangsta Boo,” which dropped on January 6.

Reports show that Tjay was with several other people inside a vehicle in a “no-idling zone” before the police searched the car. It’s alleged that the authorities then located a firearm, and despite the rapper not being the driver, he was still arrested.

Tjay’s attorney, Dawn Florio, gave a statement in a recent interview with XXL regarding the rapper’s current situation. According to his attorney, the rapper was not arrested on another gun charge but for missing court.

“Lil Tjay was not rearrested for another gun charge,” she told XXL. “He was excused from appearing in court last Friday by the arraignment Judge. Another Judge revoked his bond and put him back in jail for missing court on Friday even though he was told by the first Judge that he did not have [to] appear.”

Florio also revealed that Tjay’s family has posted bail for the rapper and that he is free.

“It is so unfortunate that he had to be jailed for something that was not his fault,” she said.

Ice Spice Was Hyped At Cardi B’s “Tomorrow 2” Reference

It’s Ice Spice’s time to shine, and artists are noticing her light. The “Munch (Feelin U)” hitmaker has been on a whirlwind since her viral track took over the internet. Rappers spit freestyles over her beats, and she’s been co-signed by several chart-toppers. However, one person’s mention made Ice Spice the most excited.

The Bronx rapper comes from a hometown that hosts a plethora of artists who have found success in Hip Hop. During her chat with Ebro in the Morning on Hot 97, Peter Rosenberg wanted to know which reference from another artist was her favorite.

“Um, when Cardi mentioned it in ‘Tomorrow 2,’” said Spice. “I was like, this sh*t is crazy, bro.”

GloRilla’s “Tomorrow 2” featured Cardi B, who gave a nod to Ice Spice’s “Munch” in her bars.

Ice Spice Had Kendrick Lamar, Azealia Banks, And Nicki Minaj In Constant Rotation As A Teen

Since she first blew up last summer, the world can’t seem to get enough of Ice Spice. The 23-year-old first caught our attention with “Munch (Feelin’ U),” which eventually led her to earn a co-sign from Drake. The Canadian rapper later unfollowed her on Instagram, although she still maintains that they’re “cool.”

Following the release of her debut EP, Like..? earlier this month, the Bronx-born baddie has been more in demand than ever before. It seems as though a new interview has been dropping every day. In one of the more recent ones, Spice revealed some of her earliest musical influences.

During a conversation with ELLE, the “Princess Diana” spitter played a round of “Ask Me Anything.” One of the questions was about her own personal music taste. Surprisingly, she was quick to give Kendrick Lamar his flowers. “I was listening to To Pimp A Butterfly religiously on the way to school. It was like a phase,” she recalled.

Other standouts from the twerk queen’s playlist include Azealia Banks’ 2012 mixtape, Fantasea, as well as Nicki Minaj’s iconic effort, The Pinkprint. Obviously, the latter two are extremely different in lyrical content from the first. Not to mention a wild contrast from the “Instagram caption bars” Spice has been known to drop.

As HipHopDX notes, the redhead was just 15 when Kung-Fu Kenny delivered TPAB in 2015. It earned a subsequent debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. Additionally, it sold 324K units during its first week out.

Spice, on the other hand, is on track to move 14.5K with her Like..? EP later this weekend. It’s likely that the six-track project will debut outside the chart’s top 20. However, it still made a splash across social media.

While her newfound fame has certainly come with plenty of perks, the rising rap star is quickly learning who her real friends are. Recently, Spice shared that she’s had a few people ask her to purchase houses for them now that she’s on the come up.

“I just want to play…I be even having to struggle to find time for myself, really. So, how I’m going to find time for somebody else? Even for family and friends, and myself, I’m still like that little bit of time that I be having on the side is for them and me. N*ggas come last.”

Ice Spice Says She Was Starstruck By Smiley At OVO Fest

Prior to the success of “Munch (Feelin U),” Ice Spice became a viral figure after blogs spotted her next to Drake at OVO Fest. At the time, she had only a few singles out and an On The Radar freestyle that began to gain steam. However, that sole appearance spurred curiosity about the bubbling Drill rapper, especially as some speculated that she and Drake could be a thing.

Now, Ice Spice got the full OVO treatment that day. Drake flew her out to Toronto on Air Drake. Then, he provided her with full access to the festival and they hung out prior to his set. However, she explained that it wasn’t him that left her starstruck but rather, Smiley.

“Shoutout Smiley, but I don’t know why I was so starstruck,” she explained, giggling. “Like, when I seen him I know he thought I was so weird. He was like ‘you good?’ I fuck with him, like I don’t even know what it was, I was just like ‘Oh shit.’

She revealed that she told herself to compose herself after the interaction. “I’m like girl get it together, like what the fuck,” she added.

It’s unclear where she and Smiley currently stand. However, she recently revealed that her and Drake seemingly patched things up. Shortly after the success of “Munch (Feelin U),” fans noticed that Drake unfollowed her on Instagram. Though she admitted that she had no idea why, she told the New York Times that they’ve chopped it up since then.

“We’re cool,” Ice Spice said. “We spoke after that a couple times and we’re good. There’s no beef.”

The confirmation comes a few months after Drake appeared to diss Ice Spice on Her Loss.

“She a ten tryna rap, it’s good on mute, yeah,” he raps on “#BackOutsideBoyz.”
