Mustard Is Not Interested In Making Music With ‘Strange Guy’ Drake After Producing Kendrick Lamar’s ‘Not Like Us’

Most people make it pretty obvious where they stand in the debate of Drake vs. Kendrick Lamar. Mustard, example, produced Lamar’s chart-topping Drake diss “Not Like Us.” He’s keeping that energy up, too, as he says he has no interest in working with Drake in the future.

In a recent Los Angeles Times interview, Mustard said, “I don’t think I want to make a song with that dude. He’s a strange guy.”

He also spoke about Drake’s fans, saying, “These guys don’t go to sleep — all they do is tweet, tweet, tweet, tweet. That’s where ‘the Nation of drizzlam’ came from. I said it in a joking manner, but I guess on Twitter it looked like I was mad [laughs]. Drake should use that phrase. I won’t charge him for it.”

Mustard has praise for Lamar, of course, saying, “He’s just a genius. He does the unthinkable every time. And on a human level — just as a normal person — I like his style. […] His whole mystique gives me the same vibes as Prince. Even now [after the success of ‘Not Like Us’], the guy has not posted anything. I told him, ‘I don’t know how you do that sh*t. Me, I’d be like, ‘Yeah, I’m No. 1!””

Just when you thought the 2024 iHeartRadio Music Festival couldn’t grow any more today (August 23) organizers proved otherwise. Back in June, the multiday event set to be held at Las Vegas’ T-Mobile Arena on September 20 and 21.

So far, musicians slated to perform include Big Sean, Camila Cabello, Doja Cat, Dua Lipa, Gwen Stefani, and Uproxx cover star Paramore. Now, Billboard has exclusively revealed that Asap Rocky, Chris Martin, and The Weeknd were added to the lineup.

The summer has been filled with dozens of tours, festivals, and showcases tailored to specific genres. But the 2024 iHeartRadio Music Festival’s list of confirmed acts run the gamut of sonic influences including rock, rap, pop, and country. Tickets for 2024 iHeartRadio Music Festival are on sale now. Joe Budden Mocks Kanye West For Bizarre Shoutout At Korea Listening Event

Kanye West and Ty Dolla Sign took over Korea’s Goyang Stadium with their Vultures 2 listening experience last night, and as expected, are making headlines for various bizarre moments. For one, Ye dedicated his track “I Wonder” to Drake, which led to some debate. While some fans thought this was meant as a diss, others suspect he was simply using Drizzy’s name for clout. It wasn’t the only confusing part of the evening, however.

At one point in the show, Ye also gave Joe Budden a shoutout during “24,” following it up with “God’s not finished.” Obviously, there’s room for interpretation here, though most believe he was calling Budden out for criticizing him. Either way, it doesn’t look like the podcaster took the apparent jab too seriously, as evidenced by his reaction.

Joe Budden Reacts To Kanye West Name-Dropping Him

Budden took to Instagram Live today to weigh in as the clip makes its rounds online. He began by performing his own rendition of the moment. “Korean n****s was like, ‘the f*ck you talkin’ bout?’” he added with a laugh. As his friends chimed in off-camera, Budden made it clear he was there “with peace and love” before mocking the shoutout once again. Clearly, he’s not looking for any smoke from Ye, though the same can’t be said for Yung Miami.

Earlier this week, the former City Girl took to X to clown him after his 2003 single “Pump It Up” went gold. She reacted to the news with a simple series of laughing emojis, but her message was clear. Travis Scott Says He May Have To Tour “DAYS BEFORE RODEO”

Travis Scott didn’t just officially release DAYS BEFORE RODEO onto streaming, he’s doing the absolute most in the best way possible. La Flame has blessed us and the rest of his fans with a special digital deluxe with five fan-favorite bonus tracks. He’s given physical music lovers the opportunity to have the 2014 mixtape on CD or vinyl. Additionally, the veteran hitmaker dropped some dope apparel and bundles to pair with tangible copies. Now, there is a chance that Travis takes DAYS BEFORE RODEO on a tour in the future.

This was hinted at during a special one-night performance, according to Hypebeast. Scott and Spotify collaborated for the “Spotify x Cactus Jack Present Days Before Rodeo”, and it was held at the Masquerade last night from 9 p.m. to 12 a.m. ET. The venue can only hold 250-1,500 people, so this one-off show was for the true ragers. Spotify Fans First tickets were the first to go and did so completely in 15 minutes. Additionally, there was a general on-sale around 3 p.m. Videos, like the one below, are circulating on social media, and it seems like it was a lit night.

A DAYS BEFORE RODEO Tour Would Feed Families

Scott seemed to think so as well, even claiming that these “[are] the best shows on the planet right here”. In fact, he even went as far as to hint at the possibility of a full fleshed out tour. “I might have to do a whole tour of this right here”, before “Mamacita” had everyone jumping up and down and screaming their lungs out. Fans are in agreement with Scott, saying, “A small venue only days before rodeo tour would feed families man NEED THAT S***TTTTT”. “Keep going. Don’t stop now”, another implores. It might be some time before that gets announced, bet let us and every Scott fan dream right now.

Federal Judge Rules The No-Knock Warrant Did Not Cause Breonna Taylor’s Death, Charges Against Officers Dismissed

A federal judge decided that two Louisville Police officers who were charged with submitting a false affidavit to search Breonna Taylor’s home were not responsible for her death.

U.S. District Judge Charles Simpson said that Taylor’s boyfriend, Kenneth Walker, was responsible for her immediate cause of death by firing at the officers, causing them to respond with lethal force.

Back in 2022, Detective Joshua Jaynes and Sgt. Kyle Meany were charged with submitting a false affidavit to search Taylor’s home before the raid and then creating a fake story to avoid responsibility after Taylor was killed during the raid. They were also charged with felonies for using a dangerous weapon to deprive Breonna of her Fourth Amendment right to defend herself against unreasonable search.

Both officers would’ve have received life sentences of they were found guilty. Both are also stil facing other pending charges, with Meany facing one charge of false statement to federal investigators, while Jaynes has been charged with two counts of falsification of records, conspiracy to falsify records and witness tampering.

Jaynes could get up to 40 years if convicted and Meany could get 5 years behind bars. They both have been fired from the Louisville Police Dept.

DJ Akademiks had some strong words for Yung Miami following her viral clowning of Joe Budden’s “Pump It Up” going Gold two decades after its release. Moreover, the streamer took issue with her laughter, saying that Budden has benefitted more from his career than she ever will from her own. Also, Ak posited that the former City Girl doesn’t even write any of her own lyrics, and that she shouldn’t be making fun of artists like this. In addition, he also said that she isn’t getting support from her label and that people don’t want to write for her anymore.

Elsewhere, this is what DJ Akademiks said of Yung Miami’s alleged involvement in her former boo Diddy’s legal situation. “With all due respect, you are a pretty girl,” he posited on his livestream. “But there’s a lot of pretty girls. Beauty, especially seeing all these girls get lip fillers, they’re wearing fake hair. That ain’t their hair, right? They get some implants, they put their t***ies up to their neck.

“Like, it’s easy to create the idea of beauty that a man would be appealed by,” DJ Akademiks went on. “So what makes you special? Is it because you have some fame? No, Diddy’s messed with way more famous women than you. He had J. Lo, for God’s sakes. What makes you special? I’m going to tell you. If you disagree with me, it’s because you don’t know no n***as in the industry. Because I talk to these n***as. Like, what is it about this girl?

“You know what they say?” DJ Akademiks finalized. “A chick like Yung Miami… She do everything. Put it like this: self-respect is the kryptonite of rich n***as. Women: self-respect is the kryptonite of rich n***as. They don’t want to be around you when you’re saying, ‘Ah, I’m not doing that.’ The women who are in the game, they know this, too. DJ Akademiks Defends Nicki Minaj’s Possible Explanation For Her Ice Spice Beef

Nicki Minaj recently sparked a whole lot of fan speculation with some recent moves that some Barbz interpreted as shade towards Ice Spice. For those unaware, the former unfollowed the latter on Instagram and then told fans to stop asking questions about “other people” amid this drama. As such, many put two and two together, but this equation doesn’t really confirm whether or not there are real issues at play here. Nevertheless, DJ Akademiks recently responded to this during his livestream, defending the Trinidadian MC for her choices and for the way in which she’s conducting business with these artists.

Of course, Ak’s main point of defense for Nicki Minaj’s treatment of Ice Spice was to compare her to her Young Money partner and his fav, Drake. He said that Drizzy rubs a lot of artists the wrong way for taking control of publishing and masters, but the media personality justified this through the notion of the “Drake stimulus package.” He’s already defended this model to death before, so it’s no surprise that he understands why Nicki is moving in the way she’s moving. To be clear, this approach from a massive artist to a relatively smaller one isn’t necessarily an automatic point of condemnation, as any sort of deal in the music industry can turn sour if executed irresponsibly.

DJ Akademiks Speaks On Nicki Minaj’s Label Comments Seemingly Aimed At Ice Spice

Here’s what Nicki Minaj had to say about rappers signing to white labels instead of her Heavy On It imprint, which many saw as an Ice Spice dig. “Motherf***er tell somebody they don’t want to sign with Heavy On It,” she expressed. “But then they’ll go and sign with the white peoples. And guess who the white peoples finna call? Onika Tanya Maraj-Petty. They always get the attention of the Barbz. If your name is not on [the new version of] Pink Friday 2, they’re not a Heavy On It artist.”

Meanwhile, this is what Ice Spice had to say about Nicki Minaj recently. “We don’t have the closest relationship, you know? But we’re definitely good,” she posited. “We’re mutuals. We had smash records together. I love us together. I think the world does too.”
