Drake Demands xQc Shut Off The Weeknd’s Music During Livestream

Drake demanded that xQc turn off The Weeknd’s hit song, “Starboy,” while speaking with the Canadian livestreamer on Sunday night. “We got to switch this song off,” Drake remarked during the broadcast, before breaking into laughter. “We gotta switch this one. Real 6ixers. Where the real Six at? We don’t listen to that.” xQc abided by his request and skipped the track. A clip of the moment is going viral on social media as the feud between Drake and The Weeknd intensifies.

“So Kendrick Future AND the weekend live in this guys head rent free,” one user on X (formerly Twitter) responded to the clip. Another wrote: “He needs to stay quiet lmfao Kendrick dissed the braids out of him don’t make weekend do it too.” Others wanted the two to make peace. “Seeing Drake act petty about The Weeknd in 2024 when they’re both literally Canadian music legends just perfectly sums up why the Toronto music scene can’t have nice things,” one fan said.

Drake Performs With The Weeknd During “Nothing Was The Same” Tour

The Weeknd wasn’t the only artist Drake spoke on while speaking with xQc. He also downplayed Kendrick Lamar’s disses against him while introducing himself to the audience. “I’m Drake, this is xQc, real streaming legend. Me, I do music, in case you don’t know. I’m here, as you can see, fully intact. Mind, body, and soul. In case you’re wondering, right? You need facts to take me out. Fairy tales won’t do it,” he said. He later elaborated: “Nothing makes me uncomfortable, I’ve worked too hard to be uncomfortable. Nothing phases me, like I said, it takes only facts to fold me, fairytales don’t work.”

Drake Disses The Weeknd

At another point, he labeled Steve Lacy his “fragile opp.” In more wholesome news, he announced his first Australian tour in eight years, the Anita Max Wynn tour, which will kick off in February. Check out Drake’s remark about The Weeknd below.

Steve Lacy Gleefully Trolls Drake After Rapper Calls Him A “Fragile Opp”

Drake’s recent appearance on xQc’s stream – during which he seemed to respond to Kendrick Lamar, his new album GNX, and much more beef-related stuff – was a pretty fun one overall. It was just two guys hanging around and talking with fans, so when things turned more combative sometimes, it was hard for some folks to take them super seriously… Including Steve Lacy. The 6ix God called the singer and guitarist a “fragile opp” while giving praise to his hit “Bad Habit.” In response, The Internet’s Lacy took to Instagram to post various responses to the diss, including one meme that read, “who tryna be my… fragile opp.”

You may be asking why in the world Drake would have a problem with Steve Lacy, but there’s a very simple answer: he’s from Compton. He attended Kendrick Lamar’s “Pop Out” concert on Juneteenth this year, appeared in the “Not Like Us” music video, and has had a good working relationship with Kendrick in the public eye since 2017 with their DAMN. collab, “PRIDE.” As for K.Dot, he also seemed to respond to Drizzy’s words on xQC’s stream, and he was also quite amused.

Steve Lacy Laughs At Drake’s Jabs

As for what Steve Lacy and Kendrick Lamar could get up to in the future, the former actually teased a collab for his upcoming album. “I’m moved by what’s weird,” Lacy told Fantastic Man about what are the types of artists that he wants to collaborate with. “It’s almost like I hear them, and I think, I need to call this person. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t want a Kendrick verse. […] I don’t feel tough,” he said of being at “The Pop Out.” “We were at the run-through, and I was, like, ‘How am I here?’ But I was so honored.. I thought I would never be in the conversation. It was cool.”

We will see in due time whether or not Drake, Kendrick Lamar, or Steve Lacy will continue to address this battle or if they will move past it eventually. We hope that’s the case, because so much beef can’t be good for your health.

Fans Believe Drake Called Hip-Hop “Weird” But That’s Not Really What Happened

Drake is currently in the midst of a social media firestorm due to his recent appearance on xQc’s Kick stream. Overall, Drizzy was only on the stream because he is sponsored by Stake, which owns the Kick streaming service. xQc is their top creator ever since the exodus of Adin Ross, so it only makes sense that Drake would be employed to pull up. However, the timing was unique given the fact that Kendrick Lamar released an album with GNX on Friday.

Of course, fans were interested to see if Drake was going to have anything to say about the album or his rap rival as a whole. In the end, there were a lot of shots taken throughout the livestream. He poked fun at Kendrick, The Weeknd, Steve Lacy, and even the West Coast as a whole. However, one comment, in particular, had fans up in arms. At one point, he says “rap music weird now anyway.” This sent many fans into a spiral, with some proclaiming that Drake doesn’t even respect the genre anymore. While this makes for great headlines, it is a misrepresentation of what happened.

Drake With An Interesting Comment

According to numerous community notes on X, it was noted how Drake was actually just reading a comment from the livestream’s chat. When you analyze where he was looking and how he said it, it was pretty clear that he was reading the flurry of comments that were coming in. While Drake has made quite a few missteps in 2024, it is important to remain level-headed when these kinds of things happen. Sure, it is easy to dunk on him, but you have to maintain some objectivity here.

Twitter sure does love to run away with narratives, and this was a prime example of that in action. Only time will tell whether or not the internet apologizes to Drizzy for misinterpreting what went down. If there is anything we know about online culture, it is that an apology will likely never come.

Diddy’s Request For House Arrest Gets A Swift Response

Diddy and his legal team requested that the Bad Boy mogul be released on house arrest until his trial in the case regarding charges of alleged sex trafficking and racketeering on Friday. According to US Weekly, Judge Arun Subramanian “immediately rejected the idea,” remarking in the courtroom: “That is not going to work.” He had wanted to stay at his mansion in Miami, Florida, the site federal agents raided, earlier this year.

His lawyers also offered that he stay at his apartment in Manhattan’s Upper East Side. This would’ve featured 24/7 security with the removal of internet and phone access outside of contacting his attorneys. He would also need approval before family visits. Diddy’s team argued to Subramanian that the house arrest would end up being “substantially more restrictive” than the Brooklyn Metropolitan Detention Center, where he currently resides.

Authorities arrested Diddy back in September, charging him with allegations of racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion, and transportation to engage in prostitution. He quickly pleaded not guilty and has denied all of the claims against him. Diddy will be heading to trial in May 2025.

Outside of that legal case, Diddy recently made headlines for reportedly sending a cease-and-desist letter in response to allegations made during Hulu’s new documentary, The Honorable Shyne. According to Page Six, he’s upset with his former Bad Boy protégé, Shyne, alleging that he took the fall for Diddy in an infamous nightclub shooting back in 1999. A rep. for Diddy told the outlet that the allegation is “unequivocally false.” They also brought up that he was acquitted of all charges related to the incident. Be on the lookout for further updates on Diddy on HotNewHipHop.

Kendrick Lamar Appears To Respond To Drake’s Controversial Appearance On xQc’s Stream

Drake didn’t take long to speak out and make himself visible again after Kendrick Lamar released his new album GNX. It was through an appearance with superstar Kick streamer xQc last night (Sunday, November 24), and it was overall a great time from what their charity gambling stream indicated. But of course, the Toronto rapper couldn’t escape some jokes from fans thanks to various beef references during the stream, such as one comment about “fairy tales.” Apparently, Kendrick himself caught wind of this, as an alleged friend of his posted some screenshots to Instagram that seemingly show his reaction to this.

“He trippin??!” Kendrick Lamar allegedly asked his friend about Drake, following a slew of laughing emojis at how he apparently turned Drizzy into a streamer. For the record, he’s been streaming for years now every once in a while, but that’s besides the point. It seems like K.Dot just had a laugh about it, and for the most part, so did the 6ix God, so it’s odd to see them treat their battle more casually these days. What they do take seriously now are how other people address them and their musical moves, such as this new GNX album and the OVO mogul’s upcoming Australian tour that starts on the same day as the Super Bowl.

Kendrick Lamar Seemingly Reacts To Drake’s xQc Stream

As fans continue to debate that whole situation, Kendrick Lamar and Drake are just gearing up to continue their dominance one way or another. The latter has a collab album on the way with PARTYNEXTDOOR, and the former just walked away from one of the biggest years for any rapper with a whole lot of excellent new material to boast. It’s been an excellent year to be a rap fan, whether you tapped into this showdown or not.

Meanwhile, everyone is still enjoying the GNX hype right now, and it will be curious to see if Kendrick Lamar or Drake have anything else to say about their feud or if they will move onto other things. It seems unlikely that they will just leave this scuffle behind and never address each other again, but we couldn’t have predicted that Future and Metro Boomin seemingly backtracked their positions, so who knows?

Drake Reveals Official Status Of His PartyNextDoor Collab Album

The livestream with fellow Canadian xQc and Drake continues to produce some intriguing headlines. Multiple clips from it have circling the internet. However, this one might be the most exciting one yet. Back in August, The Boy officially revealed that him and his OVO partner, PARTYNEXTDOOR, were going to drop an album. He revealed this during a shocking appearance at PND’s show and announcing the news in the most Drizzy way possible. “Once summer over with… do what you need to do. I know all you girls are outside and when it gets a little chilly… a PARTYNEXTDOOR and Drake album will be right there for you.”

Given that slightly cryptic bombshell, many were speculation a potential fall release. However, we are now at the end of November and still nothing. It became clearer and clearer that the Canadian duo was not that close to being finished as we may have thought. Both artists have been hyping it up, labeling it a future classic and things like that. Additionally, they have been pretty vague in terms of the actual status of the project. But as we said, Drake’s most recent update during the xQc stream is tantalizing. It gives everyone a better idea of when it may arrive, especially with one month left to go.

Drake & PartyNextDoor’s LP Is “75% Done”

“Me and PARTY’s album is 75 percent done. Shout out to PX cooking right now. Album is sounding incredible. Shout to the Six, the whole city, anybody watching from Canada, we love you.” After that, xQc tried to get some more intel, asking his guest about any tracklist details. Drake answered the question, but also didn’t at the same time.

“I always have a problem making shorter albums…” The clip cuts off there, but it seems like the other 25 percent is going to be making final cuts to the tracklist. Given this and the initial reveal, there is definitely still time for Drake and PARTY to get this out. They may have it out by late December, which would fall in alignment with the For All The Dogs MC also making it known that he’s going on tour during Super Bowl week. In fact, the “Anita Max Wynn Australia Tour” will kick off the day of the big game and Kendrick Lamar’s Halftime Show performance.

After a monstrous 2024, Kendrick Lamar put his stamp on the final weeks of the year with the surprise release of a new album, GNX. The project features more bars about Drake after his feud with the Canadian rapper dominated the cultural conversation this summer. Now, following GNX, Drake appears to have spoken out.

While livestreaming with xQc, Drake, seemingly speaking about Lamar, said (as HotNewHipHop notes), “I’m here, as you can see, fully intact. Mind, body, and soul. In case you are wondering, right? You need facts to take me out. Fairy tales won’t do it.”

Lamar also had some words about Lil Wayne on the new album, and Wayne responded on X (formerly Twitter), “Man wtf I do. I just be chillin & dey still kome 4 my head. Let’s not take kindness for weakness. Let this giant sleep. I beg u all. No one really wants destruction. Not even me, but I shall destroy if disturbed.”

It’s not all beef, though, as plenty of folks collaborated on the new album and the list includes SZA, Jack Antonoff, Roddy Ricch, Terrace Martin, Sounwave, Deats, M-Tech, Juju, Deyra Barrera, AzChike, Dody6, Hitta J3, Peysoh, Siete, Wallie The Sensei, Lefty Gunplay, Siete7x, and YoungThreat.

The Kendrick Lamar ‘Mustard’ Meme Is Taking Over The Internet

Kendrick Lamar 2024

On Friday, Kendrick Lamar dropped a surprise (and Taylor Swift-free) new album, GNX. By Saturday, a meme was born. On “TV Off,” featuring Lefty Gunplay, Lamar yells “MUSTARD” — or as it’s transcribed by someone on Genius, “MUSTAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARD.” Is it a reference to his favorite condiment? Possibly, but it’s also a nod to DJ Mustard, a rapper and producer who worked on GNX, as well as Lamar’s No. 1 hit “Not Like Us.”

Lamar’s “Mustard” shout out is all over the internet, including brands like McDonald’s, the Minions, and Shrek. There are Simpsons references, Peanuts-style drawings, and TikTok edits. A pastor yelled “Mustard” during a church service, as seen here, and even Lizzo got involved.

Mustard seems to be enjoying all the attention.

“I’ve been literally trying to get a song with him for years,” the producer told Billboard about Lamar. “Before I even made that beat [for “Not Like Us”], I got to a point where I was like, ‘I’m gonna send five beats a day.’ I maybe sent him five beats a day for maybe three months. I’m still doing it right now just in case he wants to record something. I sent him that beat and then I think that day I would make it a point just to go to the studio to make a couple of beats to send to him.”

He added, “I don’t think I even understood how big it was until it went No. 1. I was like, ‘This is the biggest song I ever had in my life.’ I just wanted a song with Kendrick.”

Kendrick Lamar & AzChike Deliver Infectious Bars And Unrivaled Chemistry On “Peekaboo”

Kendrick Lamar surprised the entire hip-hop world on Friday when he decided to drop off a new album called GNX. Overall, this is being considered the hip-hop album of the year, and it has only been out for a couple of days. If one thing is for certain with this album, it is that Kendrick has united the West Coast. He featured numerous smaller West Coast artists on the project, and it has made for one of Kendrick’s most unique listens to date.

In the past, Kendrick has gone heavy with the concepts for his albums. GKMC was about his life growing up in Compton. Meanwhile, TPAB was all about America and the racism it was founded on. Mr. Morale was one huge therapy session. However, GNX is not burdened by a grandiose concept. Instead, it is Kendrick having a whole lot of fun. A great example of this is the song “Peekaboo” with AzChike. The song contains skeletal yet bouncy production in which Kendrick sounds as menacing as ever. On numerous occasions, he and AzChike trade bars and it makes for an amazing balancing act.

Ultimately, “Peekaboo” serves as an example of the type of creative space Kendrick is in right now. He wants to have fun but he also wants to embrace the boogeyman nickname that has been given to him. GNX is a victory lap and we’re not sure the lap is going to come to an end, anytime soon.
