Kamaiyah Delivers An Easy & Breezy Listening Experience With “Before We Party”

Kamaiyah has a cult following and it’s for good reason. Overall, the Oakland, California native can give you all sorts of vibes at any given moment. She can go from funky West Coast bangers to more vibey and slowed down cuts. The latter is what she was delivering on her latest mini album, Figuring Out My Emotions. Overall, it was about all of the feelings she had dealt with recently. Her being able to switch up her style so effortlessly also leads to an exciting unpredictability factor. It seems that whenever she experiences some sort of mood swing, she becomes inspired to drop something new. That could be what has led Kamaiyah to drop off this new seven-track tape, Before We Party.

To us, this project feels like it’s here to tide fans over for something in the LP format. Part of our reasoning actual comes just from the title itself. However, the tracks are also contributing to that. Given that it’s just over 18 minutes long, Before We Party appears to be here for the vibes and no more than that. But to be honest, that’s not a bad thing, especially when its Kamaiyah the one bringing them. She’s someone you can almost always go to for crisply produced and fun tracks. That’s exactly what this is, and it does it very well. Kamaiyah sadly never got the same love as some of the bigger femcees, but that doesn’t bother us. She’s consistent as they come and it’s why we keep coming back to her projects no matter how big or small.

Beyonce Shows Off Her Curves For Underwear-Clad Levi’s Jeans Campaign

Beyonce is following up a whiskey brand launch with even more brand collaborations to spread COWBOY CARTER across pop culture. This time around, it’s a Levi’s partnership in the form of a commercial that recreates one of the iconic denim company’s most well-known advertisements. Apparently, this is the first of various promo videos they will work together on. In this one, she takes inspiration from a 1985 ad in which a male model takes his jeans off and stone-washes them with rocks at a laundromat. Queen Bey swaps the rocks out for diamonds in this one and bares her underwear as onlookers’ jaws hit the floor.

However, even without all these extracurriculars, a lot of fans expressed disappointment recently over how Beyoncé didn’t get her due flowers for COWBOY CARTER. For example, the People’s Choice Country Awards did not give her any awards despite her 17 nominations, and many felt that the people missed the mark with this one. Regardless of whether you think the album became overrated or not, its success and impact could’ve merited at least one accolade. Alas, that certainly hasn’t slowed the Texas native down.

Back to this Levi’s jeans ad, though, Beyoncé’s “LEVII’S JEANS” with Post Malone soundtracked it to no one’s surprise. “My song ‘LEVII’S JEANS’ celebrates what I believe is the ultimate Americana uniform – something we all wear with pride,” she expressed via a press release. “I am honored to work with Levi’s® to create quintessential American iconography. Denim on denim has often been seen through a male lens, so this reimagining campaign, which celebrates the iconic female perspective, is important to me. I look forward to exploring innovative ways for our visions to align in empowering women and honoring their strength.”

Meanwhile, Levi’s stated that this Beyonce partnership will hopefully. “connect with our fans in new ways and supporting the growth of our women’s business as the definitive denim lifestyle brand.” She still faces some controversy and backlash here and there as a massive star, but there’s no denying that anything with her name on it has a big chance to captivate and resonate.

Saweetie Fires Back At Fan’s Distasteful Colorism Joke

Saweetie clapped back at a fan on X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday after they made a joke about her enjoying the impacts of colorism in society. They had written: “I bet Saweetie wakes up every morning, brushes her teeth, looks in the mirror, and thanks God for colorism.” Saweetie didn’t find any humor in the remark and eventually vented about the situation in response. The user has since made their account private.

“Yikes, tasteless humor,” Saweetie wrote back. “Nothing witty or clever about this whatsoever. Matter of fact, joking about a serious psychological battle is never funny. If you don’t agree with my art that’s fine, but don’t identify me with a behavior that condones discrimination. Because I don’t. thanks.” She also reposted a statement from another fan who wrote: “Joking about serious issues like colorism isn’t funny at all. It’s harmful and perpetuates stereotypes.”

Boosie’s Daughter Responds After His Comments on Her Sexuality: “I’ve Been Quiet for Two Years”

Boosie Badazz is facing public pushback from his daughter, Iviona Hatch, after controversial comments he made about her sexuality. The Baton Rouge rapper recently stated that he doesn’t allow Iviona to bring her girlfriend home, expressing fears about “contaminating” her siblings with her same-sex relationship. In a video posted to her Instagram on Friday (Sept. 27), Iviona, also known as Ivi, finally spoke out against her father’s remarks, saying she’s remained silent on the issue for far too long.

The drama unfolded after Boosie’s appearance at Revolt World on Sept. 22, where he sat down with Yung Miami on her show Caresha Please. During the interview, Boosie discussed how he reacted when his daughter came out, calling the moment “nothing.” However, he made it clear that he restricts her from bringing her girlfriend to the family home, stating, “I don’t want it to contaminate her other siblings.”

Boosie explained further, saying, “I want them to bring me grandchildren the right way. If I want grandchildren the right way, that’s what imma stand on. I don’t want my other little girl to look at that and say, ‘What’s that, daddy?’ to somebody she looks up to. My grandpa didn’t let it, my daddy didn’t let it, and I didn’t let it. I just hope the one under me doesn’t let it either because that’s not what our family believes in.”

Following these remarks, Ivi, who has kept a low profile on the topic, addressed her father’s stance in her Instagram video, sharing that she had been silent for nearly two years despite Boosie repeatedly discussing her sexuality publicly. “He always speaking on my sexuality. The whole world knows that, and it’s been about two years now that I’ve been quiet,” she said. “I did everything in my power to understand that this is my father, regardless. Imma accept him and love him for who he is.”

Tokyo Toni Alleges Diddy Is Being Framed During Controversial & Defensive Rant

A lot of celebrities have expressed their appalled reactions to the Diddy scandal as more accusations and developments in his federal case emerge. But not everyone has the same level of sympathy for his alleged victims, or feels the same abhorrence over his supposed actions. Tokyo Toni, for example recently took to her social media to defend the Bad Boy mogul, suggesting that the famous world is being hypocritical and selectively outrage while also mocking accusers. Not only that, but she even blamed them for what allegedly happened to them.

“Free Puffy, free Puffy,” Tokyo Toni said on Instagram Live concerning Diddy. “We know what’s happening, the real ones. Yeah, free Puffy, get him on out of there, y’all. Why is everyone mad at Puffy? *laughs* Every celebrity in the world, in the United States, points their fingers to a man that they know been did this five, ten, 15 years ago. What a set-up. And they for some reason still can’t snatch it. Good. Any girl that got ‘R-P”d shouldn’t have been there. Oh, well. Shouldn’t have been there. You shouldn’t have been there. ‘Puffy r**ed me!’” she added in a mocking voice. “So nobody saw you leaving? You involuntarily walked [in], they just grabbed you and snatched you and threw you in the back? Same with R. Kelly.”

Earlier this year, R. Kelly (who was convicted on similar charges to the ones that Diddy faces) also came forward to defend him. “I don’t believe none of this s**t,” he shared, calling the whole thing a “federal conspiracy.” “You could tell me about Puffy, you could tell me about anybody.

“You could tell me on the news, the weather, the sky is blue, I’m not gonna believe the s**t,” R. Kelly continued regarding Diddy. “‘Cause I’m in it now, and I know what they did.” He alleged that the courts “hunted” them and other celebrities for their lavish wealth and success. “The s**t is crazy,” Kelly went on. “Motherf***ers out there laughing and making comedian jokes and doing all the other s**t on the radio and everything else, but they a** could be next. That’s what’s so f***ed up about it. They so stupid they don’t even realize the moves that’s going on.”

Lauryn Hill Dragged By Fans For A Tumultuous Show In Kenya

When it comes to a Lauryn Hill performance of any kind, you are going to have to expect the unexpected. While health issues are certainly a more than fair reason to put shows on hold, fans are still going to feel some type of way when cancelations become normal. Hill has always been extremely defensive when it comes to this topic, stating that it’s the media obsession with “sensationalism and clickbait headlines”. Additionally, she’s even told fans directly, “Y’all lucky I make it on this… stage every night”. While it certainly is a treat to be able to hear her play her songs in a live setting, the constant delays aren’t going to be able to leave supporters minds that easy.

Just take last night for example in Nairobi, Kenya. Ms. Lauryn Hill was scheduled to hit the stage at the Walker Town festival at 8 p.m. local time. But according to some tweets gathered by AllHipHop, one upset fan said, “Lauryn Hill was supposed to perform at 8 pm in Nairobi and was >4hrs late, finishing her set at 4.30/5.00 am… on a Monday?! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂”. To be fair, though, her and sound team were forced to deal with horrific technical issues throughout the performance.

Lauryn Hill Has Her Fanbase In Kenya Furious

On top of that, the soundcheck was not fully completed until hours later. However, it wasn’t just the concertgoers that were voicing their frustrations on Twitter. Residents close to the festivities were not too happy about the fireworks show that still went on after Lauryn’s time on stage. “Those fireworks at that hour on a Monday morning weren’t necessarily #WalkerTownNairobi. 10 whole minutes. I’m not even in #Kasa and they’ve got me spooked”, one tired person said. At this time, Hill has yet to respond to the backlash. But overall, it seems like it was just a mess of a night all around, with most of it being out of her control.

Diddy’s Investigation Allegedly Goes International As British Authorities Search For Possible Victims

Diddy may be facing allegations in the United Kingdom soon enough as British authorities are looking into possible crimes he may have committed abroad, according to a new report from The Mirror. With Diddy being a regular visitor to England over the course of his career, United States investigators have reportedly flown over to London and are getting help from local detectives to find any possible victims. The news comes after authorities in America arrested Diddy, earlier this month, charging him with alleged sex trafficking and racketeering.

“Given the huge amount of time he spent in London, there are concerns that the alleged offending was not confined to America’s shores. Prosecutors are imploring anyone in the U.K. who may have information they feel could help the investigation to get in touch,” a source told The Mirror, as caught by AllHipHop.

Following his arrest, Diddy failed to get out on bail and currently resides at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn. He’s already pleaded not guilty to the charges and maintains his innocence. His attorney, Marc Agnifilo, further told TMZ that the Bad Boy mogul is “actually remarkably positive,” considering the situation. “I spend several hours with him every day,” he added. “His resolve is strong. He’s engaged.” That update came after the outlet reported that Diddy was on suicide watch at the jail. Agnifilo also clarified that the move is a routine measure for new, high-profile inmates.

As for his eventual trial, Agnifilo has confirmed that he will not be taking a plea deal in the case and plans to argue his innocence in court. “I don’t see it happening… because he believes he’s innocent,” the attorney said. “He believes he’s innocent and what’s more, he believes that he needs to stand up not just for himself, for his family and for everybody who has been targeted by the federal government.” Be on the lookout for further updates on Diddy on HotNewHipHop.
