Kai Cenat And Druski Accused Of Colorism For Comments About Fellow Stream Guest

Kai Cenat and Druski are facing allegations of colorism after Druski said that a woman also appearing on Cenat’s stream had “manly” features. While a number of online commenters were confused how the remarks were colorist when they didn’t mention her skin, the answer is quite simple. Druski’s comments fed into the longstanding sentiment that Black women are less visually feminine than their non-Black counterparts. Another term used to describe this attitude towards Black women is misogynoir. However, the backlash has been met with just as vocal support.

Neither Cenat nor Druski have addressed the controversy. Meanwhile, many people have leapt to the pair’s defense. “They literally said nothing about her skin tone. Y’all had adopted this “IG baddie” aesthetic that is also very similar to the T girls, & not all men like it. & I’m not debating with anybody. 😘,” one person argued. Several other commenters would proceed to make incredibly transphobic comments to defend that Druski was simply expressing his “preference”. These comments included stating Druski was “making she was not a trans” and other vile comments about the trans community. Where do you stand on the issue? Let us know in the comments.

Ice Spice Congratulates Kai Cenat On Streaming Award, Fans Eye Their Flirty Vibes

Meanwhile, is there something between Kai Cenat and Ice Spice? Others noted that Cenat responded to Spice within a minute of her posting her message to him.

Spice has previously appeared on Cenat’s stream and went as far as to send him a Christmas present last year. However, Cenat’s affections are rather fickle. At separate points in 2023, he was shooting his shot with both GloRilla and SZA. It remains to be seen if the messages are just flirty banter between friends or subtle signs of a new power couple. What do you think is going on here? Let us know in the comments. We’ll keep an eye on this story and provide any updates if they emerge.

Vic Mensa Speaks On PinkyDoll “Light Skin Fishing” Allegations

TikTok star PinkyDoll has found herself in hot water this week following an appearance at the Streamy Awards. Many viewers noted that PinkyDoll is much darker skinned in real life compared to her online content. This led many people to accuse the Canadian content creator of artificially lightening her skin to boost her appeal and engagement.

Furthermore, PinkyDoll didn’t help her case when she responded to the allegations. “When I go to the sun, I can get a little darker. It’s life, what can I do? And I love to be a Black woman, fuck you mean?” she told TMZ. “I think they’re just hating. It’s hate.” This response did not sit well with a lot of people, who saw it as PinkyDoll dodging the issue. Furthermore, she received additional backlash for also essentially admitting to lightening her skin. As part of her interview with TMZ, she said she used lighting tricks to “look more Japanese.” However, now other figures who have had to battle colorism in their careers are stepping forward to speak out.

Vic Mensa Advocates For Natural Beauty

Musician Vic Mensa, who is biracial and has previously addressed the issue of colorism in his own work, discussed the PinkyDoll situation with TMZ. “I think it’s a deeper issue than a person. The aspiration to a European beauty standard influences people to think that they have to be of a lighter complexion to be viewed as beautiful, to view themselves as beautiful,” Mensa told the outlet. “At the end of the day- we as Black people and people of color across the planet – we have to learn to love ourselves and our natural beauty and lean away from those things. I won’t chastise anybody doing it because it doesn’t start or end with this person that you mentioned.”

Furthermore, Mensa delved into the origins of colorism. He argued that the concept had been “programmed” into the Black community through centuries of oppression. He concluded his comments with a statement of support and self-love. “I think [Pinkydoll] is beautiful just the way she is. To anybody that might see this or see that, recognize your beauty the way that you are.”

Ice Spice Responds To Claims Her Success Is Due To Colorism

Ice Spice reflected on her rise to fame in a new interview with Teen Vogue, published earlier this week. In speaking with the outlet, she responded to the idea that her success is due, in part, to colorism in society.

“I have seen those opinions,” she said, before adding, “I feel like that’s not something personal to me. I feel like that’s been the conversation for generations and forever, since the beginning of time.” She continued: “I try not to feed into negativity because I also see that when people are trying to make that point, it’s not out of a good place. [They end up putting] somebody else down.”

Ice Spice previously appeared to address the colorism complaints by bringing out Flo Milli at Hot 97’s Summer Jam, earlier this month. Milli’s career was often brought up on social media in comparison to Ice Spice during conversations about colorism.

Ice Spice blew up back in August 2022, following the release of her breakthrough single, “Munch (Feelin’ U).” In the months since, she’s collaborated with Taylor Swift and Nicki Minaj, while releasing several more hits. Elsewhere in her interview with Teen Vogue, she explained that remaining humble throughout the process makes her most proud.

“I’m most proud of staying grounded so far because I’ve already been through so many things that I know a lot of people would’ve lost their f*cking minds,” she explained. “The whole lifestyle change is super drastic, especially coming from where I come from, not coming from sht and not having a lot growing up, to now — it’s the complete opposite…. Even though it’s a positive change, it’s still a change.”

The Fast & Furious star shared a snippet of the remix featuring 2 Chainz and Jeezy, but in the caption, he mentioned Charlamagne Tha God. Tyrese reportedly wrote, “I sent my remix to Charlamagne, and he texted back that nobody cares.” Then, Tyrese said, “I see the ex-darkie still losing sleep over me ’cause I’m still my original complexion.” The radio host previously shared that his skin cleared up after he became more healthy and quit drinking.

On the air, Charlamagne accused Tyrese of only reaching out when he wants something. “We know that in this business,” he said. “It’s always me, me, me, me, me. And he sent me that song, like, two or three times. Yo, we don’t care!” The tense history between these two runs deep, boiling over in real-time. “It gets nasty,” said DJ Envy. Charlamagne added when he told Tyrese he didn’t care about the song, the singer replied, “Light-skinned behavior.”

Meanwhile, the singer-actor was made aware of the mention and took to Instagram to unleash on Charlamagne. Tyrese penned a scathing, lengthy caption next to a photo of Tha God. He said he put a filter on the image to make it darker, “as he used to be.” The hitmaker added, “I heard he was talking sh*t about me on the radio this morning? Damn, I don’t know what I did to you bro I thought we was cool???? Damn I heard you’ve be acting light-skinned lately it’s cool.”

Additionally, Tyrese is looking to settle the score in New York, face to face. “We gonna talk about it,” he said. “That’s not a threat. That’s an elbow. Chris Brown Shares Edited Clip Of Joe Biden Defending Him

Chris Brown has shared an edited video of Joe Biden that shows the President of the United States defending him. In the clip, Biden takes Brown’s side regarding the recent accusation that he didn’t allow Black women into his VIP section at a club he was hosting. Biden demands fans “stop hating on Chris Brown” in the post.

As for the accusations, a woman on TikTok claimed: “We were supposed to go see Chris Brown. We got there and there were thousands of girls lined up there. Like, thousands of girls. And they’re not getting in. We were supposed to be on the VIP guest list.” Another woman added: “They told us ‘No Black girls allowed.’ You’re handpicking these White women.” After the clip went viral, they clarified that it was not Chris Brown who refused to let them in, but the venue. “That video had absolutely nothing to do with Chris Brown,” she explained. “The only reason why his name was mentioned was because we were going to a club where he was hosting at.”

The colorism accusations aren’t the only controversy Brown has dealt with in recent days. He also went back and forth with Kiely Williams of the Cheetah Girls. Williams brought up his history of abuse allegations in response to the announcement that he’s working with Chlöe Bailey on a song that’s releasing later this week. “Let him come out with his own record—so genius, so captivating that it makes us all forget HE BEATS WOMEN. He can’t so he wont. So what does he do?” she wrote. “He slowly creeps back into the mainstream by getting small nods for features on Black Women’s merit. Black women who are more talented, more worthy, but give him the okay.”

Brown fired back in a lengthy statement on social media: “If y’all still hate me for a mistake I made as a 17-year-old, please kiss my whole entire ass. I’m fucking 33. I’m so tired of y’all running wit this narrative. You weird ass n****s are the same ones that tune in every week to see Blueface and Chrisean beat the fuck out each other in front the world. But that’s ok? It’s entertainment? All y’all can suck my d*ck, disrespectfully.”

Chris Brown Allegedly Has “No Black Girls” Rule In VIP Sections

Multiple women accused Chris Brown of having a “No Black Girls” rule in his VIP Section. Moreover, this revelation stems from a group of Black women in London who allegedly went to see Brown at a club. However, when they arrived, his security turned them away. “We were supposed to go see Chris Brown,” one of the alleged rejects said in a video. They continued, “We got there and there were thousands of girls lined up. Also, they claimed to be on the VIP guest list. One of her friends chimed in and said, “They told us ‘No Black girls allowed.’” Another told the camera, “You’re handpicking these white women.”

However, even Chris Brown himself became one of many to defend or fight back at these claims on social media. Furthermore, he posted a clip to his Instagram Story showing him in the club with other Black women in attendance. “STOP IT !” he captioned his Story post. “I have black queens all around me. THOP REACHING,” imitating current beef target Kiely Williams. Moreover, they started a social media spat recently after Williams called out his violence towards Rihanna and other women.

Still, fan reactions split on social media between the disappointed, the unsurprised, and the defensive. “These black women were denied entry into a club for Chris Brown’s VIP section at his UK show…” one tweeter began. “And they’ve come to TikTok to cry? I don’t feel sorry for any of them.” Another disagreed. “Chris Brown over in London discriminating against black women in VIP again but yall goofy broads on here still advocate for him when he wouldn’t spit on you if you were on fire.”

Regardless on where you stand on this topic, these allegations followed Chris Brown for a long time before this recent example. Also, this controversy came after a slew of Instagram rants and debated statements from the singer. Even though his public image seems more volatile than ever, his name elicits a lot of defense online. As such, it’s hard to break through the noise and understand what truly went down. Still, log back into HNHH for the latest news and updates on Chris Brown.
