Cardi B Claps Back At Critics Of Her Parenting After Nightclub Run-In With Offset

Cardi B has responded to users on social media who don’t think she’s been spending enough time with her newborn daughter after she went out with her friends in New York City over the weekend. During a stop at The Stafford Room on Saturday night, she was momentarily at the same location as her ex, Offset, although TMZ reports they came and left separately.

“I be with my baby all day…I need to go out,” Cardi B said on Instagram Live. “I’m going through a divorce right now. If I stay home and f*cking depress myself, that sh*t’s gonna drive me crazy. That’s why I’m working, and the weekends, I’m going out with my girls. So, stop. I don’t ever wanna go through a f*cking postpartum depression ever again, and I’m avoiding that.”

Cardi filed for divorce from Offset, earlier this year, for the second time since their marriage in 2017. She recently confirmed that this time is definitive, however. “Slowly but surely, everybody gotta go their separate ways,” she said during a recent conversation on X Spaces caught by Billboard. “My kids gotta get used to that, ‘No, you’re not going to come home every single day and your dad is gonna be here.’ Slowly, but surely. It’s kinda hard — I don’t wanna talk about it ’cause I don’t wanna get emotional — but it’s kinda hard, as an adult, you gonna get used to a certain type of lifestyle without being with somebody. But it’s also kinda hard for your kids to get used to that, ‘Your dad is not going to be here with you every day after school. Your dad is not going to be picking you up after school.’”

Ice Spice is definitely one of the most divisive rappers today, whether it’s for her music or for her criticized career moves. But Fivio Foreign thinks that there’s a particularly enlightening gender dynamic at play when it comes to her female haters. “B***hes hate Spice cuz n***as love spice,” he tweeted on Wednesday night (September 5). Sadly for the Bronx femcee, we’re currently seeing a pretty intense and combative example of this. Cleotrapa claimed that she’s mistreated her a lot while on tour, and her allegations elicited some fan concern over this alleged behavior and around some other past controversies.

However, not everyone is on board the Ice Spice hate train… At least, for this reason. “She don’t have no say over nothing,” Joe Budden recently theorized on his podcast. “She has not sold enough records to be in this position and on tour, every single dollar is accounted for months before we went on tour. I know exactly how much each of these rooms are gonna cost. I know exactly how much the gas is gonna cost. We can’t afford another bus but we got another bus. Okay let’s bring some other people, but those people are for free. There’s no budget. Every single dollar is accounted for.”

Still, other negative perceptions of Ice Spice are more light and understandable, such as Latto’s slight beef with her. ” “I don’t got a problem with nobody ’cause beef is a different thing, you feel me?” she told 2 Chainz and his son Halo on their podcast, speaking on their mostly competitive and non-serious rap rivalry. “That’s a whole different type of conversation. I ain’t got no beef with nobody, I don’t got a problem with nobody for real. *laughs* I ain’t got no problem with nobody for real, for real, it ain’t like that.”

Meanwhile, apart from Ice Spice, Fivio Foreign also made a questionable reference to Rick Ross recently, which had fans thinking that it could’ve been a diss. But it turns out that this speculation didn’t go anywhere. Regardless, Fivio’s assessment isn’t the most misleading thing in the world when it comes to the “Princess Diana” hitmaker. While it’s definitely one explanation for a lot of backlash around her, it’s also not the definitive answer.

Cardi B recognizes that she can be volatile at times. Fans have witnessed it on numerous occasions throughout her career, and it is something she is not proud of. In fact, she recently apologized to her supporters and thanked them for sticking around regardless after her spat with Joe Budden. “Sometimes I get a little aggressive because y’all know I don’t like to be told what to do. Thank you for the love and anticipation and always holding me down I love y’all”. However, her unpredictable behavior is already making another appearance. According to AllHipHop, The Bronx MC is seemingly fed up with female fanbase in particular. Additionally, you can throw her support of feminism in the trash.

These strong feelings come after Cardi B got into with a female TikTok star, Paradise Paris. The GRAMMY winner and content creator were originally talking about the well-known delay of the rapper’s sophomore album. However, it somehow turned personal. Paris posted a screenshot of IG DMs she sent to Cardi’s hubby Offset right around the time they unfollowed each other amid their split late last year. Paris was making herself available, saying things like, “I got some thangs I wanna do to you”, and “It look like six flags I wanna go WEEEEEEEE”. Fans, especially her female ones, have constantly questioned Cardi and Offset together, but it seems this heated interaction is sending her.

Cardi addressed all of this female hate on an IG Live and stood by entering her “villain era”. She began, “I’m not a feminist no more. You want to know why? Because you could get on social media and your hardest critics is women. Women are always out here looking for ways to talk s*** about other women”, she affirmed. “It’s like it’s like women worst enemies are women, and y’all like to be talking about that it’s men. No, it be y’all b****es”. Going forward, Cardi claims to be dropping the “nice” act and if anyone tries to drag her or her relationship with Offset then “[you better] hope ya page is private”.

It seems like Tory Lanez’s new “Lost Tapes” singles inspired a refreshed conversation around his music as a whole, and not everyone’s a fan. Moreover, a tweet recently went viral for claiming that his music was never good, prompting millions of clicks and a whole lot of contentious and fiery debate in the replies. Many of the Canadian artist’s biggest fans linked their favorite material to counter this argument, whereas others completely agreed and led die-hards into an even more defensive position. Of course, a lot of people also brought up the Megan Thee Stallion situation as either a point to separate from this conversation or as something that goes beyond it.

Furthermore, we know that Tory Lanez’s conviction for shooting the Houston femcee continues to cause debates online and in person. Megan Thee Stallion was recently exiting a venue when a group of men exclaimed “Free Tory” in her direction, which she reacted hilariously and disrespectfully to. But plenty of folks arguing over the quality of the music don’t take into account that controversy when making their assessments. On the flip-side, a select few would rather use that ammunition to make artistic arguments for or against, which is always a losing battle.

Speaking of that shooting case, at least Tory Lanez got a relatively heartening update when it comes to his legal process. The California court of appeals posited that they will consider his requests for “relevant evidence”; in other words, evidence that would help him in his appeal process. In addition, the court’s decision was a direct answer to the prosecution opposing the motion. As such, we don’t know whether authorities will actually side with Lanez here, but there’s at least a chance that they will improve his chances at a way out.

Meanwhile, this comes amid more disheartening updates when it comes to Tory Lanez’s current situation. His wife filed for divorce during his prison sentence after less than a year of marriage. A lot of ink already tried to speculate on what happened here and why this seemed like such a quick decision during Lanez’s legal process. But it seems like we can’t know for sure yet, at least until somebody sheds more light on the debacle.

Last week, for example, she put Joe Budden on blast for criticizing her work. She accused him of crossing the line, making it clear that she doesn’t plan to stop doing what she does anytime soon. He later apologized, and she appeared willing to put the past behind them.

Now, however, she’s taken to X to call out someone who frequently disses her online. The user in question had shared a screenshot of her flirty DMs to Offset, who Cardi has two children with. The rappers’ relationship was on the rocks a few months back, but they now seem to have reconciled.

Cardi B was quick to fire back, seeming shocked that the critic went after her and her music simply because they were interested in Offset. “Sooo the whole time this what it was about ? She went on to repost various supporters’ responses to the debacle, mocking the user for the unanswered messages.

Shutting down haters hasn’t been the only thing keeping Cardi busy these days, however. After her aforementioned Joe Budden rant, she told fans that her eagerly anticipated album would arrive sometime this year. “I have my good days and my bad days but you know what, whether it’s good or bad I couldn’t be happier with the obvious anticipation for my album,” she explained. “Sometimes I get a little aggressive because yall know I don’t like to be told what to do. Furthermore, this is especially notable thanks to a “caught in 4K moment” that happened to recent NBA champion and Finals MVP, Jaylen Brown. Moreover, she recently performed at Rolling Loud Europe in Vienna over the weekend, and was probably surprised when people started booing her and showing her thumbs down signs when she played her Taylor Swift collab, “Karma.” The Bronx femcee chose to simply blow a kiss in the displeased crowd’s direction as a reaction to all this, simply letting them know that she isn’t here for the hate. It’s a pretty innocuous and awkward moment overall, but one that she handled as quickly as she could have.

However, this isn’t the only reason why Ice Spice’s recent live shows have been the subject of some interesting, albeit ridiculously salacious, discussions online. For example, fans recently debated whether she’s tired of constantly twerking as part of her image based on her facial expressions while throwing it back during a recent set. We don’t know how a facial expression necessarily converts to annoyance, especially when it’s part of a planned performance and it’s been such a common part of the routine so far. Ritualistic fatigue is a very real thing, but to equate it to a dance seems a bit overboard.

MC Lyte Thinks Sexyy Red Gets Too Much Hate For Her Lewd Music

Sexyy Red’s superstardom rose alongside a lot of criticism over her raunchy content and presentation, which has sadly never been an uncommon reaction to femcees. One of the most legendary female rappers of all time, MC Lyte, recently reflected on this history during an interview with The Neighborhood Talk at BET‘s Media House ahead of their awards show this Sunday (June 30). However, it’s important to note that her comments on the St. Louis MC don’t really seek to answer the question of whether or not this should be an approach that women in hip-hop continue to engage with. Rather, it calls out double standards and a lack of historical context and knowledge that leads to unjust vilification.

“Nothing that we see is really new,” MC Lyte’s remarks on Sexyy Red began. “And so, you know, we’ve all lived through the advent of ‘My Neck, My Back.’ Trina, Kim, Foxy… You know, so we lived that. So nothing surprises us, I don’t think. As an artist, as a creator, everyone’s always pushing the limits and the boundaries. But also, she didn’t pop out of a planet. She came from a neighborhood where this is how they speak to one another, this is how they communicate. And so this is definitely art imitating life. I think it’s important for people to know that it appears to me that she’s being herself. Whenever you’re being yourself, how can anybody argue with that?”

When Biden called LL “boy,” it sparked a debate around the connotations of the word. She recently released a new collaboration with JID titled “LIGHTS OUT” for the Bad Boys: Ride Or Die soundtrack, one of her biggest but also most skillful releases yet. The 32-year-old’s been impressing with projects and creative genre fusions for a while now, and with a hot 2023 behind her, it looks like this year will be even better. Hopefully she’s able to keep this balance and have a great time while doing so.

Also, thanks to some teases back in August of last year, some fans think that BIA and Nicki Minaj could have another banger on the way. This was from a while ago, but who are we to assume anything about rollouts and release schedules?
