French Montana And EST Gee Move Fearlessly Through City Streets In Their Video For ‘Keep It Real’

It took French Montana all of seven months to give the world a brand new project. That was the case with Montega, his fifth album which doubled as a joint project with producer Harry Fraud. Montega arrived with 14 songs and guest appearances from Babyface Ray, Benny the Butcher, Chinx, EST Gee, Fleurie, Jadakiss, Quavo, and Rick Ross. In French’s continued effort to promote his latest body of work, he returns with a visual for “Keep It Real” alongside EST Gee.

French and EST find themselves in city streets in their video for “Keep It Real.” Dark and bright skies sit behind the two rappers as they stand proudly with their crew on street corners and on top of buildings all in a successful attempt to show off their fearless demeanor.

The new video for “Keep It Real” joins others that French has released for songs from Montega. They include “Blue Chills,” “Bricks & Bags,” and “Rushmore Pack.” Recently, French Montana collaborated with DreamDoll for her “Ice Cream Dream” collaboration while also having a hand in Drake winning and losing over $25 million through a game of roulette that they played together.

3x Grammy-nominated, multi-platinum recording artist, humanitarian and entrepreneur French Montana releases the “Keep it Real” music video featuring rapper EST Gee. The hit track is off Montana’s latest and first independent album, Montega, via Coke Boys Records executive produced by legendary hip-hop producer Harry Fraud. 

The “Keep It Real” video, directed by Rook the Director, follows Montana and EST Gee through the streets of the Bronx. Showcasing his influence and impact in the community, the crowd gathers at a local bodega and basketball court to be with the fellow rappers. Driving in a foreign car and his crew following in Suburbans, Montana continues to rap, “slidin’ through your hood with my Haan,” making his presence known with his signature adlib. EST Gee then jumps on the hook and raps on staying true to his hometown roots and being unstoppable at the height of his career. 

Montana’s fifth studio album, Montega, produced by Harry Fraud released on June 24th bringing back his roots and original wave sound featuring hit tracks with Rick Ross, Quavo, Chinx, Benny the Butcher and more. Alongside the project, Montana released 1000 French Family NFT Membership (Ticker name :FM) with an exclusive launch party in New York City on June 19th. This NFT collection is the first-of-its-kind to launch with a music project giving fans worldwide access to own and share rights to a new project creating a Web3 milestone. This video follows the release of Montana and his brother/new recording artist Ayoub’s first collaborative single and video “Slidin” on Friday.

French Montana Claims Record Labels Are Now Taking Out Life Insurance Policies On Their Artists

Following a series of rapper deaths in recent years, record labels have supposedly begun taking out life insurance policies on their artists. This is what rapper French Montana claimed during a recent episode of DJ Akademiks‘ Off The Record podcast.

Montana delved into beef in the rap game, and how things are handled now, compared to the past.

“We was beefing for real,” Montana said. “People was dying and this and that, and it was blocking a lot of money. People didn’t want to touch you. Your rap friends stop picking up, the labels stop picking up. It gets crazy. But now it’s even crazier, they gettin’ life insurance on artists. At least back then, we didn’t have that. You’re praying on his death. You’re praying on making millions on his death.”

Last month, Montana released an album called Montega, which was produced entirely by Harry Fraud. In an interview with Okayplayer, Montana said the purpose of his previous album, They Got Amnesia was to remind people of his musical ability. On Montega, he seeks to cement his and Fraud’s legacy.

“…I scratched off my bucket list everything that I wanted to accomplish,” Montana said. “From going platinum on albums to going diamond. Now it’s back to how I want to finish my legacy with Harry Fraud how we started. How we made music, from the point of view of when we had our backs to the wall. When we would fight with music to get out of the rabbit hole, that’s what we got with this. Now we’re making music to bring everybody back but take them where we’re going at the same time.”

Drake Won — And Lost — Over $25M Playing Roulette With French Montana

Drake’s penchant for gambling is no secret, but his latest exploits are bound to become the stuff of legend. Playing virtual roulette with online casino Stake on Twitch, Drake won — and then lost — over $25 million, according to HipHopDX. That total included two big hits for $12.96 million and $11.95 million, growing his balance from $8.5 million to $27.2 million before he ended the event with just $1,879 left. He was joined by French Montana, who he introduced with French’s signature ad-lib:

“You know what that deserves? A haaahn!” he joked while celebrating his $12 million hit. “And I got my special guest in the building, take a seat. Ladies and gentlemen, I’m here with my brother, my twin, my lookalike Montega.” Unfortunately, having the Bronx hitmaker at his side didn’t improve his luck much.

Drake didn’t empty his account entirely on bad bets, though. He also gave away much of his fortune to viewers, gifting $25,000 each to viewers who tuned in from all over the world. All told, he shared $1 million.

Drake had better luck with the slew of other big bets he’s put up over the past year, including putting $1 million on MMA fighter Israel Adesanya earlier this month, over $1 million on the Rams in this year’s Super Bowl, and $200,000 on the Warriors in the NBA Finals. But remember, as one of hip-hop’s cash kings, he’s definitely got the money for it and it’s not for everybody — something Jack Harlow found out at the Kentucky Derby.

French Montana and Harry Fraud Unite for the New Album ‘Montega’

The tandem of French Montana and Harry Fraud have officially released their joint album Montega. For French, the release is his first independent release and fifth studio album. Fraud handles all of the production.

Fraud and Montana have reconnected to work together and discuss Montana’s history and distinctive brand of wave music. In order to create its own distinctive sound, Montega incorporates samples from many musical eras, such as those from the 1970s song “Since I First Laid Eyes on You” by Lou Courtney and the song “Femme Fatale” by Skylar Gudasz.

The album features Quavo, Benny the Butcher, Jadakiss, Chinx in a posthumous appearance, Rick Ross, Babyface Ray, and EST Gee. You can hear the album in full below.
