DJ Akademiks Blasts Charlamagne, Gillie Da Kid, And Wallo

If there’s one thing DJ Akademiks is always going to do, it’s speak his mind with confidence, regardless of how the world perceives it. Back in the spring, he took a lot of heat for publicly slandering Yung Miami, but as we move into summer, the media personality has some new targets who are feeling his wrath. During a recent live stream, Ak specifically called out Charlamagne, Gillie Da Kid, and Wallo for failing to reciprocate a guest appearance on his Off The Record podcast.

“This liquor gon’ get me talking some s**t I’ve never talked,” the embattled blogger told viewers after admitting he broke open a bottle of Casamigos shortly after 7 AM. “Wack 100 connected me with Gillie and Wallo,” he began, sharing that the duo expressed interest in recording an episode with him. Akademiks agreed and made an appearance on their show. However, seven months later, he’s still struggling to get them on his. Afterward, he moved on to slander Charlamagne’s similar behaviour before praising Joe Budden as someone he has a relationship full of mutual respect with.

DJ Akademiks Gets Some Things Off His Chest

According to the podcaster, the circle of those he trusts within the industry is small. Apart from Budden, others he considers as solid collaborators include DJ Vlad and Adam22. Elsewhere in the stream, Akademiks addressed Drake’s failure to reply to his request for free It’s All A Blur concert tickets, revealing that he spent an astounding $30K on tickets to see the Canadian lyricist later this summer.

While DJ Akademiks stays busy seemingly trying to ignite some drama with Charlamagne, The Breakfast Club host is pusy concerning himself with another ongoing feud. He recently shared his thoughts on the beef unfolding between Pusha T and Jim Jones, which became even more intense with the arrival of the latter’s diss track this past weekend. Young Thug & Lil Durk Computer Meme: Rappers Have Vowed Not To “Snitch” On Story Behind Photo

Lil Durk is a hot topic in the world of hip-hop this weekend. Not only did the Chicago native share his highly anticipated Almost Healed album today (May 26), but he’s also been doing some press to promote the 21-track effort. Earlier in the week he spoke with DJ Akademiks on the media personality’s Off the Record podcast, during which he discussed the late King Von, the YSL RICO trial, and his latest work, among other things. While Durkio made it abundantly clear that he believes Gunna snitched on his co-defendants, he simultaneously showed plenty of love to Young Thug.

“If you a rat, I f*cking hate you. Because I love Thug,” the father of six told Ak amid his rant about Gunna. Elsewhere, the host brought up the famous photo from 2018 in which Durk watches on in amazement while the So Much Fun hitmaker seriously works on the computer in front of them during a studio session. “What the f*ck was y’all looking at?” Akademiks asked his guest.

Smurk responded, “He told me not to tell nobody.” To this, the embattled blogger cracked a joke, “That’s the same thing he said. Y’all must have been watching some porn.” Rather than deny the rumours, the 7220 artist pointed out that it’s clear that he and Thugger have a seriously strong bond. “That’s how you know we won’t snitch on each other,” Durk declared.

As HipHopDX notes, the multi-talent publicly spoke about the photo in 2020, tweeting that the YSL leader “showed him $20 million.” The pair has made plenty of magic in the studio together before with Young Thug helping out with two tracks on his pal’s 2016 I’m Up project.

[WATCH] PNB Rock Talked About Almost Getting Robbed In L.A. The Week Before Fatal Shooting

Screen Shot 2022 09 15 at 7.43.44 AM

In what is viewed as a haunting interview with DJ Akademiks on his Off The Record podcast, late Philly rapper PNB Rock talked with the culture critic about his close call in Los Angeles with a group of gang members while visiting the City of Angels with his family. The 30 year old “Selfish” singer talks about not being caught slipping by would be assailants not even a month before he would be shot dead in Roscoe’s Chicken And Waffles in South Central; just one day before the 28th anniversary of the death of late cultural icon Tupac Shakur.

“Somebody tried me on [ the Fairfax Avenue in Los Angeles], like mid-pandemic,” the late rapper/singer said. “N*ggas was talking loud as shit wanting me to hear their conversation and it’s like, ‘I’m with my peoples — my daughter and my girl. Why are they talking about this gangsta shit? What the fuck is going on?’So I’m like, ‘Man, we outta here.’ My girl like, ‘Nah, we ain’t — what’s wrong?’ I’m just going off of the vibes. She ain’t peep it, she be thinking I’m tripping. She peeped that I’m serious so she’s like, ‘Alright, we out.’”

PNB continued, saying, “I ain’t go in the store for two seconds, the same people come from out the car, hop in the store hype as shit, say some gang banging shit…I recognized the energy. He started talking to me on some gangsta shit. I’m like, ‘Bruh, do you know me from somewhere?’ He like, ‘N*gga, yeah I know who you is!’ Trying to get me to, like, get into some shit. So I flagged him off and just walked out the store ’cause I already know where this shit ’bout to go … You don’t want to be nervous and make it seem like something ’bout to happen.”

In an eerily similar situation, PNB Rock was gunned down and robbed, passing away from his injuries hours after being shot.
