Freddie Gibbs Provides A Laid-Back Verse For Kenny Mason’s Woozy ‘Much Money’

Kenny Mason has grown to be one of the most talented and versatile artists in the new class of hip-hop, in large part due to his debut album, Angelic Hoodrat. The 14-track effort is an excellent showcase of the Atlanta native’s talent, which expands beyond the expected confines of the rap genre. Mason incorporates rock sounds into the album and does so once again on an extension of the project, Angelic Hoodrat: Supercut. It’s here that listeners can find an eye-catching collaboration between Mason and Freddie Gibbs.

Entitled “Much Money,” the track is a woozy effort that sees both rappers discussing the effects money and greed can have on an individual’s focus and ability to stay on task. Mason highlights the lack of loyalty some have to their squad saying, “Bet these n****s won’t die for the squad,” while Freddie Gibbs uses his verse to separate himself from the competition that he deems inadequate. In addition to the Freddie Gibbs contribution, Angelic Hoodrat: Supercut also sees guest appearances from Denzel Curry, Angel White, and Ambar Lucid.

On Freddie Gibbs’ side of things, the new track arrives after he dropped his “Big Boss Rabbit” single, which will most likely appear on his upcoming SSS album.

Freddie Gibbs Is Astounded To Learn That Diddy Has Restaurant In His House

Freddie Gibbs has been around the block in the music industry before blowing up on a greater level last year but that doesn’t mean he’s gotten used to the trappings of fame. While hanging out with Diddy at his home, Gibbs was amused at some of the house’s amenities. Posting a video to Twitter, Gibbs expressed his amazement that, among other things, the man formerly known as Puff Daddy has a full-fledged restaurant in his house.

While recording a selfie video, Gibbs gains Diddy’s attention, calling him a “fly-ass young n****” and prompting Diddy to show off a bottle of his Ciroc vodka and begin singing along to the Marvin Gaye song playing over the P.A. (It’s “I Want You,” by the way).

Freddie, who’s become one of hip-hop’s most celebrated artists over the past year thanks to his joint album with Alchemist, Alfredo, and its Grammy nomination for Best Rap Album, may be experiencing a new level of success, but clearly, he’s still humble enough to crack jokes at his own expense and use fake Instagrams to mock his rivals. His humility is one of the things that makes him so easy to root for — and his amazement at Diddy’s extravagance might just be the most relatable things he’s shared yet.

Freddie Gibbs Proves He’s The ‘Big Boss Rabbit’ Through His Assertive New Video

Last month, Freddie Gibbs went into the 2021 Grammys Awards as many fans’ favorite to win the Best Rap Album category thanks to his Alfredo album with The Alchemist. Unfortunately for both, the award would go to Nas and his King’s Disease. While a number of his supporters were disappointed with the pick, Freddie had nothing but jokes to let off about the decision. His nonchalance towards the loss can be found once again on his new track, “Big Boss Rabbit.”

Regarding the matter, he raps, “Grammy after party but we rock it like we won the b*tch.” The song was also released with a video that sees Freddie rapping with extreme confidence in all corners of his house as he totes a shotgun, records music with friends, and enjoys the company of strippers.

“Big Boss Rabbit” is just the latest single Freddie’s released since dropping Alfredo. Back in October, he linked with Big Sean and Hit-Boy for their “4 Thangs” which arrived with a video that present Freddie and Sean as a championship-winning basketball duo. In the new year he tapped Schoolboy Q for their relaxed “Gang Signs” collaboration. The three tracks could appear on the rapper’s upcoming solo project, which he partnered with Warner Records to release when the time comes.

Freddie Gibbs Uses Fake Instagram Pages To Mock Other Rappers In The Comments

Freddie Gibbs’ irreverent sense of humor is well-known, but not always appreciated. His penchant for ribaldry got him banned from Instagram last year, but that hasn’t stopped him from participating in the discourse — he just moved to a not-so-secret fake account, which he admitted to Joe Rogan’s podcast earlier this year. Now, in a new profile in GQ, he confesses that he may have more accounts that he uses to mock other rappers, who he sees as competitors in the sport of rhyming.

“You’re never too old to learn,” he allows, explaining why he spends so much time online studying his peers. “N****s become irrelevant because they stop learning and being sponges to the game. I eat, sleep, and breathe this shit, every day. I’m looking at what everybody’s doing. I’m getting on fake Instagram pages leaving comments like, ‘That sh*t is wack.’ I’m doing all kinds of bullsh*t, taunting people.”

At 38 years old, Freddie Gibbs is experiencing the most successful year of his career, receiving a Grammy nomination for Best Rap Album for Alfredo, his collaborative album with veteran producer The Alchemist, and preparing to make his film debut. He didn’t win, but in typical Gibbs fashion, he was all jokes at the party he threw on Grammy night.
