Doja Cat Says She “Feels Free” After Losing Followers Over Recent Argument With Fans

Doja Cat says that she “feels free” after seeing hundreds of thousands of fans unfollow her on social media. The comments come after she reportedly lost over 250,000 followers in two days due to arguing with her fans online. All-in-all, she’s down 800,000 since the incident. The drama began when she took issue with her followers for calling themselves “Kitten” or “Kittenz.”

“Seeing all these people unfollow me makes me feel like I’ve defeated a large beast that’s been holding me down for so long and it feels like I can reconnect with the people who really matter and love me for who I am and not for who I was,” Doja Cat posted on her Instagram Story, Wednesday. “I feel free.”

Despite gearing up for the release of a new album, Doja recently admitted during an interview with Harper’s Bazaar that she’d be willing to take a break from music to explore acting as a possible career. She even admitted she’d like to try her hand at stand-up comedy. “[Stand-up] is something I’ve definitely considered,” she told the publication. “I actually went onstage recently with Craig Robinson. He’ll get on a piano and just play songs, but he’ll do it in his own Craig Robinson, funny-ass way. I would love to do movies that I believe in. I would have to stop the music for a minute. But I would be down to immerse myself in acting for a certain period of time. I love comedies and action films. I want to learn martial arts and be in a film like John Wick.”

As for the new album, she also revealed in the interview that the working title is currently Scarlet. She described it as “introspective,” but not “to where it becomes boring.” Doja has yet to give the project a release date but be on the lookout for further updates on HotNewHipHop.

The Game Throws Back Fan’s Bra On Stage: “I Don’t Be Doing No Tricking!”

The Game was not having it when a fan tried throwing their bra on stage during one of his recent concerts. In a clip circulating on social media, The Game stops his performance as a woman throws her large red bra on stage.

From there, he brings up fans doing similar antics with Drake before making it abundantly clear he won’t be having any of it. “I don’t be doing no tricking!!!” The Game told the audience as he threw the bra back into the crowd.

Over the weekend, Drake actually asked his fans to stop throwing bras on stage out of respect for his son, Adonis. “Look, to be honest with you, I can’t talk about titties tonight in L.A. because my son is at the show for the first time,” Drake said on stage. “So we’ve got to keep this real PG tonight. The comments came after Drake recently made headlines for his reaction to seeing a particularly large bra be flung at him on stage. “36G?” he said excitedly. “Locate this woman immediately.” Eventually, Drake did locate the woman, who ended up being Veronica Correia out of Rhode Island. Correia later confirmed that Drake reached out to her via Instagram DM while on the Club Ambition podcast. “He slid up on a [Instagram] Story and laughed at one, simply sent a laughing face. And I took a day or two to respond because I just didn’t know what to say,” Correia said. “So I just liked it, and then I left him for like a day. Then I wrote out this paragraph, basically thanking him for the experience, an awesome show, and then I told him I own the coffee shop in Cumberland and asked if he liked coffee and how he likes it.” Drake went on to share some words of advice for the woman.

UTOPIA season is still underway, and it seems like Travis Scott is feeling grateful, inspired, and jubilant every step of the way. Moreover, a lot of his die-hards absolutely loved the new album, and while there are some detractors, its massive commercial success is certainly a strong indicator of that. Of course, that goes to show how important fans and listeners are to an artist’s success and ability to move forward in their careers. As someone who has always shown love to them, the Houston native knows this well. Especially considering the hype around UTOPIA, he recently took to Twitter with a special message for his supporters.

Sure, there’s the obvious reasons: streams, sales, support, fame, and everything that comes with being one of the biggest rappers in the world. But his fanbase in particular also has to reckon with the deaths of those among them at the Astroworld Festival in 2021, a tragedy that may forever taint Travis Scott’s career. While he somewhat addressed it on UTOPIA, his lack of accountability and deep reflection or remorse rubbed many the wrong way. As such, to still have a massive following after this is worth much more than any of us can imagine.

Whether he deserves that following after Astroworld is another question, and a far too complicated one to definitively answer. Some completely disregard his responsibility and follow blindly, whereas others’ love for him fuels their frustration, disappointment, or their hope and well-wishes for him to repent for it and rise above it. Regardless, the 32-year-old knows how important his fans are right now, and we just hope he keeps that in mind in many more live settings, media appearances, and the rest of his career. Yesterday, Cardi B took to Twitter to share an all-natural selfie with her fans. In the caption of the picture, she explained how her hair journey is going. “My hair has grown sooooo much!!! Let me know if y’all want a video my my HOMEMADE hair oil… handmade by ME!” it reads. Fans in the comment section were impressed and some wanted to know how they could achieve the same effects. One popular comment in particular honed in on the hair oil. “I want a video of the homemade hair oil. But honestly you should bottle it up and sell it ,it will do numbers.” This comment and others like it sparked controversial responses to her post.

“Black Women wanting hair growth tips & oil from her is crazy,” read a popular quote tweet of the post. But a similar and even more popular critique got even more detailed. “Y’all really don’t see how a LATINA selling “hair growth oil” to BLACK women could be misleading? A bunch of fried eggs.” Despite the humor of the comment, Cardi B herself took it seriously. She clapped back with a tweet of her own taking the fan to task over how long she’s been showing off her hair to fans. “IM NOT EVEN SELLIN ANYTHING YOU DUMBA*S B*TCH…I been showing my hair growth journey to my fans since 2016!” Cardi’s response tweet reads.

Earlier this week, the microphone that Cardi B threw at a fan during a crowd was sold at auction. After starting the bidding at just $500 the microphone received over 120 bids and when the dust settled it sold for almost $100k.

Ultimately, Cardi was lucky to dodge charges in the microphone throwing incident. In the days following the event a fan who was hit by the mic claimed she wasn’t even the one who threw a drink on Cardi to cause the throw in the first place. Tory Lanez was making a ton of headlines yesterday as his sentencing hearing took place. People were anticipating his sentence to come down swiftly. However, that is not at all how things played out. Instead, the judge had numerous people speak during the proceedings. The entire hearing played out throughout the afternoon and it never concluded. According to Meghann Cuniff, the judge decided that Tory’s sentencing would continue today. This subsequently kicked off another wave of anticipation.

Moreover, we even found out that numerous people sent letters to the judge, vouching for Tory. For instance, Iggy Azalea was one of the people who reached out. Overall, this led to a ton of backlash. Although, it doesn’t seem like Iggy cares about your criticisms. As for Tory’s fans, they are hoping for a light sentence. Some of them were even at the hearing yesterday. As you can see, this young fan is absolutely livid with Megan Thee Stallion. The woman claimed that she hates Meg and that supporting Tory is costing her a lot of money. She says that she had to take time off work in order to come to the courthouse. Moreover, she lives pretty far away, which made it a long trek. In her eyes, without Meg, this whole situation would have never happened. It was a bizarre rant that invoked a whole lot of victim-blaming. Whether or not this woman will return for day 2 of Tory’s sentencing, remains to be seen.

Tory Lanez is currently facing 13 years in prison, at least that is if the prosecution gets its way. The funny conversation is a callback to a previous feud between the duo, which reportedly involved money. Apparently, Cam’ron felt as though he didn’t get a fair deal when he signed to RichFish Records. The longtime beef was finally squashed in 2022, and Ma$e later claimed to have regretted it. “That’s one of the relationships I regret. In a gag posted on Rolling Loud’s TikTok, a man frantically shouts in support of the rapper as she performs on stage. When she turns her back to the audience and begins to twerk, the man drops to the ground. The superfan appeared to pass out, and security flocked to him to fan him off. He’s then seen being carried away by personnel.

The 23-year-old performed her brand new track “Deli” for the first time over the weekend, dubbing herself “miss poopie” in some snaps from the fest. The rapper rocked a simple, cropped pink velour jacket and denim shorts, complete with some fishnet tights and a pair of boots.

She raps, “Now she all on the floor when I kick in the door / How you mad I do less ’cause you gotta do more?”

Ice Spice has been rising to the top for months now, recently appearing alongside Nicki Minaj on the Barbie movie soundtrack. The duo previously took over the charts with their “Princess Diana (Remix)” collab earlier this year. During a recent interview with Zane Lowe, Ice Spice detailed how emotional it was for her to meet her collaborator. She revealed that she even started crying when Nicki hugged her, calling the meeting a “full-circle moment.”
