Jonathan Majors & Meagan Good Arrive In Court For Opening Statements

Jonathan Majors arrived in court for opening statements in his assault and harassment case in New York City on Monday. His girlfriend, actress Meagan Good, stood by his side as they walked into the courthouse. Majors faces misdemeanor charges of assault and harassment for an alleged altercation with his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari. The London-based movement coach is expected to testify in the case.

Jabbari claims the Creed III actor attacked her after she snatched his cellphone out of his hands during a taxi ride in Chinatown. She had seen a message reading, “I wish I was kissing you right now,” from another woman. She says he twisted her finger and put her arm behind her back while hitting her ear. From there, he picked her up and threw her back inside the car when she attempted to get out.

Majors has pleaded not guilty to the six misdemeanor assault and three misdemeanor harassment charges. He argues that Jabbari was the aggressor in the altercation. “Jonathan Majors, the real victim in this shameful ordeal, has had his life, career, and reputation torn apart. Yet he remains unwavering in his determination to be absolved from this harrowing ordeal,” Majors’ lawyers wrote in a statement after his arrest. Three months after the arrest, police arrested Jabbari as well, claiming there to be probable cause that she assaulted Majors. However, the district attorney’s office quickly dropped the case.

Of her arrest, Judge Criminal Court Judge Michael Gaffey said during last week’s pretrial hearings: “There are individuals who pass through this courthouse every day who are indigent and accused of a crime. I don’t believe I’ve ever witnessed, three months later, an indigent person requesting the arrest of a complainant, and then the complainant was indeed arrested. Did this only come about because of the high-profile nature of this case? Jonathan Majors Seen Leaving NYC Courthouse In “FREEDOM” Cap After Facing Assault Allegations

On Saturday (March 25), the world was shocked by the news of Jonathan Majors’ unexpected arrest. As DailyMail reports, he was taken into custody yesterday morning. He’s currently facing charges of “strangulation, assault, and harassment,” according to NYPD officials. The accusations come from his 30-year-old girlfriend, who called authorities after sustaining injuries to her head and neck. Despite the evidence coming out against his client, the Creed III actor‘s representative is vehemently denying any wrongdoing.

“He’s done nothing wrong. We look forward to clearing his name and clearing this up,” they shared in a statement. Less than 12 hours after he was arrested, another update regarding Majors’ case came out. At the time, photographers captured him leaving an NYC courthouse. He was notably wearing a cap that reads “FREEDOM FREEDOM” and a COVID-19 mask. By his side was either an attorney or assistant, who shielded the 33-year-old from the rain with a translucent umbrella.

While many details regarding the situation that resulted in Majors’ arrest are still under wraps, we have heard reports claiming that the couple broke out into an argument during a taxi ride. The alleged victim apparently saw another woman text her man’s phone, resulting in an altercation that’s said to have turned physical. The Ant-Man star is being accused of slapping his partner when she tried to view the messages before putting his hands around her neck, ultimately resulting in visible injuries. Among them was a “laceration behind her ear, redness, and marks to her face.”

At the time of his arrest, Jonathan Majors was promptly cuffed and hauled off to jail. Police reportedly “felt there was enough evidence for probable cause.” At the same time, his girlfriend was taken to a local hospital where she was assessed and thankfully declared to be stable.
