SZA Has An Explanation For Why Her Verse On Drake’s ‘For All The Dogs’ Might Be Tough To Understand

SZA has a couple of features on Drake’s For All The Dogs, on “Slime You Out” and “Rich Baby Daddy” (the latter of which also features Sexyy Red). “Rich Baby Daddy,” though, has apparently caused some confusion, which SZA has now addressed.

In an Instagram Story shared yesterday (December 27), SZA explained the story behind recording her contribution to the song, saying, “Y’all lmao I was sick w a fever n couldnt breathe when I recorded this and told @champagnepapi no one would understand me n I sound crazy. He said noooo ur fine anyways here’s the lyrics to RBD once n for all.”

She then clarified the lyric, writing, “‘You been so good and you deserve to end your suffering, I need good dick n conversation can you comfort me. I got a feeling this is more than what we both say I got a feeling this is more than feelings. I can’t let you get away .. feels good but it can’t be love . Ain’t a damn thing that I’d do ! Ain’t a damn thing oooooo’ just in case lmao love y’all.”

Meanwhile, SZA explained her musical origins in a recent interview, saying, “Some people choose music as a career, and they feel very certain about what they’re doing and why they’re doing it, but I was never quite certain, and I really only did music to prove a point. […] When I started making music, it was to my ex-fiancé because he was paying for everything. My food, my clothes, where I lived, and he was eight years my senior, so I was so co-dependent.”

Did Kendrick Lamar Diss Big Sean On His Song ‘Element?’

Kendrick Lamar’s Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers continues to rack up impressive streaming numbers. However, thanks to a viral clip floating around online, his 2017 song “Element” has reentered the mainstream hip-hop chatter. Unlike the official version, Kendrick’s bars in this recording have very clearly named targets. So, did Kendrick diss Big Sean on the unreleased version of “Element?”

The lyrics in question make it hard to refute: “Big Sean keep sneak dissin’ I let it slide / I think his false confidence got him inspired / I can’t make them respect you, baby, it’s not my job / You’re finally famous for who you date, not how you rhyme boy/ Cute ass raps, get your puberty up.” However, during his causal chat with TMZ, Big Sean shut down the idea of any lingering beef between the two.

He went as far as to dismiss the supposed leaked verse, saying, “Ain’t no diss. If it was a diss, it would be a diss!”

Big Sean was the only person mentioned in the unreleased recording. French Montana and Jay Electronica both caught strays. Even Meek Mill and Drake are referenced. Since Kendrick Lamar’s verse on Big Sean’s 2013 “Control” song, supporters of each rapper have speculated that they’ve subtly taken jabs at each other on records throughout the years.

Dave

Dave has shown his humanitarian side by supporting three countries facing human rights crises – Palestine, Congo, and Sudan. Through his latest track, “Peace Dream,” the UK rapper raised over $500,000 to aid those in need.

Dave Raises $500K For Those In Need

Dave took to his Twitter (X) account on Dec.19 to announce his initiative and share the purpose behind his single, “Peace Dream.”

This song served as a means to generate financial support for the ongoing genocides in Palestine, Congo, and Sudan. Thanks to the generosity of his fans, Dave has managed to raise over $500,000 towards these causes.

Expressing his gratitude, Dave wrote:

“We raised close to £500,000 factoring everything in last Sunday for the charities in Palestine, Congo, and Sudan. Massive love to all. Thanks for playing a part and allowing me to play my part also. Will keep you updated on the journey the donations take to those in need.”

What Happened In Palestine?

The response from users on Twitter (X) has been overwhelmingly positive, with words of admiration and respect directed towards Dave for his charitable efforts.

One user named @NuJhayhne commented, “That’s why you’re the goat God will keep blessing you.” Another user named @UTD_MNM commented “Absolute legend!!! Respect to you King!”

Palestine is dealing with bombings from Israel that started on October 7 after Palestinian-led Hamas invaded Israel, and so far over 20,000 Palestinians have been killed. The initial conflict between Israel and Palestine has existed since the 1940s.

Congo & Sudan

The Democratic Republic of Congo, on the other hand, is facing political tensions due to national elections, leading to increased violence.

Clashes between militant groups, territorial disputes, extrajudicial killings by security forces, and tensions with neighboring Rwanda have resulted in a deadly conflict. Over 7 million Congolese citizens have been displaced as a result.

Meanwhile, Sudan is grappling with a genocide in its Darfur region. The Rapid Support Forces (RSF), led by Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, have been engaged in a power struggle with Sudanese Armed Forces(SAF)  forces loyal to General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan

This internal conflict has claimed the lives of more than 9,000 people and displaced over 7 million Sudanese citizens.

The Game Joins The Conversation On Israel-Palestine Conflict: ‘How Are We Allowing This?’

The Game has joined the growing list of artists using their platforms to speak out against the ongoing Israel-Palestine conflict. The Los Angeles rapper took to his social media, revealing deep concern.

The Game Talks Israel-Palestine Conflict

In a heartfelt Instagram post on Dec. 5, The Game revealed his deep concern for the children caught in the crossfire of the Israel-Palestine conflict. Referring to his children, he admitted that he couldn’t fathom the pain of losing one of them and empathized with the parents in Gaza who were witnessing their children being murdered.

”Some people don’t want to see this …some do want to very much so be aware but can’t stomach the images. I have children. 3 to be exact & I’m sorry to say that if anything happened to 1 of them I don’t know if I could pull it together for the other 2,” he said.

https://www.instagram.com/p/C0e3NOfrrSL/?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==

The Game reflected on his upbringing, stating that he was “surrounded by everything that strips a child of harmony.” He also expressed sorrow for the parents, aunts, uncles, and grandparents witnessing their children being killed in Gaza.

“I don’t know the exact number of those babies who have perished at this point but last time I checked it was nearing or over 10,000. I can’t say I’m the most religious…I can’t say I’m on any side other than that of these children.”

‘How Are We Allowing This?’

The conflict started on Oct. 7 when Palestinian-led Hamas led an invasion of Israel. Since then, Israel has responded by constantly bombing Palestinians in Gaza, which has resulted in over 16,000 Palestinian deaths, according to Reuters

The Game would later plead by asking why adults put children in those dangerous and deadly situations.

“How are we allowing this as a human race?? What kind of people…ADULT people in positions of power from any country in this world chilling while these kids are getting blew to pieces?!?!?”

The “How We Do” rapper ended the post by saying:

“Truly saddened by everything that I’m witnessing & have witnessed over the past almost 2 months. Hard to enjoy my day knowing someone out there might never enjoy another one as long as they live.”

Users in the comment section reacted to The Game’s statements. One user named @tvctara commented “Finally someone with a large platform speaking up,” and one other user named @sj_d93 commented “THANK YOU GAME! FREE PALESTINE. ITS A GENOCIDE GOING ON!.”

Kid Cudi Joins Drake, Kehlani & Others To Advocate For Peace In Palestine: ‘I’ll Always Encourage Peace’

Kid Cudi has recently expressed his support for a ceasefire in the Israel-Hamas conflict. His stance aligns with artists like Drake and Kehlani, who are part of the Artists 4 Ceasefire initiative, which recently penned an open letter to President Joe Biden and the United States Congress. The letter appeals for an immediate de-escalation and ceasefire in Gaza and Israel, condemning the loss of lives in the ongoing Israel-Palestine conflict.

Artists Team Up To Call For Ceasefire

Kid Cudi has recently spoken out and called for a cease-fire in the Israel-Hamas war. This comes amidst artists such as Drake and Kehlani, who joined the initiative called Artists 4 Ceasefire, penning an open letter to President Joe Biden and the United States Congress.

Other artists who have signed the petition include Killer Mike, Vic Mensa, Victoria Monét, and many others.  Mensa posted on his Instagram on October 27, simply commenting, “Ceasefire” and promoting the open letter.

The letter appeals for an immediate de-escalation and ceasefire in Gaza and Israel, condemning the loss of lives in the ongoing Israel-Palestine conflict. The letter states:

“Dear President Biden,

We come together as artists and advocates, but most importantly as human beings witnessing the devastating loss of lives and unfolding horrors in Israel and Palestine. We ask that, as President of the United States, you and the US Congress call for an immediate de-escalation and ceasefire in Gaza and Israel before another life is lost. More than 5,000 people have been killed in the last week and a half – a number any person of conscience knows is catastrophic. We believe all life is sacred, no matter faith or ethnicity and we condemn the killing of Palestinian and Israeli civilians.”

Kid Cudi Speaks Out

Kid Cudi took to Instagram on Nov. 5 to express his heartfelt sentiments, stating that he cannot remain silent in the face of such devastation and that as an artist, he feels responsible for giving voice to the unheard.

“The things I’ve been seeing in the news have been breaking my heart,” he began. “I can’t watch what’s happening in the world and remain silent. I can’t imagine the pain people are feeling. “I know some people are gonna disagree with me, but that’s ok. As a Black man, I stand against all forms of oppression. And as an artist, I feel responsible to give a voice to the unheard, and to celebrate the spirit of all people through my work and my presence. It matters to me that my art represents my deepest beliefs about what I think humanity can look like.”

The “Day ‘n’ Nite” rapper also hoped that both nations could have peace and that the loss of lives would stop:

“I’m hopeful we won’t attack each other on the basis of upholding basic human rights. I’ll always encourage peace for everyone – physical peace, mental peace, spiritual peace. No matter the religion or ethnicity, the loss of innocent lives is never acceptable.” Kid Cudi also condemned any violence towards the Jewish people and that Anti-Semitism is “never welcome.”

‘Everybody Wrong’

Kid Cudi would later end his post by calling for a ceasefire and wishing for freedom for Palestine:

“I stand with the people of Palestine as they demand an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and an end to the ongoing genocide. My heart goes out to all my brothers and sisters of all faiths and backgrounds who are suffering. Free Palestine!! With Love, Scott. [Kid Cudi’s real name].”

In a recent interview with SOHH, hip-hop legend KRS-ONE shared his perspective on the Israel-Palestine conflict, stating that “everybody wrong,” and that Israel should not control Palestine’s land.

On a more positive note, Kid Cudi is set to return to the stage as the hip-hop headliner for ComplexCon, an event set to take place in Long Beach, California. The event is set to take place between November 18-19.

DJ Khaled Faces Backlash

Amidst the artists openly supporting Palestine, DJ Khaled, of Palestinian descent, faced criticism for his silence regarding the Israel-Palestine war. Fans took to social media to express their disappointment, questioning why he had not spoken up on the matter.

Sexyy Red’s 2023 Features, Ranked

It goes without saying that 2023 has been a great year for Sexyy Red, both as a lead artist and with her features. Throughout the year, the rapper dominated airwaves and made multiple appearances on charts across the globe. In addition, she is also widely regarded as one of the biggest breakout stars of the year. Rolling Stone even crowned her hit song “SkeeYee” as the best rap song of 2023. Likewise, fans of her music will refer to 2023 for years to come, because her work rate was truly astounding. Besides releasing several singles and an album, Sexyy Red had a laudable amount of features in 2023. Ranked from worst to best, here they all are.

21. “Sexyy & Conceited” – Pardison Fontaine ft. Sexyy Red

This track was released as a part of Pardison Fontaine’s recent album SEXT8PE. Sexyy Red’s verse contains her signature confidence and braggadocio. Additionally, while she and Fontaine may not have phenomenal chemistry, they are not a bad pairing. However, this might just be arguably her most forgettable feature of 2023.

20. “Perc & Sex” – YN Jay ft. Sexyy Red & G Herbo

YN Jay originally released “Perc & Sex” as a track without features on his 2022 album Coochie Goat. Following its considerable success, he released a remix featuring Sexyy Red and G Herbo in August 2023. While the original song remains one of his biggest tracks right now, the remix has not been as successful. Sexyy Red tried to pull her weight on the track, but the song didn’t hit quite like it should.

19. “I Love Freaks (Sexyy’s Version)” – Lijay ft. Sexyy Red

In this song, Lijay and Sexyy Red let listeners know just how much they love freaks. This is very familiar territory for Sexyy Red. As a result, although Lijay is the lead artist, she all but eats him up on the track. “I Love Freaks” may not be among the most impressive features Sexyy Red has appeared on in 2023. However, that doesn’t make it any less of a bop.

18. “Big Dawg” – Moneybagg Yo ft. Sexyy Red

Running neither hot nor cold, “Big Dawg” is an okay song featuring okay verses from both rappers. While it’s not a bad song, it could certainly be a lot better than it is. Without a doubt, Moneybagg Yo and Sexyy Red can make a harder song, given the opportunity. Hopefully, they’ll collaborate again and create another fire track.

17. “Hoe Sh*t” – Genesisthegawd ft. Sexyy Red

Genesisthegawd enlisted the help of Sexyy Red on the remix of “Hoe Sh*t,” which was released on October 20, 2023. On the track, the two femcees trade bars on their respective verses. They rap about being on their “hoe sh*t,” and we kind of would like to be on ours as well. While it may not be among her absolute best features of 2023, Sexyy Red shines on this track.

16. “All She Do Is Shake” – J Traxx ft. Sexyy Red

Despite being arguably the least popular song on this list, “All She Do Is Shake” is a good song. It runs for less than two minutes, and features a very short verse from Sexyy Red. However, it manages to be memorable, regardless. Sexyy Red and J Traxx should definitely consider more collaborations in the future.

15. “Shiesty” – Finesse2Tymes ft. Kaliii & Sexyy Red

Another successful collaboration, all three rappers brought their A-game on “Shiesty.” Released on June 23, 2023, the song is a treat for fans of dirty rap.  Despite not appearing on the charts, “Shiesty” is considerably popular. Subsequently, it would get much bigger as it has what it takes to be a huge club banger.

14. “Bent (Remix)” – 41, Kyle Richh, Jenn Carter, TaTa ft. Sexyy Red

Hip Hop trio 41 released their project 41 World: Not The Album on November 17, 2023. The 11-track body of work contains their hit song “Bent,” as well as the remix with Sexyy Red. Admittedly, Red has had much bigger features in 2023. However, her chemistry with the members of 41 on this track is undeniable. All four performers effortlessly glide through the song.

13. “No Panties” – Raedio ft. Sexyy Red

“No Panties” is a soundtrack from the second season of Max’s Rap Sh!t. It appears on RAP SHIT: The Mixtape (From the Max Original Series, S2), which was released on November 3, 2023. As usual, Sexyy Red was in her dirty rap bag on this track. Like she does on “Rich Baby Daddy,” she spits bars about letting her “coochie breathe.” We can’t complain because it goes so hard.

12. “Check” – Gloss Up ft. Sexyy Red

Shades of Gloss, an album by Gloss, was released on August 11, 2023. The project contains 13 tracks, and one of its standout songs is “Check.” On the track, Gloss Up brought the heat, and so did Sexyy Red. The verses are notable, and the hook is quite catchy as well.

11. “Peaches & Eggplants (Remix)” – Young Nudy ft. Latto & Sexyy Red

Young Nudy’s “Peaches & Eggplants” remix was released on September 8, 2023. As the title suggests, the song is quite explicit, making Sexyy Red a great fit. While it’s not as successful as the original, this remix is also pretty good. Overall, Sexyy Red and Latto both delivered, as expected.

10. “SLUT ME OUT” – NLE Choppa ft. Sexyy Red

This track was released on April 7, 2023, accompanied by a music video. While the original song charted on the Billboard Hot 100, this remix did not. However, it is a favorite for fans of Sexyy Red and is one of her most popular features in 2023. NLE Choppa and the fiery femcee are a delightable, dirty duo on the track, making for an epic club staple.

9. “Yonce Freestyle” – Kevin Gates ft. Sexyy Red & BG

Released as a non-album single, “Yonce Freestyle” is shaping up to become a sleeper hit. It features a memorable hook from Gates and notable verses from Red and BG. Evidently, the attention it has received is well-earned, and it may very well get more popular. All three rappers are in their element on the track, and that’s what makes it work so well.

8. “Daddy” – Tokischa ft. Sexyy Red

On this reggaeton track, Tokischa teams up with Sexyy Red to deliver a provocative and danceable rap number. The Dominican rapper sets the tone, bringing the heat with her verse. Likewise, Sexyy Red, exhibiting her versatility, eats the beat up as well. “Daddy” is a certified party starter and one of the more unique features Sexyy Red appeared on in 2023.

7. “BING BONG (Remix)” – BlakeIANA ft. Sexyy Red

Although her verse on the track is short, Sexyy Red completely ate it up. Both rappers effortlessly glided on the beat throughout the song. They did it so well that by the time the song ends, you can barely tell that much time has passed. Sexyy Red’s collaborations with other women in rap are always a good idea, and the remix of “BING BONG” is no different.

6. “Area Codes (314 Remix)” – Kaliii ft. Sexyy Red

Representing St. Louis, Missouri, Sexyy Red appears on the 314 remix of “Area Codes.” The track was released on May 11, 2023. It sees Sexyy Red serving up a red hot verse rivaling that of Kaliii’s. The entire song is just a little over two minutes and has a high replay value. As far as Sexyy’s best verses this year, this one’s right up there.

5. “Shake Sumn (Remix)” – DaBaby ft. Sexyy Red

Released on July 7, 2023, DaBaby teams up with Sexyy Red on this remix. If we’re being honest, “Shake Sumn (Remix)” might as well be Sexyy Red’s song. DaBaby gives her so much space to shine, and she does just that. While his own contributions are minimal, somehow, it works pretty well for the track. Apparently, it’s one of the best features Sexyy Red was attached to in 2023.

4. “Face Down” – MCVERRT ft. Sexyy Red & FERG

It’s easy to like a song with an energetic beat like the one featured on “Face Down.” Besides the production, however, the rappers’ performances make the track what it is. Sexyy Red kept up with the two other artists, and they all demolished their verses. With raunchy lyrics that’ll make anyone clutch their pearls, the song was a surefire hit.

3. “One Margarita (Margarita Song) [Ladies Remix]” – That Chick Angel ft. Sexyy Red, FendiDa Rappa & Flo Milli

At this point, the whole world must have heard “One Margarita” already. The original version of the song was released on May 31. Subsequently, it went viral and has spawned several remixes. The “Ladies Remix” was released in August, and is just as much a bop as the original. Sexyy Red features in 2023 are indeed abundant, but there’s something so effortlessly natural about her contributions to the already viral track.

2. “MMM HMM” – Lancey Foux ft. Sexyy Red

Right off the bat, listeners can tell this is a hard song worth jamming to. Firstly, the beat goes wild. Secondly, Lancey Foux delivers exactly as expected. Likewise, Sexyy Red leaves nothing on the plate after her verse is done. It’s a wonder that the song did not appear on the charts, but it certainly deserved to. With a chorus worth replaying over and over again, “MMM HMM” still has enough time to weave itself back into listeners’ consciousness. Perhaps a viral moment on TikTok is just what it needs.

1. “Rich Baby Daddy” – Drake ft. SZA & Sexyy Red

At the moment, this is the biggest song in Sexxy Red’s discography. It was only just released in October as a part of Drake’s eighth studio album, For All the Dogs. However, it has already surpassed every other song in Red’s catalog in terms of streams. It comes as no surprise, considering that it’s a Drake song featuring SZA. Nevertheless, “Rich Baby Daddy” is a great track despite the musical giants that appear on it. Sexxy Red delivers a hook that is quintessential to the song, securing it as one of her best features of all time, and the best in 2023.

Peso Pluma, Drake, Bad Bunny, And More Were YouTube’s Most-Viewed Artists In 2023

peso pluma

YouTube released its list of the most-viewed artists for 2023, and Peso Pluma took this year’s top spot. The musician gained over 8.5 billion views on his music videos across the globe.

“I feel humble and grateful that my music has made it to the top spot on YouTube,” Peso Pluma told The Hollywood Reporter. “A huge thank you to my musicians and team, my fans, everyone at YouTube and all the people who have made this project possible.”

Two of his songs, “Ella Baila Sola” (feat. Eslabón Armado) and “La Bebe (Remix)” (feat. Yng Lvcas), placed in third and fourth on YouTube’s Top 10 Songs in the US for 2023 as well.

According to the publication, “Ella Baila Sola” got a significant boost through TikTok. It broke a ton of records, too. Peso Pluma’s hit became the first regional Mexican song to make it in the Top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at No. 4 on the chart. It also spent 19 weeks on the Hot Latin Songs Chart and is certified 21x Platinum — amounting to 1.26 million in units.

As for the other artists rounding out YouTube’s most-viewed list this year, YoungBoy Never Broke Again, Drake, Bad Bunny, and Taylor Swift were the rest of the Top 5.

Is Morgan Wallen Featured On Drake’s ‘You Broke My Heart?’

Today (December 20), Drake treated fans to a music video for “You Broke My Heart,” a highlight from the recently released Scary Hours Edition of his For All The Dogs album. And there are some serious surprises.

Is Morgan Wallen Featured On Drake’s “You Broke My Heart?”

While Morgan Wallen is not featured on the song itself, viewers who started the music video will find the country singer having dinner with Drake. The two discuss the ways they were hurt by their exes but have no idea what else is in store.

Drake and Wallen go to head home from the restaurant, only to be blown up as the car explodes. The two women that play their exes then carry the rest of the video doing a lip-sync to the track.

Before Wallen’s appearance in the video, it didn’t seem he had much of a relationship with Drake. He previously took over Drake’s record of the most simultaneous entries on the Billboard Hot 100. And there was a Delaware DJ who made a viral mashup of Wallen’s “Thinking About Me” with Lil Wayne’s “Right Above It” (which features Drake). But that was the closest the two came in the news to interacting… Until now.

Check out the video for Drake’s “You Broke My Heart” above.

Who Are The Women In Drake’s ‘You Broke My Heart’ Video?

Drake’s got a fun habit of making videos that sort of don’t match the themes. For instance, the “Polar Opposites” video features Drake hanging out with a bunch of old guys, the “First Person Shooter” video has Michael Jackson dancing but not much in the way of gaming, and in “Another Late Night,” Drake and Lil Yachty seem to be celebrating Christmas two months early. So, it shouldn’t be a surprise that his “You Broke My Heart” video, which dropped today after some light teasing last night, barely even features Drake — or his explicable co-star, Morgan Wallen.

Instead, two women take the spotlight after arranging an explosion that takes the two stars out of the equation, then perform Drake’s lyrics themselves as the world responds to the chaos in a stunning, “one-take” video. So, who are these two women, who are credited as the stars in the credits? As the credits begin, the two women are credited as Grace Matthews and Taylor Morris. Searches on Instgram, TikTok, Reddit, and Twitter (never calling it “X”) yield no reliable results for either woman’s name (they ARE pretty common names, after all) or how they are connected to Drake.

While their identities remain unclear at this time, starring in the video is sure to put both names on the map in short order. After all, Drake’s co-sign has helped draw attention to a number of artists, actors, and models who get attached to him (there’s even a pretty good SNL sketch about it). We’ll probably find out who these women are soon enough.

There’s No Way Drake And (For Some Reason) Morgan Wallen Survive What Happens To Them In The Wild ‘You Broke My Heart’ Video

Drake has kept the surprises coming all year long. Back in October, he released his eighth studio album For All The Dogs in the middle of the buzzy It’s All A Blur Tour. A month later, he dropped the extended version of For All The Dogs, called the Scary Hours Edition, which featured the instant fan-favorite “You Broke My Heart.” Today (December 20), Drizzy has shared the video for “You Broke My Heart,” and boy, is it… interesting?

The video begins with Drake having dinner with, for some reason, Morgan Wallen, as the two rant about their exes. After their meal, the two enter a car, which explodes shortly after.

The two women responsible for the musicians’ fiery incident — seemingly their exes, played by Grace Matthews and Taylor Morris — then appear on screen walking through the scene amid the wreckage, rapping and lip-syncing to the song’s lyrics for the rest of the clip. It’s not clear what pushed the ladies to blow up the car, but we can assume Wallen and Drake’s actions were less than favorable.

Early next year, Drake will embark on the It’s All A Blur: Big As The What? Tour with J. Cole at various North American venues.

You can see the video for “You Broke My Heart” above.
