Kendrick Lamar Appears To Diss Drake On New SZA Song “30 For 30”

Kendrick Lamar and SZA have been a dynamic duo over the past few months. SZA had two standout appearances on Lamar’s album, GNX. They announced plans for a Grand National co-headlining tour in 2025. Now, Lamar has returned the favor and dropped a guest verse on SZA’s LANA (SOS Deluxe). It’s the lone feature on album, and sure enough, it has some subliminal disses packed into it. Lamar appears to go at someone SZA is friendly with, and all signs point to the target being Drake (again).

Kendrick Lamar’s verse appears on the song “30 for 30.” The rapper makes fun of someone SZA is close with, asserting they are more feminine than she is. “You f*ckin’ with n**gas that’s thinkin’ they cuter than you,” Lamar spits. “Say you on your cycle but he on his period too.” Drake was romantically involved with SZA at one point. The two also worked together on two huge singles in 2023, “Slime You Out” and “Rich Baby Daddy.” Drake went as far as to claim that SZA had Kendrick Lamar “wiped down” on his scathing Lamar diss “Push Ups.” Obviously, SZA has decided to back her former TDE brother in the battle.

Kendrick Lamar And SZA Repurposed A Drake Song Title

There are other Kendrick Lamar bars littered throughout “30 for 30” that could be aimed at Drake. He claims his unnamed target is tender by rapping: “the tenderness of ’em, mistaking ’em for some waygu.” Then there’s the bar: “the tables been turnin’ so much, I was thinkin’ its foosball.” Another stray that is very easy to apply to Drake, given that many have claimed Lamar has usurped him in popularity. Then there’s the title of the song. “30 for 30” is, famously, the name of a Drake song from 2015. Granted, he added the word “freestyle” to his song, but this does not seem like a coincidence.

Kendrick Lamar’s added subliminals make sense, assuming they are aimed at Drake. The 6 God has launched a legal case against UMG and Spotify over the success of Lamar’s “Not Like Us.” Drake claims that the streaming numbers for Lamar’s biggest hit were “artificially inflated.” It doesn’t take a close look to infer who Lamar’s bars about being “cute” and tender could be aimed at.

DDG Reacts To Catching Stray From Kendrick Lamar Affiliate Hitta J3 After Tory Lanez’s Drake Support

Earlier this week, DDG dropped off his new EP, Handling Business. The project features a verse from Tory Lanez, who decided to take the opportunity to show his support for Drake. “I be up praying and waiting for the day that n***as come for me the way they did Drizzy / I got the card in the wallet, and big brodie’s problems are my problems, so f**k how you feelin’ about it / Brodie gone stand on his own, but 2024, it ain’t no fair ones in Toronto,” he raps.

This led to speculation that he was referring to Drake’s viral feud with Kendrick Lamar and various others. This is not confirmed, but one of Kendrick’s associates decided to weigh in regardless. In a series of tweets shared yesterday, Hitta J3 made it clear that he was not a fan of the verse, clowning both Lanez and Drake. DDG even caught a stray, as the rapper claimed he once saw him at a party and he “looked like he seen a ghost.”

DDG Claims He Doesn’t Know Who Hitta J3 Is

“Tory better chill out only person coming for him is the guard on that cell block nah but free that man,” he wrote. “DDG seen me at rich the kid party & looked like he seen a ghost & I said wassup he act like he was legally blind.” He went on, dragging Drake for getting support from Lanez and not other peers. “The boy must really need help he got prisoners speaking up for him before his industry friends lol,” he theorized. “N****s nice & we can’t take a man serious in protective custody. I’m speaking my peace same way he played the record on his stream now what.”

Now, DDG has responded to Hitta J3’s remarks during a recent stream. Fortunately, he doesn’t appear to be fazed. In a clip, he claims he has no idea who he is. “I don’t even know who the hell this is, bro,” he said. “The f*ck?” He went on, reminding fans that he didn’t write Lanez’s verse, so it’s not a reflection of his personal thoughts and beliefs.

J Cole Apologized To This NBA Champion For Dissing Him Over A Decade Ago

J Cole is indulging in a lot of nostalgia these days alongside his fans. He released new versions of 2014 Forest Hills Drive with bonus tracks for its tenth anniversary, put his early mixtapes on streaming for the first time, and even launched an audio series titled Inevitable going over his career. But this means that the North Carolina rapper also reflected on some previous mistakes, which has apparently been a months-long process. Moreover, former NBA player Shane Battier recently revealed on his podcast that Cole actually apologized to him earlier in 2024 (specifically this summer) for dissing him on the Cole World: The Sideline Story track “Rise and Shine.”

We in two different games, you playing patty cake / Brother you’re lame, you’re Shane Battier,” J. Cole rapped on the cut 13 years ago. For those unaware, Cole is a big supporter of his UNC Tar Heels, the NCAA basketball team whose rivals are Duke. Shane Battier played for Duke, and the Miami Heat champion explained on his Glue Guys podcast that he just saw this as a stray shot from a passionate sports fan.

Shane Batter Recalls J Cole Apologizing To Him

But then, Shane Battier told the story about how, one day, he was eating dinner in Miami when a waiter told him that J. Cole was there and wanted to apologize to him. “I’m like, ‘Who’s bulls**tting me here?’” Battier joked. “Like, there’s someone yanking my chain. Like, ‘Ha ha, very funny. I get it, guys. I’m lame.’ And, sure enough, I go around the corner and J. Cole was way bigger than I thought in real life. Basketball, like, 6’5″, he’s a big dude. And he’s like, ‘Hey man, I was praying for this moment, that we would have this moment to where I could say, you know what, man, my bad, I was young.’”

Of course, many hip-hop fans out there probably can’t hear this story without thinking about J. Cole’s apology to Kendrick Lamar for dissing him earlier this year. But it just goes to show how big Cole’s heart can get, even when he doesn’t need to clarify a 13-year-old diss. Props to Shane Battier for respecting the mutual UNC/Duke hate and taking it like a champ!

DJ Akademiks Puts Jay-Z On Blast After Getting Dissed By Rapsody

Recently, Rapsody appeared to call out DJ Akademiks during a freestyle over Kendrick Lamar’s “tv off” on Sway. “Feel like a Greek how I be stepping on these b****h n***as, Akademik / Affidavits, entertainment n***as who got open cases / Women charges, they say you violated,” she rapped. Of course, the internet personality didn’t waste any time before addressing the apparent jabs on stream. In a clip, he questions whether or not she’s aware of what kind of legal issues the owner of her record label Roc Nation has allegedly dealt with in the past.

“I do want to ask you this one question Rapsody,” he begins. “You signed to Roc Nation. I hope you go up there to the office. Do you ever do that? […] This is where my rap battle, where my diss song is gonna be at with you. When you talk about people with open cases, you know how many open cases your mans got? That run the label that you on? Do you know how many cases got settled that we didn’t hear about but I know about, even though the NDA is strong?”

DJ Akademiks Reacts To Rapsody Seemingly Dissing Him In Freestyle

“You’re gonna look like a f*cking hypocrite,” Akademiks continued. “You’re on Roc Nation, and all y’all n****s in the 90s was all doing dirty d*ck diddler sh*t. You ain’t signed to Jesus baby girl, you signed to Jay-Z. Let’s keep that fact up there because I’m always down to talk.” At the time of writing, Rapsody has yet to respond. It also remains unclear when exactly fans can expect to hear Akademiks’ diss track.

This is far from the first time DJ Akademiks has been called out as of late, however. Earlier this month, social media users noticed that Kendrick Lamar landed a top spot in his Spotify Wrapped. “Normally Kendrick Lamar wouldn’t sniff my spotify wrapped.. but he’s #2 on mine,” he tweeted at the time. “The explanation for that is thats what happens when u beef with every1 favorite rapper.. we gotta listen to ur s**t too cuz of the beef. Beefing when its just musical competition helps both artists.”

Rapsody Disses DJ Akademiks During Her Sway Freestyle Over Kendrick Lamar’s “tv off”

When DJ Akademiks beefs with an artist, not only is he usually the “instigator” – as some people might just overreact to his comments – but it’s almost never on wax. Things usually stay on the Internet and don’t really go much further than that… But the key word here is “usually.” Moreover, Rapsody recently seemed to diss the media personality during her freestyle on Sway. “Feel like a Greek how I be stepping on these b****h n***as, Akademik / Affidavits, entertainment n***as who got open cases / Women charges, they say you violated,” she rapped. Maybe this didn’t have anything to do with Ak at all, but it lines up, so we’re sure that he will have a fiery rant on his livestream in response.

The sadder and more disrespectful option, though, is if DJ Akademiks tries to downplay Rapsody’s skill and success as a retort, which would only make her bars true. For those unaware, he’s been accused of sexual assault in the past and has more than a few controversies involving his alleged treatment of women and his outright beefs with females online.

Rapsody’s Sway Freestyle Dissing DJ Akademiks

However, we forgot to mention one tiny little detail about this Rapsody freestyle that seemingly dissed DJ Akademiks: it was over Kendrick Lamar’s “tv off” beat. Considering that K.Dot himself sent shots Ak’s way on “6:16 in LA” amid the Drake battle and the media personality’s allegedly “compromised” nature, this is just a poetic coincidence that probably made the diss that much clearer for Akademiks and for audiences. This detail about that mention on Kendrick’s track hasn’t gotten any less relevant, by the way. Recently, the streamer and commentator revealed his Spotify wrap-up. The Compton lyricist’s “Not Like Us” and “euphoria” both ranked above Ak’s GOAT Drizzy’s “Family Matters” and “Push Ups.”

“Normally Kendrick Lamar wouldn’t sniff my spotify wrapped.. but he’s #2 on mine,” DJ Akademiks tweeted. “he explanation for that is thats what happens when u beef with every1 favorite rapper.. we gotta listen to ur s**t too cuz of the beef. Beefing when its just musical competition helps both artists.” We wonder if Rapsody will show up on his Wrapped next year!

J Cole Reveals Why He Dissed Kanye West On His Own Song

J Cole and Kanye West’s relationship has always been complicated, and recently, the Dreamville founder recalled some of the tension leading up to their 2010 G.O.O.D. Fridays collaboration “Looking For Trouble.” Ye hosted a UStream before dropping My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, and according to Cole, made a comment that he perceived as dismissive. A fan had asked Ye whether or not he had any plans to work with Cole, and his response left the then-up-and-coming artist disappointed.

“Kanye’s answer was, like — I don’t think anybody watching it would notice, but me being me, I looked at him like, ‘Aw, that sh*t was hella dismissive,’” he explained during a new episode of his Inevitable audio series. “He said, ‘I mean, we might put him on one of the G.O.O.D. Fridays or something.’ It was like a, ‘Yes, but.’ He’s not a n***a that I would [feature on my album] […] If he would’ve been like, ‘Yeah, it would be fire to put him on a G.O.O.D. Friday [song]’ it would have been a different feeling.” Eventually, Cole received a call from Ye asking him to record a verse for the series. At first, he said no, but he later agreed after some convincing.

“[Kanye] was like, ‘I asked such and such and they make it happen.’ It was a polite flex of like, ‘I think you can make this happen.’ It made me be like, ‘Alright, yeah, how can I make it happen?’” he explained. “Mind you, I didn’t have nobody’s verse. The n***a just sent me the beat. I didn’t know what the f*ck the song was!

J Cole went on, breaking down his verse and admitting that he threw some jabs at the Chicago rapper. “The world has never known that,” he said. “Those were direct shots [at Kanye] because days prior I had seen the n***a be like, ‘Ah, we might put him on a G.O.O.D. Friday song or something.’ […] And those are shots I know only [Kanye] would feel.”

Steve Lacy Gleefully Trolls Drake After Rapper Calls Him A “Fragile Opp”

Drake’s recent appearance on xQc’s stream – during which he seemed to respond to Kendrick Lamar, his new album GNX, and much more beef-related stuff – was a pretty fun one overall. It was just two guys hanging around and talking with fans, so when things turned more combative sometimes, it was hard for some folks to take them super seriously… Including Steve Lacy. The 6ix God called the singer and guitarist a “fragile opp” while giving praise to his hit “Bad Habit.” In response, The Internet’s Lacy took to Instagram to post various responses to the diss, including one meme that read, “who tryna be my… fragile opp.”

You may be asking why in the world Drake would have a problem with Steve Lacy, but there’s a very simple answer: he’s from Compton. He attended Kendrick Lamar’s “Pop Out” concert on Juneteenth this year, appeared in the “Not Like Us” music video, and has had a good working relationship with Kendrick in the public eye since 2017 with their DAMN. collab, “PRIDE.” As for K.Dot, he also seemed to respond to Drizzy’s words on xQC’s stream, and he was also quite amused.

Steve Lacy Laughs At Drake’s Jabs

As for what Steve Lacy and Kendrick Lamar could get up to in the future, the former actually teased a collab for his upcoming album. “I’m moved by what’s weird,” Lacy told Fantastic Man about what are the types of artists that he wants to collaborate with. “It’s almost like I hear them, and I think, I need to call this person. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t want a Kendrick verse. […] I don’t feel tough,” he said of being at “The Pop Out.” “We were at the run-through, and I was, like, ‘How am I here?’ But I was so honored.. I thought I would never be in the conversation. It was cool.”

We will see in due time whether or not Drake, Kendrick Lamar, or Steve Lacy will continue to address this battle or if they will move past it eventually. We hope that’s the case, because so much beef can’t be good for your health.

Lil Wayne Warns He Will “Destroy If Disturbed” After Kendrick Lamar’s “GNX” Lyric

Lil Wayne seemingly responded to Kendrick Lamar mentioning him on his new album, GNX, by asking for peace but warning, “I shall destroy if disturbed.” Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Wayne wrote without mentioning Lamar by name: “Man wtf I do?! I just be chillin & dey still kome 4 my head. Let’s not take kindness for weakness. Let this giant sleep. I beg u all. No one really wants destruction, not even me but I shall destroy if disturbed. On me. Love.”

As for Lamar’s mention of Wayne, he rapped on the track, “wacced out murals”: “I used to bump ‘Tha Carter 3’, I held my Rollie chain proud. Irony, I think my hard work let Lil Wayne down… Got the Super Bowl and Nas the only one congratulate me, all these n****s agitated I’m just glad it’s on they faces.” The lyrics come after the NFL chose Lamar as the headliner to the upcoming Super Bowl Halftime Show over Lil Wayne.

Wayne felt that with his hometown of New Orleans hosting the game, the league should’ve selected him as the performer. Reflecting on their decision at his recent Lil Weezyana Festival, he told his fans: “I said to myself, ‘I want to be onstage for the Super Bowl one day, in front of my mom.’ And I worked my a** off to get that f**kin’ position. It was ripped away from me. But this moment right here — they can’t take that away from me.”

Lil Wayne Seemingly Addresses Kendrick Lamar

Lamar dropped GNX by surprise on Friday afternoon as his sixth studio album. It features appearances from AzChike, Deyra Barrera, Dody6, Hitta J3, Ink, Peysoh, Roddy Ricch, Sam Dew, Siete, SZA, Wallie the Sensei, and YoungThreat. Future Reveals Why Kendrick Lamar’s “Like That” Verse Frustrated Him

Future has had quite a year. He dropped three stellar albums in ten months, two of which were made in collaboration with Metro Boomin. The duo will be featured in an upcoming GQ interview to discuss their historic output. There were candid discussions about the process of creating together, but the biggest takeaway from the interview was the way Future’s felt toward Kendrick Lamar. Dot’s verse on “Like That” catapulted the song to number one, but Pluto felt he was slighted by a verse that openly dissed Drake and J. Cole.

It may sound like an odd reason to be angry, but Future remains steadfast. He ultimately felt that K. Dot excluded him from discussion of the “Big Three” on his own song. “He said ‘Big Three’ on my song,” the rapper noted. “I’m supposed to be the one who gets mad; I’m still confused about that.” Future was also frustrated by the fact that nobody, peers or fans, asked how he felt about being excluded from the “Big Three” discussion. He perceived this, in some ways, as being more offensive that the direct disses that Drake and Cole received. “Nobody cares about what I think,” Future added. “That’s what was so f*cked up about the sh*t.”

Future Is Still “Confused” About His Big Three Exclusion

https://twitter.com/Kurrco/status/1859380629030257043

Future holds Kendrick Lamar responsible for not taking him seriously on his own song. He points to the other so-called members of the “Big Three,” however, when it came to their responses. Future believed he had far more reason to be offended by Dot’s verse than Drizzy or Cole. “I ain’t part of this Big Three, I’m nobody on my song, man,” he told GQ. “If I didn’t get mad, nobody should have gotten mad! Like, why is everybody mad when he was talking about me on my song?” The part of the interview that has confused most fans, though, is when Future claimed to be unaware of the brewing “Big Three” beef.

The rapper claimed to be out of the loop on the tension brewing between Kendrick Lamar, Drake and J. Cole. “There was a beef?,” he recalled thinking. “I didn’t even know there was a beef. I didn’t even know they had nothing going on. Ain’t never participated in rap battles, man…” Fans have noted that there was already tension between Future, Metro Boomin and Drake, so the notion of Pluto being blind to what was going on prior to “Like That” is a bit convenient. Either way, it sounds like the fallout from the beef, and K. Dot’s verse, is still being felt.

Offset & Lil Baby’s Rumored Instagram Disses Debunked

Offset and Lil Baby reportedly didn’t intend to diss one another with their recent posts on their respective Instagram Stories. On late Friday night, Baby posted a selfie with the caption: “F*ck you 2x.” Two hours later, Offset posted a selfie of himself flipping off the camera with the caption: “Do sum.” Seeing as the two haven’t always been on the best of terms, fans quickly assumed they were dissing each other.

“I thought lil baby and offset was gon stop the beef but I see not,” one user on X (formerly Twitter) wrote in response to the posts on Saturday. Another asked: “Why offset & lil baby beefin?” with several laughing emojis. Rumors of an alleged rift between Baby and the members of the Migos have circulated for years at this point.
