Detroit Rapper Crème Serving Prison Time For Stealing Millions Via Tax Fraud

Detroit artist Crème of the rap duo Deuces Wild is serving time in prison after stealing millions through tax fraud. Moreover, a judge sentenced her to four and a half years behind bars for a tax fraud scheme that involved state agencies and the IRS. Also, they ordered Crème, real name Sameerah Marrell, to pay almost $8 million in restitution. Overall, the rapper stole $8.5 million through a tax fraud scheme, effective from 2014 to the early months of 2022.

Furthermore, the Detroit area artist pleaded guilty to wire fraud, mail fraud, and committing an offense while on bond in January. However, she avoided authorities by refusing to attend a guilty plea hearing in October of 2022. Still, her failure to comply didn’t last long, as officials caught her in Memphis back in December of 2022. Through Crème’s fraudulent system, she and her accomplices targeted both state agencies and the wider Internal Revenue Service. Moreover, the 42-year-old and complicit colleagues filed over 120 false income tax returns for trusts and estates. While this was to try to claim over $13 million from the IRS, the buck didn’t stop there. In addition, they falsified state income tax returns to try to claim over $14 million from Arizona, Colorado, Connecticut, Georgia, Maryland and Minnesota.

Crème Caught For Tax Fraud

“Ms. Marrell committed an astonishing amount of fraud against federal and state agencies,” the IRS said in a press release from official Charles Miller. “She also proved herself incorrigible, continuing her scams even after her initial arrest. We hope that today’s sentence will deter both Ms. Marrell and anyone else who seeks to steal public funds for private gain.”

While Crème launched an insane plan with a broad scope, all roads led to her eventual arrest given the staggering amount of fraud. Moreover, she must serve three years on supervised release after she completes her prison sentence. Meanwhile, she actually caught at least a bit of neutral news from the sentence. For example, the court slightly reduced her restitution based on cars, money, and jewelry seized by the government during the investigation. At least it’s not cash upfront. Regardless, come back to HNHH for more wild stories and occurrences in the rap game.

Three Local Detroit Rappers Go Missing After Their Concert is Canceled

Three Local Detroit Rappers Go Missing After Their Concert is Canceled

Members of Michigan authorities are investigating three local rappers who went missing after a canceled show.

CNN notes the three rappers are Armani Kelly, 28, Dante Wicker, 31, and Montoya Givens, 31. The three men are associated with each other and were supposed to perform at a club in Detroit. All three of the men’s phones stopped activity.

“It’s our understanding that the performance got canceled, and from there – we just have a whole lot of unanswered questions that we are trying to find out,” Detroit police commander of major crimes Michael McGinnis said. “The mother of one of the victims, the next day, made a report of the missing person. That mother became very proactive in the investigation and started searching for her vehicle through OnStar.”

Authorities recovered her car in Warren, Michigan.

“We need help,” McGinnis said. “If somebody knows something, we’re asking please call and share that information with us.”

Mozzy & Baby Money Connect On “Every Night”

Despite his incarceration, Mozzy continues to make his presence felt. This time, he connects with one of Detroit’s most promising new acts to deliver a banger.

Mozzy and Baby Money came through with their new collaboration, “Every Night.” Mozzy remains a musical chameleon that can tackle ain’t type of production without veering away from his M.O. Hardknock, Dave-O, and Zuri hold down the production – a chilling soundscape that eases into the icy atmosphere of Detroit’s regional sound. Mozzy takes on the production, detailing the struggles he faced coming up while acknowledging his growth and evolution as a result of the hardships. “Can’t learn this shit in school, it’s from experience in these streets,” he raps.

Baby Money pairs perfectly with the Survivor’s Guilt rapper on the record. His delivery is direct and concise with details of vengeance and loyalty.

The song arrived alongside a music video, which the two shot prior to Mozzy’s incarceration. It’s a straightforward visual that showcases the two inside a jewelry store, performing their verses while posted up with their friends.

In late July, Mozzy turned himself in to serve a 1-year sentence. The rapper began his sentence for a federal gun charge after police discovered a firearm during a traffic stop. The sentence couldn’t have come at a worse time. Following the momentum he built in the years prior, he had just landed a deal with Yo Gotti’s CMG. Hopefully, he’ll be home soon and return to releasing music.

Quotable Lyrics
We FaceTimin’ at the game, bitch the gang made
They saw the flames but they got whacked the same day
This is every night, 50 the first spin, 60 out this TEC
I know they dead, fuck twice, we gon’ triple back

[WATCH] Detroit Family Stomps Lip Off Of Alleged Pedophile

Screen Shot 2023 01 08 at 10.58.10 AM

Neighbors and onlookers recorded the bloody aftermath of a man who was severely beaten after allegedly sexually assaulting a teenager.

“Absolutely tragic. It really is,” said Capt. Rebecca Hall, Detroit police. “It is in affecting a young life, a family, and it’s going to definitely take time to heal.”

McKay says officers took the suspect into custody Tuesday night. Although police would not confirm it, neighbors who witnessed the beating and those in the video, say that the suspect knows the victim.

“It’s sad, and it just hurt me so bad,” Carmen Witherspoon said. “And it broke me down that a man would do that.”

Witherspoon saw the man beaten up after the alleged sexual assault. She heard the commotion outside of her home in northwest Detroit Tuesday night and opened her front door to see the child rape suspect practically naked, surrounded by the victim’s furious relatives.

“They beat him over there real good,” she said. “He was on the ground. He managed to get up and he ran across the street, and he was on my property. He fell, he slipped, and fell. And that’s when they beat him some more.”

“He was bloody, nothing but blood, there was a puddle on the ground,” said one witness.

“From what I heard, they stomped his top lip off,” said Marc D’ Andre, 7 Mile Radio News. “His mouth appeared to be very bloody and it was just like he was in an MMA fight.”

D’Andre, the founder of 7 Mile Radio, provided FOX 2 with video. The victim’s relatives reportedly confronted the suspect after he allegedly raped the teen. They chased him around the neighborhood and dispensed their own justice once they caught up with him.

“I’m not mad at the way that it happened,” he said. “Whether it be swift street justice or through the court systems or jail systems, I think we need to raise awareness about this type of situation because too often it gets swept under the rug, and we have a lot of victims – both girls and boys.”

Baby Money Drops New Song & Video, “American Gangsta”

Detroit’s Baby Money is one of the hottest rappers in his city right now. As he continues his hot streak, he returned on Thursday (December 22) to drop off yet another certified banger.

The music video arrived on Tuesday (December 20), a couple days before the song officially landed on streaming platforms.

Complete with knocking 808s, the fast-paced beat provides Money with a fitting soundscape for him to tell stories of his come-up and time spent in the streets. “Elevator in the trenches, tell them boys I’m movin’ up / Poured a tsunami at yo’ hood, n****s ’round there wet as f*ck,” he raps with a vengeance.

The new single caps off the most successful year of the 24-year-old’s career thus far. In January, Money signed with Quality Control Music and subsequently released “Long Time Coming” in celebration.

The signing is a result of years of hard work and dedication to improving his craft. He’s been rapping since he was only 12 years old and has steadily been working toward being one of the most promising rappers in the game.

His first album of 2022 and debut with his new label, arrived in February with the release of Easy Money. This was backed by a remix of one of his most successful songs, “Moncler Bubble” with fellow Detroit natives Babyface Ray and Peezy.

In September, he dropped his second project of the year in New Money, a 16-track album boasting features from the likes of Jeezy, Mozzy, GT and Tay B. We will certainly be tuned in to see what Money comes with next.

Make sure to stream Baby Money’s “American Gangsta” single on Spotify or Apple Music down below. Make sure to leave a comment about what you think of the new track afterwards.

Quotable Lyrics:

N***a, my hustle got me up, a million not enough
They ain’t livin’ what they rappin’, b*tch, I’m callin’ n****s bluff
Soon as I made it to the top, I started pullin’ n****s up
Gon’ be the last thing you see, is brodie pull up in that truck
