Drake will stop at nothing to ensure his fans get the ultimate show. That includes spending $230,000 extra to provide a full experience.

The Boy was in Detroit and performed 23 minutes past curfew. That extra run costs $10,000 a minute, resulting in a bill of $230,000.

“It’s $10,000 a minute to stay in this building past curfew,” Drake said in a video online. “I don’t give a fuck. We’re doing this whole song, let’s go.”

Drake Drops $10K A Minute After Performing Over Detroit Curfew: Report

Drake knows how to put on a show and he won’t let exterior factors, such as a curfew, from providing his fans with an incredible performance. With the launch of the It’s All A Blur tour, the Canadian rapper made a stop in Detroit for the second city on his North American run. While he and 21 Savage stunned the audience with performances of fan favorites, it appears as though they were running over time for whatever reason. Still, Drizzy ensured that his fans got their money worth, especially after shelling out hundreds of dollars to see him perform.

Just when Drake and 21 Savage got into the thick of their set together in Detroit, the “Search & Rescue” star confirmed that they went over the time restrictions. In fact, he revealed that it costs roughly $10,000 per minute beyond the city’s curfew. Still, the rapper didn’t sweat and opted to pay the fine rather than cut the performance short for his fans. According to All Hip Hop, Drake ultimately racked up a 6-figure fine.

Drake Exceeds Detroit Curfew

As the rapper stood in front of the audience in a red apron, alongside 21, he made it clear that the reported $230K fine that he had to cough up was pocket change to him. “It’s $10,000 a minute to stay in this building past curfew,” he told the audience. “I don’t give a f***. We’re doing this whole song, let’s go,” he added to a sea of applause from his Detroit fans. Concertgoers claimed that Drake performed for roughly 23 minutes after the curfew, which would amount to nearly a quarter of a million dollars.

Clearly, Drake’s love for Detroit is strong. The Canadian rapper’s performance in Motor City included a few updates on his forthcoming album, For All The Dogs. Drake confirmed a collaboration with Nicki Minaj would appear on the tracklist and he revealed that the project is currently in the mixing stages. Although it’s not clear when the project might hit DSPs, it seems as though Drake is still putting in work while he’s on the road.

Drake Dodges Fans’ Bras, Shoes, & More On Stage In Detroit

Fans at Drake’s latest stop on the It’s All a Blur Tour pelted the rapper with bras, shoes, and other personal belongings while on stage. The Toronto rapper was performing at Little Caesars Area in Detroit on both Saturday (July 8) and Sunday (July 9).

“Oh shit!” he said when one item flew at him. “This not what we wanna see, a big-ass shoe. This what I need you to do, Detroit, this what I need to you do, please, for me. I’m so grateful to be back in this building with you after all this time that we had to sit in the crib, right? Please stop throwing bras up here, I can’t — I feel like I’m on clean-up duty tonight… titty clean-up duty. This is cr*zy.”

It’s not the first time Drake has dealt with fans bombarding him with bras. In Chicago, last week, he deal with the same issue. “Oh yeah, this is definitely how I like it right here,” he said while inspecting one of the undergarments at the time. “Damn, shit. Some knocks — who’s is this by the way? This yours? 38DD, never let me down before. Nasty. Let’s see what we working with. Who threw this? That’s you. It looks like you threw this — 36DD — some knocks, I’m not gonna lie. By the way, we don’t discriminate, though. Shout out to the girls with the small titties. Shoutout to the girls with little booties, big booties, you know? All races, all faces, all places. Thank you. Yeah, this is worth it. It’s like eating in.”

Flavor Flav Rocks Out At Taylor Swift’s “Eras” Tour

Flavor Flav recently took to social media to share some clips of him attending Taylor Swift’s “Eras” tour stop in Detroit. He sings along and dances to her performance, even quoting her lyrics in his caption. The rapper also shared a clip of him posing with various young fans at the event.

It’s no secret that Flavor Flav is a Swiftie. In March, he arrived to the 2023 iHeartRadio Music Awards wearing her merch. He then showed off his shirt, which featured lyrics from her song “Willow.” “Always love Taylor Swift’s music,” he said, “I’m here to support her! I’m here to support my girl.” He went on to sing a play on Swift’s “Bad Blood.” “‘Good blood!’ I ain’t got no bad blood today! I got the good blood, you know what I’m saying! Word up! But yeah, I wanna meet her, too. One day,” he claims. Later, his dreams came true and he posed for selfies with the pop star at the event.

Flavor Flav Flexes Taylor Swift Merch

Though the Public Enemy rapper’s love for Swift may come as somewhat of a shock, she’s recently done a bit of a crossover herself. She collaborated with Bronx rapper Ice Spice to drop “Karma (Remix)” in May, which turned out to be a massive success. Ice Spice made an appearance at one of her tour stops, and it even allowed the young rapper to break a streaming record. Despite the song’s success, many Ice Spice fans felt as though there were ulterior motives behind the collab.

Flavor Flav isn’t the only unexpected Swiftie. Last month, rapper Moneybagg Yo pushed back the release date of his album Hard To Love in honor of Swift. “I just got the news my little baby Taylor dropping tonight. I ain’t gonna lie, y’all know how I feel about Taylor, man,” the rapper shared. He went on to say, “So I think I’m gonna push Hard To Love back just a few days, y’all be patient with me. Let Taylor have this sh*t.”

It’s undoubtedly the most anticipated tour of the year as the two rappers hit the road in support of Her Loss. It marks Drake’s first tour since 2018’s Aubrey & The Three Migos with Migos. Within that time, he released four projects, including Certified Lover Boy and Honestly, Nevermind. Needless to say, fans can’t wait to hear some of their favorite records from Drake performed live.

Drake’s tour kicks off on June 29th, 2023 in Memphis. On July 8th and 9th, Drake and 21 Savage will host back-to-back shows at Detroit’s Little Caesar’s Arena – home to the Pistons and Red Wings. Below, we’ve broke down everything you need to know about his upcoming Memphis concert.

Who Will Perform With Drake In Detroit?

21 Savage will be co-headlining the It’s All A Blur 2023 tour with Drake, so expect to see the Her Loss collaborators on stage together all summer long. However, Detroit is home to many incredible artists, so perhaps, it wouldn’t be shocking to see a few of them join Drake on stage. Though nothing has been confirmed, we suspect artists like Eminem, Tee Grizzley, and even Peezy could come out to perform on either night of the Detroit tour stop.

Dej Loaf Shares A Hug With Lil Wayne On Stage: Watch

Dej Loaf recently shared a sweet moment on stage with one of hip-hop’s biggest stars. The Detroit native first began making music in 2011. Subsequently, she released her first mixtape, titled Just Do It a year later. Additionally, her talent eventually caught the eye of fellow Detroit rapper SAYITAINTTONE, who helped put her on. Subsequently, Dej’s song “Try Me” went viral in 2014. Dej would go on to find further commercial success in 2015 with her EP And See That’s The Thing. Unfortunately, Dej’s talent has often been overlooked. However, those in the know recognize her as one of rap’s most unique voices. Among her many admirers is rap legend Lil Wayne.

2Cool2Blog recently posted a video of Dej performing at a concert. In the video Lil Wayne appears on stage and the pair embrace. Wayne and Dej are not strangers to each other. Weezy made an appearance on Dej’s song “Me U and Hennessy” back in 2017. Moreover, Dej has noted that Wayne is one of her inspirations as an artist. It is remarkable how quickly Dej rose through the ranks in the industry. The “Back Up” artist went from relative obscurity to working with hip-hop’s A-list in just a few years. Indeed, her meteoric rise is considered by many to be one best stories in the industry over the past decade.

Dej Loaf Has Often Been Overlooked

Furthermore, Dej would go on to have a romantic relationship with another hip-hop mainstay. It was announced in 2015 that Dej was dating Chicago artist Lil Durk. However the couple would call it quits around a year later. Meanwhile, Dej’s popularity eventually began to take a dip. But this has little to do with her talent on the mic. Instead, her decline in the public imagination had more to do with her personality. Regarded by many as shy and reclusive, Dej began to lose ground to the industry’s more eccentric female rappers. However, the 32-year-old has remained busy. She released a new single, “Harpo! (Who Dis Woman)” last November.

Moreover, fans will be hoping that the music along with Lil Wayne’s cosign can help get Dej back in the limelight. Meanwhile, Wayne himself has also been keeping busy. The Louisiana native kicked of his Welcome To Tha Carter tour just last week. Additionally, Wayne is also slated to appear on Swizz BeatzHip Hop 50: Vol. 2. album. It will be interesting to see how both Wayne and Dej get on going forward.

Detroit Rapper Crème Serving Prison Time For Stealing Millions Via Tax Fraud

Detroit artist Crème of the rap duo Deuces Wild is serving time in prison after stealing millions through tax fraud. Moreover, a judge sentenced her to four and a half years behind bars for a tax fraud scheme that involved state agencies and the IRS. Also, they ordered Crème, real name Sameerah Marrell, to pay almost $8 million in restitution. Overall, the rapper stole $8.5 million through a tax fraud scheme, effective from 2014 to the early months of 2022.

Furthermore, the Detroit area artist pleaded guilty to wire fraud, mail fraud, and committing an offense while on bond in January. However, she avoided authorities by refusing to attend a guilty plea hearing in October of 2022. Still, her failure to comply didn’t last long, as officials caught her in Memphis back in December of 2022. Through Crème’s fraudulent system, she and her accomplices targeted both state agencies and the wider Internal Revenue Service. Moreover, the 42-year-old and complicit colleagues filed over 120 false income tax returns for trusts and estates. While this was to try to claim over $13 million from the IRS, the buck didn’t stop there. In addition, they falsified state income tax returns to try to claim over $14 million from Arizona, Colorado, Connecticut, Georgia, Maryland and Minnesota.

Crème Caught For Tax Fraud

“Ms. Marrell committed an astonishing amount of fraud against federal and state agencies,” the IRS said in a press release from official Charles Miller. “She also proved herself incorrigible, continuing her scams even after her initial arrest. We hope that today’s sentence will deter both Ms. Marrell and anyone else who seeks to steal public funds for private gain.”

While Crème launched an insane plan with a broad scope, all roads led to her eventual arrest given the staggering amount of fraud. Moreover, she must serve three years on supervised release after she completes her prison sentence. Meanwhile, she actually caught at least a bit of neutral news from the sentence. For example, the court slightly reduced her restitution based on cars, money, and jewelry seized by the government during the investigation. At least it’s not cash upfront. Regardless, come back to HNHH for more wild stories and occurrences in the rap game.
