Get Ready to Shine: Beyoncé’s Renaissance Tour Goes Cinematic

beyonce 2

Beyoncé, the music sensation, is bringing her epic world tour to the big screen at AMC Theatres!

Beyoncé’s Renaissance World Tour is set to make a cinematic splash, and fans are in for a treat. Reports suggest that the music icon is finalizing a deal to bring her globally acclaimed tour to the silver screen through none other than AMC Theatres. The news was first reported by Variety.

What has the BeyHive buzzing is the behind-the-scenes look at Beyoncé’s mind-blowing Renaissance tour performances. On her birthday, Queen Bey issued a unique request to her fans: dress in chrome-shimmering silver. The invitation was accepted, and hundreds of thousands of concertgoers transformed into a “shimmering human disco ball.”

The tour itself stands as a testament to Beyoncé’s unmatched prowess, ranking as her highest-grossing journey to date. Hollywood’s top agency, CAA, is managing the negotiations, and there’s fierce competition to collaborate with the superstar.

The cherry on top is the rumored incorporation of visuals from Beyoncé’s Renaissance album. While she teased music video-style content when the album dropped, the full visuals remained under wraps.

Securing tickets for the Renaissance World Tour was no easy feat, given the overwhelming demand. Now, it’s turning into a must-see movie. Insiders are hinting that the movie could hit theaters around December 1.

There’s also speculation that the movie might be a secret project Beyoncé worked on with director Nadia Lee Cohen. Cohen has previously directed Beyoncé’s music videos for “Formation,” “Sorry,” and “Hold Up.”

Fans are eagerly awaiting the release of the movie, which promises to be a cinematic celebration of Beyoncé’s artistry and mastery of live performance.

We’ll keep you updated on the latest news about the Beyoncé Renaissance World Tour movie, so be sure to check back soon!

Erykah Badu Shows Off “Strawberry” Butt During Tour

If you want to know how Erykah Badu is doing, her Instagram mid-tour recap is all you need to see. The rapper posted a collection of photos to social media yesterday, all coming from her Unfollow Me Tour that she’s smack-dab in the middle of performing. Her first two pics? One is of her derriere under a shirt that says “HELMET,” pink sheer shoulder covers, and unique leggings. The other is a strawberry with a striking resemblance to Erykah Badu’s butt.

The rest of the photo dump — which you can see below — shows Badu on stage, living the tour life, soaking in the adoration from thousands of screaming fans. At the halfway point, while Erykah is being reflective, she seems ready to keep the show on the road. She picks back up on July 7th at TD Arena in Boston, MA. She ends on July 23 at another basketball arena, the American Airlines Center in Dallas, TX.

How Erykah Badu’s Tour Is Going

Erykah has been setting the stage on fire recently. And while some fans have been rude to her, leaving the show early while she’s still singing, the tour has been a huge success. As she’s said in the past, the naming of the tour — “Unfollow Me” — definitely has to do with cancel culture. Via a VIBE interview, she wants to be herself, plain and simple, and if people don’t like what she has to say, “I don’t care, unfollow me, doesn’t matter.”

Erykah Badu wants to remind herself to drink from her own cup, not to harsh anybody else’s vibe. This tour signifies a return to her true self, something she’s thankful for. After the tour concludes, Badu is turning to the film industry, making a cameo appearance in a Netflix Broadway play adaptation. August Wilson’s The Piano Lesson stars Samuel L. Jackson and John David Washington, with Badu as a yet-to-be-named character. Whoever she plays, that character will have a fruity booty (if the strawberry has anything to say about it).

Warren G Reflects On Performing With Dr. Dre & Snoop Dogg On The “Up In Smoke” Tour

Warren G recently reflected on performing during the Up In Smoke tour in 2000 alongside Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre. He discussed the star-studded concert while walking the red carpet at the 2023 BET Awards with HipHopDX, earlier this month.

“We was high the entire tour,” he told the outlet. “Best memory ever. One of the best memories I have was when we was in Miami. Dre rented the whole club, and we had a ball. We had been working and working and working. So we just had a chance to relax for the day. He just rented the club and we had a ball. I can’t go no further than that.”

Warren G has been close with Snoop Dogg for decades having formed the hip-hop trio 213 together with Nate Dogg in the 1990s. Back in April, he recalled Snoop standing up for him while discussing his relationship with Suge Knight. “Snoop told Suge: ‘You could have had Warren G. You let Warren G go.’ Them n****s was trippin’,” Warren told host Ray Daniels on The Gauds Show. “And I was trippin’ too! It wasn’t like I’ma let you n****s just come and try to get off on me or try to do whatever y’all do. N***a I got Regulators! I didn’t want it to be like that. And I still be saying Suge is a good dude. He was a good dude, it’s just that when all the money shit started kicking in, all that other shit started kicking in, the Hollywood shit started kicking in, that’s when he changed.”

Gorillaz Cancel Their September U.S. Tour

Alternative rock group Gorillaz has been enjoying continued success since the release of their eighth studio album, Cracker Island. Unfortunately, they are canceling their upcoming September 2023 U.S. tour. Citing “scheduling conflicts,” the band, comprised of musician Damon Albarn and visual artist Jamie Hewlett, is no longer coming stateside. The tour was going to highlight Cracker Island at a few U.S. venues. They announced the concerts only a few weeks ago. Now, they’re pulling the plug.

Gorillaz is refunding their fans for the shows, which were going to feature plenty of collaborations. Some of the performers who were going to join included Lil Yachty, Kaytranada, and Remi Wolfe. Back in April, at Coachella, the band was on stage with Bad Bunny and De La Soul, among others. The U.S. venues included arenas in Los Angeles, Boston, Chicago, and Austin, TX. Sadly, they will play at zero of those venues for the time being.

Gorillaz World Tour and What’s Next

Back in 2022, Gorillaz went on a massive World Tour where they debuted plenty of new material from what would end up being the tracklist of Cracker Island. For that tour, they traveled to South America, Europe, Australia, and North America. However, they ran into show cancelations on that tour as well. A scheduled performance in Queensland, Australia, was shut down due to torrential rain. In February of this year, they released a deluxe version of Cracker Island, adding five bonus tracks.

Unluckily, Gorillaz knows plenty about canceling promising projects. Earlier this year, the band paired up with Netflix to produce a movie Albarn and Hewlett had been conceptualizing for a long time. However, due to cutbacks in Netflix’s animation department, the streaming giant scrapped the film. A victim of streaming content saturation, Gorillaz shelved the movie indefinitely. Hopefully, the band can get back out there soon. Perhaps they’ll find another time to grace America with their unique sound in front of thousands of people.

Babyface has released a statement responding to Anita Baker removing him from her ongoing The Songstress Tour. The decision was made after Babyface’s fans allegedly bullied Baker on Twitter for cutting the singer’s set from her tour stop at the Prudential Center in May. Technical difficulties caused the show to be shortened.

He further added: “It’s unfortunate and disheartening to see how things have played out via social media. Chance recently reflected on the 10-year anniversary of Acid Rap during an interview with Complex. He told the outlet that he “probably would have died” had he continued using drugs the way he was when the mixtape came out. “The way that I was living at that time. I had everything in excess,” he explained. “Right after I dropped the project, I went on a few tours where I really didn’t make any money. Then I went on my first tour, my headlining tour, where I made some money. I went and rented a crib. This is my first time living outside of my parents’ house in another city and having money and doing a lot of drugs. A lot, a lot, a lot of drugs.”

Acid Rap is widely considered one of the best mixtapes of the 2010s and launched Chance into mainstream stardom. The project has reached “diamond” status on Datpiff for garnering over 1,000,000 downloads. In addition to “Juice,” the tracklist features “Cocoa Butter Kisses,” with Vic Mensa and Twista, “Favorite Song,” with Childish Gambino, and more.
