Jennifer Lopez Cancels Several Tour Dates, Reports Indicate Low Ticket Sales

Jennifer Lopez hit a speed bump on her upcoming North American tour, her first in five years, in support of her new album This Is Me… Now. Moreover, she and her team canceled seven shows from August 20 to 31 in Cleveland (August 20), Nashville (22), Raleigh (24), Atlanta (25), Tampa (27), New Orleans (30), and Houston (31). Ticketmaster indicated these changes, and seating charts for these shows are apparently still available at press time. As such, reports from other outlets name low ticket sales as the reason for this change, but that is impossible to confirm without a statement from the singer or her team.

For those unaware, Jennifer Lopez’s new album was part of a larger multi-media rollout, which she reportedly funded entirely by herself. Furthermore, two visual projects were also a part of this last month: a musical film titled This Is Me… Now: A Love Story and The Greatest Love Story Never Told, a documentary on this album and project centered around her romantic rekindling with Ben Affleck. “Everybody thought I was cr*zy. And by the way, I thought I was cr*zy,” the New York City native recently told Variety during an interview. Whether you think that applies to her relationship or her career moves, she’s ready to take it all on.

Jennifer Lopez Cancels Tour Dates: Report

Still, seeing these canceled Jennifer Lopez tour dates is quite disappointing for fans, although second nights in Miami (June 29), Toronto (August 3), and New York (August 17) were added per a Live Nation announcement on Thursday (March 14). In addition, sources reportedly told Billboard that the canceled dates were due to routing issues, but that they added new dates and will announce them soon. It’s unclear if these new dates for the “Can’t Get Enough” superstar are the new Miami, Toronto, and New York dates or if the new dates will address the canceled shows themselves. We’ll have to wait and see.

Meanwhile, even though not everyone loved the aforementioned single “Can’t Get Enough” with Latto, it’s still great to see the 54-year-old develop her career more and keep playing in the game. After all, superstardom and talent don’t go away easy. Let’s just hope that the rest of the tour goes swimmingly as planned. Peso Pluma Forced To Cancel Tijuana Show After Cartel Makes Death Threats

Regional Mexican singer Peso Pluma has had a massive breakout 2023. The singer rose rapidly to incredible fame this year following numerous high-profile collaborations. He’s had numerous songs on the Hot 100 each week dating back to early this year. Pluma’s style of music is often described as corridos tumbados which evokes drug-trade lyrics and thematic content. He famously has numerous songs dedicated to legendary drug lord El Chapo. Now, his chosen style is making it more difficult for him to tour.

Earlier this week, a number of banners were posted in various towns making death threats at Peso Pluma if he chose to perform there. “This is for you, Peso Pluma. Refrain from appearing this October 14. Because it will be your last presentation,” a banner posted in Tijuana translated to. Subsequently, Pluma is clearly taking the threats seriously as he’s announced a series of concert cancelations, including his planned Tijuana show. His label made the official announcement, which reads “Our goal is to protect the fans and the team. For the safety of everyone involved, we will cancel our show in Tijuana.”

Gorillaz Cancel Their September U.S. Tour

Alternative rock group Gorillaz has been enjoying continued success since the release of their eighth studio album, Cracker Island. Unfortunately, they are canceling their upcoming September 2023 U.S. tour. Citing “scheduling conflicts,” the band, comprised of musician Damon Albarn and visual artist Jamie Hewlett, is no longer coming stateside. The tour was going to highlight Cracker Island at a few U.S. venues. They announced the concerts only a few weeks ago. Now, they’re pulling the plug.

Gorillaz is refunding their fans for the shows, which were going to feature plenty of collaborations. Some of the performers who were going to join included Lil Yachty, Kaytranada, and Remi Wolfe. Back in April, at Coachella, the band was on stage with Bad Bunny and De La Soul, among others. The U.S. venues included arenas in Los Angeles, Boston, Chicago, and Austin, TX. Sadly, they will play at zero of those venues for the time being.

Gorillaz World Tour and What’s Next

Back in 2022, Gorillaz went on a massive World Tour where they debuted plenty of new material from what would end up being the tracklist of Cracker Island. For that tour, they traveled to South America, Europe, Australia, and North America. However, they ran into show cancelations on that tour as well. A scheduled performance in Queensland, Australia, was shut down due to torrential rain. In February of this year, they released a deluxe version of Cracker Island, adding five bonus tracks.

Unluckily, Gorillaz knows plenty about canceling promising projects. Earlier this year, the band paired up with Netflix to produce a movie Albarn and Hewlett had been conceptualizing for a long time. However, due to cutbacks in Netflix’s animation department, the streaming giant scrapped the film. A victim of streaming content saturation, Gorillaz shelved the movie indefinitely. Hopefully, the band can get back out there soon. Perhaps they’ll find another time to grace America with their unique sound in front of thousands of people.

Dionne Warwick Cancels Shows Because Of “Medical Incident”

Dionne Warwick has canceled several upcoming performances due to a “medical incident.” Concertgoers will be issued refunds for tickets for shows scheduled June 22-24. The 82-year-old R&B/soul legend is said to be recovering from a “minor medical incident” according to Entertainment Tonight. As such, her planned show at the Rivers Casino Des Plaines near Chicago will not proceed as scheduled. It was supposed to take place next weekend. Future dates in New York and Delaware in July have not yet been fully addressed. ET also said that the legendary artist is “on the mend.”

In recent years, Warwick has experienced a resurgence of interest. This is largely due to her humorous and charming presence on Twitter. Her witty commentary on various topics has endeared her to younger fans. Warwick has shown admiration for Taylor Swift. She has made playful jabs at The Weeknd and Chance The Rapper’s stage names. The legend has also expressed a hilarious lack of familiarity with Billie Eilish. This has led young fans to explore her timeless music. Her catalogue includes Grammy Hall of Fame hits like “Alfie,” “Don’t Make Me Over,” and “Walk On By.”

Dionne Warwick Is The Fun Twitter Auntie We All Need

Dionne Warwick may be a music legend, but she also has a hilariously fierce attitude online. Back when Wendy Williams was still on the air, the legend even called her out by name on Twitter. “A friend alerted me that Wendy Williams was spending a lot of not nice time speaking on me,” Warwick tweeted. “I tuned in to her show to catch the last few minutes of her speaking about me and as in the past, she seems not to be able to speak without maliciously made comments.” Warwick had some advice for Wendy, however: “There’s an old saying you can catch more flies with honey than with vinegar!”

Embracing her reputation as a classic jokester, Warwick has also playfully joked about becoming Twitter’s new CEO. She even followed up on a collaboration with Chance The Rapper. Her Twitter is really a goldmine of hilarity and sass. However, there is one topic she prefers not to address: the recent feud between fellow R&B pioneer Anita Baker and former tour opener Babyface. When asked by Lil Duval to intervene and resolve the conflict, Warwick responded with a dismissive tone. “Baby, that ain’t got nothing to do with me,” she said. Stay tuned to HNHH for the latest updates.
