Did Drake Diss Soulja Boy On New Lil Yachty Collaboration?

Drake teamed up with Lil Yachty for a new unreleased collaboration tentatively titled, “Super Soak,” on which he possibly fired back at Soulja Boy for his recent posts on social media. Kai Cenat premiered the song during a live stream on Tuesday night. On the song, he raps: “I’m watching the moves, playin’ it close / SOD, super soak.” Some fans have been linking the bar to Soulja’s 2007 song, “Super Soak.”

The song premiere comes after Soulja chimed in on Drake and Kendrick Lamar’s recent feud on X (formerly Twitter). “Swag Season July 28 never let a n***a try me like I’m Drake,” Soulja wrote on the platform, earlier this month. “You disappointed me. @Drake.” In a follow-up, he added: “Doing all them weak ass songs with them n****z look where It got u none of them n****z you collab with or took on tour had yo back @Drake.”

It was far from the first time Soulja had been critical of Drizzy. Back in 2019, he went off on the Toronto rapper during an appearance on The Breakfast Club at which point Charlamagne referred to Drake as “the biggest rapper in the world.” Soulja fired back in a video that quickly went viral: “Draaaaakkkkkkeeee?! That n***a who got bodied by Pusha T? Drake?! Y’all n****s better stop playing with me in here. Y’all talking about the light-skinned n***a from [Degrassi]? Stop playing with me like I didn’t teach Drake everything he know.”

Erica Banks & Big Boogie Are Unapologetically Ignorant On “Extra”

Erica Banks might be making more headlines for her controversial cosmetic surgeries and comments, but those ignoring her rap skills are sorely mistaken. The DeSoto, Texas Flow Queen has a knack for penning catchy melodies and lyrics and is one hell of run currently. These last several months especially, she has been doing a lot of her damage over on the YouTube side of things. Whether it be her multitude of freestyles over classic beats or the loosies, each kind of song manages to rake in lots of ears and eyeballs. Some of those releases have trickled over to streaming platforms, including “I Ain’t Fresh” and “ON HIS FACE”. Now Erica Banks has another with “Extra”.

The “Buss It” MC seems to prefer to work alone. But on “Extra”, she is pairing up with one of the many Memphis talents, Big Boogie. This track obviously has a lot of Southern hip-hop and trap elements, especially on the delivery side of things. Both of their deep cadences compliment the thick kicks and bass well as they brag about their lavish lifestyles. Banks and Boogie are totally ignoring the haters on this one too, so this collab simply oozes tons of cockiness. You can check out “Extra” and its music video with the link below.

Sampha Delivers Wonderous “Satellite Business 2.0” Alongside Little Simz

People seem to forget about R&B mastermind Sampha, as well lyricist extraordinaire, Little Simz. Both are residents of London, England and are also extremely underrated. They do not have the flashy draw of their more mainstream contemporaries, but we feel their talent outweighs those that have a bigger following. Sampha and Little Simz are both Picasso’s of the music world, as they are able to paint vivid personal accounts and convey thoughts in a clever way. Take for example their first-ever collaboration together, “Satellite Business 2.0”. If this song title sounds vaguely familiar, that is because it is a title from Sampha’s latest record, Lahai.

The stunning vocalist finally dropped off his sophomore album after pouring in six hard years of work following his debut, Process. The original cut is just “Satellite Business”, and it was more an interlude. While it did sound intriguing, you could tell it was unfinished as it all it really had was a fairly repetitive verse and an outro. Now, on this “2.0” extended version, it becomes a refrain, and the run time grows from 1:24 to 4:53. The theme of the song centers around the meanings of life, its limits, and how he is able to see people, both in the past and present, in his existence. It is a very beautiful and thought-provoking track and Little Simz verse more than enough extra zest to the mix.

Her rhythm coincides perfectly with the dreamy instrumental, as she raps on topic. She talks about how she lives through her mother’s strong work ethic and how trusting in God has helped throughout her musical journey. “Satellite Business 2.0” is inspirational listen in multiple ways. After hearing it, it makes us wonder why this did not make the original album!

Eminem Dedicates Another Touching Track To His Children On Jelly Roll-Assisted “Somebody Save Me”

Eminem’s goal for The Death of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce) was to symbolically close the book on his Slim Shady alter ego. However, the conclusion is not the happy ending listeners may expect. On “Somebody Save Me” featuring Jelly Roll, Eminem raps from the perspective of him succumbing to his addictions and passing away. The Detroit, Michigan native is loosely making a callback to his 2007 overdose that nearly ended his life. Throughout the song, Eminem apologizes profusely for putting his vices (Slim Shady) above his now three kids, Hailie, Alaina, and Stevie, instead of being there for their biggest accomplishments. His children make a lot of appearances in his lyrics as his Stans know and when they do, he tears himself down a lot for not being the best caretaker for them.

The acclaimed MC has also stated this belief numerous times in interviews as well, like the one with Rolling Stone in 2004 via People. “Bein’ a dad is definitely living a double life. Even before Hailie was born, I was a firm believer in freedom of speech… But once I hit them gates where I live, that’s when I’m Dad… I’m not sayin’ I’m the perfect father, but the most important thing is to be there for my kids and raise them the right way”. It is part of the reason why “Somebody Save Me” is such an emotional ride for longtime fans of Eminem and even Jelly Roll. Both have had their respective grizzly bouts with drugs, and hearing the pain in their deliveries makes for a scary and sad what-could-have-been ending in the context of the album, but also in general.

Jae Skeese & Big K.R.I.T. Get “Situated” On New Track With Sauce Walka

These days, Buffalo-born performer Jae Skeese is hard at work, as his upcoming album is on the horizon. The project, titled Ground Level, is currently slated for release on August 16. Marking a pivotal point in his career, the LP will include various high-profile features from the likes of Jay Worthy, Dave East, Project Pat, Smoke DZA, Statik Selektah, and many more. The rapper even teamed up with Big K.R.I.T. and Sauce Walka for a track on the new album, which they unveiled last week. “Situated” features mellow production and high-octane bars about making money, personal evolution, and more. It serves as a solid introduction to the upcoming project, putting Skeese’s lyrical dexterity and laid-back flow on full display.

Ground Level represents my progression from the basement to building upon the foundation I’ve laid over the past three years. This includes my Drumwork debut Abolished Uncertainties (2023) and my collaboration with Conway The Machine, Pain Provided Profit. I’m now exploring how much higher I can climb from this first floor,” Skeese says of the upcoming project.

“The Ground Level mindset is about overcoming challenges and reaching new heights while staying grounded,” he also adds. Grafh Recruits 38 Spesh, Memphis Bleek, Freeway & Peedi Crakk For New Single “Rocafella Chain”

Grafh is currently gearing up to drop his new collaborative album with 38 Spesh, God’s Timing. The project is slated for release on August 2, and fortunately, the Queens rapper recently decided to give fans a taste of what’s to come in the way of a single. On the track, which is titled “Rocafella Chain,” he enlists the help of Memphis Bleek, Freeway, and Peedi Crakk. It features some hard-hitting bars from all of the rappers involved whilst incorporating several nostalgic nods to the iconic label’s heyday. 38 Spesh contributes solid production, creating a track that seamlessly blends both the old and the new.

Listeners are certainly looking forward to hearing what else Grafh and 38 Spesh have up their sleeve on the rest of the album. While God’s Plan is still a couple of weeks away, “Rocafella Chain” is a worthy preview, which will surely keep supporters occupied in the meantime.

Ice Spice’s “Girl’s Girl” Title Gets Revoked By Critics Amid Central Cee Cheating Scandal

Earlier this week, Ice Spice dropped her new single “Did It First” featuring Central Cee, which has since managed to spark some serious drama. Prior to the release, the two rappers were rumored to be dating, as they were spotted together on various occasions. The situation only became more complicated last night, when Central Cee’s former girlfriend Madeline Argy took to social media to speak out.

In a series of TikToks, the internet personality accused the British rapper of cheating on her, claimed he was being manipulated by his PR team, and more. According to her, she hadn’t even formally broken things off with Central Cee before he was spotted with Ice Spice. “I didn’t even actually get to break up with him [in person],” Argy explained. “And he’s already with the next girl. He gave me not even 12 hours’ notice before he was being filmed with her.”

Ice Spice Drops Photo Dump Featuring Central Cee After Madeline Argy Put Him On Blast

Ice Spice has yet to address the debacle. She doesn’t seem to be fazed, however, at least based on her latest Instagram Post. She took to the platform today with a new photo dump, which includes a couple of photos of her and Central Cee. Unfortunately, her comments section is currently flooded with critics slamming her for the alleged cheating scandal, and accusing her of getting with Central Cee despite knowing he had a girlfriend.

“Not a girl’s girl,” one critic comments. “Free Madeline,” someone else says. Others suspect that this could all just be for promotion, or arguing that Central Cee is to blame. What do you think of Ice Spice’s latest photo dump? What about Central Cee’s ex putting him on blast? Do you think the two rappers are more than just collaborators? Share your thoughts in the comments section down below, and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates.

Eminem Wrestles With His Past Addictions On “Habits” Featuring White Gold

There are lot of things that help define the career of Eminem and one of them is his dark past. It is how this entire character/alter ego, Slim Shady, came to be. Since his path to superstardom kicked off at the end of the 1990’s, he has steadily come to grips with his issues. On The Death of Slim Shady, Eminem is working to close this troubling chapter on “Habits”. It features former collaborator White Gold (Music To Be Murdered By) and at the very start of this near five-minute track, Em has a familiar conversation with Slim Shady.

“Thought you got rid of my a**, huh? (Let me go, you sick f***) Alright, here’s what we’re gonna do (Piece of s***) You take this (No) / Or I put a bullet between your f***ing eyes (I don’t wanna)“. Eminem eventually does comply and takes half of an Ativan (drug for epilepsy, anxiety). On White Gold’s chorus, he sings from the perspective of Slim and how Em needs him and wants him to stay. This is his latest attempt to put his problems behind him and it is something he has continuously tried before.

But he has failed to fully accomplish that goal and it could seem that way still. Slim Shady goes from body bag to casket on the cover of the deluxe. The titular character is also now wearing a Jason Voorhees mask on in his casket. If you know anything about the iconic horror movie villain, you know that he is almost unkillable. Maybe it is just for this bonus track version and Slim is gone for good going forward. But we will just have to wait and see until the next Eminem project.

Drake Executive Produces Gordo’s Upcoming Debut Album “DIAMONTE”

It’s been an undoubtedly hectic few months for Drake, but regardless, the hitmaker recently linked up with Gordo to work on his upcoming project. Earlier today, Gordo took to Instagram to announce DIAMONTE, his debut studio album. The project will be unveiled on July 26 and was executive produced by Drizzy himself.

Aside from Drake, listeners can expect to hear Maluma, Young Dolph, Feid, Nicki Nicole, and more on the LP. “It features work from artists I’ve looked up to and artists who inspire me,” Gordo says of the upcoming album. “Some I’ve known for years and others I’ve met more recently.” To get fans even more excited to hear what he has up his sleeve, he dropped off the cover art, a scenic shot of himself sitting on a boardwalk captured by photographer Ivan Amet Achao Acuna.
