Ice Spice Has Listeners Plugging Their Ears After Dropping “GYAT”

Even though there are a lot of Ice Spice fans coming to her defense, especially over the last seven days, the critics are still quite loud. The New York rapper basically had the entire hip-hop community either groaning or anxiously awaiting the release of her debut album Y2K! It had been relentlessly teased and pushed by the media, essentially billing it to be one of the major tapes for 2024 overall. Sadly, for Spice and her team, many of the reviews have been extremely negative. Many pointed to the fact that its one-dimensional and way too short making it a popcorn project. However, with her still being one of biggest names out, delivering some sort of deluxe on bonus edition was practically inevitable. Well, that is what Ice Spice is doing, dropping potentially the lone track for it, “GYAT”.

Clocking in at just 1:55, “GYAT” raps exactly what you’d expect Ice Spice to rap about, her butt. Making this track even more forgettable is the overly repetitive refrain. “She throwin’ it (Back, back, back)
She throwin’ it (Back, back, that a**) Haters get (Back, back) Haters get (Back, back)
“. Like the original set on Y2K!, the writing is vapid on “GYAT”, but maybe even worse is the lack of energy. She sounds just as uninterested as the listeners are in what she has to say. “Girl just get a ghost writer”, one IG commenter demands. “U lucky u fine asf bra . Yo music so poop”, another adds. Still, give the song a shot and see what you think.

Lola Brooke is continuing to carve a nice niche for herself in the crowded rap scene of New York. From East Coast, drill, boom bap, and everything in between, it can be easy to get lost in the shuffle. That is especially true if you do not have some quality that makes you recognizable right away. Well, Lola Brooke has plenty of personality and an ear-grabbing voice which is why her album Dennis Daughter (Deluxe Version) has done so well.

But wait. When did she drop a bonus edition for Dennis Daughter. It was just yesterday that the tough as nails femcee tacked on an additional four cuts to the original 12-song tracklist. Doja Cat & A$AP Rocky Trade Contagious Energy On “URRGE”

Today has been one of the best in hip-hop so far in 2024. During this first quarter of the year, we have been treated to some fantastic music and we are very grateful to be in the thick of it. We have gotten out of the blue albums, diss tracks, and releases from some big names. One of those is Doja Cat with “URRRGE!!!!!!!!!!” This is one of the new cuts from the deluxe version of her 2023 album Scarlet. It was a project that saw the California multi-hyphenate go into nearly full rap mode and was a controversial record for many reasons.

This bonus version, Scarlet 2: CLAUDE sees Doja Cat tack on seven new tracks with “URRRGE!!!!!!!!!!” being one of them. What makes this track one to remember is the incredible and fun verse from A$AP Rocky. These two have never worked together, but we are glad they were able to come together here. Some may not see how these two would jive with one another, but the beat selection here matches their styles up perfectly.

Listen To “URRRGE!!!!!!!!!!” By Doja Cat & A$AP Rocky

“URRRGE!!!!!!!!!!” has a similar aura like Rocky’s “S***tin’ Me” or even “Babushka Boi.” The slightly unorthodox trap beat complements the cadence from Doja and the intensity of Rocky’s rapping. We can definitely see these two working again in the near future, and we hope they do. Be sure to check out the deluxe track above.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new song, “URRRGE!!!!!!!!!!,” by Doja Cat and A$AP Rocky? Is this the best deluxe track from Scarlet 2: CLAUDE, why or why not? What is your favorite element of the track and why? Who had the stronger performance on the record? Does this bonus edition successfully supersede the original? We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave your takes in the comments section. Additionally, always keep it locked in with HNHH for all of the latest news surrounding Doja Cat and A$AP Rocky. Finally, stay with us for the most informative song posts throughout the week.

You would be hard pressed to find another rapper who had a more productive and successful 2023 than Conway the Machine. There are a lot of artists that constantly have new music ready, but not many can top the quality of the Griselda affiliate. It was especially incredible to see how the Buffalo native was able to squeak out two records within the last week of 2023. If you did you would be able to hear Conway the Machine on “Halal.”

Lil Tecca Expands Tracklist To 17 With “TEC (Bonus)”

Auto-crooner and rapper Lil Tecca came through with his first project in nearly two years with TEC. It followed up his two part series We Love You Tecca from 2021. While the Queens, New York product was not saying or doing anything starkly different compared to previous releases there were a good deal of tracks that stuck. Additionally, there were some notable features.

Tecca brought on Kodak Black for some killer melodies on “HVN ON EARTH.” The vocal chipmunk vocal chops that make up the hook were fantastic. Of course, how can you forget about 500lbs? One of his best songs ever, he busted some terrific flows that just stuck.

GloRilla & Lil Durk Tear Up The Club On “Ex’s (PHATNALL Remix)”

GloRilla and Lil Durk might be the duo that we never know we needed. Though they’ve yet to properly collaborate with each other, they both appeared on Don Toliver’s “Leave The Club,”  though on two separate beats. However, the two returned this week with the release of their latest record, “Ex’s.” Glo initially teased the record on Tuesday on social media where she previewed Durk’s verse, leaving fans in a state of anticipation for the muddy banger.

Finally, the song arrives in its entirety as GloRilla unveiled the official bonus edition of Anyways, Life’s Great. GloRilla and Lil Durk slide over Kokurcho’s piano-laden production that strikes with the bounce of Memphis and the vicious intensity of Chicago’s drill sound. The two rappers connect to address their ex’s on the record. Glo delivers animated bars as she dismisses her ex (“Tell him throw the neck back for this p**sy, boy, it’s Fentanyl) with a gritty, sprightly flow. However, it’s Lil Durk’s verse that already had people talking.

Lil Durk Says He Went Through India Royale’s Phone On GloRilla Song

Since it is a song about their exes, it only made sense that Durk would hop on the record to address his woes with India Royale. It couldn’t come at a better time since the Chicago rapper’s made it his mission to try and win her back publicly. Durk comes through with a lengthy verse where he dives into his trouble with women but more specifically, his trust issues in relationships. “This the first person I cared about, I’m going through phones here,” he raps on the song. It didn’t take long for fans to suspect that he was discussing his break-up with India Royale.

Though this marks their first collaboration together, GloRilla and Lil Durk have flawless chemistry on this record. While Durk himself is working on his follow-up to 7220, perhaps we’ll hear more from them in the near future. Glo found an excellent record that brings out some of the best in Durk and simultaneously proves that she crafts hit records with little effort. Check out their new collab below and sound off with your thoughts in the comments.
