Frank Ocean Producer Reveals He’s Working On New Music In Miami

Is there a more enigmatic man in music than Frank Ocean? It’s rhetorical. No, there isn’t. The R&B icon has continued to defy expectations in ways both impressive and frustrating. He’s kept a low profile since his disastrous Coachella performance in 2023. No new music has materialized since, with many fearing that a long-awaited third album will never come. Well, there’s some good news on the horizon. According to Michael Uzowuru, Ocean’s longtime collaborator, the singer is in fact working on another album.

Uzowuru was recently profiled by the New York Times. His resume is staggering, as he’s worked with the likes of Solange, Kevin Abstract, Beyonce and Vince Staples just to name a few. That being said, his most lauded work may be with Frank Ocean. The two men worked closely on the joint 2016 releases Endless and Blonde. Michael Uzowuru served as a co-writer and producer on several tracks across the albums. If anybody knows anything about new Frank Ocean music, it’s him. And he blessed fans with some exciting info regarding the next album.

Frank Ocean’s Next Album Is Inspired By Dance Music

Michael Uzowuru, who also has solo music, did not provide any concrete details. In fact, he isn’t quoted as saying Ocean’s name specifically. The New York Times does note, however, that Uzowuru is working on new music with Ocean as we speak. Both artists are holed up in Miami. That’s all we get. It isn’t much, but it’s the most we’ve gotten since the aforementioned debacle at Coachella. If Frank Ocean’s previous statements are to be trusted, than the music he’s making in Miami is influenced by house.

During a 2019 profile with W Magazine, Frank Ocean shed light on his musical obsessions. He told the outlet that he’d been inspired by time spend in nightclubs. “I’ve been interested in club, and the many different iterations of nightlife for music and songs,” he explained. “And so the things I look at now have a lot to do with those scenes: Detroit, Chicago, techno, house, French electronic.” Electronic influence can be heard on the latest batch of Frank Ocean singles. By latest, of course, we mean “In My Room” and “DHL” from 2019. Hopefully Michael Uzowuru’s update leads to something concrete. The producer’s signature sound, meanwhile, can be heard on the recent Donald Glover show Swarm.

Frank Ocean’s “Blonde” Cracks The Top 40 For The First Time Since 2016

8 years ago Frank Ocean released his new album Blonde at the end of a truly strange series of events. He had gone a full 4 years of mostly silence following his Grammy-winning debut studio album Channel Orange. That’s when a mysterious website a livestream popped up online showing periodic clips of Frank assembling a staircase with teases of new music. That project ultimately became Endless, a visual album released through Def Jam, Frank’s label at the time. But the full picture became clear just the next day when Ocean shared his real follow-up album Blonde, released under his own label.

The album went on to be massively acclaimed and viewed by many as one of the best albums of 2016 and by some even one of the best albums of the entire 2010s. Clearly, love for the record hasn’t died down in the years since it was released. Just this week the project climbed back up to the highest spot its hit on the Billboard 200 since its original run on the chart in 2016. This week it lands at #34 on the albums chart. Beloved songs from the album like “Nights” and “Ivy” have racked up more than 700 million streams on Spotify. While the album’s biggest song “Pink & White” currently sits with over 1 billion streams. Check out the fans discussing Ocean’s newest chart placement below.

Frank Ocean’s “Blonde” Rises Up The Charts

Blonde recently appeared surprisingly high on Apple Music’s Top 100 Albums of All Time chart. The streaming service placed the record at the number five spot. It sparked debate among even those who are fans of the record questioning if it was too high.

What do you think of Frank Ocean’s 2016 album Blonde returning to the top 40 of the Hot 100 this week? How long do you think it will be before Frank Ocean releases another new album? Let us know in the comment section below.

Despite Online Pushback, Frank Ocean’s Mother Supports His Placement On Apple Music’s Top 100 Albums Of All Time List

With the release of any ranked list, backlash is sure to follow. Apple Music’s top 100 albums of all time list is no exception. But, there’s one person that seems to be content with the streaming company’s opinion.

While Lauryn Hill‘s The Miseducation Of Lauryn Hill secured the top spot, Frank Ocean’s Blonde wasn’t far off in the fifth slot. Despite users online’s push back, yesterday (May 24), the “Novacane” singer’s mother Katonya Breaux Riley publicly showed her support of his placement.

“This child sure knows how to make his momma proud,” she wrote. “I first said. ‘Wow, son, you are among the greats.’ But quickly retracted and said, ‘No, you are a GREAT!’ Here’s to my Frankie! 🥂🥂 ❤❤❤❤ #Blonde.”

The chart-topping project was revered at the time of its release. However, it appears things have changed in the nearly-decade following. To be clear, users aren’t upset that the body of work was mentioned, most so its ranking.

“Frank Ocean over Stevie Wonder,” wrote one user.

Not everyone disagreed. Many people have begun to rally behind Frank. “If you’re mad cause Frank Ocean’s ‘Blonde’ is in the top 10 albums ever by Apple Music, you definitely have never listened to the album,” chimed another.

Frank Ocean doesn’t seem to have issued a statement about the recognition.

Frank Ocean’s Mother Reacts To “Blonde” Landing On Apple Music’s Best Albums Of All Time List

You may have already seen Apple Music’s recent list of their top 100 best albums of all time, and there are plenty of hot takes and snubs to talk about. However, what might be the most surprising and generous placement on the list comes in the form of Frank Ocean’s beloved 2016 album Blonde, which landed at number five. While some fans might think it’s unwarranted or too soon to call when compared to albums like D’Angelo’s Voodoo, it’s definitely an earned and understandable accolade for one of the 21st century’s most definitive projects. In fact, it even got the mom seal of approval, as his mother took to Instagram to celebrate this distinction.

“This child sure knows how to make his momma proud!” Frank Ocean’s mother Katonya Breaux captioned her IG post about the placement. “I first said wow son, you are among the greats but quickly retracted and said ‘no, you are a GREAT!’ Here’s to my Frankie!![champagne glasses & red heart emojis] #blonde.” Blonde was originally an Apple Music exclusive, curiously enough, and this list is pretty much his biggest public appearance since his muscular selfie from a couple of months ago.

Frank Ocean’s Mom’s Post Celebrating Blonde‘s Fifth-Best Album Of All Time Title From Apple Music

Even then, it’s not a deliberate media pop-out, as Frank Ocean himself hasn’t said anything about it nor done press for the Apple Music list. His Odd Future partner Tyler, The Creator recently spoke on his elusive nature during his Coachella set. “Y’all know this song?” he asked the crowd as the instrumental for their 2011 Goblin collab “She” played int the background. “Oh, sing the song, ’cause this n***a not coming out. We don’t… We don’t know where that n***a is, so… It’s on y’all. You know it?”

Meanwhile, very rare social media posts are pretty much the only thing that people have heard from Frank Ocean in a very long time. We don’t know whether there’s a new album coming out, or if we already witnessed the close-out of one of contemporary music’s most scant yet enduring careers. Either way, we hope he and his mom are doing well, wherever they are. Let’s see whether this Apple Music list leads to something greater in 2024.

Frank Ocean’s “Blonde” Scores No. 5 Spot On Apple Music’s Top 100 Albums Of All-Time List, Sparking A Debate

Today, Apple Music finally unveiled its eagerly anticipated top 10 entries for its list of the top albums of all time. Ranking in first place is Lauryn Hills’s iconic 1998 offering, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. Michael Jackson’s Thriller came in second place, followed by The Beatles’ Abbey Road, and Prince and the Revolution’s Purple Rain.

For the most part, fans agree that those are pretty solid picks, though many would tweak the order they’re placed in. The music streaming giant put Frank Ocean’s Blonde in fifth place, however, which has sparked a serious discussion among social media users. The 2016 offering is undoubtedly a work of art, though it’s up for debate whether or not it beats the likes of Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Usher, and more.

Frank Ocean’s Placement On Apple Music’s List Leaves Social Media Users Split

While some Twitter/X users think Frank Ocean himself belongs a bit further down the list, others argue that his 2012 debut Channel Orange would have been a better entry. Of course, plenty of fans also see no issue with the ranking at all, and don’t understand why people are so upset. Apple Music 1 global creative director and lead anchor Zane Lowe, said that in his opinion, Blonde deserves a spot even higher up on the list.

“I had this higher than five, I simply adore this album. I feel like Frank is like Prince. He is like Michael, he is like Lauryn, he is like Marvin (Gaye), he is like Radiohead. He is the great outliers who found a way into our hearts on a massive scale,” Lowe said.

Nicki Minaj & Cardi B’s Blonde Battle Continues, Latter Shops At Balenciaga On Mystery Admirers Dime

Nearly every femcee standing centre stage in the rap game right now has collaborated with the fashion world in some capacity. However, few of them are making bold statements with their outfits the way Cardi B has since her come-up. Interestingly, her “MotorSport” collaborator Nicki Minaj seems to think the New Yorker is taking one too many pages from her book. For her latest transformation, Bardi swapped out her signature jet black hair for a long, platinum blonde wig, which she paired with a stunning white fur coat to film a clip for Instagram earlier this weekend.

Before long, the Barbz and even Minaj pointed out that the Queen of Rap previously stepped out in a similar style. “B**ches Jackin. I’m still Queenin,” she wrote in her caption on Saturday (December 23). In both photos, the mother of one’s hair sits in a shoulder-length 613 style, bringing out the golden tones in her complexion more than usual. Of course, Nicki isn’t the first lyricist to style herself like this either, but her fans seem to enjoy stressing Cardi out by drawing comparisons between the two women.

The “Bodak Yellow” lyricist addressed the situation in a rant yesterday, making it clear that the fur coat is an “archive” piece she’s had in her closet for ages. While she sounded upset at the time, it seems a trip to the Balenciaga store was all it took to adjust Cardi’s attitude.

“I’m not going to lie to you, when I got to the Balenciaga store, there was some items picked up,” Cardi B told her bestie from off camera. “Somebody knew I was going [shopping there],” she added, noting that besides the pre-selected gifts, they also left their card on file for her to purchase whatever she wanted. Cardi B’s Blonde Hair Causes Controversy, She Denies “Watching B**ches” To Copy Them

Even if she does follow Charlamagne Tha God’s advice to forego releasing her sophomore album, Cardi B will still find a way to stay in the spotlight. The mother of two became a popular stripper before she blew up on the hip-hop scene, and she’s now established herself as a prominent figure in the fashion world while also adding a few acting credits to her resume. As she navigates what seems to be another breakup with Offset, Cardi is making some changes to her appearance – namely switching out her signature, jet black hair for a platinum blonde wig that’s brought forth renewed confidence in the femcee.

Earlier this weekend, Bardi’s Instagram Story lit up with new videos showing off her bold appearance change. In one clip, she wraps herself in a plush, white fur coat, carrying a small black purse and smiling at her reflection in the mirror. Elsewhere, the bodacious bombshell drops it low in a multi-patterned ensemble, proudly carrying a luxurious Birkin bag while strutting toward the camera. It’s always nice to see Cardi feeling herself, but it wasn’t long before the Barbz tried to break her down by accusing her of copying her latest look from Nicki Minaj.

In her usual fashion, Kulture and Wave’s mom didn’t hold back when responding to discourse about her. “It’s an archive piece in my f**king closet, shut the f**k up,” she said of the coat causing a stir online. “The f**k? Y’all always watching me, always tryna find some s**t. I don’t give a f**k about these b**ches like y’all be giving a f**k about me. I don’t watch these b**ches, b**ches can’t dress to me.”

Beyonce’s “RENAISSANCE” Film Premiere Look Reminds Us She’s A Blonde Bombshell

Ever since Beyonce returned with her highly anticipated RENAISSANCE album in 2022, we’ve been living in her world. The mother of three followed that disco-infused project with a European and North American tour for the ages that concluded earlier this fall, with her and Jay-Z’s eldest daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, joining her mother for most of the performances. Those who weren’t able to catch one of Bey’s concerts in person have likely already secured their tickets for her new RENAISSANCE Tour experience film, with dates scheduled across the nation following the star-studded premiere on Saturday (November 25) night.

We saw famous faces like Lizzo, Kelly Rowland, Halle Bailey, and DDG all make their way down the red carpet in their best dressed. Though she had arguably one of the best looks of her career so far for the big event, Beyonce actually skipped out on walking in with her friends and fans. Instead, the Houston native met up with those who came out to support her inside to snap pictures after posing for a few stunning solo shots.

Beyonce Goes Bold for Her New Concert Film’s Debut

Not only was her strapless silver gown and matching gloves perfectly on theme for the RENAISSANCE film, but the “Halo” hitmaker’s perfectly platinum blonde hair added an icy touch to her look. The premiere went down at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater, and according to DailyMail, guests were encouraged to dress themselves in “cozy opulence” for their evening of celebrating Queen B‘s latest successes.

Now that the RENAISSANCE Tour has wrapped and its accompanying film is in theatres, Beyonce’s fans are curious about what the ever-ambitious starlet will get around to crossing off her bucket list next. Earlier this month, rumours began swirling about the potential of a Las Vegas residency. In her typical fashion, the Queen reportedly has a massive budget for her potential performances in Sin City. Khloe Kardashian’s Platinum Blonde Hair & Red Lips Make Her Almost Unrecognizable

Of the five Kardashian-Jenner sisters, the one we’ve seen changing up their look arguably the most dramatically since first rising to fame is Khloe. The mother of two has dedicated herself to a healthy lifestyle, resulting in serious weight loss – not to mention the evolution of her personal style. Another thing the Californian has had plenty of fun switching up over the years is her hair. She initially came up with dark brown hair, similar to her older siblings, Kim and Kourtney.

Due to her green eyes, however, Khloe realized that she has the ability to pull off lighter-coloured tresses too, and has been doing so for several years now. Whether she cuts it into a blunt bob or adds extensions for a more voluminous look, the Revenge Body star’s locks are always looking on point. As of late, she’s been rocking a nearly-white blonde and the red lipstick she applied before taking new selfies earlier this week has Kardashian looking brand new.

Khloe Kardashian Switches Up Her Look Again

On Thursday (August 17), she gave us three IG uploads. The first shows the 39-year-old sipping wine in a beautiful red and white floral dress from Dolce & Gabbana. Her figure looks clearly chiselled, and because of the oversized black sunnies she’s wearing, several followers had to do a double take.

“I didn’t know who this was at first, I had to look at the name,” one of that post’s most-liked comments reads. In the second post of the day, Kardashian smized for the camera in the same outfit. Her flashy rings caught the attention of fans in the comments, as well as her perfect French manicure.

Amber Rose Is Unrecognizable In New Photos, OnlyFans Model Claps Back At Colourism Comments

39-year-old Amber Rose has come a long way since first stepping into the celebrity world as Kanye West’s girlfriend over a decade ago. In that time we’ve seen her explore a variety of different styles, both with her hair and fashion choices. Of course, the multi-talent is best known for her platinum blonde buzzed head, but she likes to throw on a wig from time to time to keep us on our toes.

During a recent trip to New York City, the mother of two wore a long, icy white wig in a wavy style, leading some to mistake her for Christina Aguilera or the late Jacky Oh when she shared an Instagram photo dump on Sunday (July 9). The post kicks off with a candid shot of Rose walking down the street, her head turned to the side as a few tresses of hair blow in front. Her outfit of the day was a pink dress with a woman’s bodacious body across her curves along with groups of flowers. The Philly native also added a tiered silver necklace, drawing further emphasis to her chest area.

Not long after Rose updated her feed, trolls began to bring up the topic of colourism, which she obviously quickly shut down. “Apparently me being born perpetuates colourism in the Black community 🙄,” she wrote in @theshaderoom’s comment section. “It’s genetics, I can’t help how I look. I don’t try to be anything that I’m not. Just remember, white enslavers started colourism to pin us against each other, yet in 2023 we’re still having this st*pid a** conversation,” Amber continued.

“I’m BLACK and WHITE, now leave me the f**k alone about how I look,” the socialite demanded. “I am NOT no f**king white woman, stop playing with me. I’m not just a Black woman either. It’s unfair to Black women and their experiences for me to even say that.”
