Usher’s “Good Good” Hits Billboard Top 30, His First Song To Do So In Eight Years

Even though Usher’s one of R&B’s biggest superstars right now, the charts just aren’t what they used to be. Moreover, he remains as relevant and beloved as ever, but when it comes to his released material, many prefer to go back into his older catalog. However, one track from the soulful sensation broke that curse recently, fittingly reintroducing a commercial mainstay into the most mainstream of mainstreams. His 21 S*vage and Summer Walker collab “Good Good” landed at No. 28 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, dated October 14, 2023. With this, the Coming Home single became the Chattanooga singer’s first Top 30-charting song in almost a decade, which took the song eight weeks on the charts to achieve.

Furthermore, the last top 30 hit from the Dallas-born entertainer was back in 2015. He and Juicy J released “I Don’t Mind” in March of that year, and it reached its peak Billboard Hot 100 position at No. 11. With this anticipation and history in mind, it’s no wonder that Usher is calculating a lot of his moves in conjunction to create a truly special rollout for his aforementioned next album. These involved a Las Vegas residency, a Paris residency, multiple fashion show appearances, singles, music videos, and of course, performing at the Super Bowl halftime show next year.

Usher plans on having… pole dancers,” an alleged source reportedly told Page Six about the 44-year-old’s halftime show. It looks like he wants to pay tribute to Atlanta’s strip club culture- if these reports are at all accurate. “Dressed in a tasteful manner, of course as well as dancers on roller skates. He is definitely keeping in mind that his younger fans will be watching.n[He] just wants to set himself apart and make history as one of the greatest performers to hit the world stage. Beyoncé, Rihanna, Dr. Dre, Prince, and Michael Jackson have all made memorable moments. Now that Usher is taking the stage he wants to do something different, unforgettable and over-the-top.”

“Let me tell you something, you know what I do in Vegas,” he told The Breakfast Club about the performance recently, though he didn’t confirm these strip club rumors. “It ain’t nothing but the lights, baby, but we gonna bring the lights out. I’m trying to make certain that the world knows the legacy that is my career. But I’m playing the hits and I’m definitely bringing something that’s gonna leave you shocked. You’re gonna remember this moment.” For more news and the latest updates on Usher, stay posted on HNHH.

J. Cole & Yeat’s “For All The Dogs” Features Battling For Either’s First No. 1 Hit

Drake’s For All The Dogs is probably going to have at least one more song from it go No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts; it’s Drizzy, after all. Moreover, he already cinched one of those with its lead single, the SZA-assisted “Slime You Out,” and there are plenty of other successful tracks that either deserve or could commercially nab the top spot on the charts this week. However, it’s really a race between two songs that are performing the best right now sales-wise. These are the J. Cole collab “First Person Shooter,” their first in about ten years, and the Yeat-dominant “IDGAF,” their first collaboration ever.

As you can probably guess, there are a lot of “firsts” involved in this saga, and that’s not even the most important one. J. Cole and Yeat’s features are actually head-to-head for their first number one hit ever on the Billboard Hot 100. Even though it’s not one of their solo tracks, it would still be an amazing achievement for either artist. The rage sensation would get it and cement his place as a top dog in the game right now, whereas the Dreamville artist could finally nab one of the very few accomplishments that his decades-long career is missing.

J. Cole & Yeat Are Going Head-To-Head In A Race To Their First Number One Song

Of course, this also represents a bit of a curious and almost metaphorical showdown. Will the buzzing banger win, representative of a new generation, or will the lyrically dense performance from J. Cole come out on top, showing that the pen is the ultimate mark of a great song? Either way, it’s fair to say that both tracks deserve the accolade, and we’re sure there are no hard feelings between the two artists. As for Drake, even though both his features outperformed him on these tracks in this writer’s opinion, the album’s success is probably drowning that out right now.

Meanwhile, it’s important to address the following in this conversation: chart placements don’t matter, at least artistically. No amount of sales can match the excitement that these team-ups brought to fans, and they’d still love it with just ten streams or ten billion. So whatever happens come Billboard‘s updated charts, let’s praise that J. Cole and Yeat actually put some effort into what many view as a relatively effortless project. Hopefully they take turns throughout a couple of weeks and they can both reach this milestone. For more news on them and Drake, stay up to date on HNHH.

21 Savage Embarking On International Tour After Immigration Struggles: Report

It looks like there might be more to Drake’s bar about 21 Savage on “8AM On Charlotte” than we thought. Moreover, he confirmed that his It’s All A Blur tour companion got his green card, and is now able to travel following a long bout with ICE concerning immigration issues. “Savage got a green card straight out of the consulate. Where I go, you go, brother, we Yugoslavian,” the 6 God rapped on the cut. However, a source allegedly told Billboard that there might be more to this development. Apparently, the Slaughter Gang rapper is planning an international tour following this freedom, the outlet reported.

For those unaware, 21 Savage was born in the United Kingdom and legally moved to the U.S. when he was seven years old. ICE officials detained and arrested him in February of 2019 due to claims of an expired visa, claiming that he was “unlawfully present.” While the Atlanta MC eventually got out, this issue meant that he couldn’t travel overseas. This cut into It’s All A Blur (J. Cole and Travis Scott filled in for him for their Canada dates in Vancouver and Montreal), but it looks like he’ll be able to wrap things up with Drake for their final tour stops in Canada, specifically the OVO mogul’s home city of Toronto.

“I called [Meek Mill] while I was in jail and told Meek, ‘Bro, I just got locked up,’” 21 Savage told the My Expert Opinion podcast with Math Hoffa during an interview last year. “He called Jay-Z, and Jay-Z put a lawyer on my case, he played a role in getting me out. He ain’t just doing that s**t for anybody just because you rap. You gotta be from a certain cloth. I don’t feel like he’s just doing that for anybody. I ain’t Roc Nation or none of that s**t.”

Meanwhile, a criminal case concerning alleged firearm and drug possession during the 2019 arrest had delayed significant legal progress when it came to this immigration dispute. Now, though, amid rumors of a new album coming soon, it looks like the 30-year-old will be able to move freely. Again, these rumors of a tour are purely speculative and based on unknown sources, but it’s nonetheless exciting to consider. For more news and updates on 21 Savage, stay logged into HNHH.

When Does The ‘Billboard’ 200 Update?

This year, artists like Taylor Swift, SZA, and Morgan Wallen have been frequent occupiers of the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 albums chart, but there’s always someone waiting to claim the honor for themselves. In September, Olivia Rodrigo’s Guts debuted at No. 1, and Zach Bryan’s self-titled album dethroned Travis Scott’s Utopia. And for the last two weeks (and counting), Rod Wave has owned the top spot.

It has long been a built-in game for artists to gun for the Billboard 200 throne, and it’s just as much a weekly spectator sport for fans. The publication’s FAQ section explains, “Almost all weekly charts update each Tuesday morning (while, during weeks with Monday holidays, charts update on Wednesdays). If you don’t see a weekly chart updated by those times, please clear your browser cache and try again.”

Billboard also laid out its methodology for determining the country’s best album per week. “The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week in the US based on multi-metric consumption as measured in equivalent album units, compiled by Luminate. Units comprise album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). Each unit equals one album sale, or 10 individual tracks sold from an album, or 3,750 ad-supported or 1,250 paid/subscription on-demand official audio and video streams generated by songs from an album.”

Yung Miami Reacts To Diddy Comparing Her To Oprah: “He Knows My Potential”

Yung Miami responded to Diddy’s recent comments in which he compared her to Oprah in a post on her Instagram Story. She remarked that the iconic music mogul is going to be the one to push her to get there. Diddy made the comparison while speaking with Billboard for a recent interview.

Nipsey Hussle, to me, was that young Puff version,” Diddy began. “But one person that I can say right now is Travis Scott. I can relate to how he’s diversifying his portfolio and really understanding how to take it to the next level.”  From there, he added: “I also think Yung Miami [aka Caresha Brownlee] from the City Girls. She reminds me of Oprah with the endless possibilities that she has as far as her clothing line, television shows, performances, live podcasts. I really respect both of their hustles and see them being able to break through.”

Miami shared the comments on her Instagram page afterward. “Had to repost this again causeeeeee yeah puff,” she captioned the post. “He knows my potential and he’s gonna push me there!” Miami and Diddy have been in a romantic relationship for over a year now. Rumors had circulated about their breakup earlier in the year, but Diddy put them to rest by bringing Miami to the Met Gala in May.

Then, prior to the release of his new project, The Love Album, Diddy hosted an episode of Love Radio with Miami for Apple Music. “I have an island,” Diddy explained on the show. “This is just for inspirational motivation. You don’t know a lot of Black men that come from the hood that got an island.”

Drake & SZA’s “Slime You Out” Falls From First To Outside The Top 10 On The Billboard Charts

Drake is going to be dropping a brand-new album on Friday. For All The Dogs is a project that has been teased for quite some time at this point. However, we don’t actually know much about it. There hasn’t been a tracklist for the project, and we also don’t have a features list. Overall, there is even confusion about whether or not “Search & Rescue” will be on the album. Fans are split as to whether or not they even want it, but we digress.

What is for certain about this album, is that the song “Slime You Out” will definitely be on the tracklist. This song dropped a few weeks ago and it features the likes of SZA. The length 5-minute ballad was an immediate hit among fans, even it got criticized by Charlamagne Tha God. Subsequently, the song ended up becoming the number one track on the Billboard charts. It was a massive achievement, especially with the lack of hip-hop on the charts this year. Unfortunately, the song has experienced a major fall-off.

Drake & SZA Lose Out To Doja Cat

In the latest Billboard update, “Slime You Out” went all the way from first to 12th. Yes, that is correct, the song with Drake and SZA is now outside of the top 10. This is surprising especially when you consider how SZA has dominated the Billboard charts this year. As for who took number one from Drake? Well, it was actually none other than Doja Cat. Her song “Paint The Town Red” is back at number one, and we’re sure she is enjoying the success right now.

With For All The Dogs dropping very soon, it is likely that the artist will have another number one hit on his hands. His albums always chart extremely well, and we imagine every single song will end up on the Top 100 in one form or another. Let us know your thoughts on “Slime You Out,” in the comments section below. Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news and updates from around the music world.

SZA Says Her Past Romance with Drake Was ‘Childish’

SZA Among Nomination Leaders for 2023 MTV Video Music Awards

SZA reflected on her romance with “Slime U Out” collaborator Drake, calling it “youth vibes.” Speaking with Rolling Stone, SZA said their romance occured when they both were “really young.”

“It wasn’t hot and heavy or anything,” SZA said. “It was like youth vibes. It was so childish.”

Now, SZA has a new idea of love: “I want to stunt like me when I meet the person I envision me being with. I envision them falling in love with me the way I am. But I guess it’s like I have to release that idea. Maybe it’s because I don’t know if I’ll like the way I am later?”

You can read the full feature from Rolling Stone below.

Drake‘s new single, “Slime You Out,” featuring SZA, has made a No. 1 debut on the Billboard Hot 100. Proving Charlamagne Tha God was wrong about his assessment of the song.

The song is the 12th No. 1 single for Drake, bringing him into a tie for fifth most all time. It is the second for SZA, who also is in the Top 3 with the acoustic version of her hit “Snooze” with Justin Bieber.

According to Luminate, “Slime You Out” tallied an impressive 32.6 million streams, garnered 5.2 million radio airplay audience impressions, and achieved 2,000 downloads in the week ending Sept. 21.

Drake now only trails Michael Jackson, Rihanna, Mariah Carey, and The Beatles. Once he tops the last one, his line on “Going Bad”: “I have more slaps than The Beatles” will officially ring true.

Drake’s most recent No. 1 was “Jimmy Cooks” from the Honestly, Nevermind album.

Doja Cat Keeps Dominating The Billboard Hot 100 With “Paint The Town Red”

Doja Cat’s Scarlet is still in heavy rotation, it seems, as the new album’s biggest hit single continues to dominate the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Moreover, “Paint The Town Red” bounced back from No. 2 to return to the No. 1 spot on the ranking, beating out artists like Taylor Swift, SZA, and more. In addition, it marks her first multi-week chart-topping song, as her previous No. 1 hit “Say So” with Nicki Minaj held the placement for a single week. Just three weeks earlier, the Los Angeles native’s single became the first hip-hop record to reach the top spot in over a year. The last track to do so was the Queen’s “Super Freaky Girl,” and it’s funny to see all these links pop up with their commercial performances.

Furthermore, this is proving to be a great year for Doja Cat, even despite her relationship with her fans and what her fans think of her rumored relationship. WIth Scarlet, she pretty effectively switched lanes into more straightforward, but nonetheless engaging rap fare. Given that “Paint The Town Red” is a solid fusion of the “Balut” MC’s various styles, it’s no wonder that this was the track to make it big. That being said, don’t let that assessment keep you sleeping on the rest of the tracklist, because there’s a lot of quality to find.

Doja Cat’s “Paint The Town Red”: Watch The Music Video

Other big names on the Billboard Hot 100 for this charting week include Taylor Swift’s “Cruel Summer,” which rose from No. 6 to No. 4. SZA also continues to show that she’s a commercial and critical darling, as “Snooze” occupied the second spot. Funnily enough, this is her third track to get to either No. 1 or 2 (all of which were this year), following “Kill Bill” and “Slime You Out” with Drake. There’s been some steep chart competition in 2023, although admittedly not as much as other years.

Meanwhile, Scarlet itself is also proving itself to be quite successful on the Billboard charts, exceeding initial expectations. With just three months left to go in the year, there’s still time for Doja to etch herself more firmly in the 2023 chart history books. We’ll see how much further along “Paint The Town Red” captivates fans this year. For more news and the latest updates on Doja Cat, stay posted on HNHH.

SZA’s “SOS” Becomes Longest Running #1 R&B Album

SZA has had a spectacular 2023. After releasing her highly-anticipated new album SOS to massive critical acclaim last year, great commercial success has followed. The album scored a stunning 10-week run at number one on the Billboard 200 following its debut at the top spot. It spent an equally impressive 21 weeks atop the combination Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. But its most impressive accomplishment came on the Top R&B Albums chart and its success just turned record-breaking.

This week it was confirmed that SOS was spending its record-breaking 41st week at the number one spot on the official Top R&B Albums chart. That officially broke the record for the longest run on the top of the charts since its inception in 2013. She took the record from The Weeknd’s After Hours which tapped out after 40 weeks at the very top in 2021. Elsewhere albums like Doja Cat’s Planet Her and Bruno Mars24k Magic racked up more than 25 weeks at the top spot.

SZA Breaks Yet Another Chart Record

SZA has also achieved quite a bit of success on the Hot 100. The SOS single “Kill Bill” reached the top spot on the chart for a week back in March. When the new charts were released earlier this week she was once again on top. Her new collaboration with Drake “Slime You Out” just debuted at the number one spot. She’s the only artist to score two number-one hits so far in 2023 and her single “Snooze” just reached a new peak of its own at #3 this week.

Last week, SZA teamed up with Jean Dawson for a beautiful and multi-faceted new single. The song is already pushing two million streams on Spotify and has the chance to land among Dawson’s biggest hits. Her chart run could continue indefinitely as there’s a deluxe version of SOS with new songs on the way later this year. What do you think of SZA continuing to smash Billboard chart records? Let us know in the comment section below.

WATCH: Drake Salutes Takeoff During Atlanta Tour Stop

Drake Becomes First Rapper to Earn $5 Million in a Single Arena Concert

Drake is continuing his run of IAAB tour shows in Atlanta. During his most recent show, Drake saluted the late Takeoff.

“The first time I came to Atlanta, was I hopped on the remix to the song called ‘Versace,’” Drake said. “And I just wanted to say while I’m in here, rest in peace to my brother Takeoff. One of my first brothers out here in Atlanta.”

You can see the moment below.

Previously in Atlanta, Drake brought out some stars like Trae Young and Kai Cenat. But the headline-grabbing moment was something he said, dubbing The A the “most important place in rap music.”

“What would any of us be without Atlanta?” Drake said. “All the love that you’ve shown. All the musicians that you birthed. All the contributions that you give. This is hands-down the most important place in rap music and you should be very proud of yourselves.”

In other news, Drake‘s new single, “Slime You Out,” featuring SZA, has made a No. 1 debut on the Billboard Hot 100. Proving Charlamagne Tha God was wrong about his assessment of the song.
