Quentin Miller Accuses Big Sean Of Attempting To Deny Him Songwriting Credits

DJ Vlad is notorious for getting rappers to open up about some pretty wild topics throughout their interviews with him.

One of the most recent artists to sit down with VLADTV is Quentin Miller. During their conversation, the “Arkham Asylum” rapper dishes on an array of different topics.

However, one rapper he decided to hone in on, is Big Sean. It all begins when Vlad brings up other artists that Miller has worked with in the past, mentioning G-Eazy, Sean and Ty Dolla $ign. However, upon hearing the “Blessings” rapper’s name, he decides to open up about their experiences together. “Yeah I worked with Big Sean. Big Sean, man, that really broke my heart,” he begins.

He goes on to detail meeting him for the first time in the studio with Drake for the recording of the aforementioned “Blessings.” “When I get to working with Sean on this last project, the What You Expect [EP] with Hit-Boy, I’m part of three songs. There’s only six songs on there. Man, we texting and talking everyday. I’m pullin’ up on Sean’s crib, like, every other day,” he continues afterwards.

Miller says he had a full-circle moment when he noticed that there was a plaque for “Blessings” up in the Detroit native’s house. “Maybe, like, a week before the album drops, he’s just not responding to me at all. Then, like a week before, I’m in the studio with Hit-Boy, I just randomly hear in a conversation with Hit, ‘yeah, the album drops next week.’ I’m like, ‘wait, what?’ I didn’t even know,” says the “Potential” rapper.

When the EP did drop, his name wasn’t initially in the credits for the first three months. “I didn’t know we was doin’ the ghostwriter thing, ’cause if that was the case, I would’ve asked for some cash,” says Miller. Allegedly, Sean and his team were attempting to explain that they had to get all of the paperwork done firstly. However, everybody else who was involved in the project, had their respective names in the credits.

Elsewhere in the lengthy sit down, Miller details writing “R.I.C.O.” and sending it to DJ Drama. He says he wasn’t aware that Meek and Drake were using the reference track to release it on their own.

Of course, Meek Mill publicly called out Drake for using Miller as his ghostwriter during their notorious beef in 2015.

Quentin Miller Says Big Sean Ghosted Him After Contributing to “Blessings”

Quentin Miller Says He Never Got Paid from Drake Songs

Quentin Miller is speaking his truth. Miller, best known for his contributions to some of Drake’s 2015 project, If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late, had expressed his disappointment in Big Sean after the Detroit rapper ghosted him when it came time to pass out songwriting credits.

In an interview on Vlad TV, Quentin Miller states, “Big Sean, man, that really broke my heart, man. My first time meeting Big Sean was with the ‘Blessings’ song way back in the day. I remember meeting him in the studio with Drake. He kept asking about parts of the song. Eventually, after the third time he asked, Drake told him, ‘Yo, me and Q…’ Whatever, that’s what they called him.”

Released in 2015, “Blessings” is a collaborative effort between Big Sean, Drake, and Kanye West found on Big Sean’s album Dark Sky Paradise. And depending on if Miller would be considered a “ghostwriter” on the record, the Atlanta artist reveals he would have appreciated cash upfront.

Miller states that after the “Blessings” sessions, Big Sean recruited him to work on his collaborative project with producer Hit-Boy, titled What You Expect.

Miller continues, “So when I get to working with Sean on this last project, the What You Expect  with Hit-Boy, I’m part of three songs. There’s only six songs on there. Man we texting and talking every day. I’m pulling up on Sean’s crib like every other day. I remember one day I’m at his crib, I see the BET Hip Hop Award for ‘Blessings’. I’m like man, I didn’t know it won an award. He’s like ‘yeah bro you don’t even know, that song helped me a lot.’ I’m like, this a full circle moment.”

“So I’m really looking forward to it,” Miller states. “Maybe a week before the album drops, he’s just not responding to me at all. A week before, I’m in the studio with Hit-Boy, I randomly hear in a conversation with Hit, he’s got an album dropping in a week. I’m like what? I didn’t even know. I start hitting him, then I’m getting texts from his manager. Now I’m only getting texts from his manager. What happened?”

He reveals that after the project releases, the paperwork was incomplete and Miller’s name was not on the credits. In fact, his name wasn’t on the credits for the first three months.

“I’m blowing them up like ‘yo wassup man?’ because I didn’t know we were doing the ghostwriter thing. If that was the case, I would have asked for some cash. They’re like ‘Nah man, until we get all the paperwork, we can’t get all the names on the credit.” But everybody else’s name is on there. The features, the keyboard players, everybody.”

Miller states Big Sean’s team tried to “play him on the publishing,” and he had to fight to get his credits. For the first few months, Miller’s name was only on one song on Spotify and decided to stay quiet about his contributions to the project.

Miller closes by saying he was utterly “hurt and disappointed” by the entire situation.

Jhene Aiko Shared A Precious New Photo Of Her And Big Sean’s Two-Month-Old Son, Noah

Big Sean and Jhene Aiko are enjoying spending their time with their new bundle of joy. Their son, Noah, was born this past November, as the parents revealed via Instagram. In a recent post on her Instagram story, Aiko shared a picture of her with Noah, breastfeeding. The story was captioned “2 months.”

Since the birth of Noah, both Aiko and Sean have remained fairly low-key on social media. Sean shared a picture of himself holding Noah on Thanksgiving, captioned “First holiday wit my big boy Noah.”

Aiko has since released the second volume of her Sleep Soul album series, which contains R&B-influenced lullabies composed ideally for babies to help them fall asleep.

At Christmas time, Sean shared a photo gallery of him and the family on Instagram, which has since been deleted, celebrating Noah’s first Christmas.

“My Boy first Christmas, Santa had to make an appearance for him,” read the post’s caption (per People) “Happy Holidays! Love on yo people, they only here for a limited time.”

In terms of music, Sean made an appearance on Ab-Soul’s most recent album, Herbert. He also took to Twitter last month to reveal that he is working on new music of his own, noting that he is “85% done recording” his new album.

Jhene Aiko Shares A Glimpse Of Newborn Son Noah On Social Media

Nearly two months after giving birth to her and Big Sean’s son Noah, Jhene Aiko is offering her internet fans a small glimpse of the adorable newborn. Posting to her Instagram Story and 16 million followers, the “Sativa” singer” cradles him in her arms with the caption “two months.”

Aiko welcomed Noah with the Detroit rapper in November 2022. She wrote on Instagram at the time, “After 24 hours of labor, a total lunar eclipse, and while it was pouring rain… he came 🥹 my baby Yoda, my Sani 💙.”

Noah is the first child for Big Sean and the second for Aiko, who also shares a teenage daughter with singer O’Ryan.

The new parents, who previously formed the hip-hop duo Twenty88 several years ago, have been working on their next project together. Sitting down with Billboard last year, the California native revealed, “With the first Twenty88, we were playing characters — and that was really fun because we both like to act, and love watching movies. Expect more theatrics on the next one.”

“I’m working on a few other projects too that I’m really excited to share,” she continued. “I don’t want people to be disappointed if it doesn’t happen when I want, but it will be when the time is right, because I like to be intuitive with my releases.”

On maintaining privacy in the public eye, Aiko also told the outlet, “Both of us have learned to be more private in our relationship, and treat it like the special thing it is. It’s the same with my relationship with my daughter. I’m not going to post everything, because we’re being more present with each other. It doesn’t have to be shared to be real.”

Big Sean also recently announced his return to the music scene, saying last month that new music will come in 2023.

Ab-Soul, Russ, & Big Sean “GO OFF” On Our Latest “Fire Emoji” Update

Christmas is rapidly approaching. However, before they settle in for the holidays, some of your favourite artists continue to share new music. Surprisingly, December has seen some strong contenders for AOTY, namely from entertainers like Metro Boomin and SZA. This past Friday (December 16), even more heat arrived, aptly adding to the already impressive roster you’ll find on our Fire Emoji playlist.

Of this weekend’s many albums, arguably the most highly anticipated comes from Ab-Soul. The TDE artist dropped off HERBERT yesterday. It came along with an admission that he survived a suicide attempt during the project’s recording process.

Titles we’ve picked from the record include “GO OFF” with Russ and Big Sean, as well as “FOMF.” Additionally, “GOODMAN” with Punch, “NO REPORT CARD,” and “GOTTA RAP” are receiving plenty of love.

Another big release in the hip-hop world was Young Dolph’s posthumous album, Paper Route Frank. The entire thing is obviously worth a listen, though the title you’ll find on our Fire Emoji roundup is “Thats How” with Key Glock.

After that, we wear from Lil Durk and Future’s “Mad Max.” The superstar dup collaborated on the track for the former’s Only The Family – Lil Durk Presents: Loyal Bros 2 compilation project.

Other guest appearances on the 23-song-long tracklist come from Kodak Black, King Von, Icewear Vezzo, and Trippie Redd, just to name a few.

On The Alchemist Sandwich the renowned producer connected with several noteworthy artists. Of the 10-track project’s two new titles, we’ve selected “Clip In A Tray” as the more Fire Emoji-worthy.

NBA YoungBoy is continuing his tradition of being one of the most consistently releasing rappers in the game. This weekend, he connected with D-ROK on “Military” for Rich Gang.

Our final new title is a collaborative effort from Chief Keef and Wiz Khalifa – “Rider.”

Big Sean Teases New Music & Flaunts Ring, Sparking Marriage Rumors

While previewing some new music on social media, Big Sean sparked Jhene Aiko marriage rumors after he talked about a wedding in his song lyrics. The “Bounce Back” rapper also pointed at a ring placed on his fourth finger, further creating online chatter.

While in the studio, the Detroit artist rapped along to the track, saying, “They rather see me buried alive and barely alive / How many friends I got to have my casket carried outside / Probably not as many would stand and watch me married outside.”

Sharing that the snippet is a feature and not a solo, Big Sean commented under The Shade Room’s Instagram post, “Nah this just a feature I did on my homie Ab-Soul album #Herbert but its new music in 2023 tho. Love.”

Still, he didn’t address whether he had tied the knot. He and Aiko have been romantically linked for years, having previously collaborated on Big Sean’s 2013 hit “Beware” and as the popular hip-hop duo Twenty88.

This past November, the Finally Famous rapper welcomed his first child with Aiko, Noah Hasani.

Writing about his son in an Instagram post, Big Sean penned, “After 24 hours of Labor, A Lunar Eclipse, with rain from the beginning of labor til he was born, he’s here safe and sound. Happy, Healthy and everything we could ever ask for and more. Any and everything for you Son.”

He uploaded several pictures of him and the “Sativa” songstress in the hospital and delivery room, and also showed photos of him holding their newborn child.

Speaking with TMZ back in October, Big Sean revealed that he’d be taking a brief step back from music to focus on his family following Noah’s birth.

“Well I’m definitely taking some time for it to just be us, he said at the time, adding, “You can’t really put a time limit on it.”

Ab-Soul Lights Up “Herbert” Ft. Big Sean, Jhené Aiko, SiR, Punch & More

When Top Dawg Entertainment shoots, they never miss, and Ab-Soul continues his reign with Herbert. The California icon is back with his first project in six years, and it is an offering that once again highlights Ab’s talents. Artists like Jhené Aiko, Big Sean, Joey Bada$$, SiR, and even TDE’s president Punch make appearances on the record. It’s a lyrical giant from one track to the next, and fans have already taken to social media to dissect his bars.

Once again, Ab gets personal in his rhymes, and in a recent interview, he was asked if it is “invasive” for strangers to treat the rapper as if they know him.

“No. That’s fine. But that’s why this album is for everyone who’s not a fan of mine that really knows me,” he told Vulture. “This album is for them. But it’s kind of in an organic, creative way. It’s one of those things where it still ends up translating universally, even as I’m talking specifically to my close friends and family.”

Additionally, it looks as if we’re about to get a one-on-one interview between Charlamagne Tha God and Ab. A teaser of the intimate chat was shared by the rapper and it looks as if he’s addressing just about everything with the famed radio host.
