Summer Walker Stuns at Silver at Beyonce’s Renaissance Tour

Summer Walker Stuns at Silver at Beyonce's Renaissance Tour

Summer Walker brought out her metallics for Beyonce’s Renaissance Tour. The R&B star stunned in a silver mini dress and knee-high boots and evoked the queen’s energy in a matching hat and veil.

“It’s not the diamonds, it’s not the pearls, its just that I’m that girl,” Walker captioned the post.

Beyoncé’s Renaissance World Tour pulled into Atlanta, and during the first show on Friday, Aug. 11, Queen Bey dubbed The A winners of the “Eerbody on Mute” moment from her single “Energy.” If you haven’t picked it up yet, when Beyoncé sings the lyrics, the entire stadium is to go silent, a feat that Atlanta mastered cause the whole city was on their zoom.

You can see the moment below.

Beyoncé Crowned Atlanta, Georgia As The New ‘Eerbody On Mute War’ Winner

Wherever it travels, Beyoncé’s Renaissance World Tour is the hottest ticket in town. On Friday, August 11, ahead of her first night of shows in Atlanta, Georgia, city officials declared the date an official holiday, “Beyoncé Day.” But that wasn’t the only thing city natives did to show their love for Beyoncé.

On Saturday, August 12, during night two of her Renaissance World Tour, concertgoers proved they were the singer’s most devoted fans by dethroning Washington, DC, of their crown of the “Eerbody On Mute War” winners. The contest started as a fun crowd engagement moment to see who could best sing along to the lyrics to “Energy,” namely, “Look around / Everybody on mute.” It’s turned into a battle of the regional Beyhives.

Once it was time for the Mercedes-Benz Stadium to go silent, they flawlessly hit their mark, and Beyoncé gleefully declared the Atlanta audience as the new “Eerbody On Mute” challenge winners.

Earlier in the show, Beyoncé opened up to the sold-out stadium about what the tour means to her. “This is the gratitude tour,” she said. “This show is all about joy. I hope y’all feel a lot of joy. When I get up on this stage and see y’all, that’s what I feel. Y’all look beautiful tonight.”

Beyoncé’s Renaissance World Tour Becomes Highest Grossing Tour By Black Artist

Screen Shot 2023 08 13 at 9.34.23 AM

Queen Beyoncé is having the best year ever.
So far, we’ve witnessed everyone from Oprah to Madonna sing praise to what is arguably one of the greatest shows ever. After 33 shows, box office data shows, Beyoncé’s Renaissance World Tour has become the high-grossing tour of her career, with $295,676,504 in sales.

This becomes the highest-grossing tour of all time by a black artist, breaking the record set by her own Formation World Tour. Set to make $500,000,000 in ticket sales, I can’t help but to think about the adversity she overcame back when she silently fought through senseless rumors. If we learn anything from this ray of light we learned that naysayers and opinions don’t mean a thing when you stay disciplined and focused.

This tour tells a story with so many hidden gems that calling it a show doesn’t even do it justice—it’s an experience. One that you don’t want to miss. Creative thinkers, movers and shakers have been showing up by the boatloads to get a glimpse of this epic performance. Lenny Kravitz, Naomi Campbell, Pharrell Williams, Kelly Rowland, Salma Hayek, Kris and Kylie Jenner, Kandi, Megan Thee Stallion, Chloe and Halle Bailey, Amy Schumer, Ashley Graham and more have made this a priority in their schedule much like the rest of us.

I remember a time when they couldn’t pronounce her name correctly.

Now my 7-year-old daughter Felicity is envisioning her own future after we went to see Beyonce perform at Met Life Stadium in New Jersey. We both sang and danced through tears amazed at the legend my daughter (and myself) look up to. For three hours straight we watched her consistency, perfection, stamina and creativity in a way the world has never seen before.
After growing up with every image but my own in the spotlight, it’s breathtaking to witness this greatness from Beyonce (and Blue Ivy) with my own black princess.

It’s safe to say this generation has a new Michael Jackson in town…and her name is Beyoncé.

While in Atlanta, the Beyhive has already shown her much love, and she’s returned the love by crowning the ATL-hive the current winners of the “everybody on mute” challenge. Additionally, the city has also bestowed upon Beyoncé quite an honor.

Though Bey hails from Houston, Texas, the City of Atlanta has officially declared August 11 “Beyoncé Day.” A proclamation was written by the Atlanta City Council in recognition of one Beyoncé Giselle Knowles-Carter.

“As an accomplished singer, songwriter, and producer, Beyoncé has continuously pushed the boundaries of creativity,” reads the proclamation, “using her art to tell stories that resonate with diverse audiences and advocate for social change. For those going to the other Atlantas shows tonight and Monday, Uproxx has put together some nifty guides on how to navigate parking and ridesharing at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

Usher Recalls Chaperoning Young Beyonce During Studio Session With The Dolls

Hollywood may seem huge from the outside looking in, but when you really examine the lives of celebrities, many of them are uniquely connected in surprising ways. Growing up in Texas, Beyonce quickly rose to superstardom thanks to her vocal and dance talents. We’ve previously heard Lizzo discuss the time she watched Queen B perform in a Walmart parking lot, and now, Usher has a heartwarming story to tell about his past with the “CUFF IT” hitmaker.

As AllHipHop reports, the Dallas-born artist appeared on Capital Breakfast with Roman Kemp recently. During the interview, Usher recalled the time he spent working at producer/songwriter Daryl Simmons’ house. “Fun fact, I knew Beyonce when she was 12 years old, 11 years old,” the father of four told the host. “She used to be in a group by the name of The Dolls. I don’t know if I could consider myself their babysitter, but I had a time where I had to watch The Dolls.”

Usher shared that Bey’s group was making music at Simmons’ place while he was also visiting. “I kind of found my way into being their like, I don’t know, chaperone, nanny, or something like that, the oldest person in the room,” the multi-talent laughed. Years later, the pair went on to connect in 2008 for “Love in This Club, Pt. II,” which first arrived as a single from Usher’s Here I Stand LP.

Usher has been everywhere in the news lately. Not only did the 44-year-old connect with Summer Walker and 21 Sav on his new “Good Good” single, but he also had R&B icons Nelly and Ashanti giving him a run for his money while crooning out one of his throwback hits. See that adorable moment at the link below, and check back later for more hip-hop/pop culture news updates.

Noname Goes On The Attack To Diss Jay-Z, Beyoncé, Rihanna, And Kendrick Lamar On Her Fiery New Single ‘Namesake’

Noname is back and even more radical than ever. Her five-year hiatus between projects left her with a slew of topics to address on her new album, Sundial. The first item up for discussion is several musicians’ alignment with the NFL. On her fiery Slimwave-produced track “Namesake,” Noname directly aims at Jay-Z, Beyoncé, Rihanna, and Kendrick Lamar for lending their talents to the National Football League.

Noname doesn’t mince words in her diss when the track opens, rapping, “Read in between the line at the crime scene / I ain’t f*cking with the NFL or Jay-Z / Propaganda for the military complex, the same gun that shot lil’ Terry / Out West, the same gun that shot Senair in the West Bank / We all think the Super Bowl is the best thing.” In this line, Noname calls out Jay-Z for entering into a partnership with the sports league despite the criticism it has faced over the treatment of its majority Black players, including former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick.

Following in the line of attack, Noname turns her pen towards Rihanna and Kendrick Lamar, who at one point spoke out in support of Kaepernick’s sideline activism. Somehow, later they both performed at the Super Bowl Halftime Show. For Kendrick Lamar, that was in 2022. Rihanna was this year’s headliner. Beyoncé seemingly used her 2016 performance to advocate for police reform, but in the eyes of Noname, it is simply performative.

“Go, Rihanna, go! Watch the fighter jet fly high / War machine gets glamorized, we play the game to pass the time / Go, Beyoncé, go! Watch the fighter jet fly high / War machine gets glamorized, we play the game to pass the time / Go, Kendrick, go! Watch the fighter jet fly high / War machine gets glamorized, we play the game to pass the time,” raps Noname.

To be fair, those aren’t the only entertainers to feel Noname’s vicious sting. She also delivers a gut punch to herself in the line, “Go, Noname, go! Coachella stage got sanitized / I said I wouldn’t perform for them, and somehow I still fell in line f*ck!” No one is beyond reproach on the track, not even Noname.

Listen to the “Namesake” above.

Where To Park Near Mercedes-Benz Stadium For Beyoncé’s ‘Renaissance Tour’

Beyoncé is bringing her critically-acclaimed Renaissance World Tour to Atlanta, Georgia for a three-night run. Beginning Friday (August 11), Beyoncé will take the stage at Mercedes-Benz Stadium to perform her Renaissance album in full, as well as some of her biggest hits.

Of course, parking is expected to be a bit of a hassle at a Beyoncé concert, however, Mercedes-Benz Stadium has taken to their social media accounts to share some helpful instructions on when, how, and where to part.

According to a post from Mercedes-Benz Stadium’s official Instagram account, the parking lots will open at 1 p.m. Concertgoers can use Waze to guide them to their pre-paid parking lots.

The doors to the stadium will open at 5:30 for VIP ticketholders, however, guests are encouraged to arrive early, in anticipation for heavy traffic on the day of the concert.

Buying a ticket does not guarantee parking, and attendees are encouraged to pre-purchase parking ahead of the show.

While parking and rideshare options are available for concertgoers, the stadium recommends ticketholders to utilize the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority, known as the MARTA.

“MARTA is the fastest and easiest way to get to MBS,” reads the Instagram post.

It is also worth noting that Mercedes-Benz stadium is a 100% mobile ticketing venue, and only the purchased or fully-transferred ticket will be accepted — no screenshots.

Where Is Rideshare At Mercedes-Benz Stadium For Beyoncé’s ‘Renaissance Tour?’

Beyoncé’s Renaissance Tour has arrived at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia, and as one of the US cities where Beyoncé has her strongest support, the show is sure to be spectacular. Fans looking to maximize their experience with an adult beverage will probably want to use a rideshare service like Uber or Lyft, and fortunately, the stadium has provided a handy guide guide to the two rideshare locations on Northside Dr. That info pops up at the :30 second mark in the video below.

Beyoncé has so far hit the stage at varying times — usually, around or after 9 PM — so it’ll probably be a good idea to get there early enough to find your way around if its your first visit or visit the refreshments or merchandise counters. Beyoncé’s 11-year-old daughter, Blue Ivy, typically joins her onstage to perform the songs “My Power” and “Black Parade,” which typically appear a little before halfway through the show, after Beyoncé performs “Run The World (Girls).”

Beyoncé plans to do three nights in Atlanta, including Friday, August 12, and Sunday, August 14, before moving on to Tampa, Florida on Tuesday, August 16. She’s still got 13 more cities to go, including three nights in LA and two in her hometown, Houston. You can check out the remaining dates here.
