Michael Blackson Jokes Beyoncé’s Silver Look is for JAY-Z: ‘He Can’t Cheat No More’

Michael Blackson has an opinion on Beyoncé's new look.

Michael Blackson has an opinion on Beyoncé’s new look. TMZ caught the comedian at LAX and he spoke about the social media reaction, stating Queen Bey was just trying to give JAY-Z something different.

“Beyoncé is one of the most proud to be Black woman on Earth,” Blackson said. “JAY-Z probably wanted to see something else in bed. He can’t cheat no more. So now she like ‘listen, I’ll give you another woman.’ She doing this for JAY-Z.”

But Mike better hope Ms. Tina don’t hear about his comments.

Tina Knowles, Beyoncé’s mom, is coming to the singer’s defense after haters were critical of her complexion in a picture from the Renaissance film premiere.

Beyoncé was photographed in a stunning head-to-toe silver look, which Versace created. Some pockets of the Internet questioned Queen Bey’s skin tone, accusing her of skin bleaching and attempting to be lighter in complexion or white.

“How sad is it that some of her own people continue the stupid narrative with hate and jealousy. What’s really sad is that a white woman had the audacity to reach out to Neal Beyonces hairstylist she was from TMZ to say that the fans are saying that she wants to be white and she wanted to get a statement about it from Neal. Beyoncé continued the silver trend of the Renaissance tour at the premiere of her movie, Renaissance: A Film by Beyonce. Hitting the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills, California, Mrs. Carter had silver hair.

According to Billboard, Beyoncé didn’t walk the red carpet but attended the screening with her family.

Beyoncé’s publicist, Yvette Noel-Schure, shared a photo of the stunning singer on Instagram. Beyoncé was then celebrated for Donatella Versace for the picture in which she wore a Versace dress.

“@beyonce, you are a vision in Versace. You are unique,” Versace wrote. “One of one, the number one, the only one!!! I can’t wait to see the Renaissance tour movie”

The Beyhive is losing it over Beyoncé‘s new concert film and documentary Renaissance: A Film By Beyoncé. Many fans have already gone out to early screenings of the film, which offers a look at her creative process in addition to her incredible performances throughout the Renaissance World Tour. And as she is known to do, Beyoncé included another surprise for the fans at the end of the movie.

During the end credits, fans can hear “My House,” a new song from Queen Bey, which features her going into full rap mode. Driven by triumphant horns, “My House” shows a new side of Beyoncé, as she turns up the heat by way of scorching bars.

“Me and my thug bae gon’ slide tonight / Paparazzi ain’t got clips to hide tonight / Cash out this plane jet, call Lorraine / And take the Tiffany, I want forty-four karats on my fangs / I want pink diamonds on my belly chains and my nipple rings,” Bey raps on the song’s opening verse.

At the time of writing, it is unknown if “My House” will appear on an upcoming Beyoncé album, if it is a standalone single, or a leftover track from the Renaissance sessions.

Beyoncé Drops Fiery New Track “My House”

Fresh off the cinematic triumph of her latest film, Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé, the Queen Bey herself is back with a surprise for her fans. A brand new track titled “My House.” This release marks Beyoncé’s first release in music since the drop of her groundbreaking album, Renaissance, last year. And she’s not just testing the waters; she’s diving in headfirst, showcasing her bars. The melody is driven by horns and a relentless beat. “My House” throws listeners into uncharted territory as Beyoncé boldly embraces rap with scorching bars that set the track ablaze. While fans have witnessed her versatility across genres, this unexpected dive into full-on rap mode is a testament to her willingness to push boundaries and defy expectations.

The track’s release comes as no coincidence, seamlessly tied to the debut of Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé in theaters. Serving as the cinematic backdrop, “My House” adds an extra layer of intensity and anticipation to the film. Beyoncé’s journey into rap isn’t just a sonic experiment; it’s a declaration of artistic evolution. The songstress, known for her powerful vocals and commanding presence, showcases a different dimension of her musicality. “My House” is more than just a track; it’s a statement that Beyoncé continues to reinvent herself, refusing to be confined by the expectations set by her previous works.

As fans eagerly dive into “My House,” they are met with a Beyoncé who is not only unafraid to embrace rap. But does so with a level of finesse that solidifies her standing as a true icon. With no accompanying music videos for any of the album tracks prior to its release, Beyoncé continues to keep fans on the edge of their seats. Taylor Swift Returned Beyoncé’s Favor And Made A Surprise Appearance At The ‘Renaissance’ Movie Premiere In London

Taylor Swift and Beyoncé have been pitted against each other this year, since their respective tours, The Eras Tour and Renaissance, have been the biggest concert events of 2023. It doesn’t feel like Swift and Beyoncé themselves see each other as adversaries, though. In October, Beyoncé made a surprise appearance at Swift’s premiere for her Eras Tour concert movie.

Now, the shoe is on the other foot: Beyoncé’s own film chronicling her own massive tour (dubbed Renaissance: A Film By Beyoncé) is premiering in London today (November 30), and it has been rumored that Swift was planning to show up. TMZ reported earlier today that Swift hopped on a private jet bound for London, and it appears that’s the truth: The UK premiere is getting underway, as photos and videos of Swift on the red carpet are starting to surface on social media.

Swift posed for photos and videos with fans in attendance while rocking an outfit featuring a sparkling silver Balmain gown, jewelry via Anita Ko, and shoes from Giuseppe Zanotti.

Meanwhile, Swift recently released the fan-favorite song “You’re Losing Me” on streaming platforms, and Beyoncé’s only a few days removed from the Beverly Hills premiere of the Renaissance movie.

Why Do Black Prominent Figures Face Persistent Scrutiny Regarding Their Racial Identity?

Beyonce, Michael Jackson

Tina Knowles, mother of Beyoncé and Solange Knowles, took to Instagram to defend her daughter against the backlash she received for her appearance at her Renaissance: A Film By Beyoncé premiere. Fans flooded social media with comments, accusing Queen Bey of bleaching her skin. This prompts the question: Why do Black prominent figures face constant scrutiny regarding their Blackness?

Ms. Tina Fires Back At Haters

On Nov. 25, the premiere of Queen Bey’s Renaissance: A Film By Beyoncé occurred, marking the upcoming release of the “CUFF IT” singer’s highly anticipated film on December 1. During the premiere, Beyoncé was donned in silver and chrome Versace attire with platinum silver hair, leading some social media users to accuse her of bleaching her skin and being “whitewashed.”

Tina Knowles slammed these allegations, stating:

“She does a film, called the renaissance, where the whole theme is silver with silver hair, a silver carpet, and suggested silver attire and you bozos decide that she’s trying to be a white woman and is bleaching her skin? How sad is it that some of her own people continue the stupid narrative with hate and jealousy. Duh, she wore silver hair to match her silver dress as a fashion statement clown. ALIEN Superstar duh! What’s really sad is that a white woman had the audacity to reach out to Neal Beyonces hairstylist she was from TMZ to say that the fans are saying that she wants to be white and she wanted to get a statement about it from Neal.. lWell that made, my blood boil, that this white woman felt so entitled to discuss her blackness. What’s really most disappointing is that the some Black people yes you bozos that’s on social media. Lying and faking and acting like you’re so ignorant that you don’t understand That black women have worn platinum hair since the Etta James days. I just went and looked at all the beautiful talented black celebrities who have worn platinum hair and it has been just about everyone of them at one time or another. Are they all trying to be white? I am sick and tired of people attacking her.”

Following Tina calling out those diminishing her daughter, users had much to say regarding her recent comments.

One user named @MJFINESSELOVER wrote, “I’m glad Mama Trina DRAGGED all of the bozos and losers, who were accusing Beyonce of bleaching her skin, and also TMZ for having the audacity to even reach out to Beyonce’s stylist for comment on this nonsense. She has had enough of ya’ll attacking her daughter. Smh.”

Fellow Celebs Offer Outpouring Support

As Tina vouched for her daughter, the Knowles matriarch was met with an outpour of support from many including actress KeKe Palmer, LaTavia Roberson, Octavia Spencer, and more.

Keke wrote:

“I love you so much Ms. Tina! She deserves to be protected in this way!”

Former Destiny’s Child member LaTavia chimed in and wrote:

“Educate them, they always try to break the Black Woman especially one they feel intimidated by. The true definition of a protector.” Lastly, Octavia Spencer wrote, “You have raised beautiful, intelligent black, PROUD TO BE BLACK women. Period. Anyone who says otherwise has their own issues to deal with. I’m sorry you’ve come across the negative comments that people don’t realize is a reflection of how they feel about themselves.”

‘Not Black Enough?

This narrative has sparked conversations about the challenges Black artists face, where the most prominent figures are often questioned about their “Blackness.”

For numerous years, Queen Bey has constantly emphasized and celebrated her Black identity, utilizing the powerful platform she has garnered. From her early solo career to the present, Beyoncé has consistently been a prominent advocate for the Black community.

One notable instance is her 2016 Super Bowl performance, where she paid homage to the late Michael Jackson and the Black Panther Party while delivering a powerful rendition of her single, “Formation.” During this time, she faced scrutiny, even being questioned about whether she was “Black enough” to undertake such a performance.

Queen Bey Has Always Embraced Her Blackness

Beyoncé’s creation of Lemonade further exemplified her commitment to portraying and honoring Black culture in the critically acclaimed film.

Additionally, the iconic 2018 Coachella performance, famously known as “Beychella,” stands as another testament to the iconic singer’s dedication to pushing Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) culture to the forefront, celebrating the richness of Black tradition.

Showing consistency in her craft, Bey’s album The Gift and the accompanying film, Black Is King, emerged as a spinoff from the live-action adaptation of The Lion King, where it not only featured numerous Black and African artists but also highlighted the essence of African Traditional Religions.

Then, in her latest project, Renaissance, the “Run The World” singer continues to cast a spotlight on the Black community, specifically the Black queer community, celebrating the depth in both her album and the accompanying film, Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé.

Michael Jackson Too?

Similarly, the late great  Michael Jackson was no stranger to scrutiny regarding his Blackness.

Despite his physical Black appearance, Jackson’s skin underwent transformation due to the skin disorder called Vitiligo, leaving him to become lighter than he was. However many believed Michael “bleached” his skin because he wanted to appear as White and that he “hated” his racial identity.

He addressed these speculations during a 1994 interview with Oprah Winfrey, expressing his frustration with the spread of false narratives. The King Of Pop stated:

“I have a skin disorder the pigmentation of my skin. It is something I cannot help. When people make up stories that I don’t want to be who I am, it hurts me. It’s a problem for me. I can’t control it.”

Dr. Umar Calls Out Rappers

While some individuals question the Blackness of prominent figures like Beyoncé, others within the black community have taken a different stance. Dr. Umar Johnson, for example, criticized certain rappers for promoting philanthropy while still rapping about violence, highlighting the hypocrisy within the hip-hop industry.

Beyonce Shares New Pictures On Social Media After Skin-Bleaching Claims

Beyonce is causing a lot of buzz right now as usual, this time for the premiere of her RENAISSANCE concert film. However, this occasion also prompted some heated discussion and accusations to fly around the Internet concerning her look for the event. Moreover, many fans speculated that the superstar singer whitened her skin for the pictures, contributing to unrealistic or warped beauty standards that many saw as a bite of Kim Kardashian’s style. It’s quite the difficult situation to navigate, albeit one based purely off gossip and interpretation. Regardless, while she didn’t directly address this, she did post some new pictures on Thursday (November 30) to seemingly combat these claims.

Furthermore, the Houston native included various close-up snaps of herself in her latest Instagram post, including some with her husband Jay-Z. As always, she looks gorgeous, and is definitely leaning into fits that compliment her new platinum blonde look. Despite this narrative becoming part of the conversation, it seems like it won’t stop Beyonce’s movie from attaining massive box office success. After all, why wouldn’t one of the most sought-after live experiences of the year become a hit for audiences who can get close to it from the comfort of a theater?

What’s more is that Tina Lawson, the Destiny’s Child alum’s mother, fought back against these accusations. “Came across this today and decided to post it after seeing all of the stup*d ignorant self hating racist statements about her, lightening her skin, and wearing platinum hair wanting to be white,” Beyonce’s mom wrote on Instagram. “She does a film, called the renaissance, where the whole theme is silver with silver hair, a silver carpet, and suggested silver attire and you bozos decide that she’s trying to be a white woman and is bleaching her skin?

“I am sick and tired of people attacking her,” she went on. “Every time she does something that she works her a** off for and is a statement of her work ethic, talent and resilience. Here you sad little haters come out the woodwork. Jealousy and racism, sexism, double standards, you perpetuate those things. Instead of celebrating a sister or just ignoring if you don’t like her. I am sick of you losers. I know that she is going to be pissed at me for doing this, but I am fed up ! This girl minds her own business. She helps people whenever she can. She lifts up & promotes black women and underdogs at all times.” For more news and updates on Beyonce, come back to HNHH.

Why Do Fans Think Beyoncé Bleached Her Skin?

beyonce
Getty Image

Beyoncé should be celebrating the impending release of her new Renaissance film, which hits theaters on December 1, but instead, she’s once again dealing with malicious rumors about her being propagated by gossip blogs. The rumor in this case is that the “Break My Soul” singer has been lightening her skin in photos, with some sources even going so far as accusing her of bleaching her skin.

The rumors got so bad that Beyoncé’s mother Tina Knowles addressed them on Instagram, calling the people who believe or promote them “losers” and “bozos.” So, why do people think that Beyoncé bleaches her skin? Although the rumor goes back quite a bit (since at least 2011, when this South African site posted the question), the latest round began when Beyoncé posted a photo of herself from the Renaissance movie premiere in LA on her “silver carpet,” wearing an appropriately shiny gown and a platinum wig.

Now, anyone who knows anything about photography (which should be all of us, considering we’re all walking around with $1,000-dollar digital cameras in our pockets… and yet) knows that lighting (including flashes), camera settings (such as exposure timing), backgrounds, and even wardrobe can affect the way photos turn out. In this case, you’ve got a powerful flash to capture a wide variety of skin tones, including the very dark ones of the biggest Beyoncé fans expected to be in attendance, with a reflective surrounding (the sliver carpet and background), and even reflective clothing all throwing a lot of light around.

This combined, with Beyoncé’s naturally lighter skin shade (something this writer can relate to) means that the final product accented the highlights already present, making the superstar look ghostly and ethereal — an effect she might well have been going for, considering the “Alien Superstar” theme of her wardrobe. For what it’s worth, Uproxx’s editor Phil shared one of his photos from the event with the team on Slack and he could have passed for a mustached Casper the Friendly Ghost, so logically, the same would happen to Beyoncé.

As for why this rumor has persisted for so long, similar instances have seen a lot of variation in images of Beyoncé online, from advertisers retouching her image to the differences between photographers and settings for magazine shoots (which prompted Beyoncé to begin using her own team in a lot of cases). She’s also a global superstar whose music touches cultures where skin-lightening products are tragically still considered a beauty standard. Unfortunately, some folks on the internet are always going to look for the most dramatic (or meanest) explanation, rather than the one that makes the most sense, so there are some rather ungenerous interpretations out there. As always, consider the source before sharing.

Beyonce’s “RENAISSANCE” Concert Movie Looks To Have A Massive Opening Weekend

We are now just about 24 hours away from an icon’s concert film hitting select theaters. Beyonce’s, RENAISSANCE: A FILM BY BEYONCÉ, recently had a private showing over the holiday weekend on November 25. Plenty of stars stepped out to support the Houston native, including people like Lizzo and almost the entire cast of Destiny’s Child. There was a hot topic that came out that event that centered around Beyonce’s look. Many were saying she was trying to be white and rip off Kim Kardashian’s style.

Even though that moment was bothersome, especially for her mother, Tina Knowles, it appeared to be a successful evening. Over the past month or so, Beyonce has teased the movie with trailers including one that dropped on Thanksgiving. The icon shared a message to her followers, wishing them a Happy Holiday, while also revealing a first look at her film.

With all of this hype around her to begin with, it was fair to reason that the movie would perform well at the box office. Well, those assumptions look to be true. According to HipHopDX, a solid opening weekend is on the horizon. Beyonce is looking at $30 to $40 million, but she will be collecting about half of those earnings. It will be in AMC, Regal, and Cinemark theaters from November 30 to December 3. Then, it will return to the big screens from December 7 to the 10, before heading to VOD on the 13.
