J Cole caught a lot of flack for his handling of the Big Three beef. He dropped a diss record against Kendrick Lamar, then took it back. He took it off streaming platforms, and apologized to the rapper during Dreamville fest. Fans didn’t know what to do. Cole was criticized for not having the stuff to complete with Lamar and Drake. It didn’t help that he followed up the whole fiasco with a bizarrely horrible verse on Cash Cobain’s “Grippy.” Don’t worry, though. J Cole is back to clear things up.

J Cole dropped a new song titled “Port Antonio” on October 9. The only warning he gave ahead of time was that he cleared his Instagram. He wiped everything he’d posted before, and kicked off what looks to be a new era with an electric single. “Port Antonio” is a quality listen through and through, but the verse that has turned the most heads has to do with Drake and Kendrick Lamar. He sets the record straight on why he sat the whole conflict out. “I pulled the plug because I seen where that was about to go,” he rapped. “They wanted blood, they wanted clicks to make they pockets grow.”

J Cole Claims Drake And K. Dot Battled For ‘Clicks’

J Cole saying that would have been enough to quiet fans. But he kept going. The Dreamville veteran said that he didn’t want to lose friends over a beef, and prioritized his personal life over his professional life. “I wouldn’t have lost the battle, dog, I would’ve lost a bro,” he asserted. “I would’ve gained a foe, and all for what?” It gets deeper. J Cole proceeds to criticize Drake and Kendrick Lamar for digging up dirt on each other. He felt that it was beneath two artists who are held in such high regard. By him and by the fans. If digging up dirt is what it takes to wear the crown, he doesn’t want it.

“Jermaine is no king, if that means I gotta dig up dirt,” the rapper asserted. “And pay the whole team of algorithm bot n**gas just to sway the whole thing on social media, competing for ya favorable memes.” Cole has gone out of his way to emphasize the quality of his music in recent weeks. His guest verses on songs by ASAP Rocky and Tee Grizzley have fans once again questioning whether he’s the best of the Big Three. “Port Antonio” is going to add fuel to the fire. It will also be fascinating to see and hear if the other rappers involved, Drake and Dot, respond. Both men are expected to drop projects before the end of the year.

Joe Budden’s podcast co-host, Ish, came to the defense of Drake as the show debated the fairness of the Toronto rapper allegedly unfollowing LeBron James, DeMar DeRozan, and more. The conversation began with Budden theorizing that Drake may not be a great friend if so many of his associates are turning their backs on him. Ish countered by arguing that he’s justified in being mad at the group as they’ve all supported Kendrick Lamar in recent months.

“If you beefing with a n***a and you my man and I love you and you beefing with another n***a that is my man and I love, one I’m gonna try to mend the relationship and mediate as best as I can. If I see that it’s outside of mediation, I’m gonna remove myself from that particular situation. I’m not gonna be in the n***a video. I’ma just chill the f*ck out,” Ish argued. Joe noted that the lack of respect might have begun on Drake’s part as well.

In addition to unfollowing several people on social media, Drake also recently reflected on dealing with fake friends during a speech at Tyrone Edwards’ Nostalgia Party, over the weekend. “My real friends are definitely in the building,” he said at the event. “But let me tell you that you’re going to come to a point in life where people you thought were friends, people you thought were close to you switch up. They might try to move funny with you, they might stab you in the back. They might do a lot of things to you. You’ll come to that realization, wherever you’re at in life. Overall, 2024 is a year to forget for Drake. He was publicly embarrassed by Kendrick Lamar and some of his output is some of the worst of his career. However, it seems like he may be heading into 2025 with another titan in his sights. At the top of the week, Drake interestingly posted the infamous 2014 elevator quarrel between JAY-Z and Solange to his Instagram Story. It was a weird and inexplicable debacle that seems to not be an issue for anyone that was involved. Even with that being known, there’s some speculation going on that is suggesting that Drizzy’s trying to use it as ammunition against Hov.

Some think that this has something to do with Jay selecting Kendrick for the Super Bowl Halftime Show, but it’s murky. Overall, Drake has had issues with the Roc Nation boss previously, so it’s not too surprising in that regard. However, it is in that same breath because The Boy tried to take down K. Dot and it fired back in a pretty devastating fashion. Of course, there’s also the Pusha T takedown from a few years ago as well.

Some of these points were made on a recent episode of The Joe Budden Podcast while debating whether or not Drake should go at one of the G.O.A.T.s. One person on the panel thinks because he’s been so dominant in terms of sales and plays, his ego is clouding his judgement and it’s causing him to lose to the “big dogs.” They also brought up Hov’s past battles with a Nas, for example. Joe Budden thinks Drake should take the Nicki Minaj approach and go for the corporations (Roc Nation in this case) that he feels are sabotaging him. Tyler, The Creator says and does what he wants. He has undergone several phases, in terms of his subject matter and musicality, but the one constant is his irreverent sense of humor. If Tyler, The Creator has a problem with somebody, they are going to know it. Case in point, the rapper’s recent performance at ACL Fest. He performed a version of his classic 2017 song “911/Mr. Lonely,” but instead of referencing Elon Musk in a positive light, as he did on the recording, he flipped the lyrics to diss Musk.

Musk has become persona non grata in popular culture. He’s become one of the most memed and mocked celebrities in the world, and Tyler, The Creator has taken note. The original lyrics on “911/Mr. Lonely” are seemingly indifferent to Musk. The rapper works the Tesla founder into his verse because it worked with the rhyme scheme and the bar about not requiring gas. “Can’t see straight, these shades are Céline Dion,” he raps. “Sucks you can’t gas me up, shout out to Elon… Musk, yeah I got a sold out show. Crowd wild out but don’t matter ’cause you not front row.” Tyler didn’t want it to sound like he shouted out the controversial X (formerly Twitter) owner, though, and made an aggressive change.

Tyler, The Creator Used To Be A Huge Musk Fan

“Man f*ck Elon,” Tyler, The Creator rapped to an ecstatic crowd. The rapper change of heart is not uncommon. Musk used to be a semi-popular figure to praise/reference. In 2016, Tyler even heaped praise on Musk for providing an electric alternative to gas powered vehicles. Ironically, the praise was through the app that Musk would eventually purchase, Twitter. “@elonmusk I LOVE YOU THANK YOU FOR CHANGING THE WORLD,” he wrote. “AND MAKING THE EVIL OIL MEN WHO RUN THE WORLD HATE YOU.” Tyler truly adored Musk during the mid-2010s, and would even have exchanges with the inventor on the platform.

Tyler also praised Musk during a 2015 appearance on Hot 97. The rapper was there to promote his album, Cherry Bomb, but he went off book and decided to shine a light on Musk’s achievements. He even compared the Tesla founder to rap moguls like JAY-Z, Master P and Diddy. The last one has not aged well, from any conceivable angle, but it’s hard to hold Tyler, The Creator accountable for that. He could not have known how the last decade was going to play out. A lot of people have seemingly fallen out of love with Musk, and Tyler is at the top of the list.

Drake and Kendrick Lamar’s iconic feud will be examined in an upcoming documentary titled, Public Enemies: Kendrick vs Drake, according to Deadline. It will feature archival footage as well as interviews with friends and collaborators of both artists.

Shaminder Nahal, head of specialist factual for Channel 4, discussed the project in a statement: “Public Enemies: Kendrick vs Drake is not just a biography; it’s a cultural exploration of two of the most influential voices in modern music. This documentary will delve into the unique journeys of Kendrick and Drake, examining how their backgrounds, talents, and visions have made them global icons.”

Acme Films, who previously produced the film, Public Enemies: Jay-Z v Kanye, in 2017, will be handling the project. The company’s creative director, Jaimie D’Cruz, added: “It’s only a few years since our previous Public Enemies film for Channel 4 explored the rivalry between Jay Z vs Kanye. But Public Enemies: Kendrick vs Drake feels like a story that takes place in a time when all the rules have changed, and beef is all around us.” 

The documentary announcement comes after Drake made headlines for reflecting on losing friends and dealing with betrayal at a nightclub in Toronto over the weekend. “You’re gonna come to a point in life where people you thought were friends, or people you thought were close to you, they might switch up, they might try to move funny with you, they might stab you in the back, they might do a lot of things to you,” he said. “You’ll come to that realization. Top5 And DJ Drama Put An End To Their Beef

Top5 says that he’s made amends with DJ Drama after their longstanding feud. Taking to his Instagram Story over the weekend, he shared a screenshot of himself on a FaceTime call with the producer while noting in the caption that the two have “made it right.” He also gave a “shoutout” to Bunso for helping facilitate the squashing of the beef.

When DJ Akademiks shared the post on his Instagram page, hip-hop fans had mixed responses to the move. “Drama is a DJ. A REAL DJ. Top5 would never try that with a real street dude. We already seen him get pushed out of Subway,” one user wrote. Others brought up Top5 alleging to have robbed Drama back in 2023. “You know how embarrassed I’d be to get to robbed by a Canadian,” one user joked.

In June of last year, Top5 shared a video on social media of men in masks showing off jewelry he alleged to have belonged to Drama. “For all you that don’t post my music, and don’t play my music 2023 your chains are getting snatched.. @djdrama come get ur chain back lil boy,” he wrote in the caption. He also claimed that Drama paid $120,000 to get the chains back.

Top5 & DJ Drama Put Their Beef To Rest

Despite squashing his beef with Drama, Top5 recently ramped up his feud with Kendrick Lamar. During an appearance on Late Night With Liyah Mai, he allegedly threatened to take out Lamar in a drive-by shooting if he dares cross into Toronto. He discussed how the For All the Dogs rapper is holding up in the wake of his feud with Kendrick Lamar during the latest episode of The Breakfast Club.

“I thought that Kendrick’s execution of this battle was flawless, the strategy, the songs, everything, but I didn’t think that it had that much of an impact on Drake. Drake hurts. Oh my God. He is hurt,” Charlamagne said. After Drake paid for Top5’s legal fees to beat a murder case, the Toronto rapper got right back to reverting to his violent ways, at least verbally. Moreover, you’ve probably already heard about how Top5 threatened Drake’s opponent, Kendrick Lamar, during a recent livestream. Now, he’s doubling down on his promises of violence thanks to a recent appearance on Late Night With Liyah Mai, during which he threatened to hit K.Dot with a drive-by shooting if he ever crosses into Toronto. Of course, this is pretty much the worst way in which this feud could’ve evolved, so we pray that these are empty threats for everyone’s sake.

“Tell him come to Toronto. Swiss cheese,” Top5 said of Kendrick Lamar. “I’ll get the low, put on my Nike tech black, tell YG get us a driver, put the window down and get some fresh air. How disrespectful are y’all to ask me about Kendrick Lamar? Drake’s a bad boy. There’s a girl right there, you want [her] to get you? Don’t disrespect my homie Drake like that.” Mai proposed that Kendrick beat Drizzy in their battle, which made Top5 very angry.

YSL Woody Suggests That Charleston White Placed A Tracking Device In His Car

Over the last week and a half, YSL Woody (aka Lil Woody) and Charleston White have been butting heads. The former got things started by calling out the equally controversial hip-hop personality for speaking about him so negatively. “I had [love] for you. I thought that you had that same thing for me. But you wanna get on these platforms and say I’m a killer…. Like dang, bro, me and you don’t talk about none of this stuff.” On top of these two-face claims, Woody also says White has been trying to create beef between him and Boosie Badazz. The “star” name during the RICO trial also concluded his interview with Adam22 with a warning for White, “I know how I can get. And you playing.”

Just a few days after that, White clapped back by labeling Woody as a snitch in the YSL case. Now, the latter is returning the favor by suggesting that the content creator is trying to get him in trouble. According to a reposted interview clip by DJ Akademiks, Woody says someone placed an Apple Airtag in the backseat of his car. He showed the interviewer proof of the tracking device and says that he’s unsure how it got there, especially since Woody says he doesn’t allow anyone in his vehicle(s).

Even though that’s supposedly the case, he says in the interview that White and his girl got in his car at one point. He never explicitly accuses them, but Woody isn’t ruling it out given their recent history. In typical fashion, though, he says that he’s always outside in Atlanta going to big events, so “White’s Airtag” was unnecessary. The absurdity continues when the questioner even says that someone was tracked down and killed because an Airtag was on them. Woody replies, “Ain’t nobody gonna kill me though.” Unintentionally funny moments aside, these two are not holding back.
