Prince Dre Recalls King Von’s Death: “I Was There”

During a recent interview with No Jumper, Prince Dre recalled the death of King Von. The Chicago-born rapper was involved in a shooutout in Atlanta in November of 2020, which resulted in his untimely passing. According to Prince Dre, he was around when the 26-year-old was shot, but wasn’t aware of how dire the situation was until later.

“I was around but I wasn’t right there though,” he explained when asked where he was when he heard the news. He also confirmed that he was in Atlanta the night of the shooutout. “I ain’t gon lie, I ain’t know folks got shot until all that sh*t was over with,” he continued. “Like later on.” When Adam 22 asked him where he was when the actual shooting took place, he claimed that he was there. “I was there,” he said. “I just wasn’t right right there.”

Prince Dre On King Von Getting Shot In Atlanta

He elaborated, describing how he was “around” while not actually being at the exact location of the shooting. “It was a lot of people out there,” he recalled. “Basically, I heard it and I’m running into it, but I’m seeing everybody running. So I’m like, ‘damn, should I run to that sh*t?’ It was like some sh*t stopping me like, ‘hell no, you trippin’.’ So I’m just trying to see, pay attention to everything. Then when that sh*t was over with, everybody panicking and sh*t. They getting at ‘folks got hit.’ What?” he recalled thinking. “That’s how that sh*t was.”

Lul Tim, born Timothy Leeks, was arrested and charged with King Von’s murder in November of 2020. The Quando Rondo affiliate was then released on bail in 2021, and was preparing to go to trial. His charges were dropped in August of this year, however, after evidence surfaced appearing to show King Von assaulting Quando Rondo ahead of the shooting. Prosecutors now claim the act was carried out in self-defense. What do you think of Prince Dre’s recollection? Drake Accused Of Forgetting Lyrics At ATL Concert; Criticized For “10 Min. Monologues”

It feels like we all collectively attended Drake’s It’s All A Blur tour at some point this summer, even if we didn’t. Each concert delivered several viral moments, whether the different celebrities walking him out each night, the bras thrown on stage, or gifting his fans Chanel bags and all-expenses-paid trips to Turks & Caicos. Drake came through with a memorable run this summer. Following the release of four projects in two years, he ensured fans got the experience they deserved.

His latest stop in Atlanta appeared to be one for the books. Of course, Drake never shies away from showing love to the A. However, he made sure that the A received its flowers. He walked out with Bow Wow, brought out Kai Cenat and Druski, and declared Atlanta “the most important place in rap music.” And while many did seem to enjoy the concert, apparently, not everyone did.

Apparently, Drake faced groans when he tried to perform at encore in Atlanta. At least, according to a handful of folks on social media, so we advise that you take this with a grain of salt. One video that began circulating included Drake’s rendition of Ginuwine’s “So Anxious,” a song that he sampled on “Legend.” However, the TikToker who shared the video claimed that they were “waiting for Drake to sing at least one of his songs how he actually recorded them so I can sing along.”

As the clip began circulating on X (Twitter), other fans chimed in, as pointed out by TheNeighborhoodTalk. One fan claimed that they couldn’t “sit there for another motivational speech,” while another said that Drizzy similarly paused his show on numerous occasions to dive into “10 min monologues.” Despite Drake’s success, apparently, not everyone is willing to soak in the inspirational gems he’s provided across the It’s All A Blur tour. Check out the post above and let us know if you shared a similar experience at Drake’s concerts this summer.

Drake Honours Takeoff During Atlanta Tour Stop: Watch

The one-year anniversary of Takeoff’s death is quickly approaching, but for many loved ones and fans of the late rapper, his passing still doesn’t feel real. The Migos’ partner in rhyme, Quavo, spoke candidly about how he still feels his nephew’s spirit in an interview earlier this year, revealing that he still visits Take’s house to check on his things and make sure everything is in order. Others in the industry continue to mourn the loss of the Rocket Man as well, including Drake, who took a moment to pay tribute to his former collaborator during Monday (September 25) night’s tour stop in Atlanta.

“The first time I came to Atlanta, was I hopped on the remix to the song called ‘Versace,’” the 36-year-old recalled while wandering around his stage. The crowd instantly began cheering at the thought of him performing the classic club banger, but instead, he shared a heartfelt story about his late amigo. “And I just wanted to say while I’m in here, rest in peace to my brother Takeoff. One of my first brothers out here in Atlanta.”

Drake Reminds Us He’s For All The Dogs in ATL

Besides the “Versace (Remix),” we also heard Champagne Papi and Take join forces with Quavo and Offset back in 2018 for “Walk It Talk It.” The Southern rap group joined forces with the father of one to tour across North America shortly after, leaving Drake with plenty of fond memories to look back on whenever he finds himself missing the “HOTEL LOBBY” hitmaker.

Speaking of For All The Dogs, the first single from Drake’s upcoming album has been receiving mixed reviews online, though it did still land at No. 1 on the Billboard chart. Charlamagne Tha God was among those criticizing “Slime You Out” with SZA, though he’s not joking that the entire feud between him and the Canadian was a planned part of Drizzy’s album rollout. Drake Calls Atlanta “The Most Important Place In Rap Music” During Concert

Drake recently hit up Atlanta for his first of two shows in the city for his It’s All A Blur tour with ATL MC 21 S*vage. On Monday (September 25), he hit the stage and gave fans what they’ve been seeing blow up online for the past two months or so. Moreover, the trek has been nothing short of exciting, star-studded, eventful, and creative. For this first performance in the A, the Toronto MC fulfilled that precedent and anticipation with a stellar concert going through his biggest hits and bringing out some close friends. Furthermore, Atlanta Hawks star Trae Young, UK rap giant Central Cee, and Twitch streaming sensation Kai Cenat turned up alongside him for this event.

“Of course, Atlanta- well, first of all, make some noise for my brother Central Cee killing this s**t tonight,” Drake told the cheering crowd as he embraced each of his invitees. “Make some noise for my brother Kai Cenat one time in here, you know. And of course, make some noise for Trae Young in here one time tonight. We at ATL and s**t, wassup!”

What’s more is that the 6 God also took some time to honor the city of Atlanta as the hub of hip-hop right now, and one of its key homes in the genre’s history. “What would any of us be without Atlanta?” Drake asked his fans in ATL. “All the love that you’ve shown, all the musicians that you birthed, all the contributions that you give. This is hands-down the most important place in rap music and you should be very proud of yourselves.

“I know me, all the artists that I’ve done the greatest work with, all the artists that I love, all the artists that inspire me, the majority of them come from right here in Atlanta,” the 36-year-old continued. “So y’all make some noise for yourselves tonight. We celebrating you.” He may have found a new home in Houston, but it’s clear that he loves Atlanta deeply as both a fan and as an artist inspired by its excellence. Birdman Believes The South Dominates Hip-Hop

Birdman thinks that the South reigns supreme when it comes to the conversation regarding rap dominance. While the conversation typically tends to be East coast vs. West coast rap, Birdman says Jermaine Dupri is a big reason why Southern rappers saw commercial success. During an episode of The 85 South Show podcast earlier this month, Birdman shared his thoughts on which region dominates the hip-hop music scene. The Cash Money Records boss said that the South has taken over from both the West and the East. He believes that once people caught onto the South’s sound, they started paying attention. “But once they caught on to us, like it is now, I don’t think they’ll ever get it back,” Birdman explained. “We here forever.”

However, Birdman shared how he feels Jermaine Dupri played a role in bringing some spotlight to the South. “[He] really broke that barrier,” Birdman said. “Went up there and was fighting [for Southern rappers].” “He went up there and really made them play our music. They wouldn’t play our music at all. I got a lot of respect for Jermaine Dupri.”

Birdman Feels That The South Will Always Stay On Top

Following his initial remarks, Birdman reaffirmed his stance, and doubled down on his comments. He continued to assert that the East Coast and West Coast would never again have the dominance they once enjoyed in the music industry. “We [the south] ain’t never letting this s**t go,” he said. “This a feeling, this a vibe and I don’t think we’ll ever let it go. Ever. And I say that respectfully. I just don’t think we’ll ever let the vibe and the motion go.”

While Birdman feels strongly about the South being on top, Jermaine Dupri feels it needs more recognition. Moreover, even til this day, Dupri is making it know that the South needs to stay on the map and deserves more shine. He’s making it clear that Atlanta specifically needs to be recognized for its contributions to hip-hop. Just last month, he expressed on social media how he wished Atlanta got more recognition during hip-hop anniversary celebrations. “Just for the record!” Dupri started in his rant. “No brands have done any dinners or get togethers in Atlanta celebrating the 50 anniversary of HipHop. That’s Crazy!!!”

Boosie Badazz Can’t Deal With The Heat At Atlanta Braves Game

Boosie Badazz may be a rap-star provocateur, but he’s just as human as the rest of us. Moreover, he recently shared some comical clips on social media of him and presumably his daughter, or at least a kid presumably part of his family. With fans in hand, they were trying to beat the intense heat that was present at the Atlanta Braves game they went to. “Where the designers at?” the Baton Rouge MC cheekily expressed. “I need a Braves wifebeater. Man, why y’all ain’t tell us it’d be this hot at the Braves game? God damn! Came out here… god damn. Oooh, I’m wearing a wifebeater next time.”

Funnily enough, this story sort of ties into another big news piece surrounding Boosie: his beef with Yung Bleu. Apparently, Bleu couldn’t take the heat as much, because he canceled the rest of his tour amid their online feud. Jokes aside, that situation escalated from purely a financial dispute to a personal vendetta, which was nasty to see develop. It seems like things have slowed down in the week since this development, though, which is good to see.

Boosie Tries His Best To Keep Himself Cool At Braves Game

As such, we know that the 40-year-old can handle warm weather, whether in beefs or under the sun. What Boosie won’t stand for is people not offering up the heat upon his request. Recently, he started another beef saga, but a bizarre one that might not see much updates. When the Trill Entertainment affiliate went to Waffle House, they refused to cook his potato, which resulted in a wild rant. If there’s anyone who knows how to make something out of nothing for online entertainment, it’s him.

Meanwhile, it’s at least nice to see the “Set It Off” MC going out and about to more casual or fun activities. Usually, his antics have an industry backdrop, are related to some club incident, or is just him getting himself roped into tough situations on social media. There’s nothing like a baseball game to get your mind off of things… just make sure to dress for the weather. On that note, come back to HNHH for more news and updates on Boosie Badazz.

Drake Gives A Fan $10k And A First Class Flight To Atlanta

Drake has been hitting cities all over North America all summer and fans have noticed who is in attendance. From sports mega-stars like Kevin Durant, Jayson Tatum, and Johnny Manziel to musicians like Bad Bunny, Latto, Lil Yachty and more have shown up to attend. But just like fans have taken notice of the many celebrities in attendance, the rapper himself took notice of one particular fan.

During a stop in Houston, Drake took the opportunity in between songs to show love to one particular fan in attendance. He stopped the show to talk directly to a woman in the front row, shouting her out for appearing at numerous tour stops this summer. But he went far beyond just being happy to see her. He announced to the crowd that the special fan was being flown first class to Atlanta to sit in the VIP section for another show on tour. He concluded the interaction by offering her $10k to spend while there, which caused the crowd to erupt in applause. Check out the full video below.

Drake Gives Surprise Gift To A Die-Hard Fan

This isn’t the first time recently that Drake has shown off his generosity during a show. He’s been giving out Chanel bags to fans in attendance recently and one particular fan’s sign caught his attention at a recent show. The sign showed just how many Brazilian waxes one fan had to perform to make the money for a ticket, and the rapper rewarded her appropriately with a Chanel bag to take home after the show.

During that same show, he also reunited with his splash brother French Montana. That led to speculation about if Montana would appear on Drake’s new album For All The Dogs. He’s already announced that Bad Bunny will be appearing on the record and released a new song with SZA that’s expected to land in the tracklist when it drops next month. What do you think of Drake gifting a fan in his crowd a first-class plane ticket and $10k Let us know in the comment section below.
