21 Savage Surprises Fans In Atlanta With J. Cole Appearance

Yesterday, 21 Savage headlined Hot 107.9’s Birthday Bash event in Atlanta, where he surprised fans with a special guest. He brought out J. Cole, who performed a 5-minute-long set of hits, including his collab with Lil Durk, “All My Life.” The crowd at the State Farm Arena went wild for the appearance.

The duo led with their 2018 I Am > I Was collab, “A Lot.” “Atlanta, make some muthaf*ckin’ noise for J. Cole,” 21 Savage told the audience when they’d completed the song. “Hold on, don’t go nowhere. I need you to do a couple more for me, bro.” J. Cole then performed “All My Life,” followed by his 2014 hit, “No Role Modelz.” The event, dubbed a “Salute to 50 Years of Hip Hop,” also featured sets from GloRilla, NLE Choppa, and more.

Earlier this week, Lil Durk revealed that it took him and J. Cole years to settle on their “All My Life” collab. “He went super cr*zy,” he told Nadeska. Durk expanded, “And it’s so cr*zy because we’d been talking for, like, two years. He’d always be like, ‘Send me a record.’ And I’m like, ‘I gotta find the right record.’ Man, I’m glad it wasn’t three years. In my eyes, he a legend so if you have a chance to do a song with a legend, you either send them something just to send it, just to say you got one, or you gon’ make it stick. But that’s why I never just sent him a record. ‘Cause I’m like, ‘I want something that’s gon’ stick.’ Yeah, as soon as I did the record, he’s the first person that popped into my head. I’m like, ‘I got it.’ Yeah, that’s why I believe in timing. Timing is everything.”

Durk previously praised J. Cole’s verse on the hit, saying he “had to listen to it like four times.” “You know I ain’t super big on lyricist-type rappers,” he told RapCaviar in May, “With Cole, [he] was one of the ones, like him and Jay, you gotta play them 50 times to catch what they’re saying. Like, if you listen to Lil Wayne right now, and you heard some s**t ten years ago that you just catch onto today. But he definitely gave me one of them verses and I appreciate it. ‘Cause he ain’t even have to, for real. He could’ve gave us anything.”

Finesse2Tymes Afterparty In Atlanta Reportedly Disrupted By Shooting

An Atlanta afterparty reportedly hosted by Finesse2Tymes allegedly resulted in a shooting, and a clip surfaced online of patrons running out of the venue. Moreover, the Memphis MC performed at the city’s Hot 107.9 Birthday Bash, which featured a host of other artists. As of writing this article, very little details emerged as to this incident other than the online clip, so it would be wise to take the footage with a grain of salt. Unfortunately, this wouldn’t be the first instance of this nature to take place at one of the rapper’s events. Back in January, two people received charges for a shooting that left three injured after a fight broke out at one of his shows.

On the other hand, other antics reported in relation to his live shows have fortunately been less life-threatening. For example, Finesse2Tymes recently blasted a concert promoter for not having enough money for him to perform at a scheduled show. While many reacted with little sympathy, given that it still resulted in a canceled show, it goes to show that these live settings bring about a lot of complications behind the scenes. Hopefully this latest reported incident wasn’t as a result of those responsible for the afterparty.

Regardless, the 31-year-old’s live shows tragically represented what incidents could happen at a concert. His show with GloRilla resulted in a crowd surge that caused three deaths and other injuries. Both artists expressed their sympathies to the families of those lost, and recent developments hint at an incoming lawsuit. These incidents all occurred under different circumstances for different reasons, and it goes to show the unpredictability and danger that artists like Finesse2Tymes and promoters have to look out for with a heavy heart.

Meanwhile, these might be circumstances that many believed to cause the rapper to skip his own events. To elaborate, he responded to claims that he sent his brother out to perform at a club in his place, calling cap on all accusations. Killer Mike Reveals Who Saved His André 3000 Collab

Killer Mike is a rap legend at this point and for his upcoming new album, he recruited another legend to join in. When the rapper revealed the track list of the record old school hip hop fans zeroed in on the rare opportunity to hear former Outkast member and Atlanta hip-hop legend André 3000. But as it turns out the collab almost ended up scrapped and was saved by a pretty surprising name.

In a video posted to his Instagram, Killer Mike tells the story of how the song almost never came to be. “He called me, he’s like, ‘Kill, I don’t know about the song, man,” Mike explains. But once André heard the final cut he seemed to change his mind. “I sent it over with Eryn’s hook and stuff. He hit back with, ‘Yeah, yeah, you got the record. Who is that?!’” The voice he heard was Eryn Allen Kane who appears a few times on the record. She’s also lent her voice to artists like Chance The Rapper, Noname, and JID.

Killer Mike’s new album is his first solo project in over a decade and it comes out later this month. Since his last solo outing, he’s released four albums alongside producer and collaborator El-P as Run The Jewels. Their last project RTJ4 came out back in 2020 but Mike has been releasing singles from his new record since last year. One of those singles, “RUN,” featured a verse from the currently incarcerated Young Thug.

Mike is going on tour later this summer and last month he filled in for Atlanta indie rock band Manchester Orchestra when they had to pull out of Shaky Knees Music Festival at the last minute. His upcoming collab with André 3000 won’t be the first time the pair have linked up for a song. Killer Mike actually makes an appearance on Outkast’s legendary 2000 album Stankonia. He raps alongside J-Sweet on the track “Snappin’ & Trappin’.” His new album Michael is set to drop next week on June 16th. Rick Ross Upsets South Fulton Residents Due To Trashed Plaza Following Car Show

Though his beef with DJ Envy caused a firestorm in the media leading up to his annual car and bike show, Rick Ross’ event went over relatively smoothly. While he handed out diamond chains and other luxurious prizes to winners, the multi-talent was awarded panties from patrons, which he proudly wore on his head while cruising around The Promise Land. He also gave a great performance, tapping both Gucci Mane and Meek Mill to join him on stage, much to attendees’ pleasure.

Local police have since thanked Ross for cooperating with them in making the show a success. As you may recall, he was nearly denied a permit from Fayetteville County due to parking concerns, among other things. Ultimately, though, the Biggest Boss was able to work his charm and forge an agreement with the appropriate committees. Unfortunately, he still wasn’t able to please everyone. Especially not residents of South Fulton who were impacted by a plaza in the area being trashed.

It’s believed that those who were unable to get into the rapper’s event used the plaza as a place to party. However, his attorneys have since denied any involvement from Rozay. Beer and soda bottles left behind dangerous broken glass. Cups and other forms of litter remain in the Kroger grocery store parking lot as well.

Atlanta Club Comes To “Complete Stop” When Gunna Verse Comes On

In fact, the “Pushin P” hitmaker is being judged more harshly than ever before. Mostly for allegedly snitching on Young Thug, which he’s continuously denied. Many former friends and collaborators have turned a cold shoulder Gunna’s way, and Boosie Badazz even recently said that he wouldn’t work with the Georgia native, even in exchange for $1 billion.

Elsewhere, Lil Gotit ranted on Instagram about Gunna last week, markedly declaring that “it’s over” for the 29-year-old. It seems the former may have been right, as a video that’s gone viral on Twitter shows an ATL club coming to a standstill when the Wunna’s verse comes on during 21 Savage’s “Can’t Leave Without It.” When sharing the clip on IG recently, the OP wrote, “Aye y’all, DA WHOLE CLUB came to a complete STOP WHEN DEY PLAYED GUNNA .”

Aside from speaking to his rapping ability, Rick Ross is getting in his real estate bag, buying every piece of property Meek Mill has for sale. Hitting Twitter, Meek wants to know what Rozay is up to.

Meek did not provide details on where this home was located but his Atlanta home is officially sold, and staying in the Maybach Music family as Rick Ross has copped the crib for a cool $4.2 million.

According to WSB-TV, luxury realtor Alisha Gillooly revealed the sale of the Buckhead mansion. All $4.2 million was paid in cash.

The crib has nine bathrooms, a movie theater, sauna, outdoor pool, jacuzzi, tennis court, playground, and double garages.

“MANSION FOR SALE IN ATL my realtor not getting this off fast enough & I think I can lol I never moved in it had for a few years,” Meek wrote last month.

“Sandy springs/buckhead area! When somebody get traded to the hawks or falcons come grab this Jawn! I’m not even gone tag who shot this shitty video lol!”
