42 Dugg Facing a Possible Five More Years in Prison

42 Dugg is facing an additional five years in federal prison and a $250,000 fine after pleading guilty to failing to report to a federal prison camp in West Virginia. He was skipping out on a six-month sentence for illegal gun possession.

According to The Detroit News, Dugg entered a plea agreement last month in Atlanta, in which he and prosecutors came to terms on a six-month sentence. However, U.S. District Judge Judge William Ray II has a final ruling and could ignore the recommendation.

Upon his exit from prison, Dugg would be required to complete a 30-day outpatient drug treatment program. The sentencing is currently set for May 10.

42 Dugg has been in an Atlanta prison for nearly a year. His last moment of freedom was enjoying a Memphis Grizzlies and Golden State Warriors game in Memphis.

42 Dugg Faces Another 5 Years In Prison After Pleading Guilty: Report

It might be a minute until 42 Dugg comes home. The Detroit rapper became one of the leading figures out of the buzzing Michigan rap scene over the past few years. However, just when he was high off of hit singles like “Maybach” and projects like Last Ones Left with EST Gee, he found himself behind bars. The rapper allegedly failed to report to serve a prison sentence and federal agents arrested him in Michigan. What’s worse is that authorities described his arrest as a multi-state operation that uncovered alleged documents in which he claimed to be a sovereign citizen.

Throughout the year since his arrest, there have been few updates surrounding 42 Dugg’s release. However, he continued to deliver a slew of singles to keep fans on their toes. He dropped off “Soon” in May 2022 then dropped, “IDGAF” a few months later. In between those singles, his presence was also felt through a slew of collaborations alongside Lil Baby and Yo Gotti. Unfortunately, things aren’t looking too great for him these days, and it might be a minute until he comes home.

42 Dugg Pleads Guilty

According to Detroit News, 42 Dugg recently pleaded guilty for possession of an illegal firearm, but it might come along with additional prison time. The rapper is reportedly staring down another five years behind bars. During his hearing, Dugg admitted to the court that he purposefully failed to show up to serve a six-month sentence for unlawful carry of a firearm. Unfortunately, it seems as though he could be adding years to that sentence, as well as a fine of $250K.

The rapper initially caught a felony firearm possession in 2020, though he later posted bond. During the time he was free, 42 Dugg allegedly purchased a home in Georgia worth $1.4M that came with 6,500 square footage. It’s an unfortunate incident that should serve as a cautionary tale for other rappers who are beginning to get themselves out of the streets. We’re hoping that he manages to maneuver his way out of the five-year sentence and returns home to pursue his career in hip-hop. Yo Gotti, Moneybagg Yo And CMG Show That Life Imitates Art In The Somber ‘Gangsta Art’ Video

People may admire the canvasses, but they can never know the full story behind each brush stroke if it isn’t told. Though Collective Music Group may appear successful on the surface, there is pain and struggle behind their journeys that makes where they are now even more laudable. Their latest video for “Gangsta Art,” featuring Yo Gotti, Moneybagg Yo, 42 Dugg, EST Gee, Blac Youngsta and Lehla Samia, tells the story behind their work

Samia handles the hook while Mozzy, Moneybagg, Gee, Dugg, Youngsta and Gotti all tell their own stories through verses accompanied by elaborate scenes. Mozzy spits from bedside, EST Gee sits on a bench, Moneybagg Yo shows blood dripping from his shoulders, Blac Youngsta is chained up, and Yo Gotti sits in front of an oven. The only person missing from the video is the incarcerated 42 Dugg, but his energy is still felt.

“Gangsta Art” is both the opener and title track from CMG’s latest label compilation album. Gangsta Art also features Kodak Black, Coi Leray, Big30, and more across its 27 records. If CMG somehow wasn’t on radars before, they are making sure to change that with efforts like this.
