SZA Sounds Bitter And Beautiful In New Snippet For Potential Updated Version Of “LANA”

Many of you might have been thinking that after releasing the deluxe to SOS, LANA, SZA was going to be done. But if you are in that camp still, you may want to hold tight on that belief. Shortly after it landed on December 20, the Missouri singer-songwriter made a promise to deliver more updates before the end of 2024. “Punch gave the go ahead to purge and drop all song. More things are on the way,” she tweeted. However, due to the holidays, the TDE label was off during the last week.

On the day before New Year’s Eve, SZA went back to Twitter to give fans the scoop. “Just got word all updated Mixes and new songs will be added Jan 6th when the label comes back from holiday. Sorry they can’t do it any sooner. Just wanted to keep yall in the loop. Thank yall for your patience.” Well, it is January 6 so hopefully we receive the mixing changes and these new songs at some point today.

There’s a real possibility we get it sometime this afternoon, as LANA did drop at 3 p.m. ET. But like when everyone thought we would’ve got that at midnight, we were instead treated to the “Drive” single that was teased a few days prior. A similar thing could be happening today as well, as SZA has decided to share a little snippet of an untitled track.

On it she seems to be calling out an ex-lover of sorts, harkening back to some of the more bitter tracks on SOS like “Kill Bill.” “Drove by [your] funeral just to piss In the ditch / I’m not remiss” she sings with resentment. The production is also just as beautiful as her voice with its soulful background vocals and drum-less beat. Additionally, the writing is sharp, and it expresses SZA’s anger at this man with great detail. There’s some speculation from Genius that at least four songs will make this updated version of LANA, however, we just have to anxiously wait and see at this point.

Draya Michele and Jalen Green’s unconventional romance continues to turn heads. After confirming their relationship in 2023, the couple welcomed their first child together a few months later. The internet remains split. While many believe they’re a match made in heaven, others couldn’t agree less, mostly due to their large age gap. This debate was sparked once again over the weekend when the personality was spotted cheering Green on at a Houston Rockets game.

This gesture seems innocent enough. What caught social media users’ attention the most, however, was the fact that she was accompanied by her 22-year-old son Kniko. Green is also 22, soon to be 23. The mother-son duo appeared to be in good spirits at the event, posing for selfies courtside. Draya stunned in a simple black top, which she paired with some bold fur pants. As for Kniko, he rocked an all-green outfit, topping everything off with a large cross.

Unfortunately, social media users aren’t holding back when it comes to their harsh criticism of Draya in No Jumper‘s comments section. She’s yet to address the backlash she’s received for this particular outing, though she has clapped back at haters in the past. Late last month, for example, she showed her support for Mariah Carey when the 55-year-old songstress was seen on a date with 38-year-old Anderson .Paak. “That’s that 17-year age gap smile!!! Go Mimi (with y’all selective a**es),” she wrote at the time, sparking a debate about double standards.

In June, shortly after they welcomed their child, Draya and Green also chatted with TMZ Sports about how they felt about all of the controversy surrounding their relationship. She called other people’s concern for their personal lives “weird.” According to Green, they just simply “don’t care” about whatever people have to say about them.

Emmanuel Acho Suspiciously Deletes Video Following Joy Taylor Being Accused Of Having Sexual Relations With Him In Fox Sports Lawsuit

Fox Sports is not looking good right now following a potential damning lawsuit from a former hairstylist. Noushin Faraji, who claims to have been with the company from 2012 to August of last year, is targeting three major defendants plus another 25. They include the former host of Undisputed, Skip Bayless, current host/moderator of SPEAK, Joy Taylor, and the executive vice president, Charlie Dixon. He overlooks Fox, Fox Sports, FS1, FS2, and is also the head of content for FS1, which happens to be the network that helms Joy Taylor’s show. In the 42-page legal document, Faraji is alleging sexual misconduct against Dixon and Bayless, and Taylor of “insulting [her] on a personal and professional level.”

To be more technical she’s seeking damages for sexual harassment, bullying based on her ethnicity, and wrongful termination during her time at the company. To dig deeper into Faraji’s issues with Joy Taylor, there are specific accounts she listed of this poor treatment she received. “In early June 2023, the treatment reached a breaking point, as Ms. Taylor began openly mocking Ms. Faraji’s English (e.g., exclaiming that she could not understand Ms. Faraji’s accent) and complaining about Ms. Faraji’s humming — an involuntary subconscious coping mechanism for her diagnosed PTSD.”

But it goes beyond just this for the allegations against Taylor. Faraji is also accusing her of having sexual relations with Dixon and former SPEAK co-host, Emmanuel Acho. She’s alleging that she was doing this to move up within the company and secure the job on the show she’s now on. Acho is particularly the one to focus on here. In the lawsuit it states that Taylor wanted Acho to recommend her for this program. Faraji was to meet Taylor for a lunch in Beverly Hills, however, he was also there. After meeting in public, Faraji noticed them in the hallway at work together. That’s when the hairdresser started to piece together what was allegedly going on. She told human resources and after doing so, that allegedly began the bullying she received from Taylor.

Due to Acho being another name in this massive suit, he’s now responding accordingly. In his case, that involved him recently deleting a video he posted in 2022 praising Taylor for getting the role on Speak. The internet has been digging all sorts of what they believe to be revealing clips now that this bombshell suit is upon us. Him removing the video definitely makes him look very suspect though, and it will be interesting to see how this all unfolds. It is worth noting that “Mr. Acho had always been respectful to Ms. Faraji and never threatened or hurt her.” But regardless that might not be enough to keep his job if this unravels.

Muni Long Claims J Cole Walked Out Of A Studio Session Due To Her Trash-Talking

Sometimes, as with any other profession, musicians don’t always clock into their jobs with the happiest or most eager mindset. While this can sometimes cause conflict, it also takes a lot of humility and self-respect to not fall into those narratives and help others overcome them. Moreover, Muni Long recently confessed during a recent interview that her negativity in a studio session with J Cole caused the “Keep Heaven Dancing” MC to walk out of the room. This wasn’t negativity aimed at Cole per se, but Muni gave him his props for not judging her in the moment and simply indicating via a physical move that she should step away from her frustrations.

“I remember one time, I had a moment in the studio where J. Cole was there,” Muni Long remarked. “And I was just having a bad day that day, and I started just talking trash. I was talking to my other friend… and Cole came in the room. And within two minutes, he sat down, he heard what we was talking about, and he got up and left. I just remember being like, ‘Damn, why did he do that?‘

“But then I realized, like, we weren’t on the same frequency. He’s not on that,” Muni Long said of J. Cole. “Complaining and, ‘Man, why these n***as always trying to play us? Who they think they is?’ That kind of conversation does not circulate in higher-level rooms. He didn’t judge me, he didn’t say nothing bad. He sat there, he listened for like a minute, and then he got up and left. Because what happens is, when you’re high vibrational like that, most likely, those people are going to bring you down. Meanwhile, a lot of other folks had a lot of conversations last year around J. Cole and negative energies, mostly due to his since-revoked participation in the Kendrick Lamar and Drake battle. While it continues to be a big debate for many hip-hop fans out there, we wish that more artists would protect their energies and step away from negativity in the long run.

Despite his rocky relationship with his daughter Coi Leray, Benzino’s recent remarks during an interview with RealLyfe Productions indicate that he’s very happy for her following the news that she’s expecting a child with Trippie Redd.

“I’m going to be a granddad. Ain’t that something?” Benzino remarked. “I don’t know when this is going to air… I think I found out when the world found out. It feels kind of surreal. My son just told me that his girl is pregnant. […] He’s my oldest, him and Coi are separate by three years. I mean, I’ll be 60 in July, so it took me all this time to be a granddad, man. It’s just surreal, I can’t believe it.

“I don’t know enough about [Trippie], you know?” Benzino expressed about Coi Leray’s boo. “I’ve never met him personally, I’ve heard a few of his songs. He’s still processing this information, as he found out alongside the rest of us, but he also shared that he doesn’t speak with Coi often. In fact, Zino declined offering her a message during the interview, as he would rather say something personally. He’s hoping for a marriage down the line for that mutual support for the child’s sake, and even if not finding out about it directly is “kind of s***ty,” he’s happy to eschew Internet narratives and just be proud of his daughter.

YNW Melly’s Motion Hearing Postponed Amid Lawyer’s Alleged Witness Tampering Investigation

YNW Melly has been behind bars for several years now. He’s facing murder charges related to the 2019 deaths of his associates, YNW Juvy and YNW SakChaser. The rapper went on trial back in June of 2023. Ultimately, the judge declared a mistrial after the jury failed to come to a unanimous decision. His retrial is upcoming, but unfortunately, the case has been subject to yet another delay.

According to a new tweet by legal reporter Meghann Cuniff, the motion hearing in the case was set to officially begin today (January 6). It was postponed, however, as his lawyer is currently being investigated for alleged witness tampering. Reportedly, other lawyers claim he needs more information before deciding whether or not he still wants her on his case. “Mr. Demons has to make an informed decision about who he wants his lawyers. He’s now been sitting in our jail for 2,159 days,” the judge explained.

For now, it remains unclear exactly when the motion hearing will occur. This latest development comes just a few weeks after Melly’s attorney Michael A. Pizzi Jr filed a 12-page lawsuit against the Broward Sheriff’s Office on his behalf. In it, he alleges that the 25-year-old is dealing with inhumane conditions in jail including solitary confinement, communication restrictions, and more. “These restrictions are not related to any legitimate security concerns and are instead punitive measures designed to deteriorate Melly’s mental health and impede his ability to prepare for his trial,” Pizzi Jr. alleges. “No non-black inmates are subjected to such punitive restrictions.”

“The emotional and psychological toll of his prolonged isolation is enormous,” he also alleges in the suit. “The ongoing interference with his right to counsel is a blatant violation of his constitutional rights.” More specifically, Pizzi Jr. alleged that all of this violated Melly’s First, Fifth, Sixth, Eighth, and Fourteenth Amendment rights and demanded that he be released from jail immediately.

Hitta J3 Disses Top5 On New Song, Further Fueling Kendrick Lamar & Drake’s Crew Battles

One of the most odd and direct results of the Kendrick Lamar and Drake battle was how it inspired those in their inner circles to join the fight and start dissing each other. While a lot of this applies to their distinct fanbases, plenty of artists also picked a side and actively combated the other, including one Hitta J3. K.Dot’s longtime friend was featured on GNX‘s title track, and he’s now dropped a new diss track titled “Billy Butcherson” aimed at Top5, a Toronto rapper who is firmly on Drizzy’s side. It’s mostly based on the street narratives they’ve pushed against each other, with not much having to do with 2024’s hip-hop showdown at all.

Of course, that was what ignited it, but it’s clear that we’re in a very different playing field right now. It’s no longer just about Kendrick Lamar and Drake, even if that is still the most popular and talked-about part of these rap rivalries and others. We wonder if Top5 will respond, but it seems like most of his smoke is for Kendrick, so we doubt this will go much further.

Either way, most Kendrick Lamar and Drake fans have their criticisms of how this post-battle feud and others continued to evolve following May of last year. Plenty of people accused both Hitta J3 and Top5 of just chasing clout and capitalizing on their affiliations, but we can’t blame the artists for trying to get their name out there more. Still, most of these back-and-forth exchanges with other hip-hop media figures and amongst themselves only contribute to the drama around this whole thing. Hopefully one day we can start to appreciate them mostly for the artistry instead, at least when it comes to social media discussions.

Meanwhile, as more rappers find themselves stuck in these tight spots, Kendrick Lamar and Drake are moving on with their careers… Or rather, they made big moves to push their narratives even further. But in the case of Hitta J3 and Top5, it seems like they and other affiliates are happy to keep things local and personal. We’ll see just how long this rivalry goes…
