SZA Shows Off Her New Zealand Journey In Instagram Photo Dump As Fans Impatiently Await “LANA”

SZA is easily one of hip-hop/R&B’s most adored and celebrated artists in the space. Her incredible number of hit songs and standout records have placed in the upper echelon of singers in the modern era. Of course, when you consistently put quality material and feature appearances, fans are always going to ask for more. That has certainly been the case for the St. Louis, Missouri native ever since she dropped her critically acclaimed 2022 album SOS. The TDE label and its signees have been known to take a lot of time in between releases, so who knows when we are getting something new. Questions surrounding LANA in particular were plentiful underneath a recent Instagram dump from SZA.

In this latest and greatest collection of photos, we see the global R&B star’s trip across the country of New Zealand. Pop star Lorde gave us that tidbit of information in her comment underneath the post. “U being in NZ without me there,” she wrote. In the collage, SZA has sprinkled in her patented thirst traps as well, teasing her figure and backside with a skimpy butterfly under garment.

Furthermore, it appears she went on a hike at some park as she poses in front of a stunning waterfall. Later down the line, SZA looks to have gone to the inner city. She gleefully jumps in the air and spreads her arms with joy as she is standing on a balcony overlooking that gorgeous skyline. Additionally, she got a new shoulder tattoo with tons of detail. However, even with the fans loving the trip post, questions surrounding LANA arose again. “Where is the f***ing album,” one fan demanded. “Where that deluxe at maam,” another adds.

What are your thoughts on this latest photo dump from SZA on Instagram? How much longer do you think fans will have to wait for LANA to drop? Does she post the pics on the social media app? SZA Puts “Lana” Leaker On Blast, Fans Troll Her For Going After Someone With Only 4 Likes

SZA called out a user on Twitter for leaking unreleased music from her upcoming project, Lana, on Monday. In doing so, she clarified the status of the deluxe version of SOS after going on a since-deleted rant about scrapping the music she has and starting over. In response to the drama, fans noted that the post SZA was upset about only managed to get four likes before it was deleted.

“Will be dropping the leaks and outtakes from SOS as promised as the deluxe asap. Lana deserves more time and music no one’s ever heard before seems fair. Bless,” she wrote in one post. From there, she shared a screenshot of the leak. “Yesterday Janessa leaked unreleased pics and audio,” she captioned the post. “Then she deleted and deactivated before rca could get her. I screenshotted. Being that this is material from Lana This prompted me to make a decision.”

SZA continued in the thread: “The second leak tweet was fake but for sure pissed me off lol. Janessa was also in the replies to that tweet before she deactivated. I decided w all the leaks and me not knowing what someone has or doesn’t have it’s too complicated so I should jus consolidate the leaks and the outtakes and drop that as to not prolong the process and then focus on my next project as a win win for everybody. Y’all know I hate a thread but I had to clarify .. now enjoy your evening. I love you. And please be clear anybody defending a thief is weird as f*ck. I don’t come in your job and take sh*t and f*ck up your work. Why would that be okay? Where’s the home training? Nobody wants to prosecute a young woman. We’ve all asked very nicely for some time now.”

SZA On “Lana” & How She’s Handling Leaks

It’s not the first time SZA has complained about leaks relating to Lana. She also threatened to take legal action over the situation back in January. Be on the lookout for further updates on SZA on HotNewHipHop.

We have yet another update on SZA‘s upcoming album, LANA. Originally set to be an extended version of SOS, the seemingly mythical LANA has had fans waiting with great fervor. However, it looks like we’re still going to have to wait a a bit longer.

Earlier this week, the “Snooze” hitmaker said that as a result of fans leaking songs from LANA, she would be starting the project over. But tonight (March 26), it appears she’s had a change of heart.

SZA took to Twitter to explain to fans that she will, in fact, give the leaked material a formal release.

“Will be dropping the leaks and outtakes from SOS as promised as the deluxe asap,” SZA said. “Lana deserves more time and music no one’s ever heard before. seems fair. Bless.”

She continued, saying that keeping up with the leaks was very taxing on her, and decided that it was easier to simply share the material as a gift with fans, and for LANA to evolve as its own body of work.

“I decided w all the leaks and me not knowing what someone has or doesn’t have it’s too complicated so I should jus consolidate the leaks and the outtakes and drop that as to not prolong the process and then focus on my next project as a win win for everybody,” she said.

Now, as for a release date, we’ll believe it when we see it.

SZA Says She’s Restarting “‘Lana’ From Scratch” Due To Leaks

SZA says she’s restarting work on the deluxe version of her SOS album, Lana, due to fans leaking songs she had planned for the project. She explained the situation in a pair of tweets she’s since deleted that went up on Monday. She says fans can keep the three songs they’ve already gotten access to.

“So, we’ll make this really simple,” she wrote. “Y’all leaked three songs from the deluxe. At this point, y’all can keep the throwaways and leaks. I’ll be starting ‘Lana’ from scratch. Do not ask me about it again. Thank you.” She added in a follow-up: “I’ll round up the leaks y’all already got and u can have those. Seems like a fair deal. ENJOY.”

It’s not the first time SZA has gotten heated about the leaking of her music on social media. Back in January, she threatened to take legal action over the situation. “Leaking my music is stealing,” she wrote at the time. “This is my job. This is my life and my intellectual property. You are a f*cking thief, and I promise to put maximum energy into holding everyone accountable to the full extent of the law. I am tired.” Check out her posts on the matter on Twitter below.

SZA Expresses Frustration Over Leaked Songs

SZA has been working on the deluxe version of her critically acclaimed 2022 album for over a year now. Speaking with Variety in December, she admitted the work she’s put into it is starting to make it feel like it’s own separate album. She dropped the lead single, “Saturn,” last month. There’s still no release date for Lana. Be on the lookout for further updates on SZA and her new album on HotNewHipHop.

SZA Says “Lana” Is “‘Bout To Drop,” While Teasing New Song

SZA previewed a new song from her upcoming deluxe version of SOS, which she’s been referring to as Lana, on Instagram, Tuesday night. In doing so, she shared a video of herself singing in a tent while stripped down to her underwear. She sings: “F*ck around and die over community d*ck / Never fight over community d*ck.”

Responding to one user who asked about the song “Diamond Boy,” in the comments section, SZA wrote: “On the deluxe I’m Bout to drop.” In addition to excited fans, plenty of fellow artists hopped in the comments to celebrate the upcoming project. SZA has been teasing the release of Lana for many months now. Back in December, she explained that the deluxe version of SOS was beginning to feel like its own individual project. “It’s definitely turning into its own album… and I guess I could drop a new album randomly, because no one’s actually expecting that from me right now,” she told Variety. “But I can’t tell if now’s the time to be consistent, or carefree. On the one hand it’s like, ‘What would Beyonce do?,’ but I am also deeply inspired by people who do whatever the fuck they want, like Frank Ocean and Andre 3000. Some of my favorite songs were the ones that I dropped on SoundCloud [early in her career], because it was so stress free.”

It looks like we may finally be getting SZA‘s long-awaited follow-up to her critically-acclaimed sophomore album, SOS. She began teasing Lana, a deluxe edition to SOS, which she says has since evolved into it’s own body of work, back in early 2023. Now, it looks like it might finally be arriving soon.

Yesterday, SZA took to social media to tease visuals and music from the upcoming project. In the clip, she is seen dancing in a tent in her undergarments. A new song plays in the background, containing the lyrics “F*ck around and die over community d*ck / Never fight over community d*ck.”

Fans are eager to hear the new project in its entirety. In the comments, a fan asked about the song “Diamond Boy,” a fan-favorite of which portions have already leaked online. SZA revealed that “Diamond Boy” will, in fact, appear on Lana, saying that the song is “on the deluxe I’m Bout to drop.”

So far, SZA has only shared “Saturn” from Lana. She began sharing potential cover artworks for the album late last year.

At the time of writing, she has not shared a release date for Lana, but fans can look forward to hearing her on a remix of Flo Milli’s “Never Lose Me” coming this Friday (March 15).

SZA Shared ‘Saturn,’ Her Down-To-Earth New Single From Her Upcoming ‘Lana’ Album

It’s been an incredible month for SZA. At this year’s Grammys, the “Snooze” hitmaker took home three awards, delivered a killer performance of two of her SOS fan favorites, and launched an environmentally conscious partnership with Mastercard. As part of the launch, she premiered a new commercial, which contained a preview of a new song, “Saturn,” from her upcoming SOS reissue, LANA.

Today (February 22), SZA finally released “Saturn” on streaming platforms.

On “Saturn,” SZA finds herself questioning the meaning of life, and wondering if the condition of the world around her is currently as good as it’s going to get.

“Sick of this head of mine / Intrusive thoughts, they paralyze / Thе fun is not as advertised / Therе’s got to be more, been here before,” SZA sings on the song’s hook.

According to a press release which accompanied the initial launch of SZA’s Mastercard campaign, “Saturn” will appear on LANA, however, she has not shared an official release date for the project. The audio bundle for “Saturn” comes with the standard version of the song, a live version which was featured in the Mastercard campaign, an instrumental, a sped-up version, and an acapella version.

You can listen to “Saturn” above and stream the audio bundle here.

SZA Surprise Drops Dreamy New Single “Saturn”

SZA has once again captivated her audience with the surprise release of her latest single, “Saturn.” The track, is reportedly featured on the rumored album Lana or the potential SOS deluxe edition. It builds on the artist’s reputation for delivering music that sparks immediate excitement. The song, which was first unveiled during a Grammys commercial earlier this year, showcases SZA’s lush vocals and explores the theme of heartbreak. The opening verse sets a poignant tone, contemplating the possibility of another universe and the plea for a sign in the face of life’s challenges. SZA’s emotive delivery is hauntingly beautiful, drawing listeners into a world of introspection and yearning.

The chorus of “Saturn” takes a cosmic turn as SZA suggests that life might be better on the ringed planet. The desire to escape and break free from the patterns of heartache is notable in her lyrics. “Got to break this pattern of floatin’ away” she sings, encouraging the listener to find something worth saving. The declaration that “It’s all for the taking, I always say” suggests a sense of empowerment and agency in the midst of emotional turmoil.

SZA Isn’t Fazed Over Her Grammys ‘Album Of The Year’ Loss: ‘I’m Grateful I Won Three’

Per usual, the Grammys have prompted discourse about the coveted Album Of The Year award. Many viewers were disappointed that SZA’s critically acclaimed sophomore album SOS didn’t win the award, however, SZA herself didn’t seem to be fazed.

On the night of the 2024 Grammys, SZA won three awards — Best Progressive R&B Album for SOS, Best R&B Song for “Snooze,” and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for her Phoebe Bridgers collaboration, “Ghost In The Machine.” In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, SZA expressed her gratitude for winning those three awards, despite not winning Album Of The Year.

“I’m grateful I won three,” SZA said. “I could have left with nothing and I didn’t, and I’m grateful. My parents got to see it and I didn’t bomb on live television, and that was so scary. And I faced some really big fears and I’m just happy that it all went well, genuinely. And I’m happy for everybody.”

Also on Grammy night, SZA delivered a killer performance of the SOS fan favorites, “Kill Bill” and “Snooze.” She also shared a new song, “Saturn,” which is said to appear on her upcoming album, LANA.

When asked about the new album, SZA remained tight-lipped, noting that she doesn’t want the energy of the album to change.

“I’m just kind of here while energy is forming and I’m just trying to allow it to do what it needs to do, and my voice just follows whatever the frequency is,” she said. “So I feel like I want to allow it to finish shaping itself and form itself before I speak on it and possibly change the trajectory of what it could be. But I will say I’m in a beautiful space creatively and I feel just very new.”

When Does SZA’s ‘Lana’ Deluxe Album Come Out?

Over a year after its release, SZA’s sophomore album, SOS, still has the music charts in a chokehold. On February 4, it even took home multiple awards at the 2024 Grammys, including Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for “Ghost in the Machine” featuring Phoebe Bridgers, Best R&B Song for “Snooze,” and Best Progressive R&B Album.

But SZA is ready to kick off a new era of music by way of her forthcoming Lana.

When Does SZA’s ‘Lana’ Deluxe Album Come Out?

According to fan-circulated rumors across X (formerly Twitter), Lana will hit streaming platforms on February 9. However, the reports are too good to be true. After several posts and deletes from fan pages, SZA has denied the claims.

In a message exchange with a fan, SZA laughed off the rumors. “I just liked the photo,” she wrote. “LMAO, it’s not coming out on 2/9. I’m sorry, lmao. I like jerseys.”

The photograph in question was uploaded by a fan who attended a private event curated by SZA, apparently during pre-Grammys festivities this year. Attendees believed the numbers on the two models’ wardrobes were a subtle confirmation.

Still, SZA, her manager Terrence ‘Punch’ Henderson, nor her record label Top Dawg Entertainment have confirmed the release date for Lana. In fact, they might’ve suggested that delays could be on the horizon following leaks.

But during the 2024 Grammys broadcast, SZA partnered with Mastercard to preview the song “Saturn,” set to appear on the Lana.
