Boosie Badazz Thinks That The Florida District Attorney Kept YNW Melly In Jail To Allow New Death Penalty Law To Pass

Boosie Badazz loves to give his opinions on things, as we all know. Sometimes, they may come across as outlandish, but he might have a point here. The Louisiana rapper continues to do a lot of interviews with VladTV and he recently sat down with him again. In the past, the two have discussed the YNW Melly murder trial and how rocky it has been. After the first go-around resulted in a mistrial, they are looking to go through the process again.

It has been mercilessly pushed back. Originally, it was going to happen in October, but now it looks like February 5 is the day. Boosie Badazz talked about how bad feels for Melly and his family. He has a sneaking suspicion that when the court wants you, they will do anything they can to have you locked up. Boosie truly feels that Melly was kept in jail for so long that the new 8-4 law could pass.

Boosie Badazz Feels They Have It Out For YNW Melly

According to the Death Penalty Information Center, Florida passed a law where only eight votes are required for someone to receive the death penalty. Before, it had to be a unanimous vote, but the goalpost is now closer. Boosie feels it is messed up. He said, “After that law passed, they took him straight to f******g trial, bro. Eight-four is f*****g crazy.” But, in the latest clip above, he has a feeling that the court is going to do all they can. “When they want you, they want you.”

YNW Melly Case Takes Unexpected Turn As Lead Prosecutor Is Removed

The YNW Melly double murder retrial has taken another unexpected twist. Broward County Circuit Judge John Murphy decided to remove the lead prosecutor from the case. Assistant State Attorney Kristine Bradley, who was set to lead the prosecution, has been disqualified. Bradley took the stand and delivered a critical testimony. She revealed that she overheard Miramar Police Detective Mark Moretti, the chief investigator in the case against Demons, engage in a concerning conversation. Moretti had allegedly asked a Broward County deputy to provide false information. The info was regarding their presence during a search warrant execution outside of Moretti’s jurisdiction last October. Removing Bradley’s status as a potential witness for the defense is ultimately the fair thing to do. As her involvement could compromise her impartiality in the case. This leaves the State Attorney’s Office with a race against time to find a suitable replacement before jury selection begins.

Moreover, this decision ensures the fairness of the proceedings by preventing any perceived bias or conflict of interest. In addition, in the same ruling, Judge Murphy addressed the defense’s attempt to have the State Attorney’s Office entirely removed from the case and even dismissed entirely. However, elected State Attorney Harold Pryor and two of his deputies, who were accused of engaging in a “cover-up,” were found not to be disqualified. Judge Murphy stated that the defense failed to provide sufficient evidence to support their claims. He emphasized that all available information indicated that the prosecutors had instructed their team to be truthful and forthcoming with the court and the defense.

Lead Prosecutor Removed From YNW Melly Case

The case has captured public attention, and the legal proceedings are sure to be closely watched as they unfold. In addition to this latest update, the jurors for the retrial may remain anonymous. As HNHH previously reported, a motion was filed to protect the jurors identity so that they don’t become subject to harassment or outside influences.

The YNW Melly case revolves around the shooting deaths of two fellow rappers, Anthony “YNW Sakchaser” Williams and Christopher “YNW Juvy” Thomas. Jamell “YNW Melly” Demons, the accused, has consistently maintained his innocence. And the defense is exploring every avenue to challenge the credibility of key accusers in the trial. Prosecutors have until the end of next week to start jury selection in the retrial.

YNW Melly Trial: Man Who Cooperated In XXXTENTACION Trial To Testify

YNW Melly’s trial will return to court in the near future as prosecutors hope to secure a conviction. The judge declared a mistrial after the jury was deadlocked. Still, the prosecutors have expressed confidence in the outcome during the retrial. Last week, reports emerged that YNW Melly and his co-defendant, YNW Bortlen, were hit with witness tampering charges. But that’s not all. Apparently, they’ve found a new witness to take the stand. Reports reveal that one individual who was recently convicted for his involvement in the XXXTENTACION murder will testify.

According to newly surfaced documents posted to Akademiks’ Instagram page, Robert Allen will be taking the witness stand during YNW Melly’s trial. Allen, who previously testified against his co-defendants in the XXXTENTACION trial, will reportedly testify again. Although it’s unclear what connection Allen has to the case, he’s currently locked up at the same facility as YNW Melly. The two are currently incarcerated at Broward County Jail. We will see what ends up transpiring during the case. There have already been a few delays ahead of the retrial. Per NBC Miami, the judge pushed back the jury selection process by a week after Melly’s attorneys accused South Florida prosecutors of committing felony obstruction of justice. His defense team alleged that prosecutors failed to disclose that the lead detective previously admitted that he’d be willing to lie during the investigation and while gathering evidence.

Melly’s attorneys asked the judge to remove the Broward County Attorney’s Office and possibly dismiss the case. The request came after Broward Office’s Assistant State Attorney Michelle Boutros testified that she overheard Miramar Police Detective Mark Moretti ask a deputy to lie after executing a search warrant outside of his jurisdiction. It seems as though Melly’s attorneys are hoping for a better outcome during the retrial. We’ll keep you posted on anymore updates surrounding YNW Melly’s case. YNW Melly’s Co-Defendant YNW Bortlen Has Personal Items Seized In Home Raid

Earlier this week news broke that rocked the double murder trial of YNW Melly. While the rapper himself has been in prison for 5 years awaiting a conclusion to his legal battle, his co-defendant YNW Bortlen has been out on bail. That changed when police raided his home as part of an investigation into witness tampering. Eventually, both Bortlen and Melly were hit with additional witness tampering charges in their cases. Now new information about the the police raid of Bortlen’s house is emerging.

Twitter user Bryson “Boom” Paul shared information that YNW Bortlen’s girlfriend Neak Baby posted to her Instagram story. “The police took my phones, my laptop, my bill notebook, and my headscarf. Probably more I just aint realize cause I’m still picking sh*t up from them kicking my door in and ransacking my place,” she posted to her Instagram story. YNW Melly Arraigned On Witness Tampering Charges In New Video: Watch

YNW Melly is currently in the midst of a difficult trial. Overall, he has been in custody for the better part of five years. Although his first go-around was considered a “mistrial,” he now has to do it all over again. On October 9th, jury selection will begin. The first time around, jury selection took a very long time. Consequently, there is a belief that it will be yet another lengthy process that could prove to be very cumbersome. His lawyers are sounding the alarm, and they believe the case should be dismissed, altogether.

Unfortunately for YNW Melly and his co-defendant, YNW Bortlen, things have taken a drastic turn this week. Bortlen’s home was raided by the authorities, and he was subsequently brought up on witness tampering charges. The following day, Melly was brought up on similar charges, much to his chagrin. Now, according to Bryson “Boom” Paul, we have footage of Melly’s appearance in “Bond Court.”

YNW Melly In Bond Court

Melly’s attorney was adamant that there is no probable cause here and that the charges don’t make much sense. However, it does not seem like the charges are going away, in any reasonable capacity. Instead, a woman in the video can be heard saying “No Bond.” Needless to say, this is another charge in which Melly will not be able to seek any freedom. For now, he is stuck in jail, and that process could continue to play out for months as his second trial will begin quite soon.

This trial is going to be very high profile, although there is no telling when arguments will even begin. There seems to be quite a bit of frustration amongst his team right now, and it is easy to see why. Let us know what you think of the Melly situation, in the comments section below. YNW Melly Trial: Motion Filed Against Lead Detective Amid Excessive Force Investigation

The lead detective in the double murder case of YNW Melly is now the subject of a motion from the rapper’s legal team. “(The defense team) has recently learned that the lead detective, Detective M. Moretti, is under investigation and that an Assistant State Attorney has given a statement concerning an incident involving excessive force used by him against a potential witness in this case,” wrote attorney Stuart Adelstein.

As the motion states, Detective Moretti is reportedly under investigation for using “excessive force” against a witness in Melly’s case. The defense is asking that all materials in that investigation be turned over to them for review. Moretti is a 20-year veteran of the Miramar Police Department and has no previous instances of administrative discipline on his record. A date for a hearing on the motion has not been announced. The news was originally reported by Bryson “Boom” Paul, whose tireless work has been crucial to the coverage of this case.

Rough Week In YNW Melly Trial

This news caps off another tough week for Melly and his family. A day before the motion was filed on August 23, Melly’s mother Jamie made some shocking claims. “I woke up this morning just wanting to talk to my son and hear his voice. Jamel has not had phone calls in almost a year no visits and is on 23/1 lockdown. This is mental torture. Even the Parkland school shooter had phone calls and visits,” she wrote on Twitter.

Melly’s re-trial is due to begin in October. Prosecutors are aggressively pushing for the death penalty. In a harsh ruling against Melly, Judge Murphy ruled that the death penalty could be applied in an 8-4 jury ruling, as opposed to a unanimous one. Melly’s trial will begin days after that of his alleged co-conspirator, YNW Bortlen. It will be interesting to see how the two trials overlap as they occur at the same time. This is a developing story and we’ll have any updates as and when they emerge.

YNW Melly Case: What’s Next?

YNW Melly’s case has been making headlines as the jury recently declared a mistrial in his double murder trial. After three days of deliberation, the jurors were unable to reach a unanimous verdict, leading to an uncommon outcome that raises questions about what comes next for Melly and the implications this mistrial may have on his future.

The Case And The Jury’s Verdict

Melly’s trial centered around the accusation that he shot and killed his childhood friends, Anthony “YNW Sakchaser” Williams and Christopher “YNW Juvy” Thomas Jr., in a Jeep Compass back in 2018. The prosecution presented evidence claiming that Melly and his co-defendant, Cortland Henry, also known as YNW Bortlen, staged the incident as a drive-by shooting to cover up the murder. However, the defense strongly denied Melly’s involvement and emphasized the lack of a recovered gun, arguing that Melly had no motive to harm his friends.

The trial lasted for five weeks, with both the state and the defense resting their cases in the fifth week. Unfortunately, the jury foreperson revealed that the opinions among the jurors were deeply divided, ultimately leading to a deadlock. As a result, the Broward Circuit Judge declared a mistrial, leaving the case unresolved and open for future proceedings.

What Happens Next?

YNW Melly retrial case
FT. LAUDERDALE, FL – FEBRUARY 13: In this handout photo provided by the Broward’s Sheriff’s Office, rapper YNW Melly, real name Jamell Demons, is seen in a police booking photo after being charged with two counts of murder in the first degree February 13, 2019 in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Demons allegedly conspired with Cortlen Henry to fatally shot two other Florida based rappers, Christopher Thomas Jr and Anthony Williams, October 26. (Photo by Broward’s Sheriff’s Office via Getty Images)

The mistrial does not exonerate Melly from the charges. However, it does offer an opportunity for both the prosecution and the defense to reassess their strategies before the retrial. With a new jury likely to be selected, the final outcome of the case remains uncertain. The mistrial also highlights the rarity of such occurrences in high-profile cases, as only 10% of trials result in mistrials.

Moreover, with the mistrial declared, the Broward State Attorney’s Office confirmed to NBC 6 South Florida on Monday, July 24th that they will retry Melly on the double murder charges. Both sides will likely reevaluate their evidence and witness testimony to strengthen their respective cases. The next trial will offer an entirely new jury, whose opinions could significantly influence the final verdict. The mistrial doesn’t necessarily predict the outcome of the retrial either, as the dynamics of a new jury may lead to different conclusions.

Considerations For The Future

As the case progresses, the defense will continue to emphasize reasonable doubt, relying on conflicting evidence in the state’s case. It is also worth noting that this trial is among the first under a new Florida law that reduces the threshold for a death sentence to an 8-4 jury vote, adding another layer of complexity to the proceedings.

The mistrial in the YNW Melly double murder trial has left many questions unanswered about what comes next. Despite the jury’s deadlock, the case will proceed with a retrial. This offers both the prosecution and the defense an opportunity to present their cases afresh. As the legal proceedings continue, the world will be watching closely to see how the future unfolds for Melly.

Wack 100 Defends YNW Melly After Alleged Interrogation Footage Surfaces

Footage of YNW Melly in an interrogation room emerged this week as many speculated that he may have cooperated with authorities in a case stemming from a 2015 shooting. The clip of Melly began making waves this week in the midst of his double-murder trial. However, one unexpecting person came to his defense: Wack 100. The music executive suggested that the prosecutors and D.A. irresponsibly put Melly’s life at risk when the video leaked.

Wack 100 continued to explain that with the footage out, YNW Melly could become a target inside of prison. However, he indicated that it could be a bigger ploy to bring down the “223s” rapper. “So now law enforcement releases footage to the public that can only lead to violence happening to this man. Keep in mind he’s still incarcerated . Motive because the active case is going down the drain .Action expose the man so he’s harmed in prison or upon release. Where is this within in perimeters of the law?” Wack continued.

In conclusion, Wack stated, “Documents are public record – Cool that’s within the law. Interrogation footage isn’t public record.” However, as XXL points out, that’s not necessarily the case. In the state of Florida, among other states in America, interrogation footage can be accessible to the media and the public by request.
