TI Arrested By Mistake At Atlanta Airport: Report

TI just got a pretty rough reminder that his name is a pretty common one, as authorities reportedly arrested him by mistake at Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson Airport on Sunday night (August 4), according to TMZ. Specifically, it seems like law enforcement responded to an active warrant from Baltimore, Maryland for a man named Clifford Harris, which is coincidentally the rapper’s real name. This other Harris is reportedly wanted for allegedly being involved in violence against a woman, stalking, and potential firearm possession. Authorities moved the Atlanta trap pioneer from the airport to Clayton County jail and the out-of-state warrant caused an automatic extradition hearing.

Steve Sadow, T.I.’s attorney, reportedly told TMZ that he spoke with Clayton County’s Sheriff’s Office over the phone and got his client out of prison less than two hours after the arrest, and a judge looked over and dismissed the extradition order. This complaint is from June 13, and as of writing this article, it seems like the other Clifford Harris is still a wanted man at large. However, this isn’t the only legal issue that he faced as of late. Tip and Tiny filed a motion to dismiss a lawsuit accusing them of sexual assault and battery.

T.I. During The 2024 BET Awards Weekend

As for other legal issues in Atlanta, T.I. recently gave his thoughts on how he thinks Young Thug and YSL’s RICO case will end. “He coming home,” he told The Breakfast Club during a recent interview, saying that he’s been in touch with Thugger and that they’re both feeling good about his chances. “I don’t think that the prosecution has successfully proven a case of him knowingly and willingly participating in an active street gang. I just don’t see it.”

“The witnesses they’ve called thus far [haven’t] proven what they said they would prove,” T.I. continued. “I just don’t think that the grounds of their case have been presented properly. Just ain’t seen it. Don’t worry. When he come home, we’ll get it right. Just get him here… He’ll be just fine.” Along with his comments on the Kendrick Lamar and Drake beef, he has a lot of takes to dish out on the rap game, so we’ll see if he says anything about this reported arrest mishap.

Kehlani’s Baby Daddy Is Worried Their Daughter Is Part Of A Sex Cult And Wants Full Custody

The father of Kehlani’s baby, Javaughn Young-White, wants full custody of their daughter amid concerns that the singer is involved in a “sex cult,” according to court documents obtained by TMZ. He claims the singer has been under the thumb of a cult leader who has faced numerous sexual assault accusations. Young-White argues the entire situation puts their 5-year-old Adeya Nomi at risk of serious abuse. It’s unclear where Young-White is coming up with these accusations of an alleged sex cult. Another concern he voices is Kehlani’s busy tour schedule, following the release of her fourth studio album, Crash, which dropped back in June.

Fans may recognize Adeya as, over the years, Kehlani has shared adorable pictures of her on their Instagram page. The two welcomed Adeya back in 2019 but broke up just a year later.

The concerns come after Kehlani recently posted a series of videos on TikTok explaining the evolution of their sexuality. “I was bisexual my entire life, and then I came out as a lesbian almost four years ago now,” they said. “But when I realized, recently actually, all of the f–king elevation in my life that has come from de-centering men in every f–king area of it … when I prioritized women and also just centered myself and women? When all the bad b—hes decide what planet we’re going to after we f–k this one, invite me, because I will thrive.”

In other Kehlani news, they faced backlash on social media over the weekend for posing for a photo with Chris Brown. Fans were upset considering the history of misconduct allegations Brown has faced in addition to his crude response to Kehlani’s suicide attempt in 2016. Be on the lookout for further updates on Kehlani on HotNewHipHop.

Adin Ross Wants To Ask Donald Trump To Pardon Tory Lanez

Adin Ross’ upcoming stream with Donald Trump is sure to ruffle a lot of feathers online. In fact, as of writing this article, the two are supposed to go live in about an hour, so make sure to check for updates on that on HNHH if you’re reading this later in the day. Regardless of the controversy behind the 2024 U.S. presidential election and whether or not you agree with these men’s politics, it should make for at least an interesting and pretty significant viral pop culture moment. Apparently, Ross also let his fans know that he would be asking the convicted former president for a very important favor to him: pardoning Tory Lanez.

If you’re reading this from under a rock, you might not know that Tory Lanez is currently serving time in jail for being found guilty of shooting Megan Thee Stallion a couple of years ago. During a recent Adin Ross livestream, the Canadian artist called in, as the two share quite the close relationship. Lanez revealed that he graduated high school while behind bars, and that he enrolled in college to continue his education. This is very heartening news no matter what you think of that case, and it’s great to see him make something meaningful, beneficial, and fulfilling out of an otherwise difficult and contentious situation.

Adin Ross Wants Trump To Free Tory Lanez

As for Donald Trump’s ability to pardon Tory Lanez and free him from prison if he wins the election, Adin Ross might feel disappointment. Some social media users have pointed out that a president of the United States can only pardon federal cases. Since Tory has a state case, then California’s governor Gavin Newsom would have to issue the pardon, and he and Trump aren’t exactly the best of pals. But we guess that anything could happen in today’s chaotic and grim political climate in the U.S., so we wouldn’t put it past anyone.

Meanwhile, Tory Lanez hasn’t found much success when it comes to reducing his sentence or appealing the verdict of his case. Most recently, an attorney general shut down his legal team’s motion for the court to admit more “relevant evidence” in the case. This, if approved, could’ve led to a chance for the defense to point out supposed issues with the last trial and mitigate his current situation. Whether or not a presidential pardon (if Trump wins) would fix any of this remains a contentious and unlikely mystery… but we’ll see what happens.

Veeze Links With Tye Beats For Producer’s Debut Single “Wocky Sinner”

Damn Tye you made this b**** too” is a producer tag you are going to be hearing a lot more from very soon. That is tell-tale sign that Detroit, Michigan native Tye Beats is behind the boards, and you can hear it on his new single with Veeze, “Wocky Sinner”. In fact, this is the up-and-comer’s debut release. However, Tye has been making beats for a little bit now. One of his biggest credits is on 21 Savage’s latest album, american dream. His work lands on the Summer Walker collab “prove it”, and that R&B style is something that Tye specializes in. Another key track that he has been a part of is actually another Veeze track.

He put the instrumental together for the “GOMD” remix which features Lil Uzi Vert. You can find that track on the deluxe version of Veeze’s latest commercial effort, Ganger. With these big accomplishments in the rear view, Tye Beats is looking to take that next step. Producer albums are huge, and they have been perhaps even more so over the last few years. Soon, he will be throwing his name into that ring with his debut album Damn Tye. The project will be out August 8 and will include this Veeze collab, “Wocky Sinner”. On this single, Tye samples Bryson Tiller’s “Timeless Interlude” from his 2020 LP A N N I V E R S A R Y by pitching up the background vocals from it. Then, he gives it the traditional Detroit treatment that has been sweeping the city lately. The skittering drums and hi-hats and resonant bass tie things up nicely, leading to a vibey banger to get fans ready for Damn Tye.

Wesley Snipes’ Blade Breaks Records with Surprise Appearance in ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’

The legendary Wesley Snipes made a surprise return as Blade in the new “Deadpool & Wolverine” movie, despite Marvel’s recent recasting of the character for its upcoming Blade franchise. This unexpected cameo not only delighted fans but also secured Snipes two Guinness World Records.

Variety reports that Snipes has broken records for the longest career as a live-action Marvel character and the longest gap between character appearances in Marvel films. His appearance as the half-vampire “daywalker” in this superhero threequel comes 25 years and 340 days after he first portrayed Blade in 1998’s “Blade.” This achievement surpasses his co-star Hugh Jackman, whose tenure as Wolverine began 24 years ago in 2000’s “X-Men.”

Additionally, Snipes’ return as Blade marked the longest gap between character appearances in Marvel films. He last played Blade 19 years and 231 days ago in 2004’s “Blade: Trinity,” beating Alfred Molina’s 17-year hiatus between his roles as Doc Ock in 2004’s “Spider-Man 2” and 2021’s “Spider-Man: No Way Home.”

Vince Staples Trolls Fan For His Attempt At Performing “Big Fish” On Stage At Lollapalooza

Vince Staples trolled a white fan at Lollapalooza by challenging him to perform “Big Fish” to prove he wasn’t racist. Staples picked the fan, Stefan, out of the crowd and began peppering him with questions. Eventually, he brought him up on stage to partake in the bit.

“If you do this right, I’m not gonna think you’re racist. If you f*ck this up, I’m gonna think you say n****r when you go home,” Staples remarked. Stefan confirmed he doesn’t say the word when he’s in private. From there, Stefan struggled to remember the lyrics to “Big Fish.” He got out Juicy J’s part on the hook, “I was up late night ballin’ / Countin’ up hundreds by the thousand.” Afterward, a fan on X (formerly Twitter) asked Staples: “Why did you punish us with that kids terrible attempt at big fish [crying emojis] you knew he didn’t know it?” He responded: “You right I did… my bad.”

Boosie Badazz Is Tired Of People Blaming Gucci Mane For His Label Artists’ Issues

Some of Gucci Mane’s artists under his 1017 label have seen tragic and unfortunate ends to their careers, whether it be Enchanting’s passing or the prison stints of rappers like Ralo. While many fans are sympathetic to these situations and advocate primarily for the well-being of all, others make occasionally disrespectful and always dismissive assumptions about how Guwop should be at fault for these circumstances. Boosie Badazz is one of many who is tired of this narrative against the Atlanta-based legend, as he remarked during his most recent VladTV interview with DJ Vlad. The media personality brought up this connection, and Boosie responded in kind.

First of all, he posited that any artist’s level of success and struggle is ultimately their responsibility above all else, and comes directly as a result of their choices. Boosie believes that Gucci Mane ultimately helps more than he harms, given that he gave these MCs a platform and a chance at a career that may not have appeared otherwise. Specifically, he mentioned Pooh Shiesty as someone who found a lot of acclaim and success, due in part to Gucci’s support and guidance. But at the end of the day, the artists themselves are who can take advantage of this opportunity and use it responsibly.

Boosie Thinks Gucci Mane Gets Undue Hate For His 1017 Artists’ Circumstances

In addition to all this, it’s important to note that the individual situations of 1017 artists can also fall victim to systemic issues in the justice system, such as excessive punishment, discrimination, and lack of a fair process. This is one of the reasons as to why Boosie thinks that being a rap CEO can be a “thankless job” that risks big investments with possibly meager returns. Also, there’s the chance that these artists can eventually turn on their supporters and the labels and people that help them get off the ground. This hasn’t happened much in Gucci’s case, but it’s nevertheless a difficult balance to strike.

Overall, Boosie praised Gucci Mane for his candid thoughts and efforts on these subjects in the quest to support his artists, and thinks that the industry needs to acknowledge how complicated these situations can be. “I was one of those type of artists, I was always going back and forth to jail,” Gucci told Keyshia Ka’oir in the All Things podcast’s first episode. “I try to help those artists that I feel I see a lot of myself in. But I feel like if I’m not helping them, who else gon’ help them? Nobody says that part of the story.”

Homeboy Sandman Drops New Single “Alchemy” Ahead Of Next Mixtape

Queens rapper Homeboy Sandman has enjoyed a lengthy career in hip-hop. However, the last few years have been his most successful in what has turned into nearly two decades of excellence for the MC. His 2023 album, Rich, received critical acclaim, and he followed that with Rich II this past June. In 2022 and 2023, he released two mixtapes, I Can’t Sell These and I Can’t Sell These Either, on Bandcamp. He recently announced a third, Nor Can These Be Sold (At Least By Me), which does not yet have a release date. “Alchemy” is the first teaser from Sandman’s newest mixtape, accompanied by a music video.

Homeboy Sandman raps over a track by the Japanese musician Doubutsu System, called “Night Wind,” a track that is also available on Bandcamp. It is reminiscent of old-school East Coast production. Sandman’s flow is equally similar to one a rapper from the 1990s might use on the track. The bars are a lyrical exercise, with Sandman sounding agile and motivated over the production. He touches on a variety of topics. Family, the idea of being rich, his skills as a rapper, and the perception that his fans have of him as an artist. Fans know him as a more serious MC who makes music in a similar lane to artists like Quelle Chris and Aesop Rock, but he insists that he can also let loose sometimes. In the video, he stops rapping after certain bars to add context or an explanation, which fans can read in the subtitles. Overall, it’s a single that fans of Homeboy Sandman are likely to be happy with. Stream the track below.

I’m here to talk about my fears and hopes
