ASAP Rocky’s “Tailor Swif” Had A Surprising Debut On The Global Spotify Chart

ASAP Rocky’s newest single, “Tailor Swif,” has landed at No. 105 on the Global Spotify Chart with 1.679 million streams. It marks Rocky’s 45th song to appear on the Global Chart since January 2017. Despite landing on the chart, fans on social media have been having mixed responses to the track.

When OurGenerationMusic shared the news of the single’s success on Instagram, one user wrote: “If you’re a real Rocky fan stop lying to yourself and attempting to say this is good. This and 4/5 of his last singles have been utterly dog sh*t.” Another with a top comment argued he just needs more output: “He has to release more of his sound immediately if he wants to stand a chance. Less visuals, more music.”

The release of “Tailor Swif” comes as Rocky continues to prepare for his highly-anticipated fourth studio album, Don’t Be Dumb. Speaking with Billboard for an interview earlier this month, he revealed that the effort will see him delving into deeper topics than his previous works. He noted that a song called, “Shroom Cloud,” tackles, “current affairs and world wars and, you know, the world dying and whatnot.” He added: “At times like this, only two types of people strive and survive. I’m not trying to sound like I’m glorifying wars, [but] I think artists and druggies, they make it through. I mean, what was the hippies doing? They was getting high at Woodstock and f–king and having a great time and having these hippie babies who subsequently had us.”

“Tailor Swif” is the sixth single Rocky has released ahead of Don’t Be Dumb. It’s preceded by “D.M.B.,” “Shittin’ Me,” “Same Problems?” “Riot (Rowdy Pipe’n),” and “Highjack.” Be on the lookout for further updates on ASAP Rocky on HotNewHipHop.

Strick Is At An “ALL TIME HIGH” After Dropping His Biggest Project Yet

We have not been talking about Strick a lot here at HNHH. However, based on our coverage of “RECIPE FOR LOVE”, he’s a guy you want to root for. He’s been at it for quite a bit in what he calls the “obstacle course that is the music industry”. After breaking through in 2017 with risk=reward, Young Thug and the crew over at YSL (Young Stoner Life Records) signed him to a deal in 2019. He would go on to drop five projects under them, but his biggest one yet sees him going back to his roots. Strick has dropped what is being billed as his sophomore LP, ALL TIME HIGH, along with the help of his OG team at CROWN & SWORD INC.

So how does this make you want to pull Strick? Well, even though this second album does not have ties to YSL (outside of a Young Thug feature), he continues to show love to them at every turn. The Lumberton, North Carolina native did so in his IG announcement for the arrival of ALL TIME HIGH. “#JEFFCOMINGHOME”, he wrote. Additionally, he penned a heartfelt message to as to what this album means to him and everything it took to get to this point. “I dedicate this album to my daughter through the last couple of years I struggled with love and searching for love when I ended up discovering real true unconditional love from my daughter! Devi I love you and you’re my heart! If it’s one thing you learn from your dad I pray that it’s to believe in yourself and never give up!! I love you princess!!”.

Kaytranada Nearly Produced For Drake’s ‘Honestly, Nevermind’ Album, But According To Him A Short Chat Ended Things

Kaytranada is one of the most highly sought out artists in electronic music. The Grammy Award history marker has worked with acts such as Beyoncé, Tinashe, HER, Victoria Monét, and to name a few. But the “Lover/Friend” musician’s resume could’ve included Drake.

During an interview with Vulture, Kaytranada revealed that he was seemingly approached to work on Drake’s album, Honestly, Nevermind.

While attending a Coachella after-party, Kaytranada said he was fielded to see if he would open to produce on the body of work or “make beats.” At the moment, he replied to Drake’s supposed representative saying it would be “an honor.” However, that didn’t go over well with Drake.

After time had passed, Kaytranada alleged that word got back to him to that his “Sure, hit me up” response wasn’t warm enough. “Was I supposed to be like, ‘Oh my God, for real? Drake?’ I’m not like that,” he said.

The 2022 project, which featured singles “Sticky,” “Massive,” and “Jimmy Cooks,” was Drake’s head dive into dance music. Alight the album went to debut atop the charts, a collaboration from Kaytranada could’ve helped it remain in the top spot for much longer.

Drake wasn’t the only superstar to fumble a collaboration with Kaytranada. Later in the conversation, he confessed why his beloved remix of Beyoncé’s “Cuff It” track isn’t available to streaming platforms. Ultimately, Kaytranada nixed the upload due to financial reasons.

“Sometimes people don’t see your worth and how important you are,” he said. “I know what I mean to people.” His response was after he claimed Beyoncé’s team offered to pay him next to nothing or “less money than what much smaller artists have paid” while “retaining all the rights to the song.”

It appears Kaytranada has no problem walking away from what doesn’t serve him.

Nicki Minaj’s marriage to Kenneth Petty continues to be controversial for various reasons. Regardless, the “FTCU” rapper never hesitates to include him in her chats with the Barbz on TikTok live. Yesterday, for example, the pair appeared on the platform to give viewers some tips on dealing with critics.

“Don’t you let anybody or anything steal your motherf*ckin’ joy,” Nicki declared. While that’s solid advice, it’s Petty’s follow-up that has social media users upset. “That’s right, especially little f****** or f*** boys,” he said. Most viewers didn’t appreciate his use of the derogatory term and are slamming him for it. Many are also calling Nicki out for failing to correct him, particularly since she has a large LGBTQ+ fanbase.

Nicki Minaj & Kenneth Petty Receive Backlash For Offensive Livestream Remark

As a result, some are saying that Nicki doesn’t really care about her Barbz at all, though this is unconfirmed. It’s possible that she didn’t hear what he said, or simply didn’t want to draw more attention to the offensive comment. Either way, this isn’t the first time one of her interactions with fans has gone wrong. Earlier this month, a former Barb filed a lawsuit against Nicki, accusing her of slander. He alleges that she embarrassed him on Instagram Live, accused him of being a paid saboteur, called him a stalker, and more. Reportedly, he’s seeking a whopping $5 million in damages for reputational harm, emotional distress, and financial loss.

Her attorney Judd Burstein issued a statement about the lawsuit on Monday, accusing the former fan of “harassing Nicki on social media for years on end to no avail.” Burstein also alleged that he’s trying to “shake her down financially with manifestly false allegations and legally frivolous claims.” What do you think of Nicki Minaj’s husband Kenneth Petty using a gay slur on TikTok live? Tory Lanez Treats Fans To Three New Tracks For His Prison Tapes Pack

Tory Lanez is already putting in so much work while behind bars. So, as fans, we are extremely appreciative that his going above and beyond this week. If you haven’t been keeping up with his musical output as of late, the rapper and singer has been dropping a two-piece every weekend for over a month. It’s all for his new Prison Tapes series/playlist, and it originally started with him uncovering some old recordings throughout multiple eras in his career.

He’s still doing that, but as of late Tory Lanez has been putting in extra hours to record new material while in prison. Making things even more impressive is that the quality of the tracks is up to snuff with artists who have the benefit of recording in an actual studio. It seems that each Tory fan has their favorite set of tracks from these weekly releases, and ours might be this one. This time through, he’s delivering a never before seen three-pack. “Appellate Court Freestyle”, which features AWOL$, “Tommie’s Interlude”, and “Basement” are the titles. The first is probably out favorite and arguably features Lanez’s best rapping performance as he airs out his stresses, his views on the double standards in society and more.

Moreover, leading the way is the highly anticipated album from Big Sean, Better Me Than You. On top of all these major developments in her personal life, the hitmaker also has her eagerly anticipated sophomore album in the works, and fans have been begging for it for years.

Cardi B’s New Album Is On The Way

Fortunately, Cardi B was recently spotted in the studio, presumably working on it. Evan LaRay shared a clip of the “Bongos” performer looking exhausted but in good spirits. Hopefully, this means that listeners will get to hear the project this year as previously promised, though the release window remains unclear for now. Back in May, Cardi announced that the album would no longer arrive in 2024, but was later corrected by her own record label. “Cardi B’s upcoming album is one of the most anticipated this year. We can’t wait put it out, even if we have to sneak into her studio and take it!” Atlantic Records’ official X account posted.

While the post seemed playful, Cardi did recently compare the studio to a “correctional facility,” which she received ample backlash for. Tokyo Toni Roasts Celina Powell To Her Face On “Aunt-Tea” Podcast

The latest episode of the Aunt-Tea Podcast with Tokyo Toni, Tia Kemp, and Karlissa Saffold kept the antics up as fans expected. Moreover, their latest guest was Celina Powell, and at one point during their conversation, she spoke about deleting OnlyFans when she gets pregnant. “You’re not going to get pregnant,” Toni roasted her with. “No. Don’t bring no baby to this world, f***ed up like you are. Get some help! You’re f***ed up. I think you’re trashy, filthy, nasty, and dirty.” However, all the ladies had a good laugh over it, so maybe this didn’t come off to them as combative as it might to some social media users.

However, the reason why Tokyo Toni made these comments about Celina Powell is because of her controversial dating history. The most recent example of this concerns Powell’s alleged current boyfriend Clay Gravesande of Love Is Blind, who claimed that they’re not dating and that she “used” him. “Celina actually is a cool a** person,” he told Rory and Mal. “I went to Belize with another female actually, and then I came back and I was going to actually shoot some content with Celina. It was really kind of innocent, bro. I was being used. She got me, she won.”

Tokyo Toni Thinks Celina Powell Is “Trashy”

“I didn’t know who CP was until everyone started sending me her youtube information [throwing up emoji],” Clay Gravesande’s mother said of Celina Powell. “It’s very interesting that some men will lose everything thinking that the apple is good but its a forbidden choice (do better). The deceiver uses old tricks to attack and destroy. Clayton Alexander, you know that Jesus will allow things to occur. He’s still trying to get your attention…. Please surrender to him.”

Meanwhile, this is far from the only moment that Tokyo Toni had smoke (light or otherwise) for a guest… Or even for her co-host. Regardless, in the former’s case, she left Antonio Brown speechless with a rant on how being bad at dancing suggests that someone is bad at intercourse. As such, we can only wonder what antics and wild statements will emerge on the next Aunt-Tea Podcast episode. Russ Is In A Different Mode On “Get Up & Get It”

Russ certainly has a lot of room to talk when it comes to writing motivational songs and its why “Get Up & Get It” has weight to its words. However, we have to be completely transparent and say there are some bars that feel forced. “She sayin’ she vegan, how, girl? (How?) / Your favorite position is cowgirl / The sex after fighting makes fighting feel worth it“. Overall, the track has a great overlying message to it and there are some lines that come across better than the ones above. But in that same breath, we feel that the execution isn’t fully there.

We would say its why there is a solid group of hip-hop fans out there who would say that Russ inconsistent. But at the end of the day, you have to give it to him for hustling as hard as he has for so long. It’s hard not talk about it because it’s made Russ into one of the most successful underground/independent MCs in the genre’s history. His mindset to feed fans with an influx of singles, projects, and shows is truly commendable. Speaking of which, Russ recently revealed that “Get Up & Get It” will be the last record before his Europe tour. The guy is simply a workaholic, and we respect everything he’s done until this point. Gloss Up & Her Boyfriend Bicker Over Her Alleged Hunxho Fling On Instagram Live

Gloss Up is still apparently dealing with the fallout of her Hunxho scandal. To sum it up quickly, it’s basically a contentious and complex love triangle between them and Keyshia Cole, who is Hunxho’s current partner. Apparently, Gloss was still in the middle of them at a point, and she even got into a big fight with her boyfriend for him allegedly thinking that the two rappers are still linking up. She took issue with how disrespectfully he treated her and her children, whereas he took issue with how she was airing all of this out on social media. As you can imagine, it’s a pretty wild and unclear situation overall.

Furthermore, when Hunxho and Keyshia Cole first started dating, the big narrative around them was their age gap. Then, when Gloss Up shared some flirty BTS pics with him at a music video shoot, things got way more spicy through some social media shade. Eventually, the North Carolina MC confirmed his relationship with the singer and made it clear that he wasn’t going to take that narrative any longer. Clearly, there’s still some consequences to contend with, but it’s all too vague and speculative to make a judgement call.

Gloss Up Blasts Her Boyfriend Over Hunxho Rumors

Beyond this scandal, though, Gloss Up is just having a normal rap career and making her way into other celebrity relationship drama. For example, last year’s single with Chrisean Rock, “N.A.L.B.,” saw the Baddies star diss her on-and-off-again boo Blueface quite heavily. Of course, that aged in an interesting way since they’re both currently in jail. If nothing else, it’s just a snapshot in a long and complicated photo album that became a jumbled and contradictory rollercoaster to witness.

Gloss’ Man Shares His Side Of The Story

As for Hunxho, he released the Before The Album EP recently, and before you get cheeky, it’s more creative than its title lets on. Nevertheless, he’s also chilling out these days beyond this Gloss Up drama. We’ll see whether there’s another chapter to all this or if it will remain in the rumor mill for the foreseeable future. We wouldn’t put anything past social media antics or Instagram Live rants, so let’s see what happens.
