Kodak Black Links Up With G Herbo & NoCap For Studio Session

Whenever there’s footage of rappers in the studio, you know it usually spells out good news for fans wanting new music. Moreover, Kodak Black was recently filmed in the studio, cooking it up with G Herbo and NoCap. Not only that, but they previewed what sounds like an upcoming collaboration, and though they didn’t announce anything, it still got fans excited. That being said, it’s also likely that it could be a solo Kodak song that he just played for the other two MCs. Either way, they seemed to be having a good time together, and fans expect them to have dropped some verses in that time, as well.

Kodak Black in particular has to have a lot on his mind these days, what with his recent renegotiation of his release terms. Furthermore, he recently responded to a fan on Instagram Live who said he should go back to jail to work on his addiction. “Damn, what kind of person are you?” the Florida rapper asked. “This motherf***er say, ‘You need to go back to jail and sober up, Yak. For real, for real, man. How and why do you feel like that’s the answer to my… whatever you feel like? I was like ‘S**t… when motherf***ers know you chosen and s**t, that’s when they torment you.”

Regardless, hopefully Kodak Black was still able to enjoy his studio time despite those emotions weighing on him. What’s more is that G Herbo’s dropped a lot in 2023, so all rappers involved have some hype behind them. For example, he recently appeared alongside Drakeo The Ruler, Tory Lanez, and more on Toronto rapper Top5’s Pedro Activated album. Maybe this prolific streak will continue throughout the year.

Meanwhile, NoCap’s last release came back in 2022, so there’s actually a bit more anticipation there. With this teased collaboration, maybe the trio is looking to score a summer hit. Whatever the case, it’s always a treat to see MCs behind the scenes as they work on their craft. For more news and updates on Kodak Black, G Herbo, and NoCap, check back in with HNHH.

Rob Gronkowski Takes Drip King Crown With Cease & Desist For Baby Gronk

“Is Baby Gronk the new Drip King, or is he being rizzed up by Livvy?” is a phrase that took the internet by storm in early June. Baby Gronk is a 10-year-old social media star whose football exploits are doing big numbers for him and his family. Earlier this year, he visited LSU, where he linked up with Tigers gymnast and social media influencer Olivia Dunne. This led a lacrosse player at UMass-Lowell to ask whether Baby Gronk was the new Drip King (a title held by a lacrosse player at UMass) or whether Dunne had merely rizzed up Baby Gronk to secure his commitment to LSU.

Baby Gronk, or more accurately, his father/manager, took the viral attention in stride. Baby Gronk declared himself the new Drip King and even challenged fellow social media phenom Baby Diggs to a 1-on-1 battle. The entire situation is very bizarre and has undertones of the Todd Marinovich debacle from the late 80s. However, a new figure has emerged to add more fuel to the fire.

Rob Gronkowski retired from the NFL in 2022, finishing his career as one of the greatest tight ends of all time. Playing his entire career alongside Tom Brady in both New England and Tampa, Gronk is a surefire first-ballot Hall of Famer. However, he has now entered the story with a cease and desist for the social media star.

Rob Gronkowski Seeks To Shut Down Baby Gronk Dad

The whole thing would have likely flown under the radar if not for Baby Gronk’s father. Appearing on Barstool SportsTight End University, Gronk vented about the annoyance that was Jake San Miguel, aka Baby Gronk Dad. “Four weeks ago, my brother told me, ‘Yo, have you seen Baby Gronk?’ ‘Did I see him? ‘ I go. ‘His dad hit me up 500 times already.’ He goes, ‘Don’t do anything.’ The dad is so annoying. And this was like five, six weeks ago. And then all of a sudden, two weeks later, it’s coming out everywhere. My brother died laughing,” Gronk said.

This has led Gronk to consider issuing a cease and desist to Miguel. This order would likely seek to prevent Miguel from marketing his son as “Baby Gronk” going forward. “We’re gonna cease and desist Baby Gronk’s dad,” the ex-pro said on the Barstool show. Well, the meme was fun while it lasted. However, maybe it is for the best that the Baby Gronk business is curtailed.

As mentioned, the whole situation reminded a lot of people of Todd Marinovich, a player who went the 80s version of viral for being essentially bred for football by his dad. Similarly, Chris Long, the long-time Rams defensive end, expressed concern for the social media phenom on his podcast. “I have no problem with profiting off the internet, this is what we’re all doing,” Long said on his podcast Green Light. “But the difference is we’re not using a 10-year-old kid to do it. You gotta be concerned about the toll this is gonna take on Baby Gronk when he’s older.” Long has been very open about the pressure he faced growing up from his own father, Hall of Famer Howard Long.

Olivia Dunne Steals Headlines At MCWS

But what are the other figures of the viral story up to? Well, Olivia Dunne continues to grab headlines wherever she goes. Most recently, that was Omaha, Nebraska for the Men’s College World Series. Amid the nearly 70,000 Jello shots consumed by LSU fans during the event, Dunne was out and about at final NCAA championship of the season.

Dunne attended several games during the event, including LSU wins against Wake Forest and Florida. Every time Dunne posted up at Charles Schwab Field, large swathes of the crowd would gravitate toward her. One has to imagine that the charm quickly wore off after the number of people “shooting their shot” hit double digits.

After LSU took home their seventh MCWS title, it was off to Tennessee for Dunne. She posted up at the Nashville Superspeedway for the NASCAR CUP Series Ally 400 race. Furthermore, her VIP pass earned her a tour of Chase Eliot’s pit and car. Eliot, the 2020 NASCAR Cup Series champion, currently sits in 25th in the NASCAR standings.

Big Daddy Kane Shows Love To Lil Uzi Vert, Kodak Black & Migos

The generational divide in hip-hop is bigger than its ever been, even as we approach the culture’s 50th anniversary. However, Big Daddy Kane hopes to bridge the gap. During a recent interview on V-103’s The Big Tigger Morning Show, Kane discussed some of his favorite rappers from the 80s, as well as some of the new faces in hip hop. “If we’re talking during that era of late 80s, early 90s, I would say myself, [KRS-One], Rakim, and [Kool G Rap]. It changes with each era,” he explained.

However, he also listed a few of his favorite artists from the 70s who laid the foundation of hip-hop. “There are artists that did great things in their era, so I acknowledge them that way. I mean going all the way back to Melle Mel, Kool Moe Dee, Grandmaster Caz, those cats,” he said. His comments came shortly after his performance at the BET Awards Hip-Hop 50 celebration. Kane performed alongside D-Nice, MC Lyte, The Sugar Hill Gang, and Kid Capri in an homage to the early years of hip-hop. However, the performance also included a few artists that came in the past decade, such as Chief Keef

Although Kane hasn’t necessarily been active musically in recent years, he’s clearly still keeping his ear to what’s new and fresh. Ultimately, he feels as though there needs to be a better connection between the hip-hop legends and the younger artist who could benefit from their guidance. “To get another 50, I believe that we need to bridge that gap between the older generation and the younger generation,” he said. “We had our shot, we did our thing, we’re still around, and we have a fan base that supports us for our catalog.”

Kane’s already shown love for artists like Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole. However, he explained that he would love to create a rapport with younger acts like Uzi and Kodak Black. “I would love to sit down with the likes of like Lil Uzi Vert or Kodak Black or Migos, any of these cats, just to build. I think that’s what’s important when there can be a connection where the past generation can talk with the future generation and give them game,” he said.

Lil Durk Embraces His Spirituality In New Instagram Post

Lil Durk appears to be getting in touch with his spirality recently and he’s sharing that journey with fans. The rap star still has a song in the top 10 of the Hot 100 this week, the J.Cole featuring “All My Life.” He also has the highest-selling rap album of the year so far with his new project Almost Healed. Now he appears to be turning his sights towards self-improvement. In a new Instagram post, he can be seen embracing his Muslim spirituality with a trio of new pictures. In the caption he says “I do better and better everyday I just keep em wondering – stay focus.”

Fans flocked to the comments to praise Lil Durk for his actions. Fellow rappers like Ty Dolla Sign and RALO took the chance to show Durk some love. Hilariously, the post has just as many comments about the fourth and final picture. A meme with a far less serious tone than the rest of the pictures. “Delete that last slide gang,” one comment reads. “Last slide LMAOOOO,” says another.

Lil Durk’s New Vision

Recently Lil Durk has found himself involved in the YSL snitching drama. After he publicly spoke out about Gunna’s reported snitching as a part of his plea deal fans couldn’t help but compare the two former collaborators. While Durk cleared both Young Thug and Gunna in terms of sales that isn’t all people are discussing. Joe Budden recently said that despite the snitching Gunna’s new album is better than either of Durk or Thuggers. As a result of all the drama going on between the artists Gunna and Lil Durk have since unfollowed each other on Instagram.

Lil Durk isn’t done with new material either. Last week he confirmed to fans that a deluxe edition of his album Almost Healed is in the works. While he didn’t reveal when it may drop or who could be on the bonus tracks, fans are still excited to hear more Durk. What do you think of Lil Durk’s new Instagram post? Let us know in the comment section below.

GloRilla Reacts To Drake Getting The Key To Memphis County In Fan Response

When Drake got the key to Shelby County (i.e. Memphis, Tennessee), a lot of people reacted quite indignantly online. Of course, the main argument that people had for the ridiculousness of this was that the rap and pop superstar isn’t even from the city. Moreover, they lamented the fact that a Toronto native got such an honor seemingly before many of the city’s burgeoning, established, or legendary musical artists. Young Dolph, Moneybagg Yo, and GloRilla were some of the names that people mentioned in their clapback. However, as the “Lick Or Sum” pointed out, it seems like a lot of people need to check up on their Memphis history before talking down on the 6 God.

“I got this key almost a year ago,” GloRilla tweeted along with some heart emojis, showing that the city did honor some of its own, after all. In addition, it’s important to note Drake’s own historic ties to the city. He spent summers there and his father is actually from the state’s second-most populated city. “We love our own” Shelby County Chairman Mickell Lowery told him during the ceremony. “Memphis music touches the world. You got a lot of Memphis blood in you and you’re definitely touching the world.”

GloRilla Addresses Drake’s Key To The City Of Memphis

Hopefully this isn’t the only time that Drizzy and Glo reference each other in some capacity. Not only that, but there’s hope that the two will officially collaborate one day, which would surely be a smash hit. “Most definitely. We’re gonna try to make it work,” GloRilla said of potentially working with him one day at the 2023 BET Awards. Given that both claim superstar titles and careers these days, it’s a very exciting prospect and would be another huge career move for the Memphis native.

Meanwhile, the 23-year-old recently told Rolling Stone why she thinks a lot of men like her music, too. “I know a lot of dudes, they won’t ride around listening to no girl that sound like a girl, because they going to be like, ‘Oh, I’m being p***y.’ But they hear me and now [they say], ‘She slick, sound like one of us.’” Surely a Drake feature would only get more people to look past their preconceived notions and pay attention to the quality of the music. Regardless, stick around on HNHH for the latest news on Drake and GloRilla.

Jada Pinkett Smith Announces New Memoir: ‘I Will Take Back My Narrative’

jada

In October, Jada Pinkett Smith announced she was writing a memoir about life and her ‘complicated’ marriage to her husband Will Smith. Now Jada has revealed the title of her anticipated book. The forthcoming book is billed as a “no holds barred” retelling of the influential actor and TV host’s “difficult but riveting journey … from the depths of suicidal depression to the heights of personal rediscovery and the celebration of authentic feminine power.”

Screen Shot 2023 06 29 at 9.35.37 AM

On her Instagram page, Jada wrote:

On October 17th, I invite you into a journey that, understandably, many think they already know. The fact that I have, in the last four years contributed to the creation and perpetuation of falsehoods about myself, in which other untrue narratives were birthed, has surely aided in the misunderstandings that surround me. This fall, with deep humility and respect, I will take back my narrative. My memoir starts at the beginning, offering an unvarnished and revealing account from my challenging upbringing in Baltimore into a controversial life in Hollywood. It’s a harrowing ride of reclaiming my self-worth while unraveling unspoken truths.

My adventures of my youth, meaningful friendships, marriage, motherhood, self-betrayal and self reclamation are mere reflections of the adventures so many of us have taken in search of happiness. My hope is that through the exploration of my own tumultuous situations to the rediscovery of deep love, that we are all reminded that no matter where we may be on our journey, we are all…Worthy. Lil Uzi Vert Met Their ‘Best Friend’ Nardwuar Again, And This Time, They Didn’t Run Away

As much of the internet turns into an unbearable hellscape of political flag-waving and incorrigible trolling, Nardwuar interviews remain a wholesome source of comfort. And no Nardwuar interviews have been more memorable or endearing than his encounters with genre (and gender)-bending Philadelphia rapper Lil Uzi Vert. The two online favorites recently reunited at Lyrical Lemonade’s Summer Smash in Chicago, and this time, not only did Uzi not run away, they called Nardwuar their “best friend.”

This time around, they discussed Uzi’s fondness for Call Of Duty, which they offered to teach Nardwuar to play after a dinner invite to their house, and the movie Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World — which Uzi has based past album art on. After Nardwuar gifts Uzi with a vinyl copy of the film’s soundtrack, Uzi gushes that it’s, “One of the best movies I ever saw in my life. I’ve been watching movies a very long time and I haven’t found a movie that tops this movie. The story behind this movie, the cinematography, the action. Everything about this movie is just so perfect for the time that it came out and it’s classic and timeless and a gem to Canada and America and the whole world.” (Nardwuar is from Canada, where the film takes place.)

Khalid’s Mom Detailed His Status Post-Car Accident, Including When He’ll Rejoin Ed Sheeran’s ‘Mathematics Tour’

Khalid had been an opener on the North American leg of Ed Sheeran’s Mathematics Tour since its May 6 kickoff. Uproxx listed it among “Most Anticipated Concert Tours Of Summer 2023,” and fans are especially anticipating Khalid’s return to the stage after being involved in a car accident last week.

Khalid’s mother, Linda Wolfe, provided an encouraging update to KVIA ABC-7.

According to the El Paso, Texas outlet, Khalid “had pulled over after his car started to overheat, got into the passenger seat, then was hit by a passing car,” suffering “minor injuries” that he’s currently recovering from. Khalid is “expected to be back” on the Mathematics Tour beginning this Friday, June 30, at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts.

Sheeran stepped in and opened for himself at FedEx Field in Landover, Maryland last Saturday, June 24, and told the presumably confused crowd he was on stage earlier than expected because of Khalid’s accident.

“He’s recovering, and we wish him the best,” Sheeran said (as captured by a fan-taken video). “And I’m gonna say this after every song because if people don’t know I was gonna be the opening act today, people are gonna be walking in, like, ‘This show isn’t what I thought it was. I thought there’d be more fireworks.’ But here we are. I’m basically playing songs from – (Subtract).”
