Are Cardi B & Offset Still Together?

Cardi B and Offset have had their ups-and-downs — and it seems like they might be having a rocky patch again. In a since-deleted Instagram story from a few days ago, Offset accused Cardi of cheating on him, according to Cosmopolitan.

Still, the Bronx rapper is denying the rumors. She even hosted a Twitter space to discuss them, poking at it by singing Keyshia Cole’s “I Should Have Cheated.”

“First of all, let me say: You can’t accuse me of all the things you know that you are guilty of,” Cardi said on the space, encouraging her fans to join in. “Sing it with me, y’all. And I see that it is easy for you to blame everything on me. Yes, honey!”

“Listen. Don’t pay attention to that country man, y’all,” she added. That motherf*cker spiraling and thinking sh*t. Come on, now. I think sometimes motherf*ckers forget I’m Cardi B. If I was giving this p*ssy to anybody, it would be out. I’m not just anybody.”

While the couple have had two children together, Kulture in 2018 and Wave in 2021, this is not the first time they’ve dealt with infidelity questions. While Cardi was pregnant in the winter of 2017, videos reportedly surfaced of Offset cheating on her. Since then, they’ve broken up, divorced, and got back together several times.

As of right now, though, Cardi B and Offset appear to still be together, despite the tension.

Cardi B is a Warner Music artist. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.

Offset Reveals BET Awards Performance With Quavo Was Put Together In 16 Hours

During a recent Instagram Live, Offset shared details of his performance alongside Quavo at the 2023 BET Awards. He called the show “iconic,” going on to reveal that it only took a total of around 16 hours to put together. The artist also explained that they did the performance for Takeoff, the late Migos’ member who passed away in 2022. “We’re the greatest group to ever touch the mic,” Offset says, “R.I.P. to my brother [Takeoff].”

Me and [Quavo] stood tall,” he explained, thanking all of his fans for their support. “It was a movie,” Offset continues, “It was a vibe, we needed that for the culture.” The surprise performance stunned their fans and peers alike. T.I. weighed in backstage, calling the show “Goddamn monumental.” He went on to say it’s “something they gonna be talking about ten years from now.” It was the duo’s first time performing together since Takeoff’s death. The show featured pyrotechnics, and a massive projection of their late Migos’ collaborator projected behind them.

Offset Says They Did The Show For Takeoff

The recent reunion got fans hoping that Offset and Quavo may be coming out with some new music together in the near future. Sadly, it was reported earlier this week that they plan on holding off for now. Viewers were eager to see the two get together after backstage beef that reportedly took place at the 2023 Grammy Awards. Reports suggested that the fight surrounded another tribute to Takeoff, and even involved Offset’s wife Cardi B. After the alleged physical altercation, Offset took to social media to deny it ever occurred. He also called those making the accusations “crazy.”

Patrick Xavier Clark was formally charged for Takeoff’s murder last month. Offset previously shared that his final collaboration with his Migos’ collaborator will be on his next album. The album has also been confirmed to feature Travis Scott, Cardi B, Chloe Bailey, Latto, and Future.

7 Must-Listen Hip Hop Albums of All Time

Hip hop is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. The genre of music started as a niche movement in The Bronx, New York, in the early 1970s. Now, hip hop is the world’s biggest genre of music and is greatly impactful on pop culture. The volume and history of hip hop as a culture and genre can be overwhelming for anyone who would like to learn more about it. Today, we’ve compiled a list of seven of the best hip hop albums that one must listen to.

It must be emphasized that this list is not exhaustive and does not even begin to encompass the full scope of hip hop music. These selections attempt to display a wide variety of albums that were important for the development of the genre. Each album on the list has no skippable tracks and is considered iconic in most cultural discussions. Take a look at the list of seven of the best hip hop albums of all time that are essential listens.

Snoop DoggDoggystyle (1993)

An East Coast bias is often understood as hip hop was born in New York, and many of its greatest lyricists come from the area. Even if one favors the traditional hip hop sounds of New York, one cannot deny that Snoop Dogg’s Doggystyle is one of the best hip hop albums of all time. Dr. Dre produced Snoop’s debut album in 1993, establishing the G-Funk sound and paving the way for the entire West Coast. The two established their chemistry on Dr. Dre’s The Chronic, but Doggystyle combined calm and aggressive to completely redefine gangsta rap. Many of hip hop’s greatest artists from all regions cite Doggystyle as an inspiration.

Nas – Illmatic (1994)

Many classic hip hop albums helped shape the New York sound before 1994, but Nas reset the standard for lyricism with Illmatic. The album contains timeless boom-bap production that transports the listener to New York in the 1990s. Nas’s impeccable rhyme style and his storytelling ability raised the bar for the art of rapping. Illmatic’s concise tracklist also set the standard for what qualifies as a timeless piece of art. Nas was only 20 years old at its release, making Illmatic even more impressive.

The Notorious B.I.G.Ready To Die (1994)

Ready to Die is one of hip hop’s most iconic albums and is arguably perfect. The Notorious B.I.G. cemented his legacy with his debut album before his untimely passing. Ready to Die solidified Biggie as an all-time great, blending his tough persona with deep thinking and vivid imagery. Ready to Die showcases Biggie’s unique and irreplicable flow and delivery. The album helped shape what a commercially successful hip hop should look like, creating a formula for rappers with crossover appeal. While Ready to Die is distinctly New York, Biggie’s lyrical ability and the album’s appeal transcended location.

Mobb DeepThe Infamous (1995)

Mobb Deep’s The Infamous set the benchmark for rough, rugged, and gritty hip hop music. The dusty yet beautiful production from Havoc and the violent rapping from Prodigy defined a sound of hip hop. While an album like Illmatic helped define the sound of New York, The Infamous created a lane of New York hip hop with its hardcore beats and rhymes. The Infamous was a landmark release for ‘90s rap and remains influential today as its sound permeates the underground scene.

JAY-Z – The Blueprint (2001)

JAY-Z’s name comes up in almost every discussion of the greatest rappers of all time. Many, including Jay himself, consider Reasonable Doubt, his debut album in 1996, his best. However, The Blueprint is an undeniable masterpiece. JAY-Z’s five previous albums showed that he could adapt to the current sound of hip hop and surpass others while doing so. The Blueprint saw Jay leading the charge instead. The album’s chopped and looped samples and JAY-Z’s skillful charisma made The Blueprint such a monumental album.

Madvillain – Madvillainy (2004)

Almost every album on this list was a critical and commercial success that took hip hop to new heights. MF DOOM and Madlib’s 2004 collaborative album as Madvillain defined the essence of underground hip hop. Madlib’s experimental sampling and MF DOOM’s lyrically dense and clever bars were unprecedented. The album’s rapping and production were innovative and influenced a lane of artistry that encourages creativity. Diehard rap fans still celebrate Madvillainy as a classic album, representing the ultimate collaboration between two of the underground’s greatest talents.

Kanye West – My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy (2010)

Kanye West’s fifth studio album is one of the most critically acclaimed albums of modern music. While Ye’s four previous albums are classics in their own right, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy is his magnum opus. It encompassed the soul, arrangement, musicality, and experimentation of Kanye’s previous albums, skillfully blending genres to create an entirely new sound. My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy was arguably the peak of Kanye West’s lyrical skill, displaying effortless braggadocio and vulnerability. Released in 2010, the album set the bar high for modern music and has influenced contemporary hip hop and beyond.

Sexyy Red is enjoying her moment in the spotlight lately, revelling not only in the enjoyment of working with Nicki Minaj on “Pound Town 2,” but also appearing at the BET Awards alongside so many of our favourite artists. Patti LaBelle Gets Down At Usher Show

A new clip shows 79-year-old R&B singer Patti LaBelle having the time of her life at a recent Usher concert. The video was taken at his “My Way” residency at the MGM in Las Vegas. Fans are seen cheering on the icon while she dances to Ginuwine’s 1996 hit, “Pony.” Fans in the comments sections are loving her enthusiasm.

LaBelle took to social media later to share her thoughts on the show. “I’m so glad I was able to catch Usher’s show in Vegas before my concert in Primm, NV tomorrow night because it was AWESOME!,” she wrote on Twitter. The songstress continued, “Thank you @Usher and your whole team for treating me like a queen! And if you haven’t seen his show yet, this is one you do not want to miss!”

Patti LaBelle Dances To “Pony”

Last weekend, LaBelle was scheduled to pay tribute to the legendary Tina Turner during a performance at the 2023 BET Awards. Turner passed away due to natural causes at her home in Switzerland last month. “It was an extraordinary privilege to celebrate the life and legacy of Ms. Tina Turner at BET Awards 2023. Having the incomparable Ms. Patti LaBelle on our stage honoring one of her contemporaries was an equal privilege,” a representative for BET said. The performance was, of course, going to be major, honoring Turner’s life and legacy.

Unfortunately, LaBelle’s tribute to the late icon made headlines for other reasons. She performed hits like Turner’s 1989 Foreign Affair track “The Best,” but she had a couple of snags along the way. She fumbled a few of the song’s lyrics, admitting that she couldn’t read them on the teleprompter. “I can’t see the words and I don’t know,” she sung onstage, “I’m trying y’all.” BET later shared a statement on the mishap. “Due to the crowd’s enthusiasm, the teleprompter was obstructed, obscuring Ms. LaBelle’s view of the lyrics,” they explained. “Nonetheless, we couldn’t be more grateful to Ms. LaBelle for lending her incredible talent to this moment.

Boosie Badazz Reacts To Omeretta The Great’s “Put It On Da Floor” Remix: “#CloutChasin”

At this point in her career, Omeretta The Great has become known for stirring up controversy with her lyrics – she doesn’t seem to mind, though. On Friday (June 30), the Atlanta-based artist closed the month with her “Put It on Da Floor (RettaMix)” which finds her name-dropping several key players close to the YSL RICO trial. Omeretta appears to defend Gunna, who was released earlier this year on a plea deal, with her bars, while name-dropping several male rappers who have been throwing shade his way recently.

“They talking bout Baby making disses, I guess he picking a side / But this Atlanta business, someone tell Boosie be quiet,” the 27-year-old spits. “I heard that Durk all on the ‘gram tryna boost up his pride / He sending disses at lil Gunna when Lil Y be outside,” she continues. In the hours since the track has dropped, the recently incarcerated entertainer has shared his thoughts on Twitter.

Boosie Badazz Responds to Omeretta’s “Put It On Da Floor (RettaMix)”

“[Omeretta], get mat at what [your] city doing 🐀,” his indirect message to The Great began. “Don’t get mad at me lol. I see the play 😂. Who you trying to get a feature with?” Boosie asked, assuming that the black-haired beauty is attempting to further her career by using his name. “SMH. #CloutChasin, just keep rapping 🔥. Hopefully your time coming,” he concluded, throwing shade at Omeretta’s distance from the spotlight in proximity to names like Ice Spice, Latto, and Coi Lerray, for example.

Despite his own legal woes, Boosie Badazz has been one of the most vocal rappers in terms of expressing disdain for Gunna’s alleged snitching. While at the BET Awards earlier this month, he spoke with the press on the red carpet about exactly why he has so much hatred for informants. ESPN Lays Off Jalen Rose

jalen

Retired NBA player Jalen Rose is one of the twenty on-air personalities laid off from ESPN. Reports are saying that the whopping layoffs blindsided many and  they are unrelated to the multi-round Disney layoffs implemented in recent months.

Deadline reports:

ESPN is letting go of about 20 on-air personalities, including two familiar names to NBA viewers: game analyst Jeff Van Gundy and studio co-host Jalen Rose.

Keyshawn Johnson, a former NFL player who had co-hosted ESPN Radio’s national morning show in one of many chapters in a 16-year run on ESPN, is also among those leaving. Also out is Max Kellerman, Johnson’s radio co-host as well as host of This Just In and formerly Stephen A. Smith’s longtime sparring partner on daily morning TV staple First Take.

A person familiar with the cutbacks told Deadline they are unrelated to the multi-round Disney layoffs implemented in recent months. Those reductions saw a number of senior-level execs leave ESPN but spared on-air talent. The source indicated that many of those affected by the new cuts have contracts beyond June 30 and will paid out accordingly, but parting ways will enable ESPN to avoid wider layoffs. The sports operation is now its own division of Disney, making its financials more visible.
